Good start. Plenty of scene and character setting. I feel that the level of detail is pitched right for me, someone with no survival experience and doesn’t know that area. I can picture the scene, even feeling the cold reading it, but not given so much detail that I am overwhelmed.
The jeopardy of the situation as well as the burgeoning respect to attraction is all well laid out although I am not sure I am with them on their physical inclinations, but I truly believe I am the issue, not them, in this case. However, when the jeopardy was over I still wasn’t quite with the romance. A couple of the plot hitches with secondary characters towards the end, didn’t quite work for me. Stronger on the blend plot but a bit less on romance.

Vancouver based gallery owner Allison is flying to met a promising new artist. Tour guide Mike flying home after the tourist season.
Due to an unforeseen storm their small plane crashes into a mountain, and they're the only survivors. Despite being from 2 very different worlds they'll have to learn to get along in order to survive.
This is a very slow burn romance as obviously their priority is to survive the Yukon wilderness, but also because they initially don't get along due in part Mike being quick to judge Allison.
This was a decent novel with plenty of action and a sweet romance.
This survivor tale kept me on the edge of my seat. A small plane crashes in the Canadian Yukon wilderness during a storm with two survivors. Allison Leveque is an art gallery owner in Vancouver. She had taken the flight to see and possibly promote a First People artist. Mike (Michelle), is a guide who takes tours into the wilderness. She has survivor skills but has been injured in the crash. Knowing the plane is not likely to be found the only chance of survival is to walk out of the mountains. Of course they are fortunate to have gear like a tent, sleeping bag, fishing pole, gun etc.
Both characters are interesting. I really like that Allison is calm and not a whiny, take care of me, type of person. She listens, learns and wants to survive. She is doing things she wouldn’t choose to do otherwise. Mike is gruff, skilled and pragmatic. The descriptions of the cold landscape made me need a blanket to huddle under while reading. Racism is brought a bit into the story as Mike is of mixed race from the First Nations. The romance is slow burn as survival is the focus but feelings are discussed even before actions can be taken. And I especially like the ending that wraps everything up nicely. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Allison is traveling to meet a promising artist and meets Mike aka Michelle who is returning home for some much needed res after tourist season . When the pilot realizes a storm is coming and tries to avoid it it crashes into the Yukon wilderness where everyone but Allison and Mike dies they realize that help may not be coming and they going have to fend for themselves but Allison doesn’t know what to do but Mike has some experience while trying to survive they grow closer but romance is far behind because first they have to survive if anything can happen between them. I love how the author describes how hard it’s is to survive this was a good read even though it’s was confusing with jumping from different pov that had me out of story for a bit.
I was so excited for this book, it checked so many boxes for me, and I’m really bummed that it just didn’t work for me. I’m from western Canada and adore visiting the Yukon, and survival romances are basically my guilty pleasure with reading.
My biggest issue was unfortunately that I just did not like Allison, one of the main characters. I was trying to be open minded when she was first introduced but she just came off very uptight and judgmental to me and I couldn’t get over that opinion of her.
The way the POV switched, and details like Fahrenheit being used instead of Celsius when Canada only uses Celsius, took me out of the story and I just got caught up on details like that which made me not get into the story the way I wanted to.
Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of this book! I voluntarily read this book, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lost in the Wild was an engrossing tale of survival between Allison, a Vancouver gallery owner, and Mike, a Yukon Outdoors tour guide. The plane that there are on is on its way to Dawson City in weather that turns worse with each mile they fly. Hale, lightning, and low clouds precede a mechanical issue that results in a crash landing, well off course of the original flight plan. After another passenger is killed upon the crash landing and the pilot dies a couple of days later, Allison and Mike are forced to survive on their own. Their goal is to hike through the mountainous environment until they reach a major highway. The days will be long, the terrain will be challenging, and the weather may impede their progress, but it is their only chance of survival.
The story of survival kept me engaged in the book and slow burn romance developed organically over the days Allison and Mike spent together. 4 stars

What a thrill ride! Kadyan's latest work was a engrossing survival tale between two very different women. I love a city slicker/ outdoorsy slow burn romance. The overall story details truly served the plot and brought everything to a satisfying resolution. Highly recommend.
Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley for providing an eARC for a honest review.
A story of survival in the frozen Yukon where Allison and Mike have gone down during an unexpected storm.
They’re cold, there’s little food and the other people on the plane have died.
Allison a city girl who owns an art gallery has a lot to learn.
As they hunt and fish for food while making their way for help they rely on each other more and more and begin to see each other differently. Being cold, hungry and scared is no place to start a romance so they’ll have to wait to see if they can find help and then are they really want each other.
Great story.

