Brilliant twisty turny read
Sisters would do anything for each other? wouldn't they? No secret is too big to keep, or is it.?
Great unusual plot

This is the first Claire Douglas novel that I have read and it certainly won’t be the last! I’ve heard a lot about this author from friends and I was thrilled to get my hands on The Wrong Sister as an advance copy.

The Wrong Sister is a twisty thriller, full of misdirection, intertwined stories and guessing games.
Tasha and Alice are sisters living very different lives. Tasha and husband Aaron live in Chew Norton with their twin girls, Alice and Kyle live in London, a lavish lifestyle with a holiday villa in Venice.

But there’s a twist, Alice and Tasha also has another sister, Holly, who disappeared without a trace as a baby. Her story comes almost full circle in a shock twist.

I really enjoyed this book, I love working it out and I did get some of the missing links but others surprised me! A great read and lots of red herrings to keep the reader guessing!

The Wrong Sister is yet another brilliant release from Claire Douglas. In this novel, Tasha and her husband Aaron are off to stay in her sister Alice's holiday home in Venice for a short break. Whilst they're away, Alice and her husband Kyle are attacked. As if that isn't awful enough, once they're back home Tasha receives a chilling note telling her 'it should have been you'....!

We get inside the heads of both Alice and Tasha in the aftermath of the attack, as well as their mum Jeanette's, but we mostly stay with Tasha as she grapples with guilt – the attack happened in her house, and perhaps it was even intended for her? – while trying to work out who was behind it all. Shocking family secrets are uncovered along the way!

The twists and surprises keep things intriguing – I love a book that masters misdirection and The Wrong Sister certainly manages that! The ending delivers surprises, while a few threads remain loose, which might not sit well with readers who prefer complete closure. Overall, it's a fast-paced, gripping, and very entertaining read!

A joy of a book that starts slowly with two sisters, Tasha and Alice, Both have ended up with completely different lifestyles. Alice is married to Kyle, well off and have a holiday home in Venice. Tasha is married to Aaron and live with their twin daughters in a small terraced house.

The action really starts with Tash and husband flying to Venice to celebrate an anniversary.. Here they encounter a strange sort of stalker, but little happens in Italy as Tash rushes home as Alice has been attacked, and Kyle is dead. Is this in any way connected to the Venice danger?

From hereon the book introduces more characters as Ms Douglas keeps the twists coming with a dramatic ending!

Apart from any solution to the Italy storyline, the whole book is very enjoyable. The possible third sister scenario also kept me longing to finish the book.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I enjoyed this book and the way the two stories tied together but I felt like there were a few loose ends, especially relating to the Italy trip.

I read this on holiday and loved it. Tasha is married to Aaron and has twin daughters. Life is not easy for them and Tasha’s sister, Alice, offers a house swap. Tasha and Aaron can go to Alice and Kyle’s house in Venice and they in turn will stay and look after the twins. Tasha and Aaron’s marriage although stable, since the twins were born, they had lost touch. They looked forward to the break although Tasha was apprehensive leaving the girls but trusted Alice and Kyle. While in Venice a couple of strange things happen which makes Tasha jumpy. She thinks they are being followed at one point and wondered if it was her sister they were after as she was wearing her sister’s clothes. The person muttered something in Italian which they did not understand but sounded sinister. Then the real drama begins. After a couple of days in Venice they get a phone call to go home. Kyle has ben brutally murdered and her sister, Alice, is in intensive care with a horrific head wound. Luckily Aaron’s mom is on hand to look after the children. The story takes on a pace of its own very quickly from now. Sightings on a person in the woods looking at the house, a note through the door saying the wrong sister was injured, all very creepy. Just when you think you have a handle on what is going on and who did what something happens to make you realise, no you have the wrong person. Everyone has secrets and eventually they come out and when they do what will you do about it

Yet another fantastic read from Claire Douglas. The characters come alive and the story is really well written, moving at a great pace and the twists just keep coming at you. A joy to read from start to finish. Would totally recommend if you enjoy a fast paced mystery. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me access to an early copy of this novel.

