All together I like this book.
I like our MC Quinn and loved her cousin Liv and aunt Betty, these two were funny, supportive and just all around lovely.
I liked that besides the romance plot there was a focus on Quinns health journey and her future.
I did not like the love interest one bit. In the beginning he comes across as an entitled ass and only develops to be slightly less of an ass, but still very entitled. I really couldn't have cared less if they end up together or not.

A story best enjoyed by the younger generation—tweens & twenties—in my opinion. It wasn’t my usual type read, and I found the characters immature for the most part. The guys still play irresponsible pranks all the time, and the boyfriend/girlfriend banter back & forth without much regard for each others feelings. The story does have some funny moments; however, the characters need major growth to become responsible and more likeable.

3.5 ★
I really enjoyed this book! it was a cute small town romance and had many enjoyable moments and characters that made the book special.

firstly i’ll start of by saying the thing that made me give this 3.5 stars is the lack of communication throughout the book between the two MC’s. obviously a bit is sometimes needed if you’re planning on a third act breakup/fight/disagreement but i felt like it was really overdone in this and about 2/3 of the book was about them just not communicating properly, and thus leading to what i would say were unnecessary fights.

however, i really enjoyed the small town aspect of this and i adored how close all the characters in the town were to eachother and the way that they should try to help each other out as much as they could. the dynamics were really fun to read about and they helped this book stick out to me! i did really enjoy the two MC’s and liked how they had they own things going for them and didn’t let the other (really) come in the way of their ambitions and goals.

overall if you’re looking for a cute, small town, romance, ya quick read i would really recommend this book.

Sunshine in book form. This is a perfect cosy small town romance that fans of Gilmore Girls will adore! Even though I was reading it in the dead of winter, this book felt like a summer breeze with its excellent cast of characters, cozy second chance romance plot, and well written narrative.

I would very happily read a whole series of this!

Never Getting Back Together was a decent second chance romance story about two highschool sweethearts that broke up after a huge fight/misunderstanding due to the words said. First, I want to say I appreciate the author for showing representation with her characters health issue. Sometimes when authors have characters with health problems that becomes their whole personality as a character and with Quinn I didn’t get that.
This story was a quick 200 pages or less. So, I felt like this story was just a quick snapshot of what Ty and Quinn’s relationship is/was. As a reader I felt like I lost connection with how in love they were with each other because of how quickly they both fell back into each other. I think having a dual pov would have helped convey their connection a little more than just having Quinns perspective. Ty didn’t really come across having a personality outside of once being a class clown due to not having any other context outside of Quinn’s thoughts about him. I would have loved to know what he’s like now but from his perspective. If you are looking for something quick and sweet to read this is o e to consider outside of that it doesn’t offer to much of anything extra.

Thank you for this ARC!!

It was such a quick read, and something that I enjoyed hehe. Quinn and Ty, I was literally rooting for them since the start, and I loved how the Kelleys stuck together, it genuinely made my heart so so warm. I love how this was really a small town where everyone was there for one another. I enjoyed this so much, and I loved the characters.

"It is." I nod. "But I didn't vote for The Bourne Identity. I voted for you, Ty. If I had a million votes, I'd vote for you every single time." It hits different when the woman says it >>>

Never Getting Back Together by Krysti Meyer had me at Gilmore Girls meets Sweet Home Alabama!
A fantastic Southern romance that took me on an an amazing ride.
Quinn and Ty were just an absolute joy!
I truly loved these two together. They had a spark from the very first moment and they became combustible.
It’s packed with all the love, the family, the feeling, the swoon, and the steam, and made me feel like I was there for it all.
Each and every word, sentence, page and chapter of this book was freaking perfect.
A sweet small-town, second-chance romance that was amazing, spectacular, immaculate, romantic, funny, angsty and above all perfect!

Thank You NetGalley, Krysti Meyer and IBPA for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Just finished reading Never Getting Back Together by Krysti Meyer. I truly wish they allowed for half stars because this is a 3.5 for sure. The book was such a sweet, lighthearted read. As a major Swiftie, I can appreciate all novels that mention her, a song lyric or anything else and this book had both!
I especially loved that the story brought light to those who struggle with chronic illnesses and that diets for them can be extremely challenging.
Overall, this book is a great palette cleanser that ensures a HEA and some giggles throughout!

