When Adam and Jess move into a new house with their three young children, they discover someone else’s secrets that place them in terrible danger. The story is full of tension and misdirection and is a real page turner. I loved it!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
I found myself in dire need of a gripping book to pull me out of my reading slump, and T.M. Logan's "The Dream Home" stepped up to the challenge. Right from the beginning, the intrigue was palpable, and I found myself eagerly turning the pages, hungry for more.
However, as the story unfolded, I couldn't help but be frustrated with the main character. His constant evasion of responsibility, especially regarding his job, became a recurring annoyance. It felt as though he was dancing around his problems instead of facing them head-on. Moreover, some of his choices and decisions were, frankly, exasperating, and his intelligence seemed to be on the dimmer side.
The protagonist's bewilderment about people knowing where he lived raised an eyebrow. It was apparent to me that he himself had disclosed this information freely, and common sense would dictate that the adversaries could easily track down the house associated with the items in question. It left me questioning the character's perceptiveness.
Towards the conclusion, I stumbled upon a few plot holes that I hesitate to delve into without revealing spoilers. I'm optimistic that these issues might have been addressed in the final editing stages, but they were noticeable enough to slightly dampen the overall experience.
Despite these critiques, I must admit that I enjoyed the overall journey that "The Dream Home" took me on. It successfully reignited my interest in true crime novels, reminiscent of my reading habits from the previous year. My only wish is that the narrative had been more tightly woven, eliminating the loose threads that left me pondering. Nevertheless, it's a tale worth exploring for those seeking an engaging read with a few bumps along the way. If I gave half-star reviews, I would certainly class this as a 3.5-star read. However, I don't, so I will round this up to four, as I did enjoy it as a whole.
I know a TM Logan book is never going to disappoint me and I was right with this one! Gripping from the start and with the twist and turns all up to the final twist. I never even guessed what would happen!
100% again for yet another fab book!
I always get excited for a new T.M Logan book, and this book was no exception!
The premise was very simple, but Logan's writing just made it such a page turner and super engrossing.
A mystery room? Mystery items? Missing people? Same death dates? What's going on!!??
Overall, the reading experience was more enjoyable than the actual mystery itself. The resolve was so boring, and straight forward that for some readers it could be frustrating. But I enjoyed the 'journey' or the process of getting to the end so much that I am still giving this book such a high star rating.
This is not the best T.M Logan book I have read, and lacked in some mind blowing twists. The ending felt really straight forward, and maybe didn't need so many pages to actually get to. The ending was a bit of a let-down, but I will still continue to read T.M Logan's books as the writing is still super engrossing, even if the twists weren't the most shocking this time around.
Wow. What a book. I absolutely loved it.
It’s full of tension, mystery, secrets and suspense.
Adam and Jess move into a new house with the three children, a rambling Victorian villa, their dream home.
Adam discovers a concealed secret room, with a collection of forgotten items inside. Adam is intrigued and wants to find out more about the mystery room and the items, which leads to a series of events that will place his family in great danger.
The plot is brilliant, with so many twists and turns and an ending you don’t see coming. The characters are well written and just really relatable and likeable.
The multiple timelines work really well and add to the suspense and the descriptions of the house creates a creepy atmosphere. I loved how the story gives the sense of paranoia and leaves you with niggling questions. Just brilliant.
I was hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down.
Overall, a fast paced suspenseful edge of your seat thriller. It doesn’t disappoint.
Highly recommend for fans of this genre.

Book 8 by this author and have loved all previous 7
This one I liked, it was a fine story of a new house, a hidden room and secrets from the past
I found it a bit juddery as it randomly went to new characters ( new to the story but old as in the house’s history )and situations and also found it over descriptive and repetitive, however the writing is good so you don’t mind so much I guess
The author is fab and so will leave it there and look forward to Book 9 😎
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for my ARC. I was so excited to receive a T. M. Logan thriller, especially after reading The Vacation, which I loved! The writing, as always, is impeccable, and eerie descriptions of Adam’s investigations give it the extra layer I crave. It’s a disturbing story, so buckle up for some seriously hair-raising moments!
