Adam and Jess move with their 3 kids into a large old house that is their dream home. When moving in, Adam finds a hidden room and in the room he finds an old cell phone with almost no numbers saved, an expensive Rolex and a number of other seemingly meaningless items. Adam and Jess make the mistake of calling a number in the phone and wind up opening up a big can of worms when they start getting threats demanding they they return all of the items that were found in the hidden room.
This is the kind of plot I really like, uncovering secrets from the past. I was initially very engaged in what Adam found and what the significance was. My interest waned a bit in the middle when I felt like Adam was spinning his wheels and no new info was turning up, but then things really picked up and we came to a tense conclusion where the perpetrator was someone I never suspected. This was an another really good read from this author. I have read all of his books and look forward to many more.
This was a very interesting thriller which has entertained me greatly over the last day and a half of reading it!
I was pretty sure from near the start what the objects were and why someone wanted them back but I failed to figure out who that person was and suspected most people Adam did as well as some more, including Jess at one point! Once the reveal was made it seemed pretty obvious but only at that point even though with the explanations that had come before as well as during the reveal, it all made sense of the narrative.
This was my first TM Logan book but it wont be my last, I already have most of his back catalogue I now just need to make time to work my way through them!
Im such a huge fan of T M Logan and patiently wait for every new book release and The Dream Home did not disappoint. He truly is the master of the up all night thriller. The tension builds so well that its so hard to put the book down! I also love thrillers based on houses, whether they are haunted, or there’s something mysterious, and this plot is so clever and well executed, weaving together so many different facets of the story. Another excellent book from T M Logan.
“It was everything they wanted and more than they bargained for”
The novel follows Adam and Jess who move into a Victorian villa with their three young children - their dream home
Adam discovers a door hidden behind a wardrobe, inside he finds items such as a wallet, an antique watch and an old mobile phone.
Adam becomes fascinated by the items and how they ended up in the hidden room.
Full of secrets and suspense - a real page turner.
Really creepy, so compelling, who can you trust.
Thanks @tmloganauthor @zaffrebooks & @netgalley for the fabulous dark thriller
The Dream Home was a gripping read and I was hooked from the first chapter. This book had me scared about what was going to happen next but I knew I had to read on. The idea was written in such a unique way and it was paced out well.
Adam, Jess and their 3 children have just moved into their new home, it needs renovating but it is their ideal home. Adam finds a hidden room containing some odd items and the more he investigates, the more trouble he gets not just himself but his whole family into.
Some of the characters were quite odd which left me feeling suspicious about some of them. The ending was so unpredictable and I was left feeling shocked at what I had just read. I love how some of the chapters ended on cliffhangers and that made me want to carry on reading. The book is written in such an incredible way and it made me feel worried for the family.
T.M. Logan never disappoints with his books and I am always so eager to read them as soon as possible. If you haven’t read any of his books before, I highly recommend!
I do enjoy sitting down to read a book by Logan and this was no different. Adam and Jess are moving their family into their dream home. However Adam soon finds something unexpected which sets in motion a dangerous series of events.
As with all of Logan's reads, this was incredibly intense and thrilling and I knew there would be plot twists along the way. I found myself gripped by this and eager to know what was going to happen next. There are teasers along the way but even I was surprised by the final reveal which made for electric reading. I do have a minor negative in that some of the actions taken by the characters border on the ridiculous but I put this to one side and enjoyed the plot for what it is.
I found the main characters of Adam, Jess and their children to be very likeable and I was concerned as to what may happen to them. They also provided light-hearted moments along the way and they really felt like a real family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this latest read from Logan and highly recommend it if you are looking for a fast-paced, twisting read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for an advance copy.
I found this different to the authors other books but in a really good way.The story was filled with lots of tension and suspense and was hard to put down.for me definitely his best book to date. The culprit in the end was not even on my radar..T.M Logan is one of the most exciting authors out there at the moment.
Highly recommended.

Loved this book, always look forward to a new T.M Logan book!
Adam, Jess and their children move into their dream home but Adam makes a discovery that will turn it into a nightmare.
Loved the premise for the book, it really makes you think about previous owners of houses you have lived in. Well plotted and lots of twists, I didn’t guess the ending either so was kept in suspense right the way through. T.M Logan is brilliant at building and maintaining the suspense through all of his books.
