Amazing! I love Claire Douglas books and The Wrong Sister is excellent. I went through lots of different emotions reading this story from terror to tearful. I didn’t expect the outcome either which is unusual for me. I highly recommend this book.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Ms Douglas has done It again with another fabulous read with her latest offering ‘The Wrong sister’.
Tasha and Alice are both sisters but very different to each other. Tasha lives in Chew Norton where they both grew up and is married to Aaron and has twin daughters. Alice is married to Kyle and lives in London and is quite wealthy. When the sisters agree to do a life swap. Alice will look after the twin girls. While Tasha and Aaron have a much-needed break and head of to Venice and stay in Tasha’s holiday villa.
The couple themselves when they are accosted by a man with a knife when they get lost in the back streets of Venice. But the couple manage to get away. But they receive further bad news when she gets a call to say that someone tried to burgle their home while Alice and Kyle and the twins are asleep. When Kyle goes to find out what is happening Kyle ends up dead and her sister Alice is injured. More shock comes when a note is left saying to Tasha that it should have been you.
This is another fantastic read from the author. It is a tense gripping and quite complex thriller, and the authors is great placing some red herrings to keep you guessing throughout. I hadn’t figured anything out until the conclusion of the story with the author’s trademark twist at the end. 5 stars from me.

I’ve read several books by this author and enjoyed them all.
Tasha’s older sister, Alice, is very wealthy and, as well as a big house in London, she and her husband also have a holiday home in Venice. Alice kindly offers her sister a holiday in Venice, while she and her husband, Kyle, look after Tasha and Aaron’s twin 3-year-old girls in their own home.
Tasha and Aaron arrive in Venice and, whilst getting back to the flat after dinner, they feel they’re being followed. Then they get a phone call to say that Alice and Kyle have been attacked – in Tasha and Aaron’s house – and that Kyle has died. Alice is still alive but in intensive care.
They rush back to the UK to be with their daughters and to support Alice, but then Tasha receives a note, saying “It should have been you”.
Brilliant and gripping, I couldn’t put this down.
Thank you to NetGalley, Michael Joseph, and Penguin Random House for an advance reader copy in return for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this awesome new thriller from @clairedouglasauthor
Claire has always been an auto buy author for me as every single one of her books have been an amazing experience for me.
So when @netgalley approved my request for this thriller I literally screamed out loud in excitement.
As per my expectations this was another winner. I found it had a great pace and kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through.
The key for me for any good thriller is not being able to guess the end.. and once again I was left gobsmacked by the twists as they kept coming.
Another easy 5 stars for Claire Douglas.
Thank you to @penguinrandomhouse @michaeljbooks and @netgalley for my EARC in exchange for this honest review
This book is due out in March 2024 and should be a must read for any thriller reader.

Having enjoyed all of her previous books I was looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint. In fact I think it is her best yet. Really relatable characters, (likeable and flawed) interesting family dynamics, lots of red herrings and really well researched.
Loved it! Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this book. The setting was realistic as were the characters. The plot was a bit far-fetched but it was still gripping. Family dynamics were explored well too.

Whenever I see a new Claire Douglas book I have to read it. And thanks to Netgalley I was approved an ARC of this which comes out in a few months time.
This one is probably not her best work. Don't get me wrong Claire grips you in quite early on and keeps chapters fairly short which definitely helps me.
The reason I dropped stars... Too many unnecessary characters thrown in and I found myself going who is this why are they important. I prefer books to have a few characters at most!
Also I found parts of the story skittish. Within a chapter it would suddenly change to a different part of the day and I sat there thinking I'd missed a page accidentally.
I thought I'd figured out the ending around 60% in but nope one final twist.
Overall not amazing but not a bad read.

Claire has always been, and will continue to be, one of my favourite authors. The Wrong Sister is set in a little village in theSouth West and follows the story of Tasha and her family. Unfortunately her sister is attacked in Tasha's home, and post the attack so much unfolds from both the past and present. I love the story telling through different points of views, and it was a great way to introduce a big part of the mystery. There are themes of murder, mystery and family drama and dynamics, a gripping read to kick of 2024 with!

"The Wrong Sister" is a great thriller which keeps you guessing until the end. It is the story of sisters Tasha and Alice, and also their younger sister Holly, who was abducted when only a few months old. Tasha is a wife and mother who works in the dental practice in the town where she was born. Alice is a high-flying biochemist with a PhD, who lives in London with husband Kyle. They are very different personalities, but similar in looks, and have slightly grown apart since Alice left for university.
The small town setting allows for the slight claustrophobia of everyone knowing everyone else's business, remembering them from school, etc. There are long held grudges and long memories. With plenty of twists and turns the novel is gripping and fairly believable. A great read.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
Tasha and Alice are sisters with very different lives. Tasha is married with twins, still living in her home town. Alice is married to a wealthy man, with a hugely successful career. Alice can see Tasha needs a break and to rekindle the romance with her husband so offers them a break in her Venice apartment while she looks after the twins. Essentially, a life swap. Not long after the break begins, Alice suffers a break in at Tashas home and her husband dies. A note is then put through the door saying “It was supposed to have been you” sent to Tasha. What secrets need spilling to get the whole truth?
This author never fails to release a page turner, and this one was no different. We read from different POV and it was great to read from Tasha and Alice’s mum, and have another story weaved through the main who dunnit. The plot was cleverly written, and completely gripping with pure tension on every page. I enjoyed the characters, but I especially liked their mum, she was deeper than the girls. Brilliant, and my favourite book of the year so far.

