This is the first of Logan’s books I’ve read + it was a tense, fast paced + atmospheric thriller. The premise was intriguing, the characters suspicious + the plot intricate. I had wondered at first how the story was going to play out, as the hidden room is discovered almost immediately, but there were enough twists + turns to keep the plot engaging. It was a solid thriller but is unlikely to stick in my mind for long!

This was my first read by this author, I know, I know I can’t believe it either! I absolutely loved this and flew through it. I’ll definitely be picking up other books by the author now.
Adam and his family have moved into a big house which needs a lot of work doing. It doesn’t take long for Adam to discover a hidden room and random items. Instead of simply disposing of everything Adam tries to contact the previous owners to find out more.
This was so creepy throughout I loved it. There were some very strange characters and you just couldn’t be sure if they were trustworthy or not!!
I was completely immersed in the story and the chapters were short which kept me saying I’d read just one more over and over. I couldn’t put it down.
I loved the way the author kept the uneasy, dark and creepy vibe throughout. It was so tense in places I felt like I was holding my breath! The twists and turns were so good.
If you love thrillers I recommend this one. Thank you to Compulsive Readers and the publisher for having me on the tour and for my gifted ebook.
Another brilliant page turner from TM Logan. Everything you need from a thriller is right here, suspense, plot twists, likeable characters and a great ending. Can't recommend this enough
The Dream Home" by T.M. Logan is a gripping rollercoaster of suspense that hooks you from page one.
Moving into their dream Victorian villa, Adam and Jess unearth a hidden room, revealing forgotten treasures and secrets that catapult their lives into a perilous journey.
TM Logan masterfully blends past and present mysteries, making each revelation a heart-pounding surprise. Adam's character is relatable yet complex, his quest for truth driving the narrative with a perfect balance of family safety and personal intrigue. As a psychological thriller lover, the twists in this novel left me guessing until the riveting conclusion.
Having read and enjoyed the author’s previous books, I can only say that he is definitely one of my favourites out there.
A must-read for fans of suspense and secrets!
Very grateful to the publisher for this copy, opinions are my own.
I always look forward to this author's books. This was another intriguing read which involves ordinary people buying their dream home. An unusual discovery in this dream home leads to a very extraordinary situation.
Another fantastic book by TM Logan. I really enjoyed this.
It's full of intrigue and I didn't expect some of the things that happened.
With it being called the Dream Home you sort of expect something to happen with the house, a too good to be true scenario, even without reading the blurb. However, what unfolds is great and brilliantly written.
It's suspenseful and exciting and I didn't want to put it down!
Thanks to NG for the ARC in exchange for a review.
I've read a few of this author's books now and I have yet to find one that does not get me hooked. I could barely put this down and pretty much read it in one sitting.
The author has a real knack for thrillers and creating tension - it was pulsing from each and every page. The plot develops well, with strong characters driving it. Some unexpected twists and turns along the way as you would expect. Incredibly easy to read and an engaging style. Definitely on my 'highly recommended' list.
Oh my goodness, what a cracking good read this is from TM Logan.
This author is one that I find I never ever get a bad read from.
He writes a story that reels you in almost immediately and I found The Dream Home was no different.
We meet Adam and Jess in this one. They have very recently moved in to their new home along with their young family.
While checking out the house a short time after the move, Adam finds a small hidden room behind a wardrobe. Upon discovering a number of items in a chest of drawers, his mind begins to ponder on who would have owned them or left them there.
Having a little time on his hands, he sets about trying to find out more about the house and who lived in it previously.
What happens next was almost like solving a jigsaw puzzle I found.
Each item leads on to a new discovery and with danger lurking all around his family, I felt on tenterhooks so often.
I loved how the author unfolded his story feeding us little by little. It kept up the tension and drama. You are almost searching for more.
His main characters I thought told the story so well.
The Dream Home is a fast paced story and for much of it I found I couldn't tell where he was taking it or what the outcome would be.
But isn't that's what you want in a good book..
Well worth your time for sure.
This is another great book by the author TM Logan, whose previous books I have also very much enjoyed.
Adam and Jess are a young couple with 3 children and are moving up the property ladder, buying a house with work to do in a lovely area in London. Adam has neglected to let Jess know he has lost his job and when he uncovers a hidden room in their new home he also decides not tell her what he finds.
Moving further into danger the plot becomes more complicated and Adam tries to decide who he can trust. Eventually taking Jess into his confidence they try and piece together who has suddenly become a threat to their family and why.
Although some of this seems a little Criminal Minds in it’s theories it is a great read and a story where threads mix together to seem obvious once the final outcome is revealed. The old adage of the unsub hiding in plain sight is not to be ignored.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would definitely recommend it to those who enjoy family drama, thriller and a great plot.
