This was my first book by Claire Douglas and while I was initially sceptical, it turned out to be a riveting book with twists I didn't see coming.

Told from multiple POVs, it starts with a life swap of sorts of two sisters that turns into a disaster for the whole family. Tasha, our main character, is a homebody, who likes true crime and loves her family. I could relate to her.

I did consider DNFing this book because I wasn't wholly invested in the story at the beginning, but I'm glad I stuck with it. The narrative felt off to me in certain places but overall, it's a solid thriller that will keep you entertained.

I'll definitely be reading more of the author. Thanks to Netgalley and Michael Joseph for the e-copy!

Wow, what a great book. It's by far the best thing I've read for a long time.
This is the story of sisters, Tasha and Alice. When Alice's husband, Kyle, is murdered during a stay at Tasha's house, the many secrets within the family start to unravel.
I couldn't put this book down. There are so many clever twists and turns, and just when you think you know what's happened, something else occurs to throw you off!

Tasha and her husband Aaron, have a very different lifestyle to her sister Alice and her husband Kyle, who kindly offer them a stay and a break from their twin daughters in their second home in Venice, but whilst they are away tragedy strikes and they come home early.

This story sent me in so many misdirections and when I thought I had worked it all out, it surprised me with anther twist I never saw coming!

Really enjoyed it and made me wonder about what we do for this we love and how would I have behaved in the same situation

I really enjoyed The Wrong Sister. It’s a fast paced tense, gripping complex thriller that keeps you guessing throughout. I was totally engrossed from the first page, so many twists and turns. It’s just brilliant.
It’s cleverly written and very descriptive. I loved the short chapters that kept me turning the pages, I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed the multiple POV’s and the characters, I especially liked the mum.
If you enjoy twisty psychological thrillers, you’ll like this one….
Definitely recommend.

Very clever thriller with a couple of nice twists. Still not sure who the man in Venice was, but maybe I missed something as I was devouring this book so fast to find the answers.

I usually have figured out who the guilty party is part way into the book and continue reading to find out why. Not with this book, I had no idea until almost the end. It is such a clever exciting book and I really need to start reading more of this authors work.

A great read!

Sisters, Tasha and Alice, switch lives for a week, so that Tasha and her husband, Aaron, can have some time together away from their toddler twins who are being cared for by Alice and her husband, Kyle. A break in leaves Kyle dead and Alice in a serious condition.

From this point on, the plot and back story keep weaving back and forth, with twists aplenty and I really did think I’d worked it out, only to realise I’d fallen for one of Claire Douglas’ clever red herrings - again!

Loads of tension, great characters and a few HUGE secrets made this fast-paced thriller a top read for me.

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Claire Douglas and Michael Joseph, Penguin for an ARC in return for an honest review.

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas is one of the best thrillers I have ever read. I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a very fast paced book (as you want with a good thriller) and I read it in about 2 days. It really does keep you guessing. I was constantly trying to figure things out but didn’t see the end coming at all. There were no slow parts at all and I got very invested in the story constantly trying to figure if/how each bit was connected to the attack.

So essentially The Wrong Sister has got everything you want in a thriller and I definitely recommend reading it as soon as it comes out on March 14th!

This is my first Claire Douglas book and I will definitely be reading more.

This is the third Claire Douglas book that I’ve read and i think she has a real skill for story telling and weaving multiple storylines together whilst developing her characters however this one was just a little slow for me, when I read a thriller I want it to be so compelling that I’m eagerly turning the page whereas this one had me waiting for the pay off. I had no doubt it would come from reading this author before but getting there just felt quite slow.

I liked the concept of the story and the way everything unraveled in the end, I did find it quite predictable but was still interested in how it would turn out.

Overall I liked the idea of this one, I thought it was fine just not something I was excited to read. I just needed a bit more punch and pace.

The Queen of the plot twist!
Family ties strained to the limit, believable characters and those plot twists, just when you think you've got a handle on the story! Bravo.

There's certainly plenty going on in this one.

