This was definitely an interesting read that has piqued my interest to read even more when it is available in the future. SO far I would rate this a 4.5/5 stars.
SO FAR IN THIS SAMPLE: We've been introduced to a few characters, the location, the beginnings of world building, introductions to personalities of the characters and the plot has also begun quite quickly which I really appreciate. In a lot of Y/A novels it takes several chapters to introduce the issues that lay down the foundation to the plot whereas here we are taken there almost immediately
The Knight- our antagonist- reminds me of a combination of a traditional Genie and Rumpelstiltskin in how he makes a wish come true in a literal sense where by he causes harm on the wisher.
Eve- our FMC- is training to defeat hum, believing the magical powers she has is enough to do so by herself.
The writing was done so well that I read this sample so quickly that I was gutted when I didn't have more to read yet.
I’m truly intrigued by this story, it has a fairytale feel to the story.
We’re introduced to Eve who comes across a little brash but smart and confident. She is training and it comes to light she wishes to be her mother the queen’s champion against the force that is a plague on their land. The enemy the Knight is described as a monster, he reminds me of rumplestiltskin in his manner of harm, he makes deals with the desperate and these deals have dire consequences.
I cant wait to be able to read the rest as there’s still so much mystery surrounding the knight and why he makes these deals. Also why the queen won’t let Eve go off to slay their monster.