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I think this is TM Logan’s best book yet. It. Has a real sense of menace about it. I got so sucked in that I didn’t finish reading it until 1am, it’s the very definition of unputdownable.
When Adam and Jess move into their new home, he finds a hidden room behind some fitted wardrobes, with a random selection of belongings inside, including a dog’s collar and a Rolex watch. Adam is hiding something from his wife, and makes a decision which makes everything in his life unravel very quickly, and soon he and his family are in real danger.
Is this a great work of literature? No. But it is a rattling good thriller with a lot of plot twists and a likeable (if slightly foolish) protagonist. Fun stuff. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
Synopsis …Adam and Jess move into a new house with their three young children: a rambling Victorian villa in a nice neighbourhood right at the very top of their price range. Before long Adam discovers a door hidden behind a fitted wardrobe, concealing a secret room . . .
Inside Adam discovers a collection of forgotten items: a wallet, an expensive watch and an old mobile phone. Jess thinks they should simply throw them away. But Adam resists. He is fascinated by these items and how they came to be inside the hidden room.
But like the house, Adam has his secrets too. And soon he will find himself setting in motion a series of events that will place his family in terrible danger
My thoughts ……. A new house a new start - loss of job for Adam
and a hidden room where objects are found. How everything changes in a split moment of choice as everything spirals what has happened in that house. Adam is prime investigator he should not be but he is!!! @tmloganauthor does not disappoint in this novel of intrigue and twists and turns of a good story plot !
He’s known as the “Master of the up-all-night thriller”! There’s a very good reason for that! This is a chilling page-turner that will definitely keep you glued to the pages!
I couldn’t put this down! Told with just the right balance of chills, thrills, unanswered questions and red herrings, this is a story that ticks every single box for the perfect psychological thriller.
Adam and Jess have moved their family into a large Victorian home in The Park, a smart neighbourhood in Nottinghamshire (I did love the references to Sherwood Forest!) They know they’ve extended themselves rather a lot, financially speaking, but the house is gorgeous and even though it needs lots of TLC, it’s a project they can work on together and it will all be worth it as the location is perfect for their needs.
When Adam discovers a hidden room in the house that his family has just moved into. He finds an assortment of random items there and tries to piece together their significance. In so doing, he sets into motion a series of events he could never have imagined.
The story is told from Adam’s point of view but every so often there are brief chapters thrown in about different people who seem entirely unrelated to what’s going on. I must admit, I did suspect some of the outcome, but I had no clue as to the ‘whodunit’ part of the plot until literally a page before the reveal, when it suddenly dawned on me who it could be!
This is TM Logan at his brilliant best. He creates believable, relatable down-to-earth characters who are just like you and me. He’s skilled and adept at building his story, and in so doing, heightening the tension and anticipation of where things are heading. This makes for nail-biting, unputdownable, 5-star reading! It’s bound to be another TM Logan bestseller!
The Dream Home by @tmloganauthor
Well this book was very twisty and turny, not to mention unputdownable! This is why you never buy a really old house without thoroughly checking the history.
Adam and Jess are moving into their dream home with their three children. It was at the top of their price range but they thought it was worth it. Until Adam came across a hidden room with an array of forgotten items. Jess just wants to throw them out, but Adam is far too inquisitive and wants to find out where they came from. He soon wished that he had left the past well alone.
I could not stop reading this. I was completely engrossed from the first page and barely stopped reading it until I had devoured the whole book. I don’t get scared easy and horror books barely a chill with me, but this sent shivers down my spine because this is my worst nightmare. I’ve watched enough YouTube videos where new home owners find hidden things in their houses, even rooms, to know that no good can come from these finds!
I wanted to shake Adam at times for not leaving well alone, but then there wouldn’t be such a gripping story if he had.
I had absolutely no clue as to who had left the items and who had caused the murders until the killer owned up. A truly terrifying read that you won’t be able to walk away from.
A huge thanks to @netgalley @zaffrebooks @bonnierbooks_uk for the ARC.
4.25 stars! I really, really enjoyed this. It had me gripped from the start and I found the pacing/suspense to be spot on. There’s a couple of errors with it being an arc; eg there’s reference to using the old flip phone but seeing the blue ticks like on WhatsApp, there’s a reference to a stamping ground that I think should be stomping ground. Overall this was a great read that kept me hooked throughout waiting to see what would happen. Parts were creepy and I found myself speeding through the last few chapters - one day read and would highly recommend for a fast paced thriller!
