I've definitely heard of Fairy Tail years and years ago, but hadn't gotten around to checking it out. I was so glad to see it available on NetGalley so I could finally read it. Unfortunately, NetGalley only offered 1 of the 3 volumes, but at least it give me a taste of what the manga is like.
Overall, I enjoyed it. The artwork was a little goofy at times, but I still found it kind of charming. Wasn't the highest fan of the big chested scantily dressed females I saw, but that's kind of par-for-course in comics/graphic novels/manga. I'll definitely be seeking out more of these to read in the future. May even check out the anime.
I absolutely loved the Fairy Tail anime and im so honored to be able to read the manga. It made me appreciate how well done rhe anime was. Fairy Tail is a fantastic series and it is great for both beginner and veteran manga readers. Reading it makes you want to go out and do something productive. It's energy it's unlike any other.
This E pub only contained volume one, but it was a good excuse to finally give the series a try! I can see the comparisons to One Piece in this first volume, Fairy Tail's Natsu and Lucy have similar energies, and the art style is reminiscent of Oda's, but it was a fun time! I can see why this series caught on! A collection like this will be nice for fans who want so save some shelf space!
Thank you Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for the eARC of Fairy Tail Omnibus 1 (Vol. 1-3)! All opinions in this review are my own.
I loved the Fairy Tail series when I started reading it but for some reason stopped around Volume 15. Rereading the first three volumes in this omnibus got me right back into the series and I am so excited to pick up where I left off now. I love how each character has their own unique type of magic and the adventures that Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, and Happy find themselves in!
I've only seen this anime once and it was years ago and I never thought much of it. Until I saw this bundle and I couldn't pass it by. The show and the manga aren't a huge departure but it does bring in any nostalgia. Its a great time to go back and rediscover a characters and explore the world again.
A better way to describe this manga would be:
Lucy is trying to find the Fairy Tale guild and along the way is getting sexualized every other page and deals with a new perverted man in every chapter.

Safe to say that I was not into this. Which is unfortunate because I've heard so many great things about this series.
*Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

So, I have only watched a handful of episodes of the anime, and I didn't really get into it. (Which was sad because I have heard great things. Plus, Happy looks awesome.)
But the manga is absolutely a better hook for me. I will definitely be reading on and might even give the anime another shot.
Recommended.
Fairy Tail is a classic fantasy Manga for lovers of fun loud and over the top characters, high stakes and incredibly imaginative and unique worlds! Fairy Tail is an institution in itself gathering fans from all walks of life through its original publication, anime and spin offs. Talk to manga fans, cosplayers and anime fans and you will find friends through the common ground that is the wonderful world of Fairy Tail.
The omnibus edition is a great addition to your shelf and an easy way to enter what will be your next favourite manga series! This art style holds up well and even being very familiar with this world I was still laughing out loud.
For me personally Lucy, Natsu and Happy are like old friends and this series is a great comfort read. Expect comedy and craziness in the first 3 books in this wonderful series.
Thank you to Kandosha Comics and NetGalley for this Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.
Having watched the anime for at least the first couple of seasons, this omnibus is a delightful reminder of the first couple of episodes of the series, I loved the introduction and how the characters met. This is an easy read and I love the pages at the end that discuss the translations made from Japanese to English including the explanation of the honorifics since the majority of them do not exist in the English language.
4 out of 5 stars, I wish there had been some additional material like character art, character cards (introducing the various characters), additional mini-scenes, that sort of thing.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the free eARC, all opinions are my own.
My first experience with fairy tale and I must say it was quite a successful one!
This omnibus is a great introduction to the world of fairytale, a world where powerful wizards belonging to certain groups supposed to keep them in line, and ensure that they are using their powers for the greatest good, get into a whole lot of adventures and mischief! The cast was so interesting and their interactions so funny I Def plan on continuing the series!

This omnibus of the first three volumes is both fun and entertaining as well as humorous. The art work is not bad, but it could use a little more shading in certain parts. The storyline is original and creative. It is a nice companion to the anime. I enjoyed reading this.
I am absolutely thrilled to share my experience with the Fairy Tail series. As a long-time fan of the anime, I was eager to delve into the manga and was delighted to find that it exceeded my expectations. The Fairy Tail guild boasts an impressive and diverse collection of characters, each with their own exceptional magical abilities. Natsu and Happy make an incredible duo, alongside the delightful addition of Lucy, and their escapades are brimming with thrills and laughter. This is a story that perfectly combines enchanting magic, the power of friendship, and a whimsical world that will capture your imagination. I wholeheartedly recommend giving this series a chance, as it truly has something for everyone.
I've always LOVED the Fairy Tail anime series, and I was curious if I would like the manga as well. This manga did not disappoint. The Fairy Tail guild is filled with lovable characters that are masters at wielding their specific brand of magic. Natsu and Happy are dynamic pair. When they meet Lucy early on in this omnibus, they become an unstoppable trio of ridiculous fun and adventure. I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for an adventure with magic, friends, and some whimsical elements!
I hadn’t read these fantasy wizard manga comics before, but I had obviously been missing a treat. Thoroughly enjoyed this omnibus edition (Vol 1) of the first three stories. The story line is fun, the artwork is beautifully simple, and the manga characters are all entertaining. I especially loved the way Lucy is drawn when she is shocked about something, cracked me up every time it appeared. I will be back for more. Thank you to Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for the comic ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
My sister has always loved this series, so I was excited to finally give it a try. I loved how fun the story was and meeting the characters. I'm excited to continue on with it especially in omnibus form.
I just absolutely love and adore Fairy Tail. I´ts one of my most favourite manga series! The found family trope is always beloved, the plot is wholesome and fun. There is not much not to like about this manga.
I had never read any Fairy Tail before, but I love getting to read manga in an omnibus edition. I appreciated the guide in the front. The story was interesting, but not really my style.
I've already watched all of Fairy Tail and I'm almost done with my first read through of the series and when I tell you I was in utter shock the moment I realized I loved Fairy Tail more then other anime or manga I mean it. It so good that it just causally shoved One Piece of it number spot to become my new favorite.
I would rate this a 4.5/5⭐️.
Please note, I've already read the entire manga years ago and I watched the anime so I have a lot of insight and foreknowledge to entire plot. I will, however, try to narrow my review specifically to the content of this omnibus.
The art is well drawn and I know it gets better throughout the series. We're given an introduction to the world, the characters and a feel of how the manga will play out- both serious and comedic with a emphasis on bonds of friendship and camaraderie.
