Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.

This is going to become a new comfort read for me - I fell head over heels with this book and I refuse to come back 😂
Without saying too much because of spoilers, this book takes us back to Emily and Wendell who have returned to Cambridge after the adventures of Book 1. They are soon off onto their next adventure to Austria, this time with Emily's niece Ariadne, and their fellow Professor Farris Rose (and of course Emily's dog Shadow) in tow.
For me, I enjoyed Book 1, but this took it to another level. For me, if Book 1 was about setting the world up, now it's time for the true adventures to begin. I fell in love with Emily and Wendell in this story, and the addition of the new characters was just a joy!
I can't believe I now have to wait so long until Book 3 - looks like there will be lots of rereads in my future, ha ha!

The first book of the series was really nice to read. This one not so much.
The characters were just not made for more than one book in my opinion.
I think it was nice to get to know more about Wendels history but that’s about it.
The writing style of the book is not that nice to read. Diary entries are just not that smooth to read if you read it over 300 pages long.
The plot was not bad, just not that nice to follow. If you loved the first one, maybe read this one, but if you didn’t like the first one that much, in my opinion, maybe think about it, before you buy it.

Brilliant, brilliant sequel. Just as delightful as the first, it was lovely to sink back into the faerie world and into the wry journals of Emily Wilde. I could hardly put it down, and eagerly await the third book - Poe and Shadow are still my favourites.

Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries was such a charming and whimsical book. I was absolutely enchanted by the cosy atmosphere, the magic and obviously, the faeries. I was beyond excited to continue the series.
I was delighted when Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands exceeded all of my expectations. It is somehow even more magical and vivid than the first. This sequel follows the latest adventure of Emily and Wendell, who are joined by a new cast of characters that I quickly warmed to. They search for a hidden door to faerie so that Wendell may return to his home and reclaim his throne. If you loved book one, then you are in for a real treat!
I can't wait to join Emily and Wendell on their next adventure in book three!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

An utter joy to read! Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands is a cosy fantasy that is just as whimsical and magical as Fawcett's first Emily Wilde book. This story continues off where Emily left off in the look for Wendell's door with a new lot of villagers, some familiar faces and a whole host of new magical creatures!
I adore Emily and her unusual ways. She's a very different fantasy heroine. Whilst she shows great fortitude, she is still flawed and weak at times. Her relationship with Wendell is one of my favourite fantasy couplings! I thoroughly enjoyed and cannot wait for the next installment!

I absolutely loved Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries, so I was very excited to read Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands. This sequel lived up to all my expectations, and it’s my favourite of the trilogy so far. I don’t have a single negative thing to say about it!
As this is the second book in a series I obviously won’t spoil anything here, so I’ll just say that if you liked Encyclopaedia of Faeries, you’ll love Map of the Otherlands. It’s just as whimsical and exciting, with fantastic writing and characters who continue to be as charming as you’ve come to expect. Emily and Wendell are an absolute joy to spend three hundred pages with, as are the two new additions who help them on their perilous quest.
This book continues to explore the world of Faerie and everything it encompasses, from cute little creatures (an old favourite may even return!), nasty murderous species, magic, enchantments, and a brand new location or two. I love anything Fae, so for me this was like reading a perfect book — I really enjoyed learning about Wendell’s side of things, and, like Emily, I was immediately drawn to the mysteries of the Otherlands.
Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands is an utterly fantastic read, and manages to be even better than its predecessor. It’s fast-paced, exciting, and romantic all at the same time, with an elegant prose that really makes it seem like you’re reading something special. I can’t wait for the last book in the series, and I have no doubt it’ll be worth the wait. Let the countdown begin!

I have no idea how Heather has topped the first book in the series but Map of the Otherlands was a pure JOY to read. From Wendell's predicament to the roaming Faeries of the Alps (and beyond). I imagine that my returning to Emily and Wendell is a similar feeling to how they feel upon returning to Faerie. Cozy fantasy with pure love and contentment at its heart. Reading 'will return in Book 3' made my heart soar.

Having read the first book in this series and loving it I was so excited to receive this arc.
This follows on from the first story and was just as whimsical, magical and fun as its predecessor. The writing. Settings and characters are written so well and the premise is so cute. I like all the extra notes for context as well
If you liked the first book you’re sure to like this too
Thanks to NetGalley for this arc

This series is insane, and I absolutely love it! The writing style is brilliant, and the world building continued to be rich and vibrant. These books should become absolute fantasy classics, they are a total joy to read.
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

This was an absolute delight!! It more than lived up to expectations after book 1. I love the dynamic between Emily and Wendell, and much like Snowbell, I can't wait to be part of more of their 'quests' in book 3!

