I absolutely adore a Jill Shalvis book, it’s like a comfort hug which I have been looking for. I’m always completely pulled in and this book has been no different.

I love how Shalvis makes everything feel familiar. This is a book I have adored. Jameson and Luna are characters you can’t help but root for. Each have their own issues but feel real and relatable.

Shalvis has made me feel as though I have been watching the events of this one play out. I’m always pulled in completely and as usual I have devoured this book in just one sitting. Everything about this book has been brilliant to read and I’ve loved it.

The Bright Spot is a book with a gorgeous setting and a real mix of characters. I’ve read many books by this author and they get better and better. I have loved everything about this one and already eagerly anticipating what may be next.

I absolutely recommend this book to everyone. It’s brilliant and guaranteed to leave you smiling.

I love reading Jill Shalvis books as they honestly just feel like a warm hug and this one was just the biggest hug ever. I loved everything about this one, from the plot to the amazing characters who have formed the perfect family to Luna. ⁣
⁣
Luna was an amazing character who you cannot help but love and root for throughout this book. She's so kind-hearted, hard working and just such a lovely character who came across relatable and realistic! Jameson had the most development in this one and I loved watching his character come out of his shell and find happiness! ⁣
⁣
Jill Shalvis has become an auto buy author for me and if money wasn't an issue I would already own her entire backlog! Full of humour, romance and characters you quickly grow to love, The Bright Spot is one I will forever recommend! ⁣

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Bright Spot was an entertaining and charming read. I loved the entire cast of characters as well as the setting for this one. The setting offered lots of charming and sweet and funny moments and I really enjoyed this one in large part due to this. Luna and Jameson could not have been more different, but are thrown together when they each inherit half of the farm Luna has spent the last five years running and where she also makes her home. In addition to the chemistry between them and how to share the responsibilities, they have hanging over their heads a balloon payment due in a short amount of time and the farm itself is running in the red.

The only reason this wasn't five stars for me was that it required a bit of suspension of disbelief. That the original owner had a loan with these kinds of terms made no sense given his financial situation at the time and how cut throat a businessman he was, and then Jameson himself should have had easy access to funds for the payment or even the means himself based on his own work and lifestyle. However, beyond that aspect, I absolutely adored this story and it's probably my favorite of the series so far!

I do like a Jill Shalvis novel, as I know I am in for a romantic, easy read.
Based in Apple Ridge Farm Luna Wright is surprised when she is informed that the late owner Silas has left her fifty percent of the farm. The Farm and its employees are like her family to her as Luna was adopted at birth with no knowledge of her birth family. This makes her particularly protective of the Farm and its adorable rescued animals.
When the co-owner, Jameson, arrives to announce the news Luna is confused and worried, as she does not know what his intentions will be, especially as he reveals that the Farm is in fact struggling financially with a high chance of it having to close. Jameson feels a spark between them but Luna is a hard nut to crack as her issues with trust go way back. They decide to pull together to try to find a solution to save Apple Ridge and make it a viable business.
I loved all the characters in this book and the relationships between them all. This book is number six in the Sunrise Cove series but can be read as a standalone, the next one being available in the Summer 2024, so we won’t have to wait long to see what Jill has in store for the delightful characters.

My thanks to Net Galley and the publishers Headline for the advanced digital copy and to Julie to post my review on Boonsbookcase blog as part of the blog tour.

This is my favourite book in the Sunrise Cove series so far! Full of original and endearing characters, it’s funny and sweet whilst not glossing over difficult emotions. I loved the idea of a found family coming together to make each others’ lives a little happier and fight for what’s important to them. All the rescue farm animals, with their hilariously zany personalities, just added to the fun. This story turned my day around and left me with a big smile on my face and warm fuzzy feeling in my heart! Just wonderful!

To be honest, I am a little bit shocked that The Bright Spot is the fifth book of The Sunshine Cove. I love this series, and knew that I was in for a treat. While I am probably repeating myself as always if you haven't read the previous books you can still dive into this series as all the characters are new. Just pick it up and dive right in.

This time we get to follow Luna and Jameson and the community that is Apple Ridge Farm, both come with their fair share of baggage and the story covers how they deal with this. There is also Willow (Luna's BBF) who adds a great third party perspective to the story. I loved her and do honestly wish that she had her own story. Maybe next time. Also I cannot talk about the animals n the farm. The are all rescued and unwanted and super cute. If I could I would have adopted them all.

The Chemistry between Luna and Jameson is undeniable as as the book progresses, their connection deepens. I was rooting for them from the start but I do wish they had got more together sooner as I wanted their happily ever after! But alls well that ends well. There were a couple of moments that I felt was a little silly (like finances will not be fine if you bury your head in the sand but as this book it will all work out situation), but they didn't really affect my enjoyment of the book.

The Bright Spot was a joy to read full of banter, hilarious one moments and one liners that made me laugh out load. This is a book version of a Hallmark movie, and one I would love too see. I cannot wait to read the next book of this series!

Another really lovely read in the Sunrise Cove series. These books are all set in the same place, but are completely stand-alone so you don't need to read them in order.

This time we're in Apple Ridge Farm, where manager Luna and a group of staff help run the cafe and care for the various rescued animals, all of whom are very funny. I absolutely loved DZ (Dammit Ziggy) the cute baby goat. Luna runs the farm for grouchy owner Silas, who just visited now and again, but then he dies and Luna is left half the farm, along with a guy called Jameson, who she's never heard of, which is when she finds out exactly why she was left half the farm.

