Liam was a wolf shifter in a town that was starting to be against shifters. There was a group leading the charge and unfortunately for them, they targeting his human mate. He tried to stay away, but just couldn't. She thought that he was rejecting her, but really, he was trying to protect her. When they finally got together, sparks flew and they really bonded. Then he told her they couldn't be together again but when something happened that was unheard of, he finally got his head out of his but and told her how he really felt. She forgave him and they completed the mating bond. It was a good story
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review
This story is about a sizzling shifter romance with Liam, the pack's second-in-command, finding his mate in December, a feisty human bookshop owner. But December's not sold on the whole mate thing, especially with her tragic history involving another shifter. As the danger heats up from an anti-paranormal group, she's forced to rely on Liam for protection. The story's got it all – Liam's persistent pursuit, December's resistance, and a plot thick with suspense and danger. Katie Reus nails the balance between romance and action, keeping you hooked from start to finish. With unexpected twists and a seamless tie to previous characters, this is a must-read for fans of steamy paranormal romance.
Primal Possession is a re-released and revised book two of the Moon Shifter Series by Katie Reus. I did not have the opportunity to read the first released so I can not comment on the changes in this story. I would think that it has been updated and fits today more than the previous release, sadly hate groups are still a problem in today’s world.
Part of the paranormal shifter’s pack this second-in-command, Liam Armstrong finds surprisingly that his mate is a human. December McIntyre is serious about seeing that Liam understands that they have no future. Until that is when danger comes along to her, then Liam is going to do whatever it takes to protect her. Also there are some wonderful supporting characters rounding out the book.
A thrilling supernatural tale with strong characters, danger at every corner and a love that won’t be denied. Fans of the fantasy/paranormal romance will certainly want to read Liam and December’s story.
An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved Liam and December. I became invested in them in the first book and their story exceeded my hopes. The chemistry is off the charts. The suspense and action are intense. The entire cast of characters are complex. I love that you get a lot of story for several of them. I immediately want to start the next book! The ending for this one was great and there were a couple jaw dropping moments.
Should shifters and humans be together. Liam and December thought so. Not all humans thought the same and were hunting humans who might mate with shifters. There is plenty of danger for December and Kat her friend. Can her relationship stand the test. This is a pretty steamy relationship and there are plenty of surprises in store for all.
Part of a series hunt out the other stories.
Thank you NetGalley and (publisher) for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
I had a hard time getting into this one, maybe because it was a bit darker than I expected. Or more likely it was because there were so many POVs. I find ensemble POVs to be frustrating, since its are to really get to know the characters, but also hard to keep track of when they switch. But this is more of a personal preference, as I generally find if there are more than 3 POVs and I start to lose interest and there was at least 5 different characters in this one.
I like both December and Liam, but December at times seem to be TSTL which made it hard to really like her. And I found her 180 emotional turns to be a bit hard to believe at times. I think I would have liked both of them more if we had been with them more, but this is really a large ensemble book that only technically follows these two. I feel like there was almost equal amount of page time for Kat and Jayce and isn't not even their book (they are the focal couple for the next one).
Generally a solid paranormal romance if you prefer them more on the suspense side, just not for me.
Primal Possession by Katie Reus.
Moon shifter book 2.
Liam who is second in command has found his mate. But December doesn't think so. She will not be easily told what to do by Liam. But when her safety is questioned Liam will do anything to protect her?
I really enjoyed this book. I loved how Liam and December were with each other. I'm looking forward to the next book. 4*.
This is the third book in the Moon Shifter series and is another fun read that keeps us totally engaged (In the original series this was the second book) This is the story of Liam and December who we met in Alpha Instinct and we knew that where going to end up as couple even as December tried to deny it. Liam is the brother of the pack alpha and from the first moment he met December a human bookshop owner he knew she was his mate The only problem is her younger brother was killed by a shifter years earlier and if they connect she will lose the rest pf her family When she is targeted by shifter haters due to her friendship with the pack then Liam will do whatever he needs to in an effort to keep her safe and hope that close proximate will wear down her resistance Can they have a happy ending You will have to read to see but you are going to get a fun read that will keep you engaged until the last page
This second full-length book (there's also a novella) in Katie Reus' Moon Shifter series reboot is good, though the second half or so was a little meh and rushed. It follows second-in-command wolf shifter Liam and his pursuit of human December. Their pairing began in book one, so we knew it was coming; although I suppose it could be read as a standalone, reading the series from book 1 is probably the better option.