Sisters Alice and Tasha, look alike but live very different lifestyle. Alice and her new husband Kyle have a big London house and a luxury apartment in Venice while Tasha and Aaron with their young twin girls are live in a small house in the Cotswold. Alice suggests they do a life swap for a week while her and Kyle look after the girls so Tasha and Aaron can have a well deserved break in Venice. Their mother, Jeanette, has moved to France three years earlier after her husband died. She also left to escape painful memories of her first daughter, Holly, who disappeared thirty years before when only four months old. This is very much part of the plot as might be expected.

All goes well initially although at the end of their first day in Venice Tasha and Aaron have an alarming incident in Venice. This is never explained in the novel so was a little confusing.

The day thing Tasha gets a call to say Kyle has been murdered and Alice is in hospital. They dash back to England and there are many more dramas in the coming days as everyone tried to find who killed Kyle and if they are coming back to kill Alice or Tasha as a note indicates that ‘the wrong sister’ was targeted.

I enjoyed this book very much and was eager to turn the pages to get to the end. There were a few things that I found odd though such as Tasha not making persistent attempts to contact Jeanette in France. It seems like she tried only twice a day for a couple of days. Also the lack of information that Alice knew about her husband’s family with it being passed off as ‘he never mentioned’.

With thanks to NetGalley and Michael Joseph for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another fantastic book by Claire Douglas!

From the start, I thought I'd guess what was going on but I was far from figuring it all out! It's full of twists and turns, constantly second-guessing the suspected killer.

Highly recommend!

Another fabulous read from Claire Douglas. This author pulls the reader in to the story in the first few pages. Fast paced read with lots of mystery and twists to keep the reader guessing. Tasha and Alice are sisters, both leading very different lives. Alice and her husband have come to stay in Tasha’s home for a week, they will be looking after Tasha’s twin girls, while Tasha and her husband go and spend a week in Venice, in Alice’s holiday apartment, for some quality time together. Things go wrong for both couples a few days in, Tasha and her husband are followed an evening when they take a wrong turn, the man has a knife, this puts them on edge. Then they receive bad news from home, an intruder broke in to their home, Alice has a head injury and is in hospital, sadly her husband Kyle died from a fatal blow, thankfully the twins are unscathed. A few days later Tasha receives an anonymous note saying , “it should have been you”. What is going on and are the incidents related?
In the background there is another story going on, the girls had another sister who was abducted from her pram 30 years ago when their mother left her outside in her pram whilst she went into the grocery store. This story also unfolds and is intertwined as the girls deal with Kyle’s death and the mysteries surrounding that. The two stories come together very clevery. Sisters will always be sisters.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.

Tash’s childhood was shaped by the disappearance of her baby sister. Years later, Tash’s older sister, Alice, offers Tash and her husband the use of her luxury apartment in Venice for their anniversary while Alice stays in their home to look after the children. While Tash is in Venice they are followed and Alice and her husband are attacked in Tash’s home. This was an excellent, fast-paced thriller with lots of twists and turns. There were lots of strands to the plot that kept me guessing to the end.

What a fantastic book! I was gripped from the very beginning until the end and didn’t want to put the book down. So much so I ended up reading it in two sittings. There were plenty of twists and turns along the way and lots to keep me guessing (and mainly getting wrong) where the story was going.

Tasha and Aaron live with their twin toddler girls in the village where they both grew up. They live within their means. Alice (Tasha’s sister) and Kyle live in London and are extremely wealthy. As the book begins, Alice and Kyle have ‘switched’ lives for a week, moving into Tasha and Aaron’s house to look after the twins while Tasha and Aaron are in Alice and Kyle’s apartment in Venice.

