This book had everything I could want in a book. From references to other books I love and films I love. The enemy to lovers trope. Being self secluded to get a second chance at life and realising what you want. It was just perfect. Watching the characters grow really pulled at my heart and threw some curve balls I didn't expect, which had me sobbing!
Very well written highly recommend
I really enjoyed this! I thought the plot was good, and I liked the characters. The FMC was quirky but without being cringy and I liked the love interest and their dynamic together. Most of the background characters felt really full and warm. I had fun reading this, it was surprisingly a fun, smooth ride and i read it very quickly. A quick note to say the one thing I really didn't like which was the numerous romance book name dropping.
An easy read for when you want an escape from reality. This was light-hearted, fun & heartwarming with just enough detail to make you really care about the characters without overdoing it. The storyline was a different, interesting idea & I found myself wanting to know more after the ending!
A cute rom-com to bring a bit of joy in the small things to your life.
I found this well written and easy reading. We follow Delphie as she tries to track down a man in order to get him to kiss her and bring her back to life.
It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but in a good way - I thought it would be based in the ~afterlife~ but Delphie makes a deal with Merritt, her afterlife therapist, to go back to Earth for ten days and she will keep living if she gets the man to kiss her willingly.
Delphie dives through all the typical romance novel tropes and makes meaningful connections on the way. The side-plot really saved this novel as Delphie injects much needed joie de vivre into her humdrum life. All the characters are richly rounded making you really feel part of her world.
Would recommend but nothing special, so three stars out of five.
A great story full of emotion from laughter to tears. There are some great twists in this which keep you guessing whether you will get the ending you were expecting or not.
Thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for the ARC in exchange of an honest review,
I LOVED this book - literally read it in one sitting and stayed way up past my bedtime to finish it! It was absolutely the perfect romcom read and one to get me out of a slump! I loved the characters, their flaws and the development. I loved the way Greenwood touched on the different romance tropes throughout the book and how the end all came together. My only slight gripe was some of the americanisms in the book - which for someone who lives in London, and the book was set in London, it made me think the author was American (she's not!). However it was still an excellent book.
Delphi dies, and meets the love of her life in Evermore. Or does she?
This book was a lovely addictive romcom. I loved it.
A small review as I don't want to spoil it
Thank you NetGalley and Kirsty for the Advanced copy.
An odd start, where I definitely needed to suspend all belief, rolled into a charming rollercoaster of a story. The afterlife and death kick the book off, and there are then hints as the book progresses however this flows in and out of the plot seamlessly. Two slight bizarre characters in Cooper and Delphie who are clumsy and isolated and the warmth that they end up giving off is lovely. A misdirection love interest, a twist and a half at the end and then another half again makes this an interesting, cute and absolutely worth reading book.
I don’t usually go for books that have even the hint of fantasy in them, and yet I absolutely loved this book, I read it in just a weekend because I couldn’t put it down!
Delphie is such a wonderful character- so damaged, trying so hard to keep everyone at arms length and yet so lovely, and likeable and warm that as soon as she sets upon her challenge she can’t stop making friends! I loved reading about the community of her road and all the people within it, from the pharmacy to Mr Yoon, to Aled. I thought the twist in Merrit was very clever and made me feel on edge right to the end of the book in terms of not being able to call what the outcome would be.
Cooper is dreamy, kind, funny, almost as damaged as Delphie and together, they are just fabulous. I really, really enjoyed this book, thank you.
Great premise, brilliantly executed. Enjoyed Delphie's story and found the last 20% unputdownable! Loved the resolution but also how some of Delphie's issues weren't given quick (read unrealistic) fixes. Some relationships can't be mended but that's okay and it's great to see this reflected in a romcom.
I so loved how perfectly imperfect they were. Heroine was very relatable to me. I think the author did a wonderful job portraying their struggles. I loved it.
A well executed romcom that will have you feeling all sorts of feels throughout the story.
I absolutely loved reading it even though it was a bit predictable. The characters show growth through the story and are pretty easy to like. It's a perfect summer time romcom that will have you swooning, awwww-ing, and maybe even crying!
The story begins when Delphie dies after choking on a burger (yes, craaaazy). She meets a handsome man in heaven for a brief moment when the heaven management realizes that the guy wasn't meant to die. He returns to earth leaving Delphie to stay love-less for the rest of her afterlife.
However, Delphie is offered a deal to go back to earth and find the mystery man and kiss him! Delphie has lived her life in shadows and hiding her true self. Her miraculous return to earth changes her perspective leading to great character development. BUT, she has limited time and has to get a man to fall in love with her before she is called to the afterlife forever!
Do read for a fun experience!

I went into this book completely blind I was just drawn to the title and I’m so thrilled I got the chance to do this arc as I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
The premise was great with a refreshing twist as we have the countdown of Delphine being given 10 days to get a guy to kiss her but also the tension that if she doesn’t get this to happen it’s literally a matter of life and death!
I really enjoyed watching Delphine along the way discovering so much about her self and about how she sees life and wants to live it going forward.
I don’t want to say too much more or give away the tropes as the romance aspect was so well done and going in not knowing anything I feel is best. I will just say the tension was fab!
I loved all the little mentions of other romance authors and popular romance tropes dotted through the books too.
Definitely want to read more from this author now as this was my first by her.

I can’t recommend this book enough. Beautifully funny, painfully relatable, and just a general ‘feel good’ read! Don’t hesitate, just read it!
What a total delight. I can say having read a lot of romantic fiction that this is such a love letter to the genre and absolutely fab.
Total laugh out loud moments, with a sprinkling of pop culture (“you’re a virgin who can’t drive” - classic!), enough tropes to sink a ship and a good dash of spice too!
It’s a love story that doesn’t end the way it begins, with an epic twist at the end!
I always know I’m going to love a book if I’m already recommending to people halfway through!
This was the first Kirsty Greenwood novel I have read, and it will not be the last. This book is my favourite read of 2024 so far.
Ash Poston meets Emily Henry, The Love of my Afterlife is an adorable romance featuring many beloved tropes, written in a truly engaging and beautiful manner. I fell in love with the characters and their story. I would highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this, despite a few clunky passages. It's a fun rom com, though I felt the end resolution was perhaps a bit convenient for me. Overall very enjoyable!
Loved the premise of this book, and it was a joyous read, No spoilers in saying there is a happy ending but I really enjoyed the twist. At times Delphie felt a bit too naive but was all the more interesting and likeable for it. I loved all of the characters, particularly Aled and Frida, and obviously Cooper. The time limit of 10 days set the really well. I finished this so quickly I wanted to jump back in and read it again, but I’ll save that for later.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The Love of My Afterlife is DEAD brilliant! Hilarious, cute, sexy, deep and life-affirming, it will make you see the world through glad to be alive eyes.
I don't think I have laughed so much at a book in such a long time. THE LOVE OF MY AFTERLIFE was brilliantly hilarious but also super swoonworthy. I absolutely adored Delphie; she was so quirky and I just felt a connection with her. This is a definite must-read and going to be one of my favourite books of 2024.