Once Jameson, a business associate and friend of Silas, gets to the farm they try to drag the farm into the black, before a large balloon payment is due and they are shut down. During this Jameson gets to know the various eccentric staff, and of course Luna, and very unexpectedly starts to feel at home there.

As usual there's lots of humour, along with a very enjoyable storyline. A Jill Shalvis book always leaves you with a warm feeling, but I think this one with such likeable and very funny characters, along with the really cute rescue animals, gives it even more of a warm feeling. Lovely book!

First of all this was not a bad book. I love Jill Shalvis' writing style so I can always count on a good read. But...
But this was just not my favorite. I just could not connect with the main character. Maybe it is just me, but I did not really love this one. 3. 5 stars for this one

I really enjoyed The Bright Spot with Luna and her love of animals. This is my first book I've read by Shalvis and it did not disappoint nor did the romance between Luna and Jameson. I loved reading the change in Jameson as he fell in love with Luna and embraced her people and the animals.

Thank you so much for the ARC.

I can always count on Jill Shalvis to write a small-town romance with a LOT of heart! The Bright Spot is her latest in her Sunrise Cove series, and focuses on how Luna and Jameson are brought together to save the Apple Ridge Farm. Luna is the glue that keeps the farm together, and stubbornly hides her vulnerable side under a practical and dependable front. Working together to save the farm make Luna and Jameson realise that they are not that different from each other.
I really loved The Bright Spot. With a wonderful cast of secondary characters and all their shenanigans, but most of all the amount of support and love that they all had for one another, this book delivers a good time. Not to mention, I love a good Shalvis hero, and Jameson deserved all the best things. I could not root for him more. Also, <3 to Willow and Shayne.
If you want a small-town romance, with plain fun and strong characters, look no further.
Can be read as a standalone.

Thank you to Headline Eternal for the ARC via Netgalley UK. All opinions are my own.

From the outline of this book I was excited about reading it but I just couldn't get into Luna's story. I don't know wither it was because of the writing style or just that it didn't grab me the way other books have done recently. I wish that it did but it didn't.

I used to read a lot of Jill Shalvis romance books but this one fell a bit flat for me. I think it's because the main characters seemed a bit one-dimensional and clichΓ© to me. I got bored of their budding romance and the dialogue. The stars of the book in my opinion are the secondary characters. I absolutely loved Willow, Shane, Chef, Stella and even Milo. Their dialogue seemed fresh, the characters quirky and funny. I also enjoyed the warmth and family/community focus of the book.

This delightful rom-com is my first experience of author Jill Shalvis, set in idyllic Sunrise Cove, Tahoe with its background of the Sierra Mountains. It focuses on community, the family you choose, the love that connects the characters, and just how far they are prepared to go to protect and support each other. What lifts this is the sure fire inclusion of the most adorable of rescue animals and the strength of the loveable offbeat and quirky supporting cast that Shalvis creates. Luna Wright is the incredibly hardworking, charismatic manager of Apple Ridge Farm and botanical gardens, for whom love has never worked out, and her adoptive parents expectation that she, like them, would join the medical profession has left her feeling like a failure.

Luna's boss, the grinch that was Silas Wittman has passed away, but his death brings shattering news when his will is read, it turns out he was her grandfather, and he has left the farm to her and Jameson, who he helped to mentor and raise as his adoptive son. Jameson is a business spreadsheet man, who clinically appraises failing businesses, dismantling them where necessary, and the farm has been a failing proposition for some time. There is no way Luna will countenance anything that threatens anyone who works on the farm, the activities and rescue animals that draw in visitors, but she cannot ignore the inescapable chemistry between her and Jameson. Jameson cannot walk away from the feelings growing between him and Luna, he is changing, becoming a part of the Farm family, but can he succeed in helping to save it from the dangers it faces?

Like me, you are likely to be captivated by Dammit Ziggy, the gorgeous baby goat that takes to Jameson immediately, Estelle, the curious Emu and the host of other rescue animals for whom the farm is home. I was charmed and entertained by the big heart of the farm community, truly a chosen family, including the likes of Chef, Milo, the social media influencer, Stella Montgomery, Luna's outrageous 74 year old grandma, and Willow Green, Luna's best friend from childhood. This is a great rom-com I can see many other readers enjoying too, it is fun, engaging, full of light and warmth, where the protagonists must face personal challenges if they are to find a future with each other. Many thanks to the publisher for an ARC.

This book loves up to its name and really is a bright spot. The farm where Luna loves and works is frenetic and animals, friends and the cutest of goats roam free and bump around making the farm just about work. Into this mess arrived Jameson who sticks out in his suit and loafers, well until they get ruined by life on the farm.
The characters are all mad, and oh so loveable. A fortune telling and interfering gram, a best friend and her on again off again relationship and a gay ex who still loves her but is in love with his boyfriend are the cast. Mix all this up, and add a past that leaves Luna unable to trust and secrets that manage to spill out and sprinkle salt in old wounds and you get a fast paced, against the clock race to save the farm and allow love to blossom.

A brilliant read. Luna and Jameson are the perfect match. Both damaged and hurt but are each others missing piece.

Some big emotions and feelings talked about and I liked the message that family is what you make of it, blood doesn’t automatically make you family. The message that you are enough was strong and that perfect is something different to everyone.

This rescue animals were just too cute and I loved that they snuggled with baby goats.
Another fantastic stand alone in this series with all the feels.

Jill Shalvis never disappoints and The Bright Spot is the perfect novel if you are in need of a pick me up! I love how she has to create her own family and of course the intriguing romantic interest and the themes of this novel will resonate with many. Love, loss, perseverance this novel has them all. Will be sharing much more in the near future.