Utterly brilliant
I absolutely devoured it in two days
Believable characters and some quite annoying, secrets, intrigue ..... oh God! and that ending .... I did not expect it

This has keep me captivated all weekend! What a book!! It's multi pov and dual timeline and it's written seamlessly! Some books can switch povs in quite a clunky jarring way but this didn't block the flow or the story at all! The characters are well written and given depth and dimension and the plot itsself had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! The twists in this book are just genius, I didn't see most of them coming and spent the whole time without a clue what to expect next. Amazing!

This was a really good read. So many secrets in a family. There are some truly horrific characters which always makes for a juicy story and I was way out in my estimation of why things were happening. Plenty of surprises here and I would definitely recommend this thriller/family drama.

She's done it again and written yet another brilliantly executed mystery/thriller!
As is common in Claire Douglas books, I likely that the book is told from multiple perspectives, as it provides us with extra insight and information. There's always those chapters told from the unknown perspective that has you guessing!
I couldn't put this book down and finished it in 5 hours (no I don't have anything better to do on a Sunday). There's so much going on that the book sinks its claws in to you and won't let you stop until you've devoured it.
Overall, a twisty and gripping page-turner about family and what we do to protect them.
Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Random House for providing an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Claire Douglas is an absolute autobuy author for me and this didn't disappoint at all. Another very clever and twisty thriller, this time based around an unexpected murder and a missing baby. I really liked how Douglas wove two timelines together without using a dual narrative. The two stories came together well and the ending was satisfying. Only criticism is that I didn't really engage with Tasha as a character. On the whole, a great thriller that keeps you guessing. Recommend. Fans of Claire won't be disappointed.

Loved it! Wow! I could not put this down wondering what the heck was going on! I loved Alice and tashas relationship and had so many theories throughout that were proved wrong! The ending was fabulous! Fully deserved 5 stars!

Another banger by Claire Douglas, I was hooked from the first page!
This book has you guessing throughout, I couldn’t put it down. I always like a mysterious chapter in Italics, it seems to be a bit of a trademark of this author.
I liked the way it was written with a chapter for each character as it builds up the to conclusion.. who attacked Alice and killed Kyle, why should it have been Tasha? So many secrets, so many lies!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, I always feel so privileged to receive a digital ARC, especially those books from my favourite authors!

Absolutely brilliant. A pacy, hard to put down book. I think this is one of her best so far. Great author.

Wow, what an ending!
I won't go over the synopsis of this one. For one, you can read it on here and secondly, it doesn't even go half way to explaining the complexities of this novel (but to give away any more would get into spoiler territory and I won't go there).
What you have here is a novel that will keep you reading just one more chapter until it's 2am and you won't go to sleep until you know how it ends. What I loved about this book was that it was twisty, but not in a ridiculous way that suspends belief. The author does an excellent job of dropping little hints scattered through the book which means when the twists are revealed you wonder why you didn't see them coming (well I never see any twist coming but you probably will!)

Oh I love me a Claire Douglas thriller and The Wrong Sister ticked SO many boxes for me! I was very much gripped from the first page.
We are introduced to couple Tasha and Aaron who have agreed to take part in a ‘life swap’ with Tasha’s sister Alice and her wealthy husband Kyle. With hectic lives looking after their two-year-old twin girls, Tasha and Aaron haven’t had much time for each other recently so their plan to spend a romantic week away in Alice and Kyle’s luxurious Venice apartment is eagerly awaited. However, the couple are barely into their holiday when they get a heart-wrenching phone call from home: Kyle has been murdered and Alice is in hospital with a head injury following an attack…
I was completely drawn in by the synopsis - Claire always manages to conjure unique storylines that grab my attention before I’ve even picked up the book - and I wasn’t let down by the events that unfolded. The characters are complex and not who they appear to be at first glance, I really enjoyed uncovering more about them all the deeper into the story I got.
I’m not always able to read books as quickly as I would like these days due to running around after my glorious toddler but there are some books that simply won’t allow me to cast them aside and demand that I read ‘just one more chapter’ - The Wrong Sister 100% fell into that category. I read it at every available opportunity and that is largely due to how engaging the storyline was and how brilliant Claire’s writing is.
This book is due to be released in March of this year and I reckon it will fly off the shelves! Thank you so much to Penguin Michael Joseph for my gifted copy of this book 🫶🏻
