This book is just gorgeous. Funny, sweet and life affirming, I devoured it over a weekend and forgot the world existed.
A recently deceased woman meets “the one” in the afterlife waiting room, scoring a second chance at life (and love!) if she can find him on Earth before ten days are up….
Before I start on the review, I'd like to thank @kirsty_greenwood and @netgalley for the e-ARC. This book was absolutely gorgeous, so seriously thank you!
I really don't want to say too much on this one lest I spoil the surprises; I think this book is better read as a mystery. What I will say though is that the love interest in this story is e v e r y t h i n g, and really helps Delphie to open up and become the person she was destined to be.
This book gave me all the feelz and even made me shed a few tears! I will definitely be reading more books from this author. If you haven't read this one then please give it a go, you won't regret it :3
Another fantastic book by Kirsty. I loved this book so much, Delphie was such a brilliant character. I laughed and cried reading the book.
Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the eARC.
This was a brilliant original & ridiculously funny book.
I loved the characters and found them so relatable. There is a lot of emotion in this book & it's a really great reminder that life is short & we should all take more time to appreciate what is important in life.
It was so original I loved it. It's super funny, there are great characters, so much fun but also so much feelings. It was amazingly written and I would love to read another book of this author.
I loved this book!! Lone wolf Delphie finds herself in Evermore after tragically choking on a microwave burger in her flat!! After seeing her pitiful existence flash before her eyes she is given a chance at life again but on one condition - she has to find her soulmate and kiss him! But as the saying goes the path to true love never runs smooth - over the next few days in order to get her life back Delphie learns a lot about herself, her past and her future. This story is funny, emotional in places and one of the best I've read this year in terms of rom-com/ chick lit (both my favourite genres and will always be the case). I didn't want this book to end! I say it a lot but I think this would make a great film adaptation / mini series.
I enjoyed the concept of this book, and I think it’s a great reminder to live life. The character development was good and it was good at encouraging us to realise the good things and people we have in our lives.
Loved every page.
This book was funny, emotional & really makes you think about what's important in life.
The charactors were so relatable & made the booked a pleasure to read.
Would 100% recommend.
The quality of writing within this book was amazing! For a lot of this book I was laughing out loud, which is always fantastic when a book gets you to do that.
It was so heartwarming, and I loved it!
This book filled me with warmth the entire length of it. I have actually now read it twice. Once as an ARC and then for a book club. Kirsty never fails to write a book with gorgeous highs and lows. Her characters are well thought out and relatable.
This was fun! I was rooting for Delphie, she reminded me a bit of Bridget Jones.
I feel like it did drag a bit in places but I still had a good time. I saw the twist coming a little bit before it was revealed but I think it was well done with subtle clues throughout.
Witty and warm-hearted romantic fantasy about a woman, Delphie, who meets the love of her life in the ante-room before entering the afterlife. Unfortunately for her, his is a near death experience only and he has to leave. Delphie is then given a 10 day opportunity to win his heart in real life. This is a quest storyline, with plenty of mystery and romance, which sees Delphie being assisted in her task by her neighbour, Cooper. A lot of fun to read but lacking in depth.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy.
This was an arc read, and I just do not know why I putting it off for so long to read it.
Yes, it has a magical moment, yes and our heroine is dead.
Yup, she is a gonner, but is she really?!
This book just brings me back to 2000 romance novels. I love the enemies to lovers kind of trope. Yes, this one is with a twist.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I really needed a break from sports romance, small town, single dad romance. I don't know how many I read in last few months...and this book was a bit of a freash air.
But... I how it would be funnier. It was a looney, but not really Laught at laoud kind of book.
4 stars for me!
Thank you for my earc of this book. I loved the premise of this and thought it was executed well! The characters were lovely and I rooted for Delphie. I’d recommend this to fans of romance with a twist, like The Dead Romantics!
This was a simple, fun, easy and quick read. The perfect type of book for your holiday, beach, pool kind of read. This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Delphie doesn’t realise how lonely her life is, she has no close family or friends and definitely no romance, all she really has is her elderly neighbour who she’s taken it upon herself to look after. One night changes everything when she chokes on a microwave burger and dies, suddenly she’s in the afterlife with her eccentric ‘afterlife therapist’ and meeting her soulmate. When he’s sent back after a mix up, she’s given 10 days to find him and get him to kiss her.. if she succeeds she can stay, if she doesn’t she’s dead for good.
I really enjoyed this one, I loved seeing Delphie’s life expand and grow to more than just her work and the four walls of her flat. I did know exactly what was going to happen very early on but I liked it nonetheless.
My absolute favourite part of the book were all of the side characters, they really made the story for me. They were funny and sweet, and so kind to Delphie when she didn’t always deserve it.
I would definitely read another book by this author!

A clever concept and cleverly written. It's an easy and fun read, perfect for a holiday, and most definitely a feel good book.
If you want something lighthearted to enjoy, do read this.
Im not normally a fan of magical realism, but I thought the premise of this one sounded great, and it blooming well was.
Delphie isn't really living, she's hiding from the world, being mean to people and has erected walls around herself, and she's grumpy - my favourite sort of character - but when she chokes and goes to the Afterlife, she meets Jonah and gets the chance to start over, with caveats.
I loved this one, the writing was brilliant and I was routing for Delphie to make it. The twists and turns the author threw in and the lovely set of side characters made for a fun read.
The community aspect was brilliant and the romance tropes were just great to read.
Highly recommend this one.
This was such a delightful story, that delivered cute fairytale vibes and made me feel all warm inside. The chemistry in this book was phenomenal and there was so much emotion carried throughout the book.
This is the perfect book to read this summer. I really enjoyed reading this and I loved following Delphie’s journey watching her self-growth flourish.
A recently deceased woman meets the one in the afterlife waiting room... yessssssss The Good Place sign me up!!!
This is such a fun and unique spin on the cosy rom com. It reminds me a bit of the Dead Romantics. A big compliment!