So the same threats are in play here as previously: Human shifter haters out to destroy our favorite puppies and those who love them. The humans even have a hate group (APL), in which most of the men are interchangeable and have typically WASPy names; I kept confusing Joseph and Edward, not to mention Tony and Greg. December is a target due to her connection to Liam (one she fights until she doesn't). Even so, more drama happens to her friend and fellow human Kat than to December. That said, both are captured and beat up with alarmingly frequency.
(Tangentially, December is an unusual name made even more curious by the fact no one asks for the story behind it.)
I liked December and Liam mostly, but I'm afraid December occasionally strays into TSTL territory, and Liam is just an idiot when it comes to his mate. Fortunately, with the latter at least, his idiocy is a known flaw.
I really didn't understand the last part, but saying too much would be a spoiler. I just felt like what happens to December happens ridiculously easy and isn't well explained. I did love her hurling a fistful of the "things" at Liam though. He'd reached peak idiocy in that scene and deserved it.
Anyway, much like Liam and December were teased in book 1, human Kat and enforcer Jayce's pairing is teased here (plus a tiny bit in book 1 as well). I have to say that I find Kat and Jayce more compelling as a couple than I do Liam abs December. Looking forward to their story next.
I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this 2nd book in the series
and what a series this one is....
liam armstrong is second in command of his pack but he is about to meet his mate and she is human....
december is the sister of the local police and is also the book owner in town... but she is about to become of interest to a group of people who want to get rid of shifters everywhere, they arent above kidnapping women and children either to get what they want..
december and liam are about to get a whole heap of trouble around them, from decembers brother for dating liam, from the vigilante group who want to force shifters from their towns and both of them at times are fighting their attraction to each other.. though liam knows december is his destined mate, hes in for a rocky road...
another great book in this series cant wait for the next one, the characters are all amazing and well liked
Liam is second in command of his wolf shifter pack. He and his brother, the Alpha, has only been in town for a couple of months but they joined with another pack.
December owns a bookstore and her brother is sheriff. Their brother was killed by a shifter and she is weary of them. A group of radicals has targeted her because of her association with Liam.
Liam wants December as his mate but she keeps pushing him away. He's bossy and overprotective and she just wants to be friends. When she's tied up and hit in her own home, Liam takes her back to their ranch. She finally decides that she can't live without him and he starts pushing her away. Will Liam get his head out of his butt and get the woman he loves? Will December have to choose between Liam and her brother?
Great story. Action. Sex. December is a beautiful red head with a tragic past. Liam is loyal and protective. The beginning made me feel like I'd missed several chapters.

A Page-Turning Read!
He’d been obsessed with her from the moment he set eyes on her but she wouldn’t entertain him. Liam would never give up, she was his fated mate and when things turned dangerous, he would protect her with his life.
December was wary of shifters after she saw one kill her brother but for some reason Liam wouldn’t take no for an answer and was slowly wearing her down!
An engrossing action packed storyline following on from the previous books in the series but with new love interests so it can be read as a standalone.
The fire and passion between them stands out within the storyline which will keep you glued to the pages as the plot takes different twists and turns and will leave you gasping with this action packed highly recommended read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Primal Possession (Moon Shifter, #2) by Katie Reus
I am totally enjoying this Moon Shifter series. This is Liam and December's story. His brother is mated to Anna and is the Alpha of the combined packs. December is a human whose younger brother was killed by a feral shifter and her older brother is the sheriff and can't forgive what happened. She is targeted by a group that hates all shifters and there is angst, danger, suspense, evil, some laughs, tears, love, and steam to get to their HEA. I can't wait for more in this series.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Tear-jerker Haunting Tragic Action-packed Twisted Steamy Romantic Easy-to-read Informative Wonderful characters Scary Entertaining Great world building Witty Page-turner Happily Ever After.
