Last year I read and reviewed One Day with You by Shari Low and adored it. It reminded me of Regretting You by Colleen Hoover, only I felt satisfied at the end instead of completely frustrated. In the follow-up, One Year After You, we catch up with Tress and Noah as well as meet a few new characters that bring new excitement to the sequel. Many readers, myself included, saw a potential love story between Tress and Noah after the conclusion of the first book. The sequel reveals that many side characters have been rooting for the two to get together as well, but there’s room for plenty of bumps along the way.

Sweet story that made my heart happy. Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for a review.

Fantastic!

This book picks up one year after "One Day with You" ended. If you haven't already read it, I recommend reading it before this one. It's not mandatory, as the author has included enough backstory, but I consider it to be a 5-star read and well worth it.

On Buddy's first birthday, which also happens to be the one year anniversary of Max's death, Tress is caught in conflicting emotions. Noah is still her best friend, has been since the day that his wife and her husband were in a horrific car accident that killed Max and destroyed Noah's marriage. Tress is blessed to have her son Buddy with her, but knows she and Buddy will have a difficult path to follow in life. How will she explain his father's death?

Tress also has a new-ish job, 6 months ago she began working as a set designer on a popular soap. She's become friendly with several of the actors, Odette, the lead matriarch and Rex, her son. Several things happen to cause conflicting emotions in that arena as well, but I won't write spoilers.

I enjoyed this book. I love that Val and Nancy are still being honorary grandmothers to Buddy, ever encouraging a relationship between Noah and Tress that they're both convinced will never happen. Odette's character is stereotypically soap matriarch, and believable. Rex is a cad. This was a fast moving, emotional read and I recommend it.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

I am a huge fan of the author Shari Low. Her books always make me feel I am being drawn in to the stories of her fabulous characters. I lose myself in her books and am always at a loss as to what to read after I finish a Shari Low book as there are a hard act to follow!

This book follows on from one day with you, one year to the day after the death of a husband, the betrayal of best friends the break up of a marriage and the birth of Noah otherwise known as Buddy. We find out how Tess & Noah are a year on from the day that changed their lives for ever, and all the people who are part of their family. Nancy & Val return as the most formidable Aunties who are loyal and fierce in the protection of their nearest and dearest, a comedy duo with hearts of gold, they will make you laugh and your heart happy, if only we all had a Val and Nancy in our lives.

Throw in a glamorous TV actress whose career is coming to an end and has big decisions to make and this book has everything you will ever need!

Brilliant writing, characters and story, if you need a good book to curl up with this is it!

this was my first shari low book and i had no idea that this book ties in with her other one! I’m very glad it was also readable as a standalone because i enjoyed it a lot. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters so well; Noah, Tress, Odette, and Keli are all characters you want to get to know more about & instantly love. Set over the course of one day, One Year After You is sure to be a hit!

many thanks to #NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the arc! #OneYearAfterYou

The course of this book takes place over a 24-hour period. Four characters will see their lives change during that time. One Year After You is the gripping continuation of events that occurred in the unforgettable One Day With You book. Can this book be read as a standard-alone? It can be but you will be missing so much backstory that I highly recommend reading One Day With You first.

It has been one year since Tress Walker’s husband was killed in a car accident while driving with his mistress, Anya. Tress was in labor when her husband died and learned after of his infidelity and death. Noah Clark was heartbroken and shocked to learn his wife Anya was having an affair with his best friend, Max. He was with Tress while she gave birth and they have been close ever since.

Odette Devine is an actress on Scotland's longest running television show. But she has been informed that her time on the show is over. She can't help but wonder if this is the price, she must pay for a lie she once told.

Keli Clark (Noah's sister) has recently been ghosted by a man she was seeing. She is heartbroken, which leads to devastation and anger when a stranger reaches out to her.

I was fully invested in this book from the very first page. I wanted to know more about the characters, their plight, their struggles, their triumphs, and for some, how their lives have changed since the events in One Day With You. Shari Low did not disappoint, in fact she dazzled. I found this book to be gripping, heartfelt, humorous, hopeful, dramatic, and hard to put down. I enjoyed the characters, even the ones I didn't care for as they were so brilliantly described and presented on page.