4/5 stars!! i really enjoyed this book as someone with a chronic illness, a gilmore girls lover, and a tswift fan. it was sweet, swoon worthy, funny, and so so cute. i found the main character slightly self absorbed at times but it seems she got over that in the end so i'm not complaining loudly. the writing was so binge worthy and this was a fun small town second chance romance. you can definitely read this in one sitting!!

“In my opinion, people severely underrate the value of predictability. Clearly, they’ve never had to live without it.”

Oh, young love. When I saw this book marketed as Gilmore Girls meets Sweet Home Alabama, I thought okay, LFGO! I will say, I hadn’t realized the age range for this book until after I read it. B&N has it marketed towards 13-18 year olds, and the main characters are 20-21. For some reason, I anticipated them being a bit older, so that skewed my perspective a little bit. Overall, I enjoyed this story. It was an easy, light read that mixed a small-town setting, a second-chance romance, humor, and education regarding chronic health conditions.

Things I loved:
- The “food as medicine” and chronic illness representation - Quinn, the FMC, has MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome), which drives her to wanting to become a nutrition counselor so that she can support others with similar conditions and struggles. I absolutely LOVED this. As someone who has struggled similarly myself, I related to Quinn in a lot of ways. I was 100% here for her cooking classes!
- The bond between the Kelley women - I loved the way Liv and Betty supported Quinn by adding both kindness and laughter into her life. Get Betty some popcorn already!
- The small-town setting - I am a sucker for watching lightning bugs light up the night sky whilst relaxing in the bed of a pickup truck, so references to those moments made me smile.

I think I struggled with simply wanting more. I would’ve loved to have learned more about Ty. I didn’t feel as connected to him as I would’ve liked, maybe because I didn’t feel like I knew much about him? I also would’ve loved more of the town so that I could fully appreciate the quirkiness being attributed to their characters. That being said, this one is a solid 3.5 stars for me, and I really hope to see more of this kind of “food as medicine” rep in books. It’s awesome!

"Never Getting Back Together" by Krysti Meyer is like receiving a golden ticket to the ultimate feel-good party! Picture this: the perfect blend of "Sweet Home Alabama" charm with a sprinkle of "Gilmore Girls" magic, all wrapped up in a delightful Southern romance. As someone who practically has "Sweet Home Alabama" on speed dial and can recite it backwards, this book was my personal dance-off with happiness.

From the get-go, I felt like I was handed a sweet treat in the form of Meyer's narrative. It's the literary equivalent of revisiting your favourite hometown carnival – filled with joy, laughter, and just the right amount of romance. With its lovable cast of characters and cosy atmosphere, the small-town setting was like slipping into a pair of well-worn, comfy pyjamas – familiar and heartwarming.

The banter between Quinn and Ty was the icing on the cake – a dance of words that made me giggle and root for their love story. It's the kind of banter that makes your heart do a happy little jig, much like the upbeat tunes at the town festival. And speaking of festivals, the sheer mention of it brought back memories of the quirky charm of Stars Hollow from "Gilmore Girls." It's a setting that feels like a warm hug, and I was ready to join in on the festivities.

As someone who believes lightning bugs are nature's disco lights, I couldn't help but smile at the mention of them lighting up the night sky. Meyer's knack for capturing these Southern nuances is like the author whispering, "Hey, remember that favourite scene from 'Sweet Home Alabama'? Well, here's a cosy reading nook version of it!"

While I twirled through the pages with joy, I couldn't help but crave a little more backstory for Ty. It's like wanting an extra scoop of your favourite ice cream – you're content, but a bit more would make it even better.

In the grand finale, "Never Getting Back Together" is the literary dance party you never knew you needed. It's a celebration of love, laughter, and the sheer delight of rediscovery, set against a backdrop that seamlessly merges Southern romance with small-town charm. If you're looking for a book to whisk you into a world of joy, consider this your VIP invitation.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Krysti Meyer, and for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I won't be publishing this review as I didn't finish the book, but my feedback is below.

Positives:
I love the disability rep in this, and liked the FMC. I also enjoyed the small town vibe.

