I was super excited to read this book as I’ve read all of T.M Logan’s books. I think this one has to be the best Ive read.
Couldn’t put it down. Was totally invested and it psychologically got in my head. Couldn’t stop thinking about it when i wasn’t reading it and was convinced I knew! Which I didn’t!
Can see this a series on tv next! Highly recommend and thanks for allowing me to read it early.
I enjoyed reading this - the pacing was very good, it was a unique premise and the ending took me by surprise! I thought I knew where it was going and I was absolutely wrong, I love being shocked.
I think some characters could have been fleshed out a bit better - particularly Adam's wife, Jess. Her only personality trait seemed to be being a bit of a nag, if she was a more likeable character then it would have packed more of a punch when she was in peril.
Overall I would recommend this as it is an interesting story, and something a bit different. It didn't completely blow me away, but it was definitely a decent read.
This is a terrific thriller, fast-moving and suspenseful. It covers a wide range of issues, including family dynamics, the secrets often hidden behind the facade of a marriage, and the lies we tell each other - and ourselves.
Throughout the story, the author manages to maintain not only a cracking pace, but also to whip up a level of suspicion towards various characters that is most satisfying in a psychological thriller.
The characters are well-drawn and often relatable. Recommended to those looking for a hair-raising read. I give it 3.5 stars.
I was absolutely gripped by TM Logan’s The Catch, but not so much with his others. So I’m pleased to say that his latest is definitely as addictive and twisty as The Catch was! He’s doing what he does best: a mystery, family dynamics, and a high-octane race to a nail-biting conclusion where every thread gets neatly tied up - with a hint of darkness for good measure.
The story reminded me of the real-life case of The Watcher, reported on by journalists and recently filmed for Netflix, but the Nottingham setting here is realistic and there’s nothing supernatural - human nature doesn’t need it!
This was an intriguing thriller which starts when Adam uncovers a secret door in panelling hidden behind a fitted wardrobe in his families new home, the door leads to a small room which includes a dresser which contains a strange selection of items in locked drawers. I admit I thought the items would have rung instant alarm bells however Adam and his wife Jess decide to investigate who the owner may have been which them set in motion a terrifying set of events. There are some fabulous characters in this, many of whom it’s easy to be suspicious about however the guilty party was truly unexpected and offered an excellent twist that I really did not see coming.
I was so excited to be given the chance to read and review this book. An absolute belter! Great storyline that kept me guessing. A real page Turner. 10/10
I couldn’t wait to start this book as I’ve read all of T.M Logan’s books and this did not disappoint and was absolutely brilliant.
The story is all about Jess, Adam’ and their children moving into their new dream house where Adam finds some mysterious items in a secret area of the house. What follows is a fantastic story with so many twists, turns and red herrings and I did not guess any of the outcome correctly which shows just how good this book was.
The setting was brilliant, so gripping, fast paced, tense and really creepy.
An excellent five star book and I cannot wait for the next novel.
Thanks to Netgalley, Bonnier Books UK and T.M Logan for an advanced copy in exchange for an an unbiased and honest review.
Another cracking thriller by Tim Logan. When Adam and Jess move into their dream home with their family they have the expectation that everything will fall into place. But Adam is hiding something from Jess which he hopes he can quickly resolve without her knowledge. On top of this, their dream home soon reveals its own secrets. Will the couple be able to solve the mysteries of their home and be able to live their dream lives or will the dream home turn into a nightmare?
This was such an excellent read which I read in 24 hours, I just could not put it down. I was delighted and shocked by the plot. The characters were so believable and I was rooting for one character throughout the book. A great read which I highly recommend and I hope will be made into a tv series,
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for a Kindle copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Adam, Jess, their 3 children, Leah, Callum and Daisy along with the family pets move into their dream house. Situated in an upmarket area in Nottingham the family are delighted despite the amount of work needed on the Victorian residence.
Adam finds a secret room in one of the bedrooms, behind a wardrobe and panelling. As he explores this he discovers some random items in the drawers of an old dresser in the room. He starts off a catalogue of events which spiral out of control as the story progresses.
Well written, original plot and exceptionally rounded characters meant I read this in less than 24 hours and I was never sure what the outcome would be or who would be revealed as the culprit.
Brilliant read and highly recommended.
Loved it! This author’s books have the ability to simultaneously make you unable to stop reading while wishing you could bury the book somewhere deep underground where it can't be found. Compelling and didn’t want it to end!
Amazing! Just everything you'd want from a thriller/ domestic noir. It's been quite a while since I've read a book of this calibre and I loved every second of it. The plot is amazing! It's so original with so many twists and turns. The big reveal had me floored! The characters were well written and humanised. They're complex and just really relatable and likeable. It was impossible not to be invested and hope for the best for them. Its well paced, constantly moving forward and the tension is built so skillfully that I found myself listening to the noises in my own house a little bit more closely as I read through this. I really can't fault it. Definitely a must read!!
As soon as i see this author's name i know its going to be a cracker of a read. As always believable and well written characters. Its starts with what Adam finds and what he does with said items, he is also keeping secrets of his own, i just couldn't help feeling sad for him. Enough characters to keep me wondering who was dodgy? The ending was totally unexpected and the villain was not on my list of suspects! Read this far to quickly and i can see me re-reading again in the future.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy. Outstanding writing, i would give more stars if i could.
