The path to true love is rarely smooth, but for Tress and Noah the potholes were filled with heartbreak and humiliation. One Year After You is a "sequel" to One Day With You, where Noah and Tress learn their spouses Max and Anya were having an affair. It is not necessary to read One Day With You first, but you'll feel more connected to the characters of One Year After You if you do. In One Year After You Tress is a single mom to son Buddy, born the same night his dad died; Noah is dating fellow doctor Cheska; and while neither Noah nor Tress has forgotten what happened one year before, both are trying to move on. One Year After You celebrates their strength and survival in the face of the worst betrayal imaginable-while looking forward the novel does not erase the past or skirt around the impact. There are several secondary characters that add charm and mystery to the plot, but One Year After You focuses squarely on Tress and Noah. The outcome of One Year After You is never really in doubt, but there are a few detours to keep up the momentum. One Year After You proves that while night may be darkest just before dawn, when the sun shines on a new day its light can be brighter and sweeter than ever.

It has been one year since Tress’ husband was killed in a car accident while driving with his mistress/Noah’s wife, Anya.
One Year After You is told from the perspectives the four main characters, Tress, Noah, Noah’s sister, Keli and Odette whose show Tress is a set designer on. The story revolves around the events that unfold in their lives over a 24-hour period.

The book is a compelling read that considers the complexities of relationships, grief, and the possibility of second chances.

A great read you won't want to put down!

Absolutely love Shari Low books and having read the reviews for this decided to read the first book One Day with You and although they can be read as stand-alone I enjoyed reading the two in succession. Loved the characters the plot of the story and the sense of humour threaded throughout a really great read and would highly recommend. If you love stories that involve people and their relationships. Both books well worth 5 stars. 🤩

I still cannot work out why Shari Low books are so captivating.
The characters are remarkable; they feel like friends who have been around for years and when their story ends it feels like the end of a friendship. The stories are about every day people and places you can relate to, and maybe that is the secret of her success.
“ one day with you”, continues the story of Tress and Noah who we first encountered in “One day with you”. Although this a sequel, it can be read as a stand alone, but you would be missing a treat in “One day with you”.
I really cannot recommend this novel and this author highly enough.

This is the continuation of the unforgettable One Day With You story and takes place in over a 24 hour period one year later. Can it be read as a stand-alone? I guess so because there is a cast of characters listed in the beginning, but I think to truly enjoy the story for all it is meant to be, you need to have read the first book.
It has been one year since Tress’s husband Max was killed in a car accident while driving with his mistress, Anya, who also happened to be Max’s best friend Noah’s wife of over 20 years. Tress was in labor when her husband died and Anya was injured and Noah was with Tress as she gave birth which led to them being super close as a result.
Odette is an actress on Scotland’s longest running soap, but she’s being put out to pasture, and she can’t help but wonder if the lie she told to get her there is finally catching up with her.
Keli is Noah’s sister and has been ghosted by a man she was dating and is now heartbroken so when she gets a call from someone claiming to be his longtime girlfriend, it adds a new level to the heartbreak, but also adds anger to the mix.
In the breakdown of the hours of the day, we see how each of the characters are struggling to deal with what life throws at them, and how their stories intertwine with each other. Tress is a set designer on Odette’s show, Keli is a nurse and happens to be at the same pub when Odette has stroke like symptoms. Noah’s ex comes back into the picture and makes him see what he really wants out of life.
Shari Low writes characters that are easy to get invested in and stories that are gripping, heartfelt, humorous at times and hard to put down. I was able to read this in one day because I couldn’t stop turning pages.

Another excellent read by the wonderful Shari Low. Her books never disappoint and never fail to make me both laugh and cry. I love how the characters come to life.

In this book, we meet again with Tress, Noah, Nancy and Vera on the first anniversary of the accident that killed Tress’ husband and maimed Noah’s wife. It is also the first birthday of Buddy, Tress’ baby.

We also meet Odette, a national treasure on a long running Scottish tv programme and her TV son, Rex.

Set over 24 hours - this is a highly entertaining and enjoyable book which I have no qualms in recommending. It’s perfect for curling up with and losing yourself in for a few hours.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Beautifully written book with lovely characters and their life throughout twenty-four hours. I loved the humor, sarcasm, and emotional growth of every four characters, Odette Noah Tress and Keli. At first, I was intrigued about the big characters list and their introductions at the beginning, but I think that was for a better understanding. Noah and Tress truly deserve each other, and the ending is superb with all the loose threads tied together perfectly. Thanks, Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC of the book in exchange for an honest review.