Adam and his wife, Jess, are excited to move into their new Victorian home which requires refurbishing. But the area is top notch, the front façade to die for and a dream come true for this family of five. When Adam finds a hidden room with a collection of personal belongings, eleven days of nightmares and questions begin. Who do they belong to and how did they get there? Why is there a hidden room? Even more sinister is a camera hidden in a tree in front of their property. Adam is determined to get to the bottom of it all, and disturbed by the possibility that someone is watching them. When their youngest child wakes one night, insisting there was a man in her room, the pace accelerates.
Another worrying factor was the outward lack of police interest, and where initial statements seemed to go nowhere. What I really enjoyed is the camaraderie between Adam and Jess, particularly when they didn’t know who to trust. Although he was very secretive over a decision he made to remedy his shortcomings, this couple remained strong and investigated together.
Around the middle section, I thought I knew how it might end. But I was wrong. It was a Pandora’s Box of secrets, unleashing the worst possible consequences. With so many twists and turns, and danger escalating to fever pitch, I was as determined as Adam to rid the family of these horrors. What I didn’t expect was just how hard Adam would have to fight to protect his family.
This is a tension-filled psychological thriller that will leave you wondering if your house holds any hidden secrets. If so, are they are better left alone?
The Dream Home by T M Logan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks to NetGalley for this advanced copy of The Dream Home.
This is a thriller packed full of tense and quick action! As per usual with T M Logan books the chapters are short and fast paced and keep you reading for ages!
The story was really interesting and honestly kind of spooky thinking about the secrets and dark stuff moving into a new home could unravel! But I loved reading about it and trying to guess (unsuccessfully) what would happen next! The twists the book took were so fiery and tense my heart was pounding through a lot of the last chapters!
I think the book ended in a natural way that summed everything up nicely too! It’s definitely going to be recommended to anyone that loves a fast paced read and lots of suspicious characters!
TM Logan didn't disappoint again
There are twists and turns galore
Fabulous writing
Thank you netgalley, Bonnier Books UK and TM Logan
TM Logan never disappoints and The Dream Home is another addictive and brilliantly-written thriller full of well-developed characters, a tense and fast-paced atmosphere, and enough twists to have you questioning who can trust.
The Dream Home had me hooked from the start. I loved the premise of a couple moving into a house and finding a hidden room, and I was really eager to see where it would all lead. I thought I had a few things sussed out, but I far from had the whole picture. The revelations at the end were very interesting, and overall made a very satisfying conclusion.
Although Logan's thrillers usually have quite a domestic setting, they are far from domestic in entertainment levels and shock factor. You can always rely on Logan for an unputdownable read, and The Dream Home is another cracker full of secrets and suspense.
This gripping thriller begins with Adam, his wife Jess and their two children as they move into their dream house 91 Regency Place. Very quickly, Adam discovers a hidden panel that leads to a forgotten space holding secrets that puts the whole family in danger and becomes a nightmare as Adam tries to solve the mysteries that the house holds. Adam is also harbouring a personal secret that cannot be held long term.
The story had me guessing from the start but I continued to change my mind, so it held my attention throughout.
My thanks to Net Galley and Bonnier Books for the digital advanced copy.
I’ve just finished this book and I think it’s up there with being one of Logan’s best. I was keep tense the entire way through I just kept picking the book up to find out what happens. I am dropping it a star because the “whodunnit?” I was so mad haha. I actually frowned. I didn’t guess which is brilliant. I normally always do. But I was completely hoodwinked with this one but I am not happy about who it was! Fabulous read. This will be popular.
This book sadly wasn’t for me. There just didn’t seem to be very much happening, all over eleven days.
