Gratitude can have a positive effect on a person's mental health and this book is great to help children get involved with he practice.
I love the idea of putting on your gratitude goggles and this would be a great conversation starter, both at home and in the classroom. The story is sweet and the book has some lovely illustrations.
I really like the concept this book suggests and I think this story can be a starter for so many great conversations and habits for children.
This was a nice book told from the perspective of a little girl visiting her grandmother. It talks about some of the things they do and what she likes about being with her grandmother. I think this would be a good book to help students brainstorm writing ideas when writing about memories of family members or when writing what they like about certain family members.
Thank you Netgalley, Andrea Mendoza-Vasconez, and BooksGoSocial for this copy. This book is adorable and I will definitely be using the term “gratitude goggles” as my girls get older. My 3 year old daughter liked the book but is a little young to fully understand the meaning. We talked about some ways it’s relevant to her. The pictures are gorgeous and I can’t wait to reread this as she gets older. I love the message she will receive.
Everyone needs to be thankful! Just think about how nice this world would be if we were all more thankful and appreciative of life around us! The illustrations are wonderful and relevant too.
This simple book guides us to be thankful. It is full of positivity and appreciation. I loved this book. Thank you to Wholesome children's books and net galley for allowing me to read this book.
The Gratitude Goggles is a lovely children’s book with lots of great illustrations and ideas on what you can be grateful for. I loved that it is also interactive and asks questions. I read this with my 7 year old and he enjoyed it too!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love the beautiful message about Gratitude, this is important for children to learn and parents can help by setting a wonderful example of showing Gratitude in their lives. Children watch and learn from their parents so mirror the behaviour you want your children to possess.
Author did a wonderful job with this story of Gratitude and sharing the Gratitude Goggles with others. So many things in life to be Grateful for all of Gods creations surrounding us everyday..
Artwork is very beautiful as well.
ARC Reader for NetGalley
A unique book to teach your littles about the benefits of gratitude and how it can affect your well being and mental health. Engaging prose and colorful illustrations make the point come alive.
Cute little book, I think it is best for older kids (7-8+yo) but it's a nice book. Teaches you to be grateful and I liked that. I wished that when the kids put the gray googles, the drawings should've been gray too, at least some things do you could kinda see the contrast of what the book is talking about.
A powerful message for children about looking at their life and being grateful for the the things that are in it.
A gentle reminder for young readers about gratitude and how it changes one's perspective. Adults will find this simple colorful book helpful too.
A beautiful picture book about showing gratitude in our daily lives. I loved the message, encouraging us to see what we have and notice the positive things in our life. This would be great for younger readers.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC. All thoughts are my own.
This book contains a simple, but powerful message – – to be grateful for what you have. It’s an easy way to explain to children look at the world differently-with eyes of gratitude. I think this will be great for Kindergarten second grade students. I would combine it with a craft activity or students could color their own glasses.
Thank you for the advanced copy of The Gratitude Googles.
As an adult that sometimes struggles with finding gratitude daily, I wish that this type of book existed when I was a young child! This is such a great story about finding the positives in each day and being sure to share those with people around you. This is a great book for morning meetings at school and even a great book to lead a lesson for counselors in elementary and maybe even middle school. I also think this is a great story to share with my son who is a toddler. Thank you again!
This was cute, short, and sweet but there is one thing that would make it even better. There is a part that says "Think about your arms, your legs, your eyes, and your voice ... and everything that makes you, you." Some people, including kids, don't have all their limbs or their limbs may not look or function like other people. Some people lose one or both of their eyes for various reasons, or are blind. Some people can't speak or struggle with speech. It might be good to include a section along the lines of "These are just some examples. You may not have them all, and that is okay too. There are so many more things that make you, you. You don't have to look the same, or even function the same, as anyone else. Think about the things you DO have, and the things you CAN do, whatever that looks like for you." Then continue on to "You are unique and wonderful just the way you are." That way everyone can be included and not feel alienated.
Simple, efficient and on the cute side, to say the least, this shows a young audience what it is like to live under grey clouds – or rather, with grey spectacles of our own choosing. It then contrasts that with, not a rose-tinted outlook, but a pure rainbow effect of dazzling pleasure when we realise just how much we should be grateful for. An easy way to change our mood, then, and to create a pass-it-on kind of ethos, for those glasses don't have to stay ours forever. Yes, this is more purpose and intent than it is entertainment, but it certainly looks fine enough to be grabbed for on more than one occasion. A strong four stars.
This was such a short and cute story about gratitude. I absolutely loved the illustrations. This would be a great story to read to an elementary classroom to teach them about gratitude and to be grateful for the people and things in our lives. Will definitely be purchasing to keep in my son’s personal library.
Thank you Andrea Mendoza-Vasconez for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
"The Gratitude Goggles" by Andrea Mendoza-Vasconez is a brightly illustrated and heartwarming book that encourages children to see life through a lens of gratitude.
It contrasts the gloomy view of life seen through 'grey goggles' of want and comparison with the vibrant and positive view offered by 'gratitude goggles'.
"The Gratitude Goggles" provides a useful introduction to positivity and mindfulness, teaching children to appreciate what they have and to be mindful of the good in their lives. This engaging story underscores the importance of focusing on the positives rather than negatives, making it a great tool for parents and educators alike to instil a sense of thankfulness in children's daily routines.
My thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for a review
A very colorful book about teaching gratitude and what it means to be grateful. I liked the illustrations and the text is simple for kids to understand. This would be a good book for teachers to use when teaching about gratitudes.

A very nice reminder for kids to appreciate what they do have and not what they don't have. A positive happy book. Very cute!
