Such a cleverly written book that had me hanging on to every word and every clue.

Sisters Alice and Tasha decide on a week’s life swap. Alice is a homebird, marrried with two children and has stayed true to her roots. Tasha on the other hand is a high flying scientist who works alongside her millionaire husband. During the life swap Alice finds herself staying in her sister’s Italian second home while Tasha and her husband try their hand at looking after Alice’s twin girls. Things come to a pretty shocking end however when Alice is informed that Tasha’s husband has been murdered in her home and that Tasha herself has pretty nasty head injury.

Upon coming home they must navigate a way to comfort Tasha while trying to work out who was responsible for the crimes.

There are a few other storylines waving through the book including the fact that Alice and Tasha gave a younger sister who was abducted when she was a baby and never returned. Could the attacks have something to do with this crime from the past?

The twists and turns were never ending but it really kept me guessing and the ending …. Truly shocking! A must read.

The wrong sister is an intricately woven tale of family, love and deceit!

Brilliantly told this is the perfect psychological thriller. At first I had no idea who had attacked Kyle and Alice, but slowly things started to piece together. Brilliantly written so you keep trying to remember the clue that was sown chapters before.

Absolutely brilliant!

This gripping thriller from one of my favourite authors delivers on all fronts, standing out as one of her finest works. When Tasha and her husband Aaron are offered a week's stay in her sister Alice and brother-in-law Kyle’s Venetian apartment, they eagerly accept, leaving Alice and Kyle to care for their twin daughters. However, their peaceful getaway takes a horrifying turn when a brutal attack occurs in their home, leaving Alice injured and Kyle dead.

With a plethora of suspicious characters introduced, including a note insinuating Tasha was the intended target and a haunting family history, the plot twists and turns, keeping readers guessing until the very end. The story's relentless pace and unexpected revelations had me hooked from start to finish, and the chilling identity of the perpetrator caught me off guard. Overall, this thrilling tale is a masterclass in suspense, leaving a lasting impression long after the final page is turned.

The E-Book could be improved and more user-friendly, such as links to the chapters, no significant gaps between words and a cover for the book would be better. It is very document-like instead of a book. A star has been deducted because of this.

The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

I do enjoy Claire Douglas novels, but somehow this one didn't capture my attention as much.
It is what I'd call a 'timepass' novel where the story, the characters, the final outcome, were all acceptable, but not enthralling. The characters lacked depth and really weren't terribly endearing, so if you don't care about them, you're not really terribly fussed what happens to them.
I persisted to the end, but wasn't excited by the outcome; there was little sense of satisfaction, and frankly, there were loose ends which were never tied up, so served no purpose in the narrative. A bit of a let down overall I'm afraid.

A good psychological thriller/murder mystery. 3.5*
Plenty of misdirection and red herrings to keep you guessing. I did manage to figure out who the killer (probably!) was; a wee bit of scientific background came in useful there.
As with most mystery novels, it does rely on the reader accepting some fairly big coincidences, there was an event in the story that was never satisfactorily accounted for,, and I was a bit skeptical about the whole last chapter, but overall this was an entertaining read.

A fantastic, twisty page turner! This author is so good at creating characters and turning events into a different way.
A truly excellent read that I will be recommending to my friends and colleagues.

Claire Douglas has once again reminded be of why she is one of my favourite authors. The Wrong Sister is a wonderful domestic thriller, filled with suspense and intrigue from start to finish. Read below to find out more!

Sisters Tasha and Alice live two very different lives, Tasha is married with two children and Alice is a scientist, newly married and travelling the world. But when Alice and her husband Kyle offer to babysit Tasha’s children, everything starts to go wrong…

Alice and Kyle are attacked and with no obvious suspect, Tasha is at a loss. Until she returns home to find a note reading ‘It was supposed to be you.’

To add to all this is the kidnapping of Holly, Tasha and Alice’s sister. Taken from her pram as a baby and never seen again, Holly has remained a ghost in their lives. With a plot that twists and turns its way through the life of one family, Claire Douglas had absolutely nailed it again and written an amazingly gripping family centred crime story.

Will keep you guessing right to the end!
I had to read this in one go as I just couldn't put this down. This book is amazing and very cleverly written. There aren't many books that you don't have a good idea of 'who dunnit' but this is definitely one of them.
A house-swap, two murders, a missing sibling and plenty of twists and turns.
I loved it and will remember this book for a long time.

Tasha & Aaron live with their twin daughters in the Chew Norton, the village where she grew up. She always felt second best to Alice her high flying sister. Her mother never got over her youngest daughter being snatched from her pram as a baby and after her husband died she moved to France. Aaron & Tasha are happy but get little time for themselves with the toddler twins, so when Alice & her husband Kyle offer to swap places for a week & they stay in the village & Aaron & Tasha go & spend a week in the Venice apartment. While they are away someone breaks in & kills Kyle & injures Alice. As if that isn't enough of a shock a day or so after they return Tasha gets a note to say the wrong sister died. The police also find DNA in the house that points to a relative. Tasha wants answers!