This is the second Shari Low book that I have read, and I am kicking myself for not reading more of her books. I need to remedy that. She writes characters that I grew to care about, I was rooting for some and enjoyed booing and hissing at others. I appreciated how her books deal with serious topics and themes but also have fun and light moments in them as well. I also appreciated how the author addressed the character's loss, heartbreak, hope, grief, anger, and happiness. That made the characters feel authentic.

Well written, gripping, hard to put down and unforgettable.

I had not realised this was a follow up to a previous book so i was immediately on the back foot. I have a feeling i will be in the minority but i'm afraid i just didn't gel with this story. I found myself flicking through which is never a good sign. My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy. Hate leaving negative reviews but sadly here we are......

On one day in February, the lives of several unrelated people are forever changed. Odette Devine, star of a long running evening soap opera, will retire. Her younger co-star Rex Marino will learn that looks, charisma and ambition are not a substitute for character. Set designer and single mother Tress Walker will have survived an entire year since the death of her husband and birth of her son on the same day. Her friend Noah Clark will end one relationship and start another while his sister Keli will confront a problem and save a life.

One Year After You is a jewel of a book, a gift to readers! It’s beautifully written and full of emotion. Heartbreak, love, joy, worry, laughter and jealousy fill the hours of this all too short day. You won’t be able to put this one down! 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Shari Low for this ARC.

Shari Low writes the best stories ever. This is the story of Tress and Noah; one year after both of them discovered their partners were cheating on them with each other. Both a navigating life and taking steps to move on and this is a day in their lives exactly one year after the death of Tress’ husband Max; the day that their son Buddy born. This book was amazing; I devoured it ok one day.

For forty years, the fabulous Odette Devine has been a beloved matriarchal actress on Scotland's longest running TV show. Today she is broken, betrayed, and desperate to find out if this is her payback for the lie she told forty years ago.

A year ago today, Tress Walker's husband was killed in a car accident, on the same day she gave birth to their baby. Reeling from the discovery that he was with his mistress, Tress has to choose whether to protect her fragile heart or open it to love again.

Noah Clark was devastated to discover his wife and his best friend were having an affair. Now, the love of his life is asking for another chance to make their marriage work. But can there ever be a way back once the trust is broken?

Noah's sister Keli Clark has recently been ghosted by the man she loves. When a shocking message from a complete stranger reveals the reason why, Keli will have to decide whether to forgive, forget, or make sure he pays.

Twenty-four hours. Four shocking secrets. One tumultuous tale of love, loss and second chances.

This story is filled with interesting characters who were all facing their own demons and dilemmas. This story is well-written and told over a twenty-four-hour period. This is an easy and addictive book to read. It's also one of those books where you say just one more chapter, but one chapter is never enough. A thoroughly enjoyabe read.

At the start of this book when you get introduced to the many characters, with their age and connection to others, it blew me away. But as the story evolved it was quite clear who was who and everything started to piece together. It was a truly wonderful story which I devoured within 24 hours. So full of Drama, definitely with a capital D!!! Lots of romance and comedy too, a fabulous combination. Wow, what a difference a year makes. A fantastic read, another great book by Shari Low.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for allowing me an advanced copy to read in exchange for my open and honest review. As always, my reviews will also be posted on Amazon, Goodreads and Waterstones and interaction on Facebook and instagram where possible.

What a wonderful feeling when you realise that the new book carries on from the ending of a previous one I enjoyed immensely.
Like sitting down for a catch up with old friends. Following what has happened to tress, noah and other family members over the past year as they rebuilt lives and moved forwards.
New jobs, friendship and old secrets are explored.
Please let there be another book following other family members.

A story formed on secrets that had me gripped.

Noah, betrayed by his wife and left to support his best friend’s family.

Noah’s sister Keli, who is hiding a couple of secrets of her own.

Odette’s career may be ending but is it karma?

Tress, betrayed by her husband in the worst way possible, is considering dating again.

I devoured this story and really enjoyed all the storylines and how they all came together.

Would recommend.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review.

