The Love of My Afterlife follows Delphie who finds herself in the afterlife, where she discovers the love of her life, only to find him being returned to the land of the living. Delphie returns herself with the task of tracking him down and getting him to kiss her within ten days so she can stay alive!

The characters in the book are well-developed and endearing. The plot is engaging and seamlessly blends romance, humour, and the supernatural, making it a perfect choice for anyone looking for a light-hearted and entertaining read.
This was a fun and heartwarming novel.

Such a fun premise, one that I’ve not read before but could liken to The Good Place (tv show). It was hilarious in parts, easy reading, well rounded characters and many a story line troupe was mentioned/explored!
I did guess a main part but that didn’t spoil it, all in all I would highly recommend!
Thank you netgalley.

I really enjoyed this book I wasnt expecting to love the characters as much as I do. I don’t tend to read romance books but I really enjoyed this, I love the concept and the constant searching for love as well as the character dynamics. This book was so well written it felt like I was watching a rom com!

Thank you netgally for giving me this book to read :)

I absolutely blumming loved this book! Fun, fresh, funny and with a delightfully quirky heroine, Delphie……….. I could have devoured this in one sitting, but forced myself to slow down as I didn’t want it to end. The afterlife romcom to end all afterlife romcoms! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

‘The Love of my Afterlife’ by Kirsty Greenwood is a hilarious, heartwarming, trope-filled romance that puts a unique spin on happily ever after. The book begins with the unceremonious death of Delphie, who chokes on a microwavable burger alone in her flat after a day at work that was a carbon copy of all of her days prior. She ends up in Evermore where she meets Merritt, her perky afterlife therapist. After a pretty depressing flashback across her uneventful life, she meets the man of her dreams briefly before he is yanked back to the land of the living. Romance lover Merritt decides to send Delphie back to Earth with the promise that if she can track down the guy and get him to kiss her within ten days, she can stay alive!

I don’t want to spoil what comes next, so I will keep this review short and just tell you a couple of things I loved about this novel:
- Delphie is a quirky lead character, and I loved watching her release her inhibitions and interact with more people
- Merritt is melodramatic and hilarious and I adored her
- The strong theme of this novel is that even if a handful of people are trash (childhood bullies, narcissistic mother), most people are good and worth getting to know - and I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment

With sweetness, spice, plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and loveable characters galore, this was a five star read for me. I highly recommend it!

Thank you to Random House UK, Cornerstone and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance Digital Review Copy of this fabulous book. All opinions are my own.

"Delphie has entered the afterlife wearing the sort of pyjamas you don’t want anyone to see..."

what an interesting story to read, and I loved every minute of it! definitely a concept that I haven't read before, but it did slightly remind me of a TV show I absolutely adored in the 2010s!

reading about her journey in the afterlife was so fun, and really interesting, but also uplifting, to think that life does go on even when you die choking on a hamburger! I loved that she got a second chance at love, something some of us can dream of, but it was really sweet to read!

some really great tropes in this story too, but my all time fave definitely being the found family trope! that trope will always get my heartstrings and heal something in me!

thank you so much Netgalley and Kirsty Greenwood for this arc!

Absolutely loved this. Literally made me LOL at times and the repartee between Cooper and Delphie I loved. Definitely going to read more from Kirsty Greenwood. Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

📖 Review: This book was the true definition of a romcom! 💕

A heartwarming story centred around finding the full life you could have if you only picked up the courage to step out of your comfort zone 🫶🏻 as well as making the most of your life, even if your eyes are closed to what’s right in front of you.

Delphie is an amazing fmc. She seeks out a man she believes to be her true love after meeting him during a brief stint in the afterlife. He is also her only chance at escaping her previous fate ☁️.

Along the way, Delphie transforms from an isolated individual to someone who, when given a second chance at life, builds meaningful relationships, makes time for what she enjoys, takes risks and finds love. By the end of the book, all of the threads of her life both before and after death become weaved together in such a beautiful way 🤍

I LOVED the quirkiness of the characters!!💞

This book had me laughing aloud at parts whilst swallowing back the lump in my throat at other times. There were twists and turns, some I didn’t see coming and others I did, but either way they were perfect for the development of the story and the ending was everything I would have wanted!