What a delight this book was! I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

A good read, you know throughout that something is amiss, but you cannot work out who exactly is the wrong un.
I enjoyed as it had a different slant to a lot of stories I have read.
Enjoyable

I was completely drawn in from the start of this book. I have loved the multi-povs and short and snappy chapters. At the beginning of the book, we follow the sisters, Tasha and Alice, swapping locations and lives for a week. We then have their respective other halves, Kyle and Aaron. Alice and Aaron are looking forward to their break, whilst Tasha's sister is looking after their twins and giving this couple their much-needed break. Unfortunately, on this evening of the swap, there's a break-in, and Kyle is sadly murdered, and Alice has been attacked and is in hospital; now rushing back, Tasha has found a note saying, 'its the wrong sister' Although near the end I did guess some of the plot twists I still really enjoyed this book and the wrap up was fantastically done.

Tasha has always lived in her sister Alice’s shadow. They look alike but are so different. Whilst Tasha lives in the village they grew up in, Alice lives a glamorous life style as the ‘successful’ one. Their younger sister went missing as a baby so they are each other’s only remaining sister, and the familial bond diffuses a potentially complicated relationship. When Alice generously gifts Tasha and her husband a stay in her and her husband’s lavish Venetian apartment as an anniversary gift, the sister’s relationship gets more complicated.

I got into this book quickly. I enjoyed its pace, as it seemed like every chapter had a hook to spur you on. I loved the twists and turns that keep on coming, and how the quaint setting of Chew Norton and Tasha and husband Aaron’s lifestyle juxtaposes with the dark themes. I enjoyed reading about Tasha and Alice’s relationship and how friends and family developed the plot. A must read for thriller lovers.

a book that grips the reader from the beginning. The plot twists and turns and I defy you to predict the ending.
Thoroughly good read.

I enjoyed this poignantly sinister psychological suspense full of heartbreak and secrets. Tasha and Alice are sisters but so different. Alice is career-orientated and successful, whilst Tasha is more family-centred and just as successful but always feels less than her sister. The story unfolds through Tasha and Alice's viewpoints with additional perspectives from Jeannette, their mother and Bonnie, an unknown figure. Much of the story focuses on the family and past and present tragedy and how it affects them. There are surprising twists, false leads and a suspenseful final reveal. It's an absorbing, poignant read with complex characters and moral dilemmas. I like the convoluted relationship dynamics, the gradual reveal that hides as much as they inform and the twisty conclusion.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Well Claire Douglas has done it again! This is a work of brilliance. I’m really not sure how a written review will do this book any justice. I’d even go as far as saying I have a girl crush.

Douglas has a real habit of enticing her readers and then snaring you, pulling you into a deep dark place with twists a plenty and characters that you just can’t dislike. The Wrong Sister is another corker to add to the collection and I have no hesitation in shouting about Claire’s brilliance.

I’m a huge fan of Claire’s and I can safely say every book gets better and better. I devoured this book in just one sitting, completely unwilling to put this down. The Wrong Sister introduces us to Alice and Tasha, sisters who swap places for a short time for Tasha to have a romantic break away. This is until they get a call to say that there has been an incident at their house.

This really sets events in motion of this book. The plot consumes you and becomes one you don’t want to put down. Everything about this has kept me reading.

The plot is perfectly paced, as always with a Douglas novel, I was torn between wanting to race through this and not wanting it to end. I really wish I could experience this as a first read all over again.

Douglas is phenomenal and everything about this book shows why she is top of her game. This is a book worthy of all the praise and completely addictive.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this book to other readers. I have no doubt that this is going to be one of my favourites of 2024.

A must for the TBR.

Oh my days, I couldn't put this book down!! I loved the storyline and I was quickly engrossed in what was going on and could not wait to see what was going to happen. I felt so sorry for Tasha as you could just tell that they needed the break and that's when the trouble started!

I liked Tasha as she was not willing to let things go and kept on wanting to uncover the truth. However, the list of suspects was growing rapidly as everyone was hiding something - and some of those secrets were bigger than others! I mean, if you needed someone to keep a secret - telling someone in this family would be perfect!

I loved how the secrets started to slowly come out though and helped to build up the picture of what had happened, now and in the past. There were times when I was literally gasping out loud as I was reading as I was not expecting some of the twists and turns that we had!

I loved this and thought the pacing was perfect, the chapters were fairly shortish but to be honest I couldn't stop reading so just kept going! Brilliantly written and unputdownable!

Wow, what a book! This was a readalong with Tandem over 12 days and I read it in 4. I couldn’t put it down, there were so many twists, secrets, reveals, red herrings - I now know why they gave us a whiteboard to go with it!

Tasha and Aaron spend a few days away in Venice at her sister’s flat as they’ve not been away since having their twin girls. Whilst there, they get the awful news that their brother-in-law has been killed in their house and her sister left seriously injured. They rush back, and the story unfolds from there.

I loved the writing style of this one, easy to read and full of information and clues that lead you to change your mind a few times throughout. I nearly figured it out, changed my mind then changed it back again right at the end. So good. If you’re a fan of Claire and a fan of psychological thrillers, you’ll love it.

Sisters Tasha and Alice are close but live very different lives. Tasha and her husband are childhood sweethearts who set up home with their young family in the place they grew up while Alice gained a place at Oxford, became a biochemist and married a wealthy man. The sisters share the heartache of a sister that was abducted as a baby, never seen again.

Alice and her husband offer their Italian holiday home to Tasha and her husband to try and rekindle their romance. They have a lovely couple of days but a suspicious man and a traumatic call from home brings them back to a bloodbath in their home, with one person dead and another in hospital.

This is a triumph in misdirection by the author, as a reader I was completely sure of the outcome and genuinely surprised when I was so wrong. Great characters and plot, with lots of interesting twists towards the end.

Many thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