One Year After You is the ‘sequel’ to One Day With You but it can be read as a standalone. I have not read One Day With You but I did not miss anything as the background story was richly detailed.

I loved the introduction of the characters at the beginning. There was no confusion about who is who. I also loved that the events in the book took place in 24 hours.

This was drama through and through. It follows the story of friends, coworkers and neighbours in a Glasgow neighbourhood.

There is grief, betrayal and comedy laced through. The characters are very relatable and they delivered exactly what was required of them. You can’t help but be invested in all of their stories.

It was interesting to read about the connection between the characters. I love how it celebrates friendship and love. The super sweet end was an icing on the cake.

This book is perfect for fans of women’s fiction, cozy drama and second chance romance.

I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and the review is mine and voluntary.

I only recently discovered Shari Low this is the second book I have read of hers — but I love her writing. I didn`t realize this book was a sequel to `One Day with You` — which I admittedly didn`t read beforehand-- and others recommend reading it, but I don't feel that it was necessary and could easily be read as a stand-alone. The book is written from four people’s POV — Oddette, Tress, Noah and Kelli— and follows them through this one day — one year after Tress`s husband Max was killed in a car accident while driving with his mistress, Anya ( the wife) of Noah Clark who was heartbroken and shocked to learn Anya was having an affair with his best friend, Max. Odette Devine is an actress on Scotland's longest-running television show. She can't help but wonder if this is the price, she must pay for a lie she once told- she is also searching for an old friend. Keli Clark (Noah's sister) has recently been ghosted by a man she was seeing. — everyone is interconnected ---Following everyone’s POV over this one day was gripping and I couldn`t put down the book— there was a driving need to know what would happen to each character’s life and how they would all be interconnected with each other— I can`t wait to read more of this author’s books!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC. This is my honest review.

The first book was brilliant, and this follow-up one was too! Shari Low is very talented at creating characters that you can truly care about, and the way they all linked up with each other was carried out so well.

I enjoyed seeing where all of the characters had ended up; the pacing of the storylines was on point and the ending was super sweet. I would definitely recommend both this book and the author ❤️

Oh my goodness this book is tremendous! The way the author has written this book, I have never seen before but I absolutely loved it! Fantastic characters! One of the best reads!

I hadn't read the book that cane before this but the author set the scene effectively so that this did not matter. The book is told from multiple perspectives within the same 24 hour period and all characters are linked in some way. There is Odette, actress on a Scottish soap for 4p years navigating her final day. There.is Tress, grieving widow and single mum and her best friend Noah. Then there is Noah's sister, Kali, who has been ghosted by her boyfriend of three months.
Expertly entwined stories, this was a pacy, easy read.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me access to this arc in exchange for a review. Before reading this, I read One Day With You and I immediately needed to know how this story ended. I’m so glad I got to read One Year After You because I definitely got the closure I needed. While the ending is predictable, as most love stories are, the unique way these stories were told in a 24 hour time frame, and the connection to the characters make them stand out. To anyone wanting to read this, please read One Day With You first! It just won’t be the same if you don’t. I highly recommend both books in this series. You’ll cry, laugh, and feel every emotion possible!

Marvelous sequel to One Day With You😍

I loved the earlier book One Day With You, which was tragic and terribly moving, and this follow-on to the characters' lives is even better because it ends on a much more positive note and, for some, sweet revenge. Yes, the characters have a challenging 24 hours on the first anniversary of two events that changed most of their lives: the birth of little Noah/Buddy and the car accident that broke two families apart. But author Shari Low has added to the mix a Scottish soap opera diva down on her luck and a nurse with a romantic dilemma that just gets bigger and odder as the day moves and in two hour segments, she alternates moving all of their often intersecting stories forward.

I think it's brilliant the way the author makes every character she introduces matter to the plot, be they dinner ladies, ruthless leading men or diva Odette's trusted chauffeur. And the number of characters is not too great to easily keep them all straight. And, yes, there's a good lot of action but she doesn't neglect the internal emotions roiling in the minds of her characters.

I found this a real treat. It would be good standing on its own but I really recommend reading the earlier novel to understand fully why most of the main characters, like Noah, Tress, Nancy and Val, are so involved in each other's lives.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Lovely book. 4 parallel stories all come together for a great ending.

I loved Noah, handsome doctor, who knows his mind and loyal to his friend Tress and her little baby. Tress was also quite awesome. She's able to move forward from her husband's Betrayal and death.

Glad these two got the ending they deserved.

