What a glorious read this book is superbly emotionally charged! We are introduced to the three sisters Thea, Ezzie and Valentina. This book focuses on the story of Thea as she meets a stranger called Devon who has secrets of his own that may tear there relationship apart before it even starts. The dog Daisy who Thea and Devon rescued stole my heart. The author has written a book that you just need to know as much about the characters as possible as you become invested in their complicated lives. The plot is entertaining with quite a few surprises in the mix. The setting is relaxing and it's a complex situation in regards to family but in the end the truth can set you free! A brilliant book that I gobbled up!

Thea is very happy working as a head gardener on the Isle of Skye, until her past catches up with her. She is coping with the support of Deveron, recently employed as a gardener, but who is he really?? Lovely holiday/wet day reading, another best seller form Sue Moorcroft.

À thoroughly enjoyable read set on the Isle of Skye. Lots of different storylines which all involve Thea as the main character who is very likeable as is Dev the love interest and adorable fluffball Daisy, a dog. Covers lots of issues including low confidence, adoption and the evils of social media, especially influencers and trolls, when things get out of hand. Beautiful descriptions of Skye really enhancing the peace and quiet to be found there. Lots of twists and turns along the way so one never knows what life is going to throw Thea's way next.

I've read quite a few of Ms. Moorcroft's books and was happy to get to read this one early. It was a lovely story with a gorgeous setting but story was a bit slow for me. I still enjoyed it although there were too many secrets and waiting around for things to happen.

I liked the three sisters a lot and loved seeing that not having the same parents didn't affect their close relationship and the sacrifices they made for each other. Thea finding out about her origins was a nice subplot in the book.

Thea and Deveron's evolving closeness was lovely to see, and I enjoyed how they both loved the gardens. Their relationship was sweet and supportive, and I was glad when the truth prevailed for both of them and they got their HEA.

It's an easy read, and although not one of my favourites from this wonderful author, I still liked it and think others will enjoy it. I especially enjoyed the description of the Isle of Skye that transported me to Scotland for a bit!

Oh how nice to have a new series from Moorcroft- and set on Skye to book! Thea, one of the three Wynter Sisters, is now the head gardener at Rothach Hall. The gardens are healing, her sisters are here, and then there's Dev. He's also back on Skye with a back story that won't come out for a while. To be honest, we all know how this is going to end but the journey is delightful. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. A good read and now I'm eager for the next one!

An easy read, the characters are all likeable in spite of their flaws.

I’m always in my happy place reading a Sue Moorcroft book.

Thea Wynter relocated to the Isle of Skye with her sister some years back. Thea is head gardener at Rothach Hall and loves her life.

From the beginning of the book I was absolutely hooked. It’s set in a wonderful location of The Isle of Skye, and described so well that I would like to visit.
A believable story that has some good twists in it.
I loved Daisy dog too, what a cutie and character. Sounds very similar to my wee dawgie.
I just love the authors writing style, you feel drawn into and welcomed into the book to enjoy.
I look forward to reading the second book in this series very much.

What a beautiful romance story with great storyline and great characters. Really liked the writing style and the cover is beautiful will definitely read more from this author.

An enjoyable light read set in one of my favourite holiday destinations. Loved the descriptions of the house and cottages on this lovely island. And loved the dog!

It seems 40-year-old Thea has put her troubles behind her having settled on Skye as head gardener at a country estate where her sister Ezzie is assistant manager. Things look even more promising when handsome seasonal gardener Deveron comes into her life, along with stray dog Daisy. But Thea doesn't know Deveron is an undercover reporter for a sleazy website, hoping to uncover the secrets of the past tragedy that made her flee her old life. Without meaning to, he brings trouble in his wake - is it all going to fall apart for Thea?
This was a really engrossing story. Alongside the main narrative, there is a secondary plot of Thea searching for her birth mother. Underpinning the whole story is the theme of loss - loss of her old life, loss of family, loss of her own sense of self when she discovers her late adoptive mother and father had not told her the whole truth.
But there is joy and discovery and love to balance things out, making this story as comforting as it is engrossing.
As always, Sue Moorcroft's characters are strong, warm and empathetic. Thea is a delightful person, and, despite his initial deception, Deveron is everything you want in a romantic hero - but only if you are willing to forgive and forget, which might be a step too far considering the mess he drags Thea into.
Thea's adoptive sisters, Valentina and Ezzie are also great characters, warm and supportive, each with troubles of her own which I understand will be addressed in follow-up books. I'm very excited for them, and I hope each still takes place on the beautiful island of Skye, which Sue Moorcroft describes so beautifully. It's wild, wonderful and welcoming, just like this story.
Another winner from one of my favourite authors.