I really enjoyed this book. I love books about people surviving against the odds and this book fit the bill.
The main characters are Allison and Mike. Allison's assistant booked a seat on a plane to go visit a new artist to possible show in her gallery. What neither the assistant nor Allison knew, was this is a small 6 seater airplane that looks like it has seen better days. Mike is a tour guide on the plane who has finished her season and going home.
What no one knows is there is a storm that the pilot tries to avoid that ends them crashing into the Yukon wilderness. Mike (short for Michelle) has experience, but Allison has none. After a few days and no rescue, they know they will have to trek out to get help. What they don't realize is, the hard part hasn't even started.
I would recommend this book.

This story is basically correct, not perfect, but in a novel of normal length one should not expect much more. It is not an adventure with too many incidents, although it has several and they are quite well described. Perhaps the acclimatization of the protagonist who comes from the urban environment is too fast and that is funny, since she seems to be in better conditions to face the challenge than the other protagonist, who is an expert guide accustomed to the harshness of the Arctic climate.
Some really dramatic aspects have been overlooked too lightly, I understand that in certain conditions it is necessary to prioritize, but perhaps it has been too coldly, not pun intended.
And then there is the fact that the personal relationship has escalated too quickly, it is clear that when human warmth is needed, close contact breeds affection.
A fantastic survival story with two likeable leads. Some things were a little too convenient, tent, gun, knife, and food, but didn't detract from a nail-biting story.
The story is told in the third person and from both perspectives, something I normally love. However, the head hopping (being thrust from one character's thoughts to the others with no clear break) was jarring.
My quibbles are minor and I'm sure they won't bother most people.
Overall, this is a great story that I have no problem recommending.

Allison, a Vancouver gallery owner, boards a small plane bound for Dawson City to meet a promising young First Peoples artist. Tour guide Mike is returning home to enjoy a well-deserved rest after tourist season. She’s skeptical of the sophisticated city slicker who sits next to her on the flight. The woman looks like she hasn’t camped a day in her life.
Neither the pilot nor the weather forecasters foresee the monstrous storm that forces their plane to crash-land somewhere in the Yukon wilderness, far from any town or road. As the only survivors, Allison and Mike must help each other and overcome their prejudices to survive and get home safely.
This was a fun sapphic wilderness romance. I loved Allison's fortitude, and the banter between the two was a lot of fun. I especially liked the ending and how the author wrapped up the final conflict.
However, there are too many inconsistencies for me. Temperatures in Fahrenheit in Canada, measures in cm and inches at different points. Pick Canadian or American measurements and stick to one or the other. The constant POV switching was confusing and distracting. These things brought me out of the story multiple times.

This book was excellent!! So realistic and captured my attention from the very beginning!
The settings and descriptions were perfectly described.
Gripping survival story
This was a gripping survival story. Two women survive a plane crash in Yukon, CA, and have to walk out to civilization. The setting, the landscape and its challenges were really well told and realistic. I loved the vibe of city slicker vs. country girl and I loved that „Mike“ is First People - something rarely found even today in romances.
The struggle of both women to stay alive is well-told and not sugarcoated. Although there is an attraction between Allison and Mike the author keeps it realistic and has in mind that those two are utterly exhausted. Kudos for keeping it slow-burn.
Not only the description of the setting is beautiful but I also loved the descriptions of native art!
So if you like a gritty survival story set in arctic surroundings this is a great and recommended read.
PS.: I read Kadyan‘s story „Secrets of Willowra“ some time ago. It is set in Australia and another great read.

This book follows Allison, an art gallery owner, as she flies out to Yukon to meet with a potential artist. On the way there, her plane crashes with a couple of other people, including Mike.
She and Mike face many adversities in the wilderness - it was crazy! This is a slow-burn romance, which is my favorite type.🔥🔥
The book started out pretty strong, but once we were introduced to other characters, it felt confusing to me. I had a hard time keeping up with the POV switching so fast in the middle of the page, with no explanation. Sometimes it felt like one sentence was one character, then the next was another, and that’s just not my favorite preference when reading a book. I had to pause and try to figure out when we jumped POV.
Overall, I rated it 2 stars, but that is purely based on my book preferences. I do think the author told a good and engaging story.