Tasha and Alice are sisters and, although they look very similar, their personalities are very different. Tasha has twin girls and a mechanic husband; Alice is married to the very rich Kyle and has no interest in having a family, despite how much she loves her nieces. With Tasha and husband Aaron desperate for some couple time, Alice offers to let them use the apartment in Venice that she and Kyle own as well as both of them coming to look after the twins. It's too good an offer to miss but Tasha is aware of some strange goings=on in Italy, then she gets a call from home to say that Alice and Kyle were attacked in her home, with Kyle not surviving. Jumping on the first available flight, she is relieved that her girls are unaware of what took place while they were asleep, but then an anonymous note is delivered telling Tasha that it was supposed to be her ...

I loved the characters in this one, and got into the story very quickly. It's not the easiest of reads, several times I had to retrace my steps to make sense of what was happening then I realised that the story occasionally jumped back in time. For me, there were some questions left unanswered and, while it was an almost complete tale, those loose ends irritated me. For me, four stars.

My thanks to the publisher for my copy via NetGalley; this is - as always - my honest, original and unbiased review.

I really wanted to love The Wrong Sister, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as previous titles by Claire Douglas. I found the plot a little over complicated without much return, and I did guess the twists. That said the writing was still top-notch as you'd expect from Claire. I think this one was a it's not you it's me scenario. Just not quite what I was expecting, but I would still read future books by this author. Thank you Netgalley and M Joseph for the chance to read and review.

Claire Douglas has truly mastered the domestic noir psychological thriller. I’ve read all of her books and I truly think this is the best yet. It’s such a simple premise; two sisters, very different from one another, decide to swap lives for a week. One is a high flying success, the other a wife and mother. What could possibly go wrong?

The strength if Claire Douglas lies in her ability to take the seemingly normal and elevate it to something different, The characters and dialogue are so well captured, I felt as if I was part of their lives. As expected, there are twists, turns and red herrings that keep the reader guessing. Pace and plotting are superb; the tension builds and there are so many cliff hangers, I was reading long after I should have been resting. This is a popular genre, but Douglas delivers every time. Absolutely loved this outing.

Ahhh what a good book! I feel like that ending is going to stay with me for a while! I think it would make a great conversation for book clubs!!
I loved:
- the short chapters
- the characters & different pov
- how it all fit together
- the ending

Things I struggled with:
- I find tasha a little annoying 🥲

Overall a great book & one I will be recommending! Thank you!

A book filled with twists and turns and an ending I did not quite anticipate. I enjoyed this overall but did feel it somewhat off the mark and I had unanswered questions at the end.

I really enjoyed this tension building thriller by Claire Douglas. This is a well written story with a fairly complex storyline that ties together in a great way. There are several plot elements involved and I loved the tension building and plot development throughout the book. As expected there are plenty to twists and turns that keep the story evolving right up to the very last page. I guessed some of the twists but the execution was well done and this did not take away from my enjoyment of the book.
A gripping book which I read in a day and will definitely recommend. Looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

Claire Douglas is rapidly becoming one of my favourite authors. Her books never let me down and this one is no exception. The story of two sisters with very different lives (and incomes!) and a tragic family history of a third sister, abducted as a baby.

This begins as a tale of a couple trying t refresh their marriage with a weekend away and quickly spirals into a whodunnit and whydunnit. It kept me guessing until the very last page. Douglas throws twists and curveballs throughout, never losing sight of a damn good bit of storytelling. Highly recommended! Thanks to Netgalley for a free Kindle copy in return for an honest review.

I usually love Claire's Douglas books, but sadly this one didn't hit the mark for me.

I found it overly complicated, just for the sake of adding the shock factor, At the same time, I was able to predict every twist and I understood quite early on what happened, as the hints were quite obvious (at least for seasoned thriller readers). The plot was repetitive and overexplained, I could not really get into it.

It's a real shame, because the idea was great and the first chapters were very engaging. I'm hoping some of these issues were picked up and fixed during editing.
