Claire Douglas absolutely smashes it out of the park again! This book was incredible! A few people had recommended it to me and told me to prioritise the book. I didn’t anticipate that it would have had me so engrossed. I have loved all of Claire Douglas books but this is my favourite. There was so much deceit and lies throughout the book and so many secrets! Just what a thriller needs! I wish there had been a bit more of a story with the man in Venice. The DNA part of the plot blew my mind and I actually read up about this afterwards. I love it when a book teaches you something. I loved this book and I am sad that my time with Holly, Tasha and Alice is over!

What a story…
I got totally engrossed, couldn’t put the book down. It is a book you don’t want to miss if you like fast pace murder mysteries.
Alice’s husband is murdered in her sister Tasha’s house whilst they were babysitting. Tasha and her husband are followed in Venice on the same night and then a mysterious note is put through Tasha’s letterbox.
I loved the twists and turns, the sister’s relationship and the people surrounding them. I felt I really got to know them and empathise.
Well done Claire Douglas. I have not read any of her books before, but I will be looking out for more.

This was a hugely entertaining thriller, very much couldn’t put it down!

I really enjoyed how layered this felt. We’re continually learning new information but never in a way that felt like twists for the sake of twists. It more felt that once the characters found out information they just started making connections and asking the right questions and it felt so natural and well paced.

This is all centred around a family and the tragedy that they suffered thirty years earlier and another tragedy happening in the present. I thought the author entwined these two storylines brilliantly. There were so many clever avenues of enquiry that kept opening up and it was so fun to try and solve the mysteries. There were a few red herrings but they still fitted so well.

I was impressed with this book and I would read more from this author. This was a clever thriller and very enjoyable!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book, NetGalley. I really enjoyed it. The story was cleverly developed as the booked progressed and we learned more about Tasha and Alice. Nothing was quite as it seemed.

A fast paced book that has you racing through . Once again Claire Douglas doesn’t disappoint and keeps you guessing about what might happen next . Two sisters who are complete opposites Tasha who enjoys staying home with her twins and Alice enjoying the finer things in life.

Tragedy has struck the family once. Will it strike again ?

Tasha and Aaron have a very different life to Tasha's sister Alice and her husband Kyle, so when Alice offer them a "Life Swap" for their anniversary they take the chance. Tasha is reluctant to leave her girls after what happened with her sister Holly many years ago, but seeing how excited Aaron is, she gets on the plane for a break in Italy! After all, Auntie Alice and Uncle Kyle have it all under control, dont they?
Unfortunately after an incident in Italy and then a phone call informing them of an incident at home, their trip is cut short.

I couldn't get enough of this book, what a ride. Told in 3 POVs, Tasha, Alice and their mother Jeanette. It becomes glaringly obvious as you get further on in the book that more secrets are being kept than you originally think, and not just little ones either.
A very easy read with a full on plot, a few unnecessary characters however but overall, a great read.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for am honest review.

Claire Douglas is such an auto-buy of an author. I always looks forward to her releases: she guarantees top-notch suspense and a gripping, pacy psychological suspense read in a relatable, domestic setting. There’s plenty happening in this book. You have so many plot lines including an abducted younger sister from 20 years old whose ghost still lingers in this family, two middle-aged sisters swapping flats and one sister getting attacked but which sister was the intended target? You have multiple POVs and you wonder how the story will come together. The resolution was fine but I found there were far too many coincidences and I had to suspend my disbelief at times. Not my favourite DouglS read, but this is still an enjoyable suspense read.

I adore Claire Douglas novels. She writes such satisfying psychological thrillers/grip lits. Her books are pure binge-worthy, to be devoured in one sitting type of reads. And The Wrong Sister is no exception. A page turner through and through with lots of twists and reveals.
Tasha is married with three-years old twins. She works as admin and it’s been a while since she’s been on a holiday, so when her wealthy older sister offers her Venice apartment to her, it’s a no-brainer. Tasha and her husband will go on a couples only holiday and her sister, Alice, will stay in her home and babysit. It’s going well until Tasha hears that Alice and her husband have been attacked. Then a few days after Tasha receives a note reading, “It should’ve been you”…
This is a pacy read. I loved the different perspectives, which really gave the book pace and created lots of red herrings and tension. I did find however the ending wasn’t satisfying and the characters become a bit caricature. I did the book however and found up be a fun popcorn read. 3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars from me.

