I have to admit that I am devastated that this is the end of this series. I have enjoyed every single moment of this romantic suspense series (with a touch of the paranormal thrown in). If you like the sound of these elements then you definitely need to give this series a go!
Our hero is a rich lawyer with big connections and is on a mission to save his sister and her friends who are caught up in a web of conspiracies that all started with a chemical fire. During his research he discovers that the woman that broke his heart 7 years ago and left him is involved and now he must track her down and get to the bottom of not only the conspiracy but also the feelings that never really died.
This conclusion was the perfect way to give closure to the series and the rest of the couples from the series as you get to see quite a lot of them. Second chance romances aren’t normally my thing but this one definitely hit the spot.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Author Collective 20 for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series, but reads well as a stand alone. This is a 2nd chance romance. For not having seen each other in 7 years-they acted like it was yesterday, with no issues. A lot of miscommunication because of the 7 years. The ending felt rushed and vague to me. I think there were a few issues but it was still a good read. 3.5 stars
I think this is the final book in this series and that makes me sad. It is a paranormal romance series that involves all of your standard tropes with a dash of supernatural in the form of telekinesis, being bullet proof, reading minds etc.! I didn't realize this book was going to be about Mitch, but I was here for it. This is a second chance, with an almost enemies to lovers vibes.
Seven years ago, Mitch's heart was stomped on and dragged through the shredder. The woman of his dreams. The woman he was going to ask to marry him told him that she had actually been married the whole time. Since then he has closed his heart down. He has been with women, but no one who has held his attention or challenged him. No one who reminds him of Halina. Now she has been implicated in this jigsaw puzzle of people who were involved in the chemicals that have wreaked havoc on Mitch's family and friends. These are the chemicals that they were all exposed to and now have powers from. He knows that she wasn't who he thought she was but surely she couldn't be involved in something so devious...could she?
Halina has been in hiding for years. She has relied on her training and how she grew up to not let anyone in. She has an attack dog trained in Russian who holds her most important secrets on his person. All of that changes when she sees him again for the first time in the flesh in 7 years. Yes him- her Mitch. The man she loved whole heartedly. The man she would do anything for to keep him safe. And now he is here asking her all kinds of questions. Accusing her of being someone she isn't because of how badly she hurt him. It takes everything in her to keep him out, but slowly OH so slowly her walls start to crumble. He starts to get the picture on what all she has sacrificed to keep him safe. On what all she is willing to do to keep him alive even if it means they aren't together. But neither of them can deny the sparks they still feel for each other. Will they be able to get past the hurdle of the lies that were told for love? The lies that were told to protect?
The only thing that bothered me about this book was that the big bad, the Senator, was taken down pretty quickly in this one. This was definitely more character plot driven than plot driven if that makes sense. There was a lot that was uncovered and pieces that had been laid out in previous books that were finally put together and solved. I liked the glimpses of Agent Owen and his possibly future lady friend. Wondering if anything will come from that?
I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! If you haven't picked up this series, I do recommend it! They are all fast reads with great characters.
Wicked Wrath is the final book in the Phoenix Rising series. After 7 years in hiding, Mitch and Helina are reunited and embark on a gripping, action-packed and steamy adventure to uncover those that are behind the government conspiracy that affected all of their team. I was glued to the pages right from the first chapter. A great finale to a great series!
Thank you NetGalley and author Skye Jordan for the copy in exchange for an honest review.
"When Helina Beloi went into hiding seven years ago, she understood her fate. She’s been forced to watch over the love of her life as he moved on without her. And as long as she holds the key to keeping the deep state at bay, she ensures he will live a safe, successful, happy life.
After Helina broke his heart and disappeared, Mitch did an excellent job of playing Most Eligible Bachelor in an effort to move on. But as new information surfaces, implicating her as a crucial player in the deadliest game of Mitch's life, no amount of expert evasion will keep him from getting answers.
Now, terror, danger and heat will fuse them together or shatter the future. . ."
This is the 4th book in the Phoenix Rising series. I devoured the first 3 books and so does this one. I really love this series. It is a page turner.
Love love love this author, Wicked hot romance, suspense and action, leaves you wanting more! This is a book you won’t put down, but want to, to keep it from ending. This is Mitch and Halinas story. Good stand alone but might want to read in order to get the dynamics of the team. Loved the attack dog that protects her!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
I am so sorry, I thought I submitted this review eons ago!
I loved this installment! Every book has just gotten better and better. I loved Helina, loved that she loved Mitch so much that she stepped out of his life to help keep him safe. I love that they never got over each other. This was just an edge-of-your seat pairing. You wanted everything to work out, and you knew it would, but still there was the how. My mind whirled with the possibilities. Such a great read. Jordan really know how to grab me and keep me engaged to the point I wonder how things are going for the characters when I put the book down, like they are alive. Those are the kinds of books I love getting lost in!
I have no words for this book. This series has had me crying with each story, but this one really got to me. You can’t help but feel the love and pain from Hali as things are explained. I wasn’t able to put this down until I finished it. It was an amazingly written story and I can’t praise it enough! I was given a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
It seems like a chapter has closed for this series but there are still other characters that could have their story. I just loved Halina and Mitch. What a good second chance romance. And so nerve-wracking too!
I’ve loved every minute of this series and hope for more.
5 stars!!
WICKED WRATH by Skye Jordan.