A truly heartwarming and heartbreaking book of life, love, death and the afterlife! 🌈❤️‍🩹 Oh, and you’ll never look at a microwaveable burger the same way again! 🍔🧡

An intriguing and gripping story, I loved the characters and can't wait to read more by this author.

I really, really enjoyed this one. It throws you straight into the thick of things from the first page, with Delphie dying after choking on a microwavable burger. A visit to the afterlife and a romance obsessed front desk employee results in Delphie having a second chance at finding love and getting to live again. She'll quickly learn that maybe she had never really lived at all.
Incredibly life-affirming and restorative, this romcom had three of my favourite tropes - an oblivious heroine, found family and grumpy curmudgeon with a heart of gold. DELICIOUS!

I would like to firstly thank Random House UK , Cornerstone, Netgalley and Kirsty Greenwood for providing me with an advanced copy of ' the love of my afterlife '

If she wasn’t dead already, Delphie would be dying of embarrassment. Not only did she just die by choking on a microwaveable burger, but now she’s standing in her ‘shine like a star’ nightie in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen. And he’s smiling at her.

Due to be published in June , the synopsis of this new novel grabbed my attention straightaway . The book fast became my favourite read of the year so far and I was hooked from the first page until the last .

I smiled , laughed and relished in Delphine's mishaps and loved how the book brought together the importance of love , friendship and living your life to the fullest cherishing every moment.
Whilst I don't want to delve too much Into the storyline as it's definitely a book that should be read firsthand - I can definitely say that if you are looking for a light-hearted , contemporary and quirky read that is full of heart then this is the book for you . Who doesn't enjoy a beautifully written feel good romance.

‘The end of her life was just the beginning.’

The unique plot gathered my attention. I couldn’t stop reading this for 3 days, it was that good. Ended up bursting out laughing in quite a few places.

Delphie’s character building was great, from being independent to finding new family. I loved seeing her journey to find Jonah.

I definitely want to read some more of Kirsty Greenwood’s books now.

Thank you Netgalley, Kirsty Greenwood and the publisher for the arc!

Like with all Kirsty Greenwood's books, this was a quirky read that took us to her imagined afterlife.

I liked Delphie as a main character, to being with a felt a bit sorry for her with the lack of life she'd led and then with the unfortunate burger incident, but who knew that would be her turning point.

The course of true love never does run smooth especially when you're on a deadline and things aren't going quite to plan.

This was a nice break from the thrillers I have been reading.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review, this is my honest opinion.

This is the first Kirsty Greenwood novel I have read, and I don't think it will be the last. As Delph says in the book it is a "classic romance trope". It has enemies to lovers main plot but also features a love triangle, with a secret twist blended in at the end.
Delph's personal growth was lovely to see unfold and most of the characters were likeable.
I would rate the book 4.5 stars. I think I may even have to buy a physical copy to see what exactly those emojis between Delph and Cooper were, as the arc sadly had them blanked out.

Thank you Netgalley, Kirsty and her publishing team for the chance to read this. Will be recommeding for friends once it is released.

What a sublime five-star read. This is just simply divine, if you have ever felt lonely, or just like you don’t fit in, then pick this story up, even if you haven’t ever had a moment like that then still pick this story up, as you may learn something. Honestly this is such a heartwarming and funny story, Delphie is such a well thought and deep character, there is just something about her that you will never forget. Would you chase one of your soul mates for the chance at another shot at life? I think I would be like Delphie, and just take it in my stride, let life sweep me up and enjoy every moment we get. I loved Mr Yoon, there was just something special about that grumpy man, as we can all be grumpy especially when we aren’t being understood. This is such a fantastic story that everyone needs to pick it up, there was just something about it, I am so excited to see what else this author has produced as they are new to me, and I need more Kirsty Greenwood in my life, as they have a way with words that sucks you into the story.

Delphie and Cooper are romcom legends! That spark, that banter, that romance that is so hard to define or get right - is in abundance here.

You could have placed them in any setting and the readers would have loved them but in this unique premise they shine brighter than the stars.

Absolutely adored this book and all the twists in the narrative. I've never laughed so much or wanted a couple to get together so much in ages.

