Pure Daniel Hurst…..but with more than a touch of dark about it
This story looks into how far parents will go to protect their children and what they will do when someone threatens their child’s happiness
Told with the authors usual story telling brilliance that immerses you from page 1 and his ‘what happens to ordinary people when life comes knocking’ this story, for me,was a look into family love and loyalty whilst hovering around the question of why do some teens act they way the do and is it more nurture than nature
The author cannot put a foot wrong in his ability to write and tell a superb story and has yet to write something that isen’t addictive
Another great read
Daniel hurst is amazing. I read anything of his, I don’t even bother to find out what the description says, I know I’ll love it. I especially loved this one because I’m a parent, and this book is about how far parents will go to protect their child. But of course it’s not what it seems…
Wow! Daniel Hurst just doesn't let up with the suspense, stomach tightening and instilling fear! Finished his latest, The Couple's Revenge, in under 24 hours! Compulsive, propulsive and a fabulous read!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!
What Daniel Hurst does best is write a short, 200-250 page thriller that sucks you in from the beginning and never lets you go till the end. There were so many twists and turns, and I was truly shocked by the ending.
He has easily become one of my favorite authors and this one is no exception. This one focuses on the million dollar question, just how far would you go to protect your child? I would like to say that I would not go as far as murder, but I am not a parent.
When our two main characters Sara and Guy find out that their son is being bullied, and no one is doing anything about it, they just might take matters into their own hands.
This is a true popcorn thriller and can be and should be read in one sitting for the ultimate experience.
“The Couple’s Revenge” is a thriller by Daniel Hurst. I would recommend this book to those who like a good revenge story. I cannot say that, on the whole, I liked any of the people in this book, but it was an okay read. This book is told in alternating chapters from the viewpoint of the two main characters - Sara and Guy. Sara notices that her son, Jacob, is acting strangely and eventually Jacob admits to being bullied by a known bully in the neighborhood. The police and the school are useless, so Sara and Guy decide to take matters into their own hands. While I found some of Sara and Guy’s actions understandable on an emotional level, from a rational “step back and think logically about this” level it was a mess. When the big reveal is, well, revealed, I had to back-track because I missed a key few sentences (that’s what I get for reading late at night). If you’ve read Mr. Hurst’s books before, you can see the reveal coming, though I did like how the set-up played out. This book kept me engaged, but I cannot say it’s my favorite by him. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.
Omg Daniel Hurst is the best ever! I never ever have to decode whether to read his books or not! He is the absolute best writer and will always be an auto buy author!
This book had great twists and turns and just amazing. Never disappointed!
WTG LOVE THIS AUTHOR!
Same formula, different story. I am over this author.

The Couple's Revenge by Daniel Hurst is another completely immersive read from this prolific author.
Sara and Guy work hard to provide a comfortable life for their children, Amber and Jacob. When fifteen year old Jacob becomes uncharacteristically distant, alarm bells start to ring, and Sara intuits that there is something off with her normally well-adjusted son. Jacob reluctantly reveals that he is being bullied, and his parents know that they will do anything to keep him safe. But just how far are they really willing to go out of love for their child?
This is another page-turner from an author who has well and truly cemented himself as an automatic read for me. I don't even need to read a synopsis, confident that I will be in for a treat and, no surprise, his latest had me flying through the pages. 4.5 stars

LOVED IT! Daniel Hurst has done it again with yet another captivating, fast-paced thriller that I could not put down. Revenge reads are my absolute fave of the thriller genre and I have a strong hatred for bullies, so this book was deeply satisfying to me on so many levels. I thought that I knew where this story was going and how it was going to end, but I should have known better. That curveball was so nicely delivered that even the most prolific of readers wouldn't have seen it coming. Great job! Hurst fans are going to love this one! It's by far my new favorite stand-alone by him and I can't wait to read what he comes out with next. I highly recommend this to all of my psychological thriller friends out there!