Phoenix Rising series.

I really did enjoy this book. I loved the cover. The chemistry between Halina and Mitch was sizzling. 5*.
Halina has been on the run for a long time but the past has finally caught up with her and now she will have fight to survive. Mitch never thought he'd see Halina again but he needs her help to help his family and friends defeat the bad guys once and for all. There is a lot of baggage between them. Can they stay ahead of the bad guys long enough to rekindle their love?
Readers of the series are familiar with snarky, irreverent Mitch but readers have never seen bitter and angry Mitch. It was interesting to finally learn why Mitch is the way he is. It has always been obvious that he is fiercely protective of the people he loves but this book introduces how deep his capacity for love is. I like how the author rolled out his "growth" (it's in quotes because I'm not sure it's the right word). Halina lives in constant fear from her past so she has prepared to survive as best as she can. The author took a risk by introducing Halina to the group from the rest of the series. It was nice to see the rest of the team working to understand why Halina and Mitch were having trouble seeing that they belong together. While all of that was going on the author had side stories occurring outside of the group. At times it felt like there was almost too much happening, but it was all needed in the end. I thought the bad guy fit the feel of the story. It was totally over the top and sometimes didn't make any sense. This book does wrap up the big overarching storylines from the prior books.
My one big issue with the book was something that can't be avoided when an author writes something this big. There are a lot of people and moving parts. At times it feels a little overwhelming and confusing.
This is a contemporary paranormal romance. You have to read the rest of the series before you read this installment because this completes some huge storylines from the overarching series. I will read more from this author in the future.
Wicked Wrath by Skye Jordan is such a beautiful book to read. This book is about two broken people with a dark past trying to build the trust between them.
This book have a high sexual tension, plenty of explicit spicy scenes, past lover, betrayal, secrets, angst, suspense, action packed, thriller, heart breaking moments and tears. This book really hooked me up. The things Helina do to survive and keep her beloved one safe shows a strong female character. And everything that Mitch do to show Helina that he still care for her shows their love are unbreakable even after seven years passed. There's a lot secrets to reveal between them to clear the misunderstanding.
I'll definitely be waiting for more books from Skye Jordan and I'm really need to read next book.

Wicked Wrath was a decent addition to the series. Halina was a great protagonist and Mitch had his moments has a hero. There were parts I really enjoyed and the Paranormal elements were interesting. There was a lot of miscommunication that seemed to wrap up very quickly for seven years of no contact and the end was a very quick resolution. I loved seeing some insight into previous characters and the progress on unraveling the mysterious reasons for the crews powers.
Wow! This book was amazing! It drew me in and kept me reading until the last page! I couldn’t put it down! It was packed full of drama and danger. I loved Helina and Mithc! They had amazing chemistry! There are parts of this story that I legit cried big fat ugly tears over. Like all the feels man.
Finally we are starting to get some answers about the night that changed the life of these firefighters for ever and it just happens that Mitch the defence attorney that is trying to get those answers and has locked on to the senator he believes responsible has a connection with the scientist that may have the answers Seven years earlier Halina left her life and the man she loved behind in an effort to keep him safe but here he is wanting answers that will pace him in danger again. Will she give him the answers he needs will they admit there is still a deep attraction between them You will have to read to see, but be prepared for a fast paced fun read that you won't want to put down until you turn the last page
I love Skye Jordan's Phoenix Rising series. Wicked Wrath is book 4, and I'd recommend reading the series in order before beginning this one. Although each book is about one couple, the overarching storyline is complicated, with the stories entertwined. The genre is romantic paranormal suspense, if that's a thing, and the main trope is second chances.
Book 3 (my least favorite) ended with Mitch discovering his old flame was chin deep in the conspiracy surrounding his friends. He thought she'd wilfully broken his heart seven years before when she really left to save his life. He tracks her down to see if she is a missing link in solving his problems. Of course, the spark is still there, living quite happily beside the anger.
I adore both Halina and Mitch, and I really felt the chemistry. There was, perhaps, a bit too much "We can't be together/ yes, we can" drama, though I suppose it's necessary. I also felt the first half was much better than the second, which felt rushed. I found myself getting confused by a who's who of secondary characters. Halina's powers are sometimes unclear and seemed easily solved by the end.
While book 3 clearly leads into book 4, that doesn't happen here. I'm hoping there is more to the series (Ty! Cash!) anyway.
I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
“Wicked Wrath” by Skye Jordan is about Helina and Mitch. Helina had been in hiding for seven years when she was forced to leave the love of her life in order to protect him. Mitch has been slowly rebuilding everything he’s even known after being heartbroken. With his family and friends in current danger his investigation to find out why has led him back to her, Helina.
It is a great book for someone who loves a lot of action, danger, and bickering. Helina and Mitch fight like crazy with a bit of miscommunication trope sprinkled here and there. The beginning was slow but when it picked up it was packed with so much action and romance. I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars, it was good, but I don’t love mystery solving type book as much as the fantasy aspects, and this book leaned more into the mystery romance feel than fantasy romance feels.
To be fair, the beginning of the book started quite boring and I was unsure if I wanted to carry on. However, I pushed through and found that this book was so good! I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but I would definitely recommend it to those who I think would be interested in the specific genre. I loved the first person but I think there could've been some more depth added to it :) Overall, I would give the book about a 2.35-2.75