Having read The Girls Who Disappeared, also by this author, I was looking forward to reading this book. The subjects were a bit dark, kidnapped baby, murder, threats and very tense scenes. I enjoyed the Venice chapters, fast paced, suspenseful while not really knowing what was going on. I liked Viv, grandmother to the twins, mother in law to Tasha, and all round peoples champion, but with an obvious secret. The story had an awful lot of twists & turns, and red herrings, almost too many. I felt frustration with Tasha, who seemed to have a chip on her shoulder about almost everything, but you couldn’t fault her love for her children, almost to the point of obsession but as the story went on the reader begins to see why. Interesting, if slightly implausible coincidences crop up, but the ending was good. Worth a read. 3 1/2⭐️

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Tasha’s sister Alice offers to look after the children at her house whilst she and her husband have a short break in the apartment she and her husband own in Venice. But, whilst they are there she gets a frantic phone call to say Alice’s husband has been killed and her sister is in intensive care. To make matters even worse, a few days later, she receives an anonymous note saying “It should have been you!” The investigation uncovers various family secrets and is a compelling read.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, it had me gripped from a few chapters in. Fantastic twists & turns!

At the beginning I thought this would be an amazing read, but by the time I got to the end it was just OK. There were many things that seemed just too far-fetched to me, a lot of unnecessary repetition, and some twists that were included purely for padding. Others seem to love it but it didn’t quite do it for me I’m afraid. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the early copy.

I could not put this down! I started it one Saturday morning and had finished it by 5pm! I loved it! I couldn’t work out the who dunnit and it kept me guessing! We follow Tasha and her mother as they navigate a crime set in Tashas home and a crime from the past! This should definitely be made into a tv series!

What a great read this was. Such an intricate weaving together of the plot and an absolute belter of a story. I loved the twists and turns and I have no idea how the ending was thought of but wow. A must read in my opinion. I would give more than five stars if it was possible.

A complicated and twisted domestic thriller. The storyline is compelling, a family haunted by a child abducted thirty years earlier and the relationship between two very different sisters. However, I felt there were too many red herrings and not enough ominous tension. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.

This was my first book I've read by Claire Douglas, and it definitely didn't disappoint. If you love a thriller with red herrings thrown in, then this is the one!

Tasha and Alice are sisters, but they are totally opposite, Tasha is a caring mother to twins, and Alice is career oriented and driven by success! Tasha and her husband Aaron swap lives with Alice and Kyle and go for a romantic weekend in Alice and Kyle's holiday home in Venice, and they stay at Alice's home to care for her twins! What they didn't expect was the murder of Kyle and the attack of Alice, but the real question throughout is why and who?!

I was constantly changing my mind as to who carried out the murder and attack as there were so many red herrings, and every character causes suspensions in some way. The ending totally surprised me because I just didn't expect it, and it wasn't one of my theories, which is also good in a psychological thriller as sometimes they can be easy to guess!

If you enjoy a book filled with family secrets, lies, and moral dilemmas, then I would recommend this!

An easy 5 star read!

Having really enjoyed Claire Douglas’s last two novels I was, I’m afraid, a bit disappointed with her latest thriller.

The Wrong Sister centres around Tasha - a young woman who is keen to rekindle the passion in her marriage to Aaron since having their 2-year-old twins. When her rich and successful sister, Alice, and her new husband Kyle offer to come and stay in their house for a week and look after the twins whilst Tasha and Aaron stay at their swanky holiday home in Venice, it seems like the perfect opportunity to get things back on track.

However, whilst they are away, there is a break in at Tasha’s home which cuts the holiday short and they rush back to the UK. Kyle has been killed in the break in, and later Tasha receives a note saying ‘it should have been you’. Who is threatening Tasha and why?

The beginning of the book was very promising, with some very tense and creepy scenes in Venice as Tasha and Aaron feel followed and threatened by a shady man. Then when the note arrived I was sure I was in for a treat with the rest of the book.

But then it just fell flat for me. Until about 60% in it just felt boring and repetitive. Told from a few different characters’ perspectives, everyone just seemed to be asking themselves the same questions over and over again until I was desperate for some new content!!

Then things picked up a bit more towards the end. With two main twists to come, one of them I feel was really heavily set up and made overly obvious what was coming. The second I didn’t see and thought was quite clever. And to be fair there was more to the first twist that I hadn’t figured out (ie exactly why and how). But just a bit disappointing overall - it lacked the punch and the wow! Which I’ve felt before with Claire’s books.

The second running storyline about the kidnapped younger sister was at times quite interesting and added another dimension to the story, especially with the viewpoints from Bonnie. I might have liked to hear more about that side of the story and less of the repetitive ponderings of Tasha and Jeanette!

The Wrong Sister is crammmed pack full of tension and twisty twists. It kept me awake well into the night to see what happens next.