The main character of Adam did frustrate me a bit but he was also relatable in his curiosity. I’m sure if the same thing happened to me if I moved into a new house I would be just as nosy!
Already can’t wait for the authors next book.
There is so much to love about TM Logan’s writing; but for me, most of all, it’s his skill in capturing his readers’ attention from the very first chapter. And, boy, did The Dream Home kick off with a bang!
Adam, Jess and their three children have just moved into their new house in a posh enclave of Nottingham. It’s a doer-upper and needs a lot of work to restore it to its former glory, but it’s the kind of home they’ve always wanted, and while it’s stretched them financially, they can’t wait to get started on the renovation. What they don’t know is that the house is hiding some very dark secrets.
And then comes the hook: the discovery of a blocked-off, secret room containing an old Welsh dresser and hidden within its drawers, a bizarre collection of items — a scarf, wallet, glasses, keys, and dog collar, as well as a valuable Rolex watch and an ancient mobile phone.
What follows, as Adam, his curiosity piqued, sets out to solve the mystery of the room and its hidden ‘treasure’, is a sinister, increasingly dark and twisty tale of kidnappings, murder and secrets, and escalating danger for Adam and his family.
This was an incredibly tense read, with Logan constantly ratcheting up the suspense through the liberal use of foreshadowing and the presence of a chilling, unidentified voice that made my blood run cold.
I was totally convinced by the character of Adam; by the fact that it was his own flaws that precipitated the unfolding events and by his growing paranoia as these spiraled out of control.
Logan’s plotting is sharp and seductive, the very essence of a page turner. Strewn with red herrings, twists and blind alleys, it kept me gripped and guessing until the end.
What surprised me the most, however, was how dark the story gets; darker than Logan has ventured before. This is easily my favorite of his books, and a trend I hope he continues.
3.5 stars
Having read all of T.M. Logan’s books I simply had to read this one.
Adam and Jess move into their new home with their three children.
Adam soon discovers a hidden room next to a bedroom and finds some intriguing items in there.
One of the items is an old phone so he decides they should ring the number that’s in the phone.
This then starts a string of events and soon their lives are in danger.
I’ve really enjoyed all the previous books but there was something missing in this one for me. It’s still a good read and has a few surprises in store but it didn’t get my heart racing like some of his other books.
Thanks to Bonnier Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
3 stars! This was not my favourite TM Logan book but not my least favourite either. The premise was pretty strong, although I’ve started to be wary of books where a new family moves in and finds something in their house.
Adam discovers an extra room in their new house, a small space not on any of the plans with minimal furniture. He discovers this pretty much straight away in the beginning of the book, so the suspense hasn’t been built up yet. He becomes pretty obsessed with the seemingly random objects that he found in drawers in this room: a watch, a scarf, a flip phone, etc. I’ve got to say, if I found these things I’d probably just throw them away or keep them put away in some random drawer and save myself all of the hassle that Adam then went through. I enjoy TM Logan’s writing, and I thought there were enough characters to not be boring but not too many to get confusing.
The most disappointing thing for me was the ENDING! And that’s the worst feeling in a thriller book. When the reveal happened I was just so let down by who it was. This, and some either reasons, made me feel like this wasn’t Logan’s most complex and well thought-out book. One of the other reasons was that we find out at the start that Adam has lost his job. Then it was not really mentioned and he didn’t try and do anything about it for the rest of the book. It felt like this was a very cheap and easy way to explain how Adam had all this free time on his hands to obsess over these mundane items.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this and will read more TM Logan books in the future, but I was disappointed by the plot and ending in this one.
People have pasts and secrets and sometimes those secrets are also concealed within the walls of a house. Some of the secrets are small and almost benign, but, just occasionally they are serious and dangerous. So when Adam and his family move into a house which is within their budget they are delighted. It does need work and there is plenty of room for them in this Victorian villa.
Adam discovers a room, that didn't appear in the plans and it is well disguised, but he discovers that this room holds a secret. It will open a big can of worms that he did not expect!
This is a cleverly written book and one that starts well. The family are introduced and the scene is set. There are not many people in this book, mainly the family and just a handful of carefully selected others. Moving into a new house, working and renovating does not leave much time for meeting any neighbours properly.
the discovery of the hidden room opens up into something much more devious and dangerous. The threat to the family becomes very real and the author does this so well. It makes you doubt as to where this will go. The suspense is something that creeps in and as the story continues it becomes more threatening and the thriller element really kicks in.