Brilliant, loved it. I didn’t realise it was a sequel until I had read the intro page.
This book can be read as a stand alone if you haven’t read the first book, one day with you, but it definitely makes more sense if you do and following the characters individual stories
Don’t want to go into to detail and spoil it except to say you won’t be disappointed

One Liner: A touching read (should work as standalone)

09th Feb 2024
Odette Devine is a glamorous matriarchal actress on Scotland’s longest-running TV show. However, it’s her last day on the show. She is also broke and clueless about her future. She wonders if it’s a payback for the betrayal forty years ago.
It has been a year since Max Walker died in the car crash on the day she gave birth to their son. Tress is yet to fully recover from the news of his long-term affair and that he was with the woman when the accident happened.
Noah Clark might seem to have everything going well on the surface. However, he is struggling to get over the news of his wife having an affair with his best friend. And when she visits him, asking for another chance, can he do it?
Keli Clark is being ghosted by the man she loves. She is stalking him online and has her suspicions but hesitates to make a decision. However, an expected message forces her to acknowledge things and decide. What should she do?
How will the lives of these people converge on a single day?
The story comes in the third-person POV of Odette, Tress, Noah, and Keli.

My Thoughts:
The book takes place a year after ‘One Day With You’. It’s the anniversary of Max’s death and his son’s birthday. Tress and Noah are doing their best to move on from the betrayal of their spouses and provide the kids with a stable family.
This book can be read as a standalone since there is enough backstory to provide the necessary information. However, it will help if you read the earlier one. That way, you can understand the dynamics between the characters (especially Tress and Noah) and appreciate Nancy and Val even more.
I don’t remember if Keli was in the other book, but she gets her own POV here. Odette is a new addition. All four tracks come together in the last quarter to deliver the finale.
Noah and Keli’s mom, Glinda, has only a couple of scenes. Now she’s the kind of mom one should have. Despite having limited space, she makes a super strong impression.
The book deals with many themes like love, loss, betrayal, adultery, cheating, heartbreak, moving on, grief, anger, hope, etc. There’s enough lighthearted stuff to prevent the contents from getting too emotional.
The backstory is repetitive and slows the pacing. It is necessary since this one doesn’t seem to be marketed as a sequel. Those who remember the previous book can skim through the info dump and finish the book faster (like me).
I don’t agree with the idea of not telling Buddy about Max’s infidelity but sharing everything else about him. The kid needs to know what his mom went through. The last thing she would need is for the son to build a shrine for his ‘flawless’ dead father. Keep it real!
An epilogue (set after a week) ties up everything and concludes individual threads with satisfaction.

To summarize, One Year After You is a worthy read with important themes. The resolution is quite easy, but considering the genre, it is more than fine.
I wasn’t expecting a sequel, TBH. The previous book had a good epilogue with a hopeful ending. Still, this was a good continuation with an HFN ending.
Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

I absolutely loved this book! I read it in two sittings & I want more!
A sequel to One Day With You, which was also an incredible book. Read this one first & enjoy. I'm not going to give a synopsis, as You must read it to find out.
I do love all of Shari Low's books, but this is something special, If you only read one book this year, make it this one.

I love love love Shari Low and her books. I’ve never not enjoyed one! Each book has a twist in it you don’t see coming and you end up hooked to the end!
One year after you is a sequel where we meet Tress and Noah again, it’s one year on and it shows how their lives have carried on after the death of her husband Max and Noah’s best friend.
I love the way Shari tells her chapters from different perspectives and we learn how they all interlink. She is absolutely my favourite author!

All taking place during a 24 hour period, you see the lives changing of four central characters.

It has been exactly one year since Tressa’s husband Max was killed in a car accident while she was in labour with their son. Max was in the car with his mistress Anya, who also happened to be the wife of his best friend Noah.
Noah was there for Tressa during the birth of her son, and the two have been helping each other through their grief and anger and to support each other as they learn to move on with their lives.

Odette is an aging actress being forced into retirement and is coming head to head with some regrets in her life.

Kelli (Noah’s sister) is a nurse working at the same hospital as her brother, and finds herself with a secret she can no longer keep.

One Year After You is a sequel to One Day With You. I had no idea and haven’t read the first book. Although I’m sure there is more to the story, the author did a great job at reminding the reader what happened that I don’t feel like I was missing anything.

Don’t be fooled by the cover. This is not a light book. There is love and grief and laughter and regret and it will totally hook you right from the beginning.

Thank you to Boldwood Books, NetGalley and the author for providing me with this ARC to preview.
