You will have lots of fun while reading with the young one because you will not be able to help it if you start dancing and making all the sounds the writing tells you to do so!
It’s fun with more of fun action words and sounds. The illustrations are just fun colourful and looks candy edible, if you know what I mean!
Thank you, Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, for the advance reading copy.
Super cute children’s book with great illustrations. Shows so many professions out there for children to explore! Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!
I love the vivid colours and costumes in Scrambled Eggs by Happy Yak. Despite the fact that I was limited by reading the Kindle version of the eARC and didn't get the full experience as a split page board book, I very much enjoyed reading this picture book.
These eggs showed how versatile they were and maybe indicated the cool adventures they could get up to. A pirate egg, a runny egg and movie star egg were some of my favourites. The fact that you can then scramble them up so it's a mad mixture is a whole barrel of fun.
This led to me musing about which toddlers I knew would enjoy this read and interactive fun. That fun note was dimmed when I remember Scrambled Eggs isn't published yet and therefore couldn't feature as a 2023 Christmas present. I can only console myself with the fact that there are birthdays coming up in 2024 and that will be a perfect excuse to read this book again in the near future.
A lovely blend of text and illustrations. Delightful for big kids as well as small ones.
My thanks to NetGalley and publishers for a copy of this book in return for a honest review.
I love this book. It would be adorable and so entertaining for a toddler once printed. I love the fun.
This is such a fun book that will keep your little one giggling. The mix and match elements is a fun way to be engaged in the reading and will keep your child’s attention.
Such a fun book to read! The illustrations are amazing also. This is a definite one to have and share with all of your friends!
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing an e-copy of the book for me to review!
Scrambled eggs is an adorable little children's book that gives you 13 different little eggs with their own personalities, and with the physical of the book I believe that the pages are split horizontally across the middle so that you can mix and match the different tops and bottoms! You could have a Space Figure skater, or a Monster cowboy! Anything that your little one can think of!
This is a great book to practice matching with younger kids with, and imagination with kids a bit older. Take turns with your little one choosing a combination and telling a story about that new character! I can see how this book would provide hours of entertainment for younger kids, and when I can get a hand on a physical, this will be perfect for my older children to read to my youngest!
If you like a board book with cute quirky egg characters and the ability to mix and match, then Scrambled Eggs will be perfect for your family!
Scrambled Eggs is a wonderful split-page board book that is going to be a delight for both kids and parents. The simple form of the egg keeps all of the tops and bottoms of the images in sync while the colorful costumes, lively backgrounds and amusing captions make each combination a delightful mash-up. Many pairings are possible such as "Twizzle, twirl! A ballerina egg" with either "sitting in a stinky swamp" or "coming to save the day." The final spread reels the reader back to America's favorite egg-filled holiday with a chocolatey conclusion.
Such a cute little interactive book. I love that there are lots of different ways to read this book. It’s not just a turn the page and read it a turn the pages and see what a fun new eggs you can discover. I know my kids would have loved this book when they were little. It’s fun and the images are adorable and I love that you can make multiple eggs with just a turn of the page.
I always loved these kind of books as a kid - hours of fun with the interactive & engaging experience. I think children will find this book very funny with the ability to make a monster do ballet.
Cute idea. Great visuals. Will be fun as a mix and match board, but there’s also not much to this book either. Which is fine cause it’s a kids book, but what kept it from 5 stars for me
Cute idea for a mix-match board book. Obviously loses some of its mix and match ability in the ebook format but doesn’t take much imagination to see how kids would giggle about a ballerina in space.
Thanks Net Galley and Quarto publishing for letting me review the ebook.
