I was drawn to the engaging color photo on the cover of this guide. The self-published author’s description also held promise:
“Embark, on a journey into the very heart of our planet with 'Exploring Earths Secrets; Comprehensive Guide to Geology .' This comprehensive book serves as your gateway to the captivating world of geology. From the core of the Earth to the landscapes that adorn its surface this book takes you on an exhilarating exploration of the powerful forces that have shaped our planet for billions of years.” The key word here is “gateway.” The book IS full of information, but it is merely an organized outline defining the components of the earth’s composition, branches of geology, and applications of the science. There are no diagrams or illustrations within to help put the lists of data into perspective, and the book apparently went to press without proofreading. It was not an “exhilarating exploration.”

This book provides a captivating journey through the Earth's inner workings, taking readers from the depths of the planet to the surface landscapes sculpted by geological forces. The author's expertise shines through, making complex geological concepts accessible and engaging.

This book is a good overview of geological terms and processes of earth formation. It reads in a glossary-type foundation, which makes for easy reading. The terminology used is good for young geology students, without the hefty geological words attached. It is a good introductory book on most things geological. A recommended read for beginners.