"The Love of My Afterlife" by Kirsty Greenwood is a riotously funny rom-com that had me laughing out loud from start to finish.
Delphie's unconventional journey in the afterlife, following a tragic microwave burger incident, is both absurdly entertaining and unexpectedly heartwarming. The plot, fueled by Delphie's quest to find Jonah, the soulmate she meets in the afterlife, is refreshingly unpredictable.

Greenwood's writing is sharp and witty, effortlessly weaving humour into every page.
Delphie, with her only-been-kissed-once, virgin status and lingering childhood traumas, is a relatable yet endearing protagonist.
The absurdity of Evermore coupled with the quirky inhabitants of Westbourne Hyde Road, including Delphie's surly neighbour, Cooper, the cantankerous Mrs Ernestine, Delphie's fashion-crazy pharmacy boss, Leanne and her mum, Jan, and the wonderful old Mr Yoon, add a delightful layer of charm to the story.

What sets this rom-com apart is its ability to balance humour with genuine emotional moments. As Delphie rediscovers the joys of life while searching for Jonah, the narrative took unexpected turns, keeping me engaged and invested in her character development. The exploration of relationships and personal growth is seamlessly integrated into the comedic tapestry.

Kirsty Greenwood's imaginative storytelling and clever dialogue make this a standout rom-com. It defies predictability, making it a delightful and thoroughly enjoyable read.
I look forward to diving into more of Greenwood's books in the future, anticipating the same level of humour, heart, and unpredictability that made "The Love of My Afterlife" a 5-star gem.

Thanks so much to Kirsty Greenwood, Random House UK, Cornerstone and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Delphi’e has died and finds herself in the lobby of the afterlife at Evermore with her afterlife therapist Merritt. Delphie doesn’t want to be dead though and she signs a contract with Delphie to return to living on the condition she is kissed by Jonah who she had a brief interaction with in the afterlife lobby, an interaction which made her feel he was her soulmate. Jonah however was there by mistake and has returned to earth. To stay alive Jonah has to kiss her, which Delphie thinks will be easy, once she finds him that is.
What follows is a story with laughter, romance but also moments of sadness. Delphie is a loner and doesn’t really interact with the people she works with or go out socially, the only person she sees regularly is Mr Yoon, her elderly neighbour, who she makes breakfast for.
Things have to change though to enable Delphie to find Jonah as she realises she wants to live and enjoy life and as she is looking for Jonah she makes new friends, gets to know the people around her better as well as bumping into bullies from school and getting the chance to lay some ghosts to rest. She also gets to know her neighbour Cooper better, in fact much better.
I laughed out loud at parts of this book and was routing for Delphie to get her happy ending as she deserved a new life with new friends and the end to her loneliness but does she get it, I will leave it to you to find out.
I devoured this book in 2 days, reading it every spare moment I had, easily worth 5 stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Randomhouse UK for allowing me a preview of this book, the opinions however are all my own.

Oh my goodness… The romance I didn’t know I needed!! Think How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days but this time we’re trying to keep him! I can’t believe how much I adored this book. I was rooting for Delphie the entire way through. As someone who suffered from bullying as a child and who actively withdraws from others I instantly clicked with our main character. I adore her sweet soul of a neighbour Mr Yoon , I adore the wonderful friends she gains along the way & I’m head over heels in love with the romance in this one. When death is on the cards do you choose love, or life? I can’t say much as I don’t want to give away the plot but when I tell you this book is going to be HUGE on bookstagram, booktok & the rest I promise you I’m not even close to exaggerating! Kirsty did an incredible job of building the most wonderful assortment of characters from all tropes of life. You can’t help but to smile as they develop relationships , friendships & follow their hearts. I’m so so grateful to NetGalley for recommending this one , it’s hands down my absolute favourite romance and that’s coming from a Thriller/ Horror lover! I laughed, I cried & I smiled till my cheeks hurt. I can’t wait for you all to get your hands on this one and I can’t wait to buy it upon release because LOOK AT THAT COVER 😍😍 The easiest 5 stars I’ve given to a book in a long time!

Oh my goodness, where do I start??? Delphi at first was irritating, I couldn’t understand why someone would live the way she was but once you get to know her you love her. All the characters in this book were so brilliantly written. I think this could be my favourite book of the year
