Oh wooow! What was that???
A husband and two children missing.
A mother searching for them.
But what follows is a wilde ride I would never have expected!!
I really don't want to give away too much as not to spoil the story. But be prepared for a strong and quite unusual family!
I really enjoy every single audiobook narrated by Tamsin Kennard!
Thank you #NetGalley #Bookouture Audio for this audiobook

A real pager turner of a book that pulls you in from the beginning.

Mel goes to join her family in the Lake District, but when she arrives there to a note saying they have gone for a walk, they don't return.

Gripping with a great twist at the end.

Love You Gone by Rona Halsall is highly entertaining! I like how we start at the drama but go back in time to see Luke and Mel's relationship and how it escalated to how things are today. I found their portrayals to be realistic and accurate, given the situation. While I enjoyed part 1, I was much more engaged with part 2. It is shocking and came out of nowhere.

I deducted a star because, while I enjoyed the book, there is simply too much vigilante justice for me that I'm not comfortable with. I despise this tactic in books, no matter how much the characters "deserve" it. Had things been handled in a better manner, it would be 5 stars.

Tamsin Kennard is great as always.

Thank you to Bookouture Audio for providing me with an ALC.

Lucas Roberts hasn’t spoke to his parents in over a decade but after the loss of his beloved wife Anna who wants to move home to Snowden to be with his family because being a single dad of Molly and Callum is becoming too much. He loves his children and feels like he is failing him and dishonoring his dead wife Anna soon after arriving home the reason he left becomes obvious when his cousin Ted start in on Lucas about leaving. It was as if Ted was always jealous of Lucas because it was his parents who raised his cousin Ted after his own parents passed away soon after moving to Snowden however Lucas meets Mel A woman who seems perfect she seems to love his children and Lucas and wants nothing more than to be a part of his life it is still surprising however how fast this happens but Lucas lets it go because he loves Mel. When the reader first meets Mel it’s when she’s called the police because her husband Lucas and two children are missing they were to go on a vacation and when she arrive the next day after her family she found a note saying they went for a walk but after hours of waiting there not back. Throughout the book we learned the real story is she a grieving mother who just wants her family back and is Lucas really in peril? This book was so so so good! This is not your rinse and repeat thriller this is holy original. There’s no big face-off at the end and this is a great great read! There’s so much I want to say but don’t want to give anything away if you’re tired of reading the same all revelatory at the end thrillers then don’t read the spot because this is in the class by itself it’s so good and I absolutely love that I don’t even know if this would be called a thriller I do know it should be called an awesome book! I want to thank Bookoucher audio and Net Galley for this free arc please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I couldn't get chapter 18 to play, this might be a me problem but it happened with a few of the audiobooks lately. It is fine though. I still loved the book and didn't feel lost.
I think maybe I just don't do well with books about troubled marriages unless I hate the guy. I didn't "know" Luke well enough to hate him as I prefer.
It is a little slow at first but the ending chapters were great! I loved the narration.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so amazing! I could not wait to find out what would happen next and at first I was so convinced Luke was guilty as the book was told from Mel’s point of view at the beginning. When the book switched to Luke’s view point, I realized how wrong I initially was and loved how the story twisted. I loved that there were multiple perspectives in the book and there was the mystery and thrill of Luke and Mel’s marriage next to the twists of Luke’s family and their drug operations. This book sucked me right in and did not let go, I could not wait to find out how everything would shake out in the end and loved the ending. This was such a great thriller!

I just loved this this book.........I found "Love You Gone by Rona Halsall" Narrated by Narrated by Tamsin Kennard. Was so gripping I was totally gripped from the first few pages. There were so many twists and turns, then just when you thought you knew what was happening.......Bang!!! It changes again. This book took domestic violence within a family to a different level. It also shows you how wrong you could be about someone.

A must read and a great for holidays.

Just a Brilliant read. xx

5 star review.

This was a gripping book!
It was a very entertaining listen and was packed with twists.

I enjoyed the different perspectives of the book. I particularly enjoyed Luke’s perspective. Sometimes we wonder how someone can be so naive and accept domestic abuse from a partner, but I think this gave an accurate idea of what goes on in their heads.

The epilogue wasn’t that shocking and felt a bit rushed.
All in all; I would recommend this book to read or listen to. The narrator was great as well!

Absolutely brilliant! The plot, the characters, the pacing - spot on and totally compulsive. Rona Halsall knows how to write a thriller!

I felt so much sympathy for Mel, when she arrived at her family's holiday cottage to find them missing. Once the police are involved, Mel starts to reveal how difficult her marriage is and how badly she is treated by her husband, Luke.

And then, we start to find out what Mel is hiding and what *actually* happened... OMG! Every time I thought I knew what was happening, there was another shocker that built yet more tension.

Fasten your seat belts, you're in for quite a ride as the the twists keep coming and the plot's many layers are gradually revealed. This is a book that will stay with me for a long time.

I listened to the audiobook and the narration was excellent.

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Rona Halsall and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I'm going to preface my review by stating this is more a me and my preferences issue than a book issue. I have got to stop reading books about married couples where one of them and/or their child(ren) go missing. They sound intriguing, but I am not sure I've ever really enjoyed a single book with that premise. I typically end up being frustrated by everyone and basically not caring if the characters all die gruesome deaths. It doesn't matter who the perpetrator is- one of the spouses, the neighbor, a complete stranger, a creepy uncle- the books all tend to focus more on issues between the couple and I end up annoyed at how terrible these people are.