Oh, what a beautiful, beautiful story, I loved every moment of this very emotional, wonderful narrative with well written characters, at times making me turn the pages so quickly to see what happened next and I laughed and cried with equal measure, bravo!

A great summer read which will make you want to visit Skye. Realist characters and an engaging storyline.

This book opens at the scene of an accident between a car and a cyclist. The story then leaps forward nine years and catches up with Thea Wynter, who works as head gardener at Rothach Hall, a stately home on the Isle of Skye. A quick recap tells us that Thea has two sisters and that they are all adopted. We also learn that Thea had a successful career in television with a role not dissimilar to those of Charlie Dimmock. There is also a hint that Thea is avoiding contact with a cyclist from her past.
As the story gets going, we are introduced to an applicant for a vacancy on Thea’s team. She’s sure that he’s called Tim or Tom, but he turns out to be called Deveron Dowie. Their meeting is sudden as he rescues a young dog from a tangle of weeds and water in a local burn. His heroics serve as a perfect interview for his role. Of course, there’s a back story to his presence at Rothach Hall, and his ulterior motive could cause Thea’s world to implode.
It’s immediately obvious that an extensive volume of research had been invested into this story as the Isle of Skye came to life as I was reading. The landscape, ever-changing through the different parts of the day, captured my imagination and led to a desire to revisit that area of Scotland. I’ve not been as far as Skye, but I have travelled up the West Coast and seen the rugged beauty that is exquisitely described. I paid particular attention to the tutorial on local pronunciations.
Sue has a real knack for creating and navigating family dramas. The bond between the three sisters is as strong as steel, but an unforeseen weakness challenges their relationship. Thankfully, Sue’s storytelling remains flawless, and we are able to follow the developments at a safe distance.
I cannot recommend this book enough; it serves to show how accomplished Sue is with her storytelling. The warmth is tangible, and the story is totally relatable and told through beautifully developed characters.
I’m really excited that this is the first in a trio of stories, and I am already looking forward to learning more about the other sisters.

The perfect summer read! I loved the characters who were well written and believable and the descriptions of Skye, really brought it to life. A feel good story that had plenty of surprises and twists to keep the reader engaged till the end. I loved it.

I don’t know how Sue Moorcroft does it. She writes fabulous books with innovative stories, gorgeous locations which make you want to jump on the first plane, plot twists, and extraordinarily well crafted and believable characters – flaws and all.

When life circumstances meant that Thea had to disappear, it seemed like a good idea to go to Scotland where her oldest sister already lives. Thea and her middle sister Ezzie both found a job in a beautiful stately home on the Island – Thea as Head Gardener and Ezzie – running the office as deputy manager. When a handsome stranger, Dev, rescues a puppy from drowning he steals a little bit of her heart – as does the puppy. Despite misgivings as to why all his worldly goods are in his car, he is given a job at the stately home when it turns out that he is an excellent gardener. Is the mysterious Dev all that he seems? Will the secrets that Thea is running from catch up with her on this remote Island?

A beautifully written story, set in a gorgeous part of the country, and with very believable characters. Lots of twists and turns – all in all a wonderful story. Sue Moorcroft does it again.

A new series from one of The Queens of escapism.
Set on the gorgeous Isle of Skye we meet Thea who works as Head Gardener at Rothach Hall. She moved there with her sister Ezzie following her stint on a reality TV series. But the past is close behind and Thea has to battle lots of obstacles before finding true peace.
This was such a lovely easy read with such lovable characters, and Daisy the dog was adorable too.

I love a book that is part of a series and this one is no different! The book is situated on Skye and our heroine Thea is a gardener on a private estate. This book has some gorgeous scenery written into it and I'm looking forward to the next part of the series already.

Just the perfect summer read that you would expect from the wonderful Sue Moorcroft. This book kept me hooked from start to finish and I loved everything about it. I am so pleased that this is the first of a trilogy. I cannot wait for the next instalment.