This is a story that has many twists and turns, when another character is brought in I did not know if he was credible, dangerous or what they were. By this time in the story everyone became suspicious. I can say that I was never sure "who was it" in this book until it was dropped!
This is a brilliant story and one that is full of suspicion and threat. It is one for those who like thrillers that have a sinister edge to it that borders on being a psychological thriller. Twisted and devious and one I would definitely recommend.
The Dream Home was a book I struggled to put down.
Adam and Jess and their three children move into 91 Regency Place, it’s a detached victorian place that’s right at the top of their budget. After moving in Adam finds a secret panel at the back of a wardrobe that leads to a secret room comprising of an armchair and a piece of furniture with several locked drawers. After locating the key he finds every drawer has one item in it from a scarf to a wallet to an expensive watch and more including an old mobile phone. Adam needs to find out what they are doing there and why but to do so will put him and his family in danger as these secrets are better left where they were.
This was a book I loved from the very beginning, the storyline was great and the characters were well developed. It was quite dark at times but the tension was great. Adam despite his flaws was likeable as were all the characters. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep it interesting and the big reveal….. I didn’t have a clue!! So bonus points there!!
I would like to thank NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK, Zaffre for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for an honest review. This review is based entirely on my own thoughts and feelings.

Having only read one previous book by this author, I jumped at the chance to read this and it didn't disappoint. Ive recently been growing a bit tired of domestic thrillers, they can be a bit samey, and the whole lieing to your spouse thing is grating, but this was excellently done here. I liked all the characters, and there were a few, and was rooting for the MC throughout. The twists and turns were great and the big reveal at the end fooled me, I didnt see it coming. If youve read any of his others and enjoyed them you will not be disappointed with this fast paced read.
T M Logan is an author that I pick up without reading the blurb. I just know it's going to be a great read and The Dream Home is no exception.
Right from the beginning there's a sinister feel when the Wylie family move into their new home. And it gets seriously creepy after Adam discovers a hidden room with an old dresser containing what appears to be long forgotten items. But as is typical with a Logan book nothing is quite as it seems.
I found this book really hard to put down, it's fast paced and filled with tension. The nice short chapters keep you wanting to read just one more chapter. I enjoyed trying to guess the ending but with a few red herrings thrown in, I just didnt see it coming.
A small spoiler for the animal lovers who might be concerned about the pets in this book. None are harmed and all are OK at the end. However there is an incident with a deceased pigeon.
Thank you to @bonnierbooks_uk @zaffrebooks for providing me with an ARC to read and review.
A genius premise and a pacy page-turner. I didn’t know who to trust and suspected everyone. Absolutely amazing!
When Adam, Jess and their family move into the gorgeous new home, they still can't believe it is theirs. It needs a lot of work, and when pulling out some old fitted wardrobes, Adam finds a hidden room, interesting enough, but what he finds in there will put his and his family's loves in danger.
I mean, this will put anyone off moving house if nothing else! A great, twisty thriller that had me guessing all the way through!
'The Dream House', is the new release by T.M. Logan, an author whose previous work I have admired greatly. This time, Logan has demonstrated his exceptional ability to captivate readers with his engaging writing style and cleverly crafted plot.
Although the pace of this storyline was slower than what I have come to expect from Logan's work, it was more than compensated for by the intricate plot twists, the well-developed characters, and a conclusion that left me in awe. The book's unique storyline ensures the reader is on a journey filled with suspense, unexpected twists, and turns that keep you guessing until the end.
Logan's writing is skilful, and he has created a cast of complex and relatable characters. The protagonist's internal struggles are explored in-depth, and the secondary characters are well-developed, with unique stories that add richness to the plot. The book's ending is particularly satisfying, tying up any loose ends and leaving the reader with closure.
Reviewing this book without revealing spoilers is challenging, but I can assure you that 'The Dream House' is an excellent read, which I highly recommend. It is an enjoyable read that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
This is creepy and twisted, but keeps you reading through your beating heart and fingers over your eyes! I have enjoyed everything this author has written and this is no exception!
A fast pace thriller that hooked me from first page
Jess and Adam move into their new house with their 3 children and he discovers a door hidden behind a fitted wardrobe, a secret room with collection of forgotten items from 20yrs ago. He tries to find out whose items they are and comes across twists and turns with creepy situations that he faces
Good all round