A good read
Had me hooked from page one till the end
Plenty of twists and turns which you won’t expect
Thanks NetGalley
I always know I am in for a good read when I pick up a book by TM Logan and this is no exception. It is another compelling read that kept me turning the pages (probably too late when I should have been sleeping!) and kept me guessing right to the end.
Adam, Jess and their three children move into their dream house, a Victorian doer-upper in an upmarket area of Nottingham. When Adam discovers a secret room on the top floor of the house, he has no idea that what starts as an intriguing discovery becomes so much more when what he finds there puts him and his whole family in danger.
I must confess to having a personal connection to this book – I spent the first five years of my life living in a Victorian house in The Park in Nottingham where this book is set – so it was particularly easy for me to visualise! That aside, this is a book that had me hooked from the off – with relatable characters, there is a level of creepiness right from the off, and the tension only builds. You never know who to trust and suspecting everyone, I had to keep turning the pages to discover the truth – and I for one was certainly surprised by the dark turn the story took as it headed to its shocking ending.
I was really looking forward to this one after reading The Mother last year and I went in with high expectations and it was good but just not as good as I was hoping. I felt it took a while to get going and I thought I was intrigued by the hidden room the items he found just didn’t seem very exciting and worth the effort to get back.
I did like a few of the twist that happened towards the end and it definitely picked the book up a bot more.
Overall decent but not a stand out for me.
I’ve read most of this author’s books and have enjoyed every one. In my view, Tim Logan is the UK’s Linwood Barclay. His books feature ordinary people in the most extraordinary of situations and The Dream Home is the most mysterious and menacing yet.
91 Regency Place, a large Victorian villa has dark secrets and when new owner Adam makes an unusual discovery, he should really have left well alone. But of course he doesn’t, he is that person who has to delve further. He and his wife Jess innocently make a call to a phone number which kicks off a string of events and puts the whole family in danger. The house of their dreams has led them into a nightmare. Adam is not perfect however and I was disappointed in him for hiding secrets of his own.
Interrupting the main story are short background snippets and it didn’t take long to suspect the relevance that these had to the story. Adam becomes obsessed with investigating the past and some of his actions cause events to spiral out of control. There were times when I worried for him and felt he was making bad decisions but that gives realism, after all he was just an ordinary bloke, not a superhero with experience of dealing with the darker side of life.
A good book for me is one that I want to keep picking up. I was hooked on this story, suspecting everyone and trusting no-one. I had suspicions about the what but the why and who kept me guessing. I think this is possibly the darkest of his books I’ve so far read and I very much enjoyed it. The descriptions of the house in its Nottingham setting give that atmospheric vibe. If you want a suspenseful thriller that has pace with underlying menace then do pick up The Dream Home.
Another great read from TM Logan. The dream home is a chilling tale of murder. When a family move into their new home they are excited for the next stage of their life. When the father uncovers a secret room in the house everything starts to unravel. In trying to find out why it is there the whole family become embroiled in a cold case!
Lots of intrigue and interesting characters. There is plenty to keep you guessing as to what happened in the house and who is behind it all. Somewhat slow in pace to begin with, but the final part is utterly gripping!
What an absolute corker T.M.Logan. I could not put this book down, it had me gripped from start to finish, with great characters, a great plot and a twist I never even considered when the culprit was revealed. A fantastic read and the best yet, I know I said that on the last one but now this one is better.
So what’s it about. Adam, Jess and their 3 children have found their dream home a Victorian house with lots of character, they know it needs a lot of work doing but they fell in love with it on their first viewing. The day of the move Adam takes some things up to one of the rooms at the top, but he is puzzled as the shape isn’t right compared to the room below, as he starts to look closer he moves the wardrobe which is blocking part of the wall as he moves it he finds behind a beautifully finished wooden design which blends with the rest of the house but why would someone hide this gorgeous woodwork. As he starts touching the wood he manages to find something that opens the wall which is actually a hidden door as he enters the dark area, he notices just a few odd bits of furniture, nothing special until he starts looking at the dresser all the drawers on it are locked so he searches for the key. By chance he finds it as he opens each drawer there is just cheap bits in each one except for one he finds an old mobile phone and a Rolex watch. He pockets the watch and takes the mobile downstairs with him thinking he probably has a charger somewhere. The children laugh at the old phone, but Jess manages to get it working and sends a message from her phone to say they have found it should the owner want it back. But then the fun begins, messages start coming about the phone, someone wants everything Adam found in that room and if it’s not handed over then there will be circumstances.
The tension in this novel soon pick up and Adam is doing everything he can to protect his family. But can he do that? Will the person responsible beat them. All the characters in this book are believable, likeable, and perfectly crafted you feel like you know them. I found myself sitting on the edge of the sofa as I read this one.
