The Couple’s Revenge-
My rating is 2 stars.

This is the first novel I’ve read by Daniel Hurst and likely the last novel, too. It was marketed as a “jaw-dropping, psychological thriller,” and I just didn’t find that to be true, which is unfortunate because I love a good psychological thriller.

Was I expecting this book to be the G.O.A.T of thrillers? No. But I was expecting an exciting read by an author that was new to me.

There are a lot of things that really turned me off of this book. story is boring. The plot was dull and didn’t elicit any excitement from me. The characters aren’t memorable (with the exception of Zoe Atkinson and that’s only because of her tragic story.) There was zero momentum or build up and the plot twist was unimpressive. The police work in this novel was laughable and completely unrealistic.

I’m disappointed in myself for sticking it out and spending the time it took to finish this book. I have no interest in reading anything further by this author.

I received an advance reader copy and am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

This is another excellent book by Daniel Hurst, this time addressing bullying in schools.
When her son comes home from school acting very strange, Sara and Guy eventually find out that Jacob is being bullied.
The perpetrator is Mason, a boy previously expelled for bullying a girl who ultimately committed suicide.
Guy and Sara reports this boy, which leads to a police investigation.
What ends will a parent go to, in order to protect their child?
This is a riveting book about a prevailing issue amongst our youth.
I highly t recommend this well written book.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Couple’s Revenge’ written by Daniel Hurst in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Sara and Guy are your normal family with a son Jacob nearly sixteen and daughter Amber at university. When Jacob returns home from school one day and locks himself in his bedroom they realise something’s wrong but they couldn’t have foreseen that he was being bullied by the same person who just two years ago had been instrumental in a young girl committing suicide. When the same person deliberately attacks Jacob seriously injuring him, Sara and Guy decide that enough is enough and they have to do something to stop him from hurting anyone else.

‘The Couple’s Revenge’ is another brilliant thriller by this very talented author that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading. From page one I’ve been totally involved in the story with characters so believable and realistic that at times I found myself in their shoes wondering what I’d do if my child was being bullied. It’s well-written and contains drama, suspense and twists and turns, with an ending that comes as a surprise but works extremely well managing to tie up all the loose ends very nicely. I can wholeheartedly recommend this thriller that I’ve been unable to down and finished in one day, proof of how much I’ve enjoyed it.

I love Daniel Hurst’s books; he’s definitely one of the best domestic thriller authors at the moment.
I was super excited to read this new book and it certainly didn’t disappoint. It’s fast paced with plenty of twists and turns throughout. It’s definitely worthy of 5 stars.

This book was not my favorite. I found the plot line to be slow and dragged out. The storyline wasn't interesting enough for me to want to keep opening the book to read. I guessed the twist right after the event occurred and wasn't shocked at all by it.

A mother's instinct. It's not something I have, but it was something Sara had. She knew there was something wrong with her son. How far would you go to get revenge when something horrible happens to your child? Sara and Guy make that choice. I liked the back and forth between husband and wife.... they both had different perspectives. There were some great twists in the story I wasn't expecting. Daniel Hurst does a great psychological thriller!

Guy and Sara are devastated to discover their son Jacob is being bullied by Mason. The lad has form for it that has led to devastating consequences. Suddenly their happy son is a shadow of himself and the pair are gutted. After a particularly distressing attack they decide to take matters into their own hand. Suddenly they are now covering up a crime.
This book tackles the hard subject of bullying and the lengths that loved one will go to protect others.

NEVER DISSAPOINTS! Daniel H is an amazing author! this book was a page turner like all the rest i literally read it in a day and a half which is normal. I enjoyed the characters and the plot a lot. His twists and turns i never ever see coming and as someone who reads ONLY thrillers! that speaks volumes!

A short and sweet revenge-fueled story by the author who never seems to suffer from writer’s block!

In the couple’s revenge we meet guy and Sara, two doting parents who worry about their son, who’s starting to behave different. After some digging, it’s revealed that he’s bullied by another boy, and it’s a race against the clock to solve the situation.

Hurst manages to convey the fear of a parent, and I like that he tackles a serious problem like bullying. It’s obvious that the parents are really worried and that this worry motivates you to do everything you can to prevent further harm. You need to know how they solve the situation. There are some moments where I thought: ‘oh, how will you get out of that?’ Especially after guy makes some choices that puts him in a tough predicament. At the same time, I’m sure many would be swallowed up by the need to do something.

The ending was surprising for sure, and I had to put some disbelief aside to take it all in. It fitted the narrative however.

One thing I’ve become a bit tired of is the use of the sentence ‘get my own back’ which is repeated so many times in Hurst’s books that I could probably tell it’s one of his books just by that alone. But every author has his trademark style, so can’t blame him for that.

Overall an enjoyable read about a serious subject.

This was slightly darker than I expected but still a great read! This was my first Daniel Hurst novel but definitely won’t be my last. Along with being dark, this was emotional and moving as well as thrilling.

Really enjoyed this book and will read more by Daniel Hurst now. Was a crazy, emotional coaster of a read.

I will admit, I only read the ending of this book. Another reviewer laid out the entire book, so I didn't feel it was necessary to read. I enjoy Danie's books, but I always feel like you can skip the middle and get right to the ending. This did have a good ending though-not what I was expecting.

A great thriller with strong character development. I love that you have given multiple perspectives and that each character is relatable in some way. A few cultural shifts from US to UK but nothing that would hinder my ability to read and enjoy the book!

Another great read from Daniel Hurst. Focusing on bullying & how far parents would go to protect their children. So many twists and then a great ending.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in return for an honest review.

I'll be honest, I was incredibly disappointed in this read. I made it to chapter 15, 40% in and couldn't get myself to go on. I did read other reviews to see if the second half would be worth my time, but I can't force myself to read a whole book to try to make it to a final twist. Maybe I am the only one, but I was bored and hardly felt like this could be described as a thriller. I have been told by so many people that if I like Freida McFadden, I would also enjoy Daniel Hurst, but if all of his books are written similarly to this one, I don't know that I'll be picking them up. Maybe the second half is amazing, but the first half was not my cup of tea.

The Couples revenge by Daniel Hurst is another fabulous read. The author never disappoints and always with his trademark twist at the end.
Sarah and Guy have a happy life and will do anything for their children Amber and Jacob. So, when Jacob comes home from school and uncharacteristically goes straight to his room without stopping for anything to eat. Like he usually does. Jacob is a happy friendly child but not today.
Sarah knows that there is something wrong, but Jacob doesn’t want to talk to her. So, she asks Guy to come home from work and speak to him. But when husband Guy finds bruises on Jacob and find out that it is a boy called Mason Cross. All he want to do is seek revenge.
This story is every parent’s nightmare and very relevant to what happens today. This is twisty and emotional thriller, and you can feel the frustration between Sarah and Guy when they find out that their son has been bulled. But the Police are not seeming to do anything. I couldn’t put this book down. I read this in a day. I highly recommend. 5 stars from me.

This was my first book by Daniel Hurst and it will not be my last. What a great, fast paced thriller.
I was feeling every emotion of both parents as they felt helpless when their son was being bullied and so mad at the police for not doing anything.
It was a fast read and hard to put down as I was so interested in the outcome. I definitely did not expect that one last twist.
Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I needed a thriller and it definitely delivered. First time hearing about this author but can’t wait to check out more. What would you do as a parent to keep your child safe? That is Sara and Guy’s dilemma. Face paced, kept me turning and guessing. I had an inkling on what happened but enjoyed reading how it plays out.