So, yeah. Needless to say, I didn't exactly enjoy this. There were aspects I liked, but I'd have been happier if those elements were instead thrown into more of a police procedural. Which, this book does have quite a bit of police involvement, and is from their POV at times. The later in the book, the more this happens. This is probably why I actually enjoyed the last 1/4 or so the most.

The audiobook is narrated by Tamsin Kennard. It was a decent performance- nothing to complain about. I listened to the book at 1.5 speed.

I received an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

What a great introduction to a prolific thriller writer! This novel was so well written and the audioversion was a lovely listen. Halsall added new information in little, well-placed tidbits that perfectly amped up the suspense in Love You Gone. The novel begins with Mel on her way to join her family for a vacation in a remote cabin and slowly spirals into something much more sinister. The pacing of this novel was spot-on. I will definitely be reading more of Rona Halsall's works.

Mel, at nearly forty years of age, is trying to get pregnant. So far, no success. At the age of forty, a woman's chances of conceiving are just five percent per cycle.

From the very first page of this book, I was stunned, mesmerised. Written with a ferocious passion that'll knock the wind out of you!
Wonderful and five stars from me

Mel is looking forward to a holiday with her husband and children, but when she arrives at their holiday cottage, she finds a note saying that he and their two children have gone on a hike. But they don’t return, and Mel is forced to contact the police. When they arrive, Mel is compelled to tell them that her marriage was not quite what it appeared to be. This book had me second-guessing myself, Halsall has created a compelling, if untrustworthy main character

When Mel arrives at the holiday cottage and her husband Luke and two children are nowhere, she doesn't initially panic. But when after a few hours they don't turn up, she calls the police. Where can Luke and the kids be?

This was such a twisted story. Every time I thought I knew where the story was going, another twist was thrown in. It was great to listen to on audio with the narrator really bringing the story home. This was definitely a page turner and a great thriller. I was thoroughly entertained throughout.

4.5 Stars
A riveting story that will keep you hooked until the very end.

Mel had planned to spend some quality time with her family at a holiday cottage after work. However, upon arrival, she found the place deserted, and her family had left a note saying they had gone hiking. As hours passed, Mel began to feel uneasy, and she realized something was wrong when her family didn't return. She decided to call the police for help in finding her family. However, during police questioning, Mel realized she couldn't keep silent about her marriage. What secrets will the investigation reveal, and will Mel find her family?

I was completely engrossed in the story from start to finish, devouring it in a single day. I think it's best to go in blind, it'll make the twists and turns even more surprising. The only downside? The ending felt a bit rushed, but that didn't take away from the overall experience. If you're a fan of domestic drama and mystery, then this book is a must-read.

***Thank you to NetGalley, Rona Halsall, and Bookouture Audio for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***

'Love You Gone' was so good! It would have been a 5 star read, but the very end changed how I looked at one of the characters in an unfortunate way. I was hoping for justice! Even if a character is bad, I'm not a fan of vigilantes murdering.

That said, this subverts the usual DV expectation in a way that was good to see represented in literature (until the very end, as mentioned above... pity about that reversal).

The story is told from a couple different POVs with very distinct voices and ways of thinking. They were equally engaging, even as I knew I didn't trust them from quite early on.

Fans of domestic drama, unreliable narrators, wicked women, and everyday evil stories will enjoy this!

Thanks, NetGalley and Bookouture, for the gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This domestic crime thriller is a slow burn to start out, but then Part 2 hits with a bang and it created a completely different take than where I thought this story was going. The story is told in 3 parts from different POVs. The twists hit with part 2 and keep coming till the end of the book! I really enjoyed this audiobook and recommend giving it listen! I was sucked in and finished this audiobook in one day🖤

Wow! I loved this domestic thriller. It reminds me that there’s always his story, her story, and the truth.
Mel arrives at a cabin to meet her family for a vacation. Unfortunately though, no one is there when she arrives. I can’t tell you any more than that or I’d spoil it for you, but expect some twists and turns as you delve into this family drama.

I can’t wait to read more from this author!

The narration for this audiobook was spot on. I always love a good accent when I’m enjoying an audiobook.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+⭐
Love You Gone by Rona Halsall, an audiobook narrated by Tamsin Kennard is a gripping, page-turning, breathing-deep psychological thriller with incredible twists! Once I started I knew I would not be able to pause! I needed it all! Each part of this book comes in with new perspectives and new twists and sometimes twists will have twists and will make your blood boil, grit your teeth or take a deep breath not scream! The wild journey and twists were coming so unexpectedly that I was constantly guessing - what was going on?

And the combination of Rona Halsall and Tamsin Kennard can't go wrong! They both are masters of what they are doing! Tamsin Kennard's voice is perfect for narration. It is hard to believe that there is just one narrator! She definitely is one of my favorite narrators! So all together I loved this book from the first page to the last!

When Mell arrives at the holiday cottage her family is not there. She finds the note saying they are out for a walk but before midnight Mel has a bad feeling that something has gone terribly wrong!
All she wants is her family back at all costs. She can't lose them, not now!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Rona Halsall, Tamsin Kennard, Bookouture Audio, and NetGalley for this incredibly twisty thriller!
