Make Her Pay is a deliciously twisted psychological thriller that takes revenge to dark, uncomfortable levels.
Fiona’s quest for justice becomes an obsession, and the further she spirals, the more you question her sanity—and your own moral compass. With every decision, the story dives deeper into chaos, leaving hanging onto the edge of your sofa, half-reading through your fingers, and wondering if anyone in this mess deserves redemption.
It's fast-paced, suspenseful, and laced with enough dark humor to make you laugh at the absurdity of it all. If you love thrillers that flirt with the morally questionable, this one’s a wild, addictive ride.

Leonie is a glorified Estate Agent working in her father’s business who seems to have everything. On top of that she meets the apparently perfect man who is selling his big property and rapidly becomes her husband. But as you’d expect in a Miranda Rijks yarn, there are dark secrets all over the place - one or two bordering on the absurd. Switching between London and Northumberland the narrative rattles along at pace

It intrigues me to read books about past crimes coming back to haunt you. Love the sense of payback in a retribution type way. This book may have felt a little too dramatic in parts but was well worth the read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC

This read was a roller coaster ride. A true revenge tale. While I found the read entertaining I did find it simplistic. Nothing that was happening felt like a surprise or a mystery to be solved. Which is something I typically enjoy in my thrillers. But this one was straightforward and still very enjoyable.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of Make Her Pay by Miranda Rijiks in exchange for my honest review and opinion. When I saw this available to request I was beyond excited as I love this author and couldn't wait to read this. This book starts out with lots of craziness and the twists and turns will absolutely blow your mind. Needless to say once again she does not disappoint with this latest release. I enjoyed every minute of it and can't wait for her to release another thriller.

Great story with lots of twists and turns which I really enjoyed.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley.

Leonie, a young woman trying to live her best life after a tragic past, is being stalked. Odd things start happening but who is behind them? I really liked this one. It was suspenseful and fun to read. I will be looking for more thrillers written by Ms. Rijks.

I love a vengeful plot and this didn’t disappoint! Both main characters had their faults but you could sympathise with them. Leonie was unfortunately a product of parental control which was detrimental to her in her adult life, we see her break free from the chains of her parents wealth. Markus was a great twist of a character, I didn’t expect it to go where it did with him!
Nice easy read packed full of drama, I really enjoyed :)

I was very intrigued in the beginning and held on because I really wanted to know what happened to the characters. This book had its fair share of ups and downs and the characters were a bit annoying. I enjoy Miranda Rijks’ writing style because she usually has me on the edge of my seat. This one wasn’t my favorite, but I’ll keep reading her books.

Leonie made a mistake 1o years ago that her father helped cover up and now she has met the man of her dreams and so begins the revenge, twists and turns!

I very much enjoyed this twisted tale of revenge. The characters were little annoying at times but this gave the story an extra element of intrigue as you try to work out what is going on.

Loved how quickly this progressed and how it switched between two characters points of views. This one had me guessing till the very end. Very well written.

A quick read book, chapters with different points of view. I like chapters like this so we can better understand motivation and what each person is thinking. Regarding the story, I was curious to know if revenge really happens and what it would be like. I expected a different ending to the story, but I enjoyed reading it.
This is the first book I've read by the author, so I don't know much about her writing, but I'm interested in following her work by reading other books.
Thanks to netgalley for the copy.

This gave me 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' vibes, and it was absolutely thrilling to read! Miranda Rijks is brilliant!

Thankyou to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read this book.
I really really enjoyed this title!
It has everything you want, suspense, intrigue, double crossing and betrayal.
This book had it all!
Found myself getting whip lash with this book thinking I knew what was happening but boy I was wrong!
I found this to be a very good psychological thriller, grabbed me from the very beginning. Lots of suspenseful twists which kept me intrigued. It was definitely a page turner and I really enjoyed reading this book.
5/5

Thank you for this ARC.
I've read lots of Miranda's books and for me this one didn't live up to expectations - sorry! It is very similar to other books around.
But this happens with most authors so keep writing and I will wait for the next one - hopefully!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. I typically enjoy Rijks writing style so I was excited to get this early copy. The perfect life with a dark past trope has been overdone in my opinion. This was no exception, it's too similar to so many books I have recently. I gave it a fair shot and was a bit disappointed. Quite predictable.

“Make Her Pay” by Miranda Rijks is a gripping psychological thriller centered around Leonie, a woman with a seemingly perfect life that begins to unravel due to a dark secret from her past. Ten years ago, Leonie was involved in a fatal car accident and fled the scene. As she prepares for her wedding, strange events suggest someone knows about her past and is out to get her.

Make Her Pay by Miranda Rijks is a dark and twisted psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story follows protagonist, Stephanie, whose life is turned upside down when her daughter is kidnapped. As she races against time to rescue her daughter, Stephanie uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal that leads her to a shocking revelation. Rijks' writing is fast-paced and suspenseful, with an intricate plot that keeps you guessing until the very end. The tension and suspense build with each chapter, making it impossible to put the book down. Make Her Pay is a gripping and thrilling read that will leave you breathless and questioning just how far a mother will go to save her child.

Leonie is beautiful, wealthy, and smart. She runs her “own” business (that her dad helped her start and manage) and she meets a gorgeous, wealthy man who she falls head over heels for in a fast-paced relationship. But she’s hiding something from him and from everyone else-when she was 16, she borrowed her mom’s car and got into an accident where someone was left for dead.
Carrie has had a rough life and just can’t catch a break until she finds the person responsible for all her problems and decides to take revenge.
In theory, this book should work. But neither Leonie nor Carrie were characters I connected with. Leonie is supposed to be smart (went to Oxford) but never looked into the accident? Never talked to a lawyer? Never pushed back on her overly controlling father? And Carrie blamed everyone for her problems instead of taking responsibility for a portion of the shitty hand she was dealt.
And nothing was remotely plausible. I lost count of how many times I rolled my eyes and the ridiculous plans or events.
And the writing was not what I was hoping for. All this telling. Never showing. Not great. Feel free to skip this one and all its implausibility.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my honest opinion in exchange for an ARC.