One Year After You is a sequel to Shari Low's - One Day With You.
To be able to get the most out of the sequel the first book should be read before One Year After You - although there are lots of recaps in the new book.
It's the first year after Max's death and it's coming up to baby Noah (Buddy's) first birthday - Tress is navigating the stages of loss but can she move on from Max?
Noah is still in the first bloom of love or is it like with Cheska - will he be able to give his all to her or will Tress and Buddy continue to dominate the space in his heart?
There are two new characters - Kelli - Noah's younger sister who is also a nurse who works in the same hospital and Odette - a TV legend who is on the verge of retirement, she is also hiding a secret which could blow her world apart.

Low is a master of words and her novels are perfect escapist reads. Each characters events twist and turn around each other and there is a lovely twist at the end of the novel.
Another hit for Low!

One Year After You is the latest read by Shari Low, and a follow up to last year's One Day With You. You wouldn't necessarily have to have read the first book but I highly recommend you do.

As always with a Shari Low book, this is another page turner and I read it in a weekend. Easy to follow, the story is broken down into two hourly sections following the 4 main characters Tress, Noah, Odette, and Keli. It's always a pleasure to meet old characters and new. Some you'll love, others not so much, but it a good way.

Great read.

Whenever I finish a Shari Low book I always wonder what happens to the characters. My wish was answered when I began reading “One Year After You.” I fell in love with best friends Tress and Noah from a previous book and I was thrilled to find out that they would be featured in Ms. Low’s new book. Tress had experienced a devastating tragedy a year ago when her son was born and Noah stood by her side as she dealt with her grief. We now meet Noah’s sister Keli, a nurse, who had recently been ghosted by the man she had been seeing. I wondered how our last character, Odette, a famous actress, would fit into the storyline, but I never expected such a wild ride of twist and turns involving her storied career.

Ms. Low once again tells a story that takes place in one short, twenty-four hours. We meet Odette who is dealing with changes in her career and we join Tress as she ventures out into the working world. Noah has a decision to make about his future and his sister Keli, has a secret she is keeping from everyone. I desperately wanted Tress to be happy with her new job as she got used to her role as a single mom. Noah is a man who is admired by many women who all want to be his one and only. He spends the book dealing with his love life while his sister found a new friend who joined her in pursuit of the truth. I feel sorry for Odette’s many regrets but by the end of the book we get to know the real woman behind the makeup and bright lights. All of Ms. Low’s books are unforgettable and I know that I will never forget these wonderful characters who tugged at my heart and made me smile!!

Absolutely loved being back in Shari’s World!

It’s a year after the best and worst night of Tress and Noah’s life. It’s time for them both to choose what they’re going to do next!

As always I loved the returning characters, always love Val!

And a whole host of fabulous new characters to meet too.

I love how you always feel like you’ve had a big catch up with a friend after reading one of Shari’s books. I can’t wait for the next one!

Reading a Shari Low book is akin to meeting up with your friends, you feel you know the characters so well. And it's even more the wonderful when they are characters that you fell in love with in a previous novel.
One year on from the tragedy that befell Tress and Noah, we meet them again in Tress's kitchen celebrating Buddy's first birthday, a bittersweet day for all involved but they are determined to move on with life. Thankfully Shari has also brought back Janet and Val, the best friends and protective neighbours to Tress.
Many of Shari's novels are set over just one day which makes them an easy read. Be prepared to not move from the sofa until you've finished though.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the advanced copy, I am under no obligation to leave my review

So often we say goodbye to characters we’ve become friends with over the course of a great story and we never get a chance to find out how they are faring later on. Author Shari Low has given readers the chance to revisit her characters and see how their choices impacted them (and those around them) and how the trajectory of their lives has changed from when we last met them. I loved the chance to see continued character arcs and continued growth.

What I loved:

❤️continuation of Max & Tress and Noah & Anya’s stories from ‘One Day With You’
❤️second chances
❤️shocking secrets
❤️pacey read
❤️emotional connection
❤️connecting with characters' struggles
❤️opportunity to increase empathy/sympathy
❤️realizing that struggles come at any age - none of us are immune!

Another winner from a trusted author!