Part way through the week and they receive a phone call to advise them that Alice is in hospital and Kyle is dead. Was it a burglary gone wrong or did they think Tasha and Aaron were still there.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

The Wrong Sister is the book I’ve enjoyed the most this year so far and maybe my favourite one by Claire Douglas.
Tasha and her sister are fairly close but lead very different lives. Tasha is married with twin girls and has to be careful with money whilst Alice is a leader in her field, married to the ideal man with no children and live a lavish lifestyle. Alice offers to babysit the twin girls for a long weekend so Tasha and her husband can go to her apartment in Venice and have some long awaited time on their own. Things don’t go quite to plan though as two days in Tasha and her husband are follow around Venice by a man holding a knife and that night someone breaks into their home attacking Alice and leaving her husband for dead. Throwing their lives into chaos and bringing other tragic matters to the fore.
This was a fast paced thriller that I loved from the first page, I thought the characters were well developed and the storyline was original with a great twist that I never saw coming at the end making this an easy and engaging read.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin for my copy of The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas
Although Alice and Tasha are sisters and share the same beautiful red hair in all other respects they are so different. But the one thing they can be sure of it there love for each other and the bond between them.
So when Alice and her husband Kyle offer to look after their twin daughters for a week while Tasha and Aaron swop and go to stay in Alice and Kyles luxury apartment in Venice, it’s to good to miss.
Their wonderful break is shattered within a couple of days when they receive news that Alice and Kyle have been attacked.
They rush back and find a note addressed to Tasha “IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU”
WHY ? A gripping read.

It took a little while for me to get into it, but after the 4th or 5th chapter I was hooked.

I was apprehensive at first, wondering where the story was going to go. The title obviously hints that it’s something to do with sisters but I couldn’t figure out what that was going to be. Those first few chapters really set the story and looking back I think they were so good at throwing you off the scent of where the story progresses. In a good way.

The bond between the sisters was lovely and I like how it was shown through various characters.

The suspense throughout was phenomenal. I was suspecting everyone and couldn’t pinpoint the why or the who. There were a few storylines that made you suspicious and I think it was meshed together really well.

Short snappy chapters with a gripping story made it a quick and enjoyable read.

I really loved the twist at the end and didn’t see it coming!

Tasha and Aaron are having a much needed getaway to Venice, leaving their twins at home with Tasha’s older sister Alice and her husband Kyle.

She thought she was leaving them in safe hands but she was wrong ….

This was a great page turner right from the start, with us being led to suspect pretty much everyone of something! Rather than a big twist there were a series of revelations which slowly help the reader to piece together all the different elements of the story.

Tasha and her sister Alice have very different lives. Tasha is married to her childhood sweetheart Aaron and live with their twin daughters in a small terraced house. Alice is married to Kyle. They’re highflying, successful and rich with a holiday home in Venice. Alice convinces Tasha and Aaron to spend a week in Venice celebrating their anniversary whilst she looks after her nieces. Although reluctant to leave her daughters, Tasha finally relents. But after a few days Tasha receives a call to say Alice has been attacked and Kyle is dead. They think it’s a burglary gone wrong, but then a but arrives saying ‘it was supposed to be you’.

This is the first Claire Douglas book that I have read, but I doubt it will be the last. It is a thoroughly good read.

Tasha and Alice are sisters who have taken completely different paths in life, though they are both happily married. Tasha was not academically gifted and is still living in the town where she grew up. Now married to Aaron, her childhood sweetheart, she has two twin daughters and a job as a dental receptionist. Alice by contrast is a successful biochemist and married to Kyle who is a rich tech entrepreneur.
Alice suggests a short life swap to give Tasha a break from the twins and so leaving the twins in the capable hands of Alice, Tasha and Aaron set out for a weeks break in Alice’s apartment in Venice. It sounds ideal but things soon start to go wrong in a big way and Kyle ends up dead!

Lots of twists kept me enthralled until the last page. A cracking good read.