Negatives:
Everyone else is just really shitty! Her aunt and cousin treat her sadness about her ex as a form of entertainment. Her dad is dating someone who literally tried to poison her and the FMC is just okay with that. And Ty is just nasty. I'm assuming later in the book (I dnf'd at 40%) there is going to be some reveal it was all a miscommunication, but he was so insufferable I couldn't carry on reading.

I really wanted to enjoy this, but it just made me sad to read everyone dragging on the FMC. Not for me.

4.5 stars easily

I mean, I'm normally a sucker for a good Second Chance book, but this is so much more than that. Sure, it's all about Quinn and Ty getting past their own insecurities and finally talking about their feelings to get past their own stuff and out of their heads, but it's also about Quinn and her struggle for control over her life.

Quinn has MCAS and learning about her diagnosis and how it's changed her life and how she now wants to help the lives of others living with diagnoses was just a joy to read. You can't help BUT root for Quinn. You just want her to get everything good coming to her after the hand(s) she's been dealt and it's such a rewarding journey to be on. This country for sure needs better healthcare opportunities.

When they said Gilmore Girls meets Sweet Home Alabama they weren't lying. All I could picture was the WB lot where they filmed Gilmore Girls as the town and the cast of characters felt like characters I already knew and loved. Highly recommend this book if you're in need of something light and homey and warm.

Thank you #NetGalley, Krysti Meyer, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), and Members' Titles for letting me have the ARC of this in exchange for my honest review.

Quinn has worked so hard to get her life back together after her ex-boyfriend nearly took out her future opportunities and her chronic illness was a wave of constant flare-ups, but she's finally achieving her dreams and living life to the fullest... Until said ex-boyfriend makes his way back to town...
They are NEVER getting back together. At least that's what Quinn tells herself...

THIS BOOK. Amazing. I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a non-spicy romance in a long while and I was loving every second of this book. I laughed, got angry, even teared up a few times!
There was so much more to Quinn's story than just romance; she was reaching for her dreams, dealing with her illness, spreading love and helping others in her small town; she was genuinely good, and I loved her character!

Ty was amazing too. The development that we slowly got to realise was really well paced and I loved him and even understood his desire for privacy that almost ended them all over again. There were no villains in this story, just two misunderstood, HUMAN people. They both felt so real, which made the story so enjoyable.

The writing was great; descriptive in all the five senses. I could really imagine myself in the small town setting. The story was well paced and didn't drag at all, and at the end I found myself desperate for more!

I love that the author took her own personal experience with MCAS and turned it into a story of moving forward, kicking goals and achieving dreams while helping others, in spite of a chronic illness. She's truly inspirational.

When the main character comes off as a relatable, real person, it makes a book so much more interesting. I thought it was great that she incorporated MCAS into the storyline to bring awareness. I was rooting for the main characters the whole time and loved the quirks of the small town vibe. Definitely would read something else by this author!

Thank you for the ARC🩵

This was the perfect wholesome read and exactly what I needed! I absolutely adored Quinn's family dynamic especially the banter between her, her aunt Betty and Liv. It really sucked you in and made you feel part of the family! Quinn is adorably awkward and I think a lot of girls can relate to quite a few of her embarrassing moments. I really loved the representation of different chronic conditions and how these affect every aspect of your life while sometimes remaining utterly invisible to everyone else. It can be really overwhelming when not even your favourite comfort meal is safe for you to eat anymore and I feel like this book really captures that well!
Never Getting Back Together is a super cute, easy read, packed with fun while also raising awareness for people who are living with chronic illness. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Quinn and Ty's story🩵

This was a super sweet, YA romance. I felt that the story was well paced and cute. Quinn is living in her small-town getting over her high-school boyfriend who upped and left for college a few years ago. When the two of them are forced to work together for a week, Quinn has to try really hard to remind herself why they broke up.

I was thrilled to see representation for chronic illness, it is so rarely seen in the romance genre! Also, big shout out to the author for the PERFECT Pride and Prejudice reference.

This story is quite short, so if you're looking for a bite-size romance or a palette cleanser, this would be perfect. The characters were pretty well fleshed out, well-rounded and believable, but I did feel there was a bit of an emotional disconnect from the characters, perhaps we needed to learn a bit more about their pasts?

Overall, a lovely read. I was drawn in by the cover and was pleased to find a pretty well-written novel. Krysti Meyer shows a lot of promise as a romance author.

** I received an eARC from the author. All opinions expressed are my own. **