It centers around Adam and his family moving into a new house and discovering a secret room with long forgotten items in them. But someone from the past wants these items.
Adam has no idea who wants them or why and throw in some murder, suspicious deaths and missing people. It had the potential to be interesting, but I couldn’t warm to Adam or anyone else and I started skipping it very quickly so I could get it finished.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for the ARC in return for an honest review.
A brilliant fast paced thriller read from one of my favourite authors which kept me on the edge of my seat all the way
All the characters were interesting and the storyline was excellent.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bonnier Books for this great ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.
I didn't love this one as much as TM Logan's other books which makes me sad. The storyline was great and the characters were interesting, but I just didn't connect to it the way I have with his other books.
I read and loved all books TM Logan has written, so I knew I couldn't go wrong by picking this one up... and indeed I was not disappointed, I think this is probably the best one he has ever written.
Full of mystery, very dark, this book is filled with situations and things that cannot be explained. I was in the dark for most of it, I really had no clue who was behind it all, why, and how... what a wild ride. I really loved not being able to predict where the story was going. The ending was clever, I didn't guess the perpetrator but I wonder if reading the book for a second time I would be able to find clues... because I'm sure they were scattered all over the place but I wasn't able to see them at the time.
An absolute page-turner, this is a must read for all thriller lovers!
Thank you NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for a digital advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
When I got an email to say I would be automatically approved for this book I was excited to get my hands on another TM Logan having enjoyed the other books I’ve read.
I must say I wasn’t disappointed, I flew through this book and enjoyed every minute of it.
The whole way through I thought I knew what was going to happen and to some extent I was right but I definitely didn’t see the ending coming!!
The plot was clever and the characters all worked so well together and were intriguing, always having to second guess intentions!
A brilliant thriller that kept me on my toes and wanting to read on to find out what was going on!
Oh this book was so good! I know I'm always going to love a new T M Logan book and this one was no exception.
The story begins with Adam, Jess and their 3 children moving into their longed for forever home. However, whilst unpacking, Adam stumbles across a secret hidden door. What he finds there will change the life of his family forever and nothing will ever be the same.
I found this completely unputdownable from the start and stayed up until late into the night to finish it! The plot is imaginative, yet believable, the characters are real and the twists and turns are tension packed! The atmosphere of the old Victorian house is brilliantly captured, making the heart pounding moments even more terrifying.
Like some of T M Logan's earlier books, this would make an incredible tv series!
Highly recommended to anyone that loves a tautly plotted, well written domestic thriller.
Huge thanks to author T M Logan, publishers Bonnier Books UK Zaffre and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Adam and Jess move into a new house, a rambling Victorian villa right at the very top of their price range. Before long
Adam discovers a door hidden behind a built-in wardrobe, concealing a hidden room. Inside, Adam discovers an array of forgotten items, among them a wallet, an antique watch, and an old mobile phone. Jess thinks they should simply throw them away. But Adam resists. He is fascinated by these items and how they came to be inside the hidden room.
Adam, Jess and family have just moved into a new home, only for Adam to find a hidden room inside a built-in wardrobe. Adam is desperate to find out more about the items he found hidden in the secret room. But the more he investigates, the more intrigued he becomes. But Adam is hiding secrets too.
The story is filled with mystery, suspense, secrets, and it's a tense read. There are plenty of twists and red herrings. It's told from Adam's perspective. There are some really shady characters, and some eerie and creepy situations. This page turning read had me on the edge of my seat.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #BonnierBooks #Zaffre and the author #TMLogan for ,y ARC of #TheDreamHouse in exchange for an honest review.
Very grateful for the ARC @netgalley @tmlogan @bonnierbooks.
What a read Jess and Adam but what sounds like the most amazing house. Their three beautiful children by their sides. Then the find which changes everything. Suspense engaging totally suprised. Felt thank ful for the support Adam gets although trust no one. Love the quote “it’s only bricks and mortar, after all. A house is home because of the people in it”