Firstly, thank you to NetGalley and Little Brown Book Group for letting me read the eARC of Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett. The following review is my own opinion.
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries was my favourite read of this year. Which meant I was eagerly awaiting the second book of the series! And let me tell you, the second instalment, Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands, DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!
Everything I loved about the first, the banter, the lore, the necessity to study the unknown, continued on to the second. I will forever want to return to the world of Emily and Wendell. BRING ME THE THIRD!

I absolutely adore Emily, she’s just such a wholesome character and I love how headstrong she is. Sometimes she is definitely her own worst enemy though. I can understand her frustrations with Wendall but you just can’t help but love him. I was super happy to see the return of Poe and Shadow, the best side characters! The new additions of Professor Rose and Ariadne were welcomed too, they definitely helped keep Emily grounded. I did find the storyline of getting into Wendall’s realm dragged a bit then seemed to be over very quickly but apart from that I have 0 complaints!
I can’t wait to see Emily again in book 3!

This book, you guys!! It's perfection made on paper. I love how we get more of Emily in this book but also that new characters get introduced! That adds so much to the reading experience and pacing, very well done! Also the warm and cozy atmosphere with a little bit of grumpyness every here and there had my heart melting, the vibe is immaculate! The timing for the release seems perfect in my opinion and I can't wait to gush over it everywhere once it's out!

A lot of books usually either have a super good beginning or an amazing end. It's pretty rare for me to find one that has both but this defiantly had such a great beginning and all the way through pace that kept me wanting to keep reading like crazy and it also had an unforgettable ending.

Emily Wilde’s Map of The Otherlands is a fantastic continuation of the first book, upping the scholarly exploration into the Fae, the chaotic quests, as well as the romance and bonds between the characters, which is something I really appreciated. The introduction of Ariadne’s character was something I particularly enjoyed, and am glad we get to see Emily develop her personal relationships in this way.
In my review for Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia Of Faeries, I wrote that it was if the month of September was a book - cosy autumnal fantasy paired with light academia as the new school year begins. It very much delights me that Map of the Otherlands reminded me of the new year where semester 2 starts and the stakes are heightened. The fact it has a January release is extremely satisfying.
The romance was of course a highlight for me. I’m so glad we get to see it develop further in this instalment and am excited to see where it goes in Book 3.
Thank you to Little, Brown Book Group and NetGalley for providing me with an eARC. All opinions are my own.

I loved this book it was every i expected but also better ,I love emily and wendell's banter and am glad they didn't lose any of their charms in this book ,I love that new characters were introduced but never took away from the main point or from the characters ,I don't want to say much about the plot because I don't want to ruin anything but it's definitely worth the read and is just or more enjoyable then the first

This second book, as much as it could be considered a link between the first and the third which will be set in the realm of Faerie, is definitely a valid novel in itself that, personally, I enjoyed very much. First of all, the relationship between Wendell and Emily is enriched with nuance and detail, moreover, the secondary characters are up to the main ones, and the adventures in which all the players incur are well written and hard to stop reading. So I would say a success on all fronts.
I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.

I loved Emily Wilde 1 and so was thrilled to have a chance to read an early copy of book 2--and boy did it live up to my extremely high expectations. It was just as charming and warm (without ever crossing into twee) with delicious sprinklings of darkness, the characters both major and minor just as loveable, the dynamic between Emily and Wendell just as delightful. The overall trajectory and character + relationship development felt spot on for a middle book, as well as making for a very fun and satisfying volume in its own right. I had a fabulous time and can't wait for book 3!
Huge thanks to Little, Brown UK and NetGalley for the eARC!

I loved this book just as much as the first one!
Fawcett’s storytelling continues to be extremely pleasant. She knows how to write compelling characters and introduce their arcs in satisfactory ways into a bigger story, weaving them all together. The relationship between Emily and Wendell picks up from where it ended in the last book and it’s great to join them as they explore their connection and learn more about each other. I also really liked to see more of Emily and Shadow’s bond! The new characters (humans and faeries alike) were all very distinct from each other and had their own personalities.
With every new installment of the series, Fawcett continues to weave an intrinsic and rich world. I can’t wait to see what she’ll do next and what new adventures Emily Wilde will find!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for giving me an e-ARC of this book to review.

I loved this just as much as the first book.
I adore the characters and I really enjoyed the new characters. The pacing was really good it never felt slow in parts.
I just love Emily and Wendell’s relationship but also Emily’s bond with shadow.
I can’t wait for book 3
