Thank you for my eARC of this book. This was a lovely spring read that entertained me and gave me a bit of escapism.
Captivating and heartwarming, this romance novel weaves a tale of love and passion. The chemistry between the characters sizzles, and the plot unfolds with delightful twists. With its engaging narrative and well-drawn characters, it's a journey that leaves the heart fluttering and a smile lingering—a perfect escape into the world of love.
Presley is the opposite of a country girl but for her 8 month anniversary with her boyfriend she booked a cabin at the Get Lost Lodge. That didn’t go over well, they broke up so Presleys only option is to go it alone. The owner Beckett is a huge help but it’s clear at her arrival she’s made a mistake. Fishing, hiking, nature really isn’t her thing. Beckett and his family try their best to make her trip worthwhile but they have a lot of other stuff on his mind too, running a crumbling lodge isn’t easy. Neither of them have time for a relationship yet they can’t help feeling drawn towards each other.
This had everything I’d hoped for and a bit more! The Opposites attract trope, lots of tension, funny and sweet moments. Beckett and Presley are great together and I really appreciate them being open about their feelings and expectations. They didn’t have a lot of time so why not make the most of it. Stepping out of their comfort zones and taking a chance, I love it!
The environment and other characters are great. I’m not an outdoorsy person myself but I quite like books with small town vibes and Becketts family is incredible. They may not agree on everything but they’ll always support each other in the end.
If I could suggest a change I would’ve liked a bit more spice but that’s my personal preference.
Stepping outside of your comfort zone and taking a chance is difficult and that only made me appreciate especially Presleys journey even more. Highly recommend it, 4,5 stars!
Presley had organized a camping trip for her boyfriend of eight months, but his reaction wasn't what she expected, so she decided to go it alone. She bumped into Beckett on the boat ride there, and he could clearly see that she was out of her element. Still, circumstances forced them together and love would follow soon after 🤭
I liked the chemistry between these two as embarrassing situations kept bringing them together 😂 Beckett was also the sweetest #hotmountainman 😉 He took care of Presley and made her feel special. This in turn brought to light how she had settled for subpar treatment from her ex.
One would think falling in love in a week would be too fast, but I think the fact they had an expiry date on their time together had them letting go of all inhibitions and just enjoying time together. The time apart was painful, but I loved that they worked it out.
I loved the lodge setting with all the rustic cabins and wonderful guests. It all had the makings of found family and I definitely felt the bond that developed between the guests and the siblings.
Thank you to Netgalley and Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When I first heard about this book it sounded amazing and I was really excited when I got this arc but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped.
My main issues with it were the insta-love trope and how sloooow it was, which might seem contradictory but the struggle was real. I had such a hard time getting into this book and getting invested into the characters and their relationship. Because everything happened in the span of about a week, you can imagine how slow it was.
Ultimately, not the book for me :(
2.5/5 stars
A big thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review.
I really wanted to love this book but unfortunately it wasn't for me
I don't enjoy reading insta love stories but if you do, then this one is for you!
A fish out of water, opposites attract romance. The story of Presley and Beckett, who meet when she is on holiday on her own on the island where his brother's Lodge is located. A great read, I liked how it was told from both points of view and hope the stories for Beckett's siblings are coming soon!
Initially I was really excited but this didn't last long unfortunately. I found it hard to really get into the book and I kept having to take breaks which is unusual for me when reading.
This was a DNF for me. The romance seemed quite unnatural, which is quite ironic given the book’s title. The author seems to have determined the characters are in love at first site, and the way they interact with each other is so unnatural, that I soon lost interest in the storyline’s progression
"Love, Naturally" is a romance written by Sophie Sullivan.
Fast, light and funny novel, which gave me a few hours of total relaxation. However, it did not convey much to me, leaving me rather indifferent. The fault, in part, has to do with my personal tastes. In fact, this romance is written in the third person, and unfortunately, I am not a fan of third person romance. I don't know why, but I often struggle to connect with the story and the characters, as happened in this case.
I enjoyed the setting, but otherwise I found the plot rather rushed. The book takes place in about ten days, and the development of the characters, of their relationship, are negatively influenced. Presley and Beckett, the protagonists with their respective third person povs, seemed shallow and lacking in personality to me. They conveyed nothing to me and as a result their interactions left me lukewarm. The presence of an instalove then made the situation worse. Seriously, I didn't perceive growth in the relationship, no deepening, but everything happened because yes, it had to happen. The secondary characters follow suit, appearing vague and nebulous, with some fun but somewhat random interactions.
All in all, it is a cute and light romance that unfortunately failed to fully involve me.
Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
