I'm not really a fan of cooking manga, but Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! seemed interesting since it combines the food with monsters and a fantasy setting. It's also shojo, so points for that too. Our main character is Melphiera Marchalrayd, who loves cooking and especially cooking monster meat that no one else basically eats. Because of this, people are afraid of her. There's this duke too, who slays monster and he also is feared. “Blood-Mad Duke” of Galbraith saves Melphiera and they get to know one another only to notice they are alike. This first parts is quite basic and already the love blooms, which always bothers me. I'm not sure where this series is going though, and whether this is just about cooking. The first part is more about the characters getting to know one another, which is a good call surely.

The art is nice and the characters are lively and with facial expressions. In a sense this your basic shojo, but with an interesting twist with the monsters and all. A light series, but it has its moments.

Absolutely loved this book! ‘Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!’ is a cute fantasy romance about Melphiera Marchalrayd, a quirky lady who is known by the citizens as the ‘Voracious Villainess for her odd food preference of eating monster meat. She meets the ‘Blood Mad Duke’ Aristide Rogier du Galbraith who is intrigued by her cooking methods.

The first novel serves as a great introduction to the story and gives a small amount of backstory for our main pair, I really look forward to reading more about these characters as they get to know each other and hopefully will lean towards a bit of an adventure! The art for the manga is absolutely gorgeous and the magic system explained so far is really interesting, I really look forward to reading more.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kondansha Comics for providing me with an eARC in return for an honest review.

How sweet! Volume 1 of Pass the Monster Meat, Milday is half cozy fantasy cooking story, half romcom, all around good time. If you like reading about fantasy food and two characters who are perfect for one another realizing that they’re perfect for one another, this is for you. Also, some solid laughs, particularly at how oblivious they are.

Melphiera Marchalrayd, a relatively low ranked noble, has gained a reputation for her interests in preparing, cooking and eating monsters. When she meets Aristide, warrior, high ranking duke, infamous lover of violence, she also meets the first person to genuinely understand her interest.

(Aristide, a slight tsundere, trips head first into feelings after running into a girl so weird and unafraid of him.)

Will these two nerds (affectionate) get married? Does Melphiera have deeper motivations for her quest to eat every creature she can?

This was a funny and sweet read. I cannot wait for the next volume!

Let me preface by saying that I received an ARC for this via NetGalley for a honest review.

Are you an otaku who loves monsters, food, and swoon worthy moments? Then, this is the manga for you!

"Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!" is about this outcast girl named Melphiera who is obsessed with making delicious meals out of, you guessed it, monster meat. It is considered a faux pas where she lives, thus making her an outcast. With all the rumors and bullying that is happening due to Melphiera's unique cuisine choices, it is making her debut in high society a bit difficult. Add a Mad Duke, delicious monster food, silliness, and heart-warming moments and you have a great start to a new manga series.

Granted it was the first volume, so much of the story is an introduction to this world. In future volumes, I'm sure that there will be more charming adventures to come between Melphiera and a certain duke that I will be eager to read. I highly recommend if you are in the mood for a foodie, fantasy shojo.

i liked this one a lot, as it really had an interesting juxtaposition: to have something as high culture as regency/high society media paired with slaying, butchering, and eating monsters was a fun subversion on a usually stuffy manga trope. there are a million stories of nobles having meet cutes, but nothing quite as unique and abject as this in the manga i've encountered. i feel like they did try to cram a whole lot in this first volume which led to a bit of a pacing problem but otherwise i had so much fun with this.

this was so fun! i love stories about food and culinary and this is one of them! main characters are sweet, and i really like the fact that it is about weird hobbies and how people don't fit in because of them.

Pass The Monster Meat, Milady! 1 was written well. The picture it portrays gives a new way to look at different kinds of meat. I really like the main characters Melphiera and Lord Galbraith. I hope they end up together. I look forward to reading a sequel. Excellent artwork!

I enjoyed this manga. I even started reading the rest of it online. I liked how the man was very interesting in her weird hobbie.

Cute! I enjoy a story that includes culinary and food. If you love the cutesy storyline I would highly recommend this for you. I don't see this being palatable for the majority of readers, but I would still recommend giving it a shot.

Melphiera is a bit...odd. The daughter of a noble and she's a bit obsessed with food and not just any food, dishes made from monsters full of all sorts of poisons and magic that should turn anyone's stomach. But not Melphiera's, for her each monster is just a culinary masterpiece waiting to be eaten! Duke Galbrath is also a bit...odd. His ability to take down monsters in one hit is uncanny and a little scary, earning him the title of The Blood Mad Duke. When these two oddballs meet at a social event will it be love at first sight!?

This was just cute! An adorable little story about two people who have been shunned y society for their "weird" hobbies who find each other and hopefully unconditional acceptance of the people they are. Melphiera is clearly an expert in her chosen "field" and the passion that she has for it is infectious! And Duke Galbrath's reaction and even support of her is wonderful as well. It's always nice to have a romance start off almost immediately with two people who just "get" each other.

The art is absolutely gorgeous as well! The attention to detail on Melphiera's dresses alone makes this manga stand out!

Overall, absolutely looking forward to the next volume in this series!

And as always thanks to Yen Press and Netgalley for the eArc!

OH MY GOD WOW. i loved this one so much! the premise is incredibly fun and unique. at least, for me. two people, melphiera and the blood mad duke, who have basically been shunned by society for being, shall we say, eccentric in their interests, come together and bond over that very interest.

aristide rogier du galbraith is a duke who passionately loves killing monsters for which he is named "the blood-mad duke." melphiera marchalrayd is the daughter of an earl and loves to cook and eat monster meat, for which she is labelled "the voracious villain." her father and step-mother are desperate for her to find a husband and give her a deadline to find a husband. a struggling melphiera feels hopeless until she meets the blood-mad duke and sparks erupt when they bond over moster meat.

what do i even say about this one? i fully expected a decent time while reading this. what i did not expect was to be blown away by the story. i don't even know how to put in words what about this was appealing to me. the dialogue was so witty, the characters were so likeable and ADORABLE. the characters design is also splendid. kauss, his grace's steward, was such a delightful side character. seeing the dynamic between his grace and kauss made me giggle. i love that melphie and aristide bond over something so unique and fun. i felt the spark between them already and i love the way the duke treats melphie. this first volume itself was such a great time. i am eagerly anticipating the next! i know this series is going to be great and i will pray everyday for it to get animated. it would genuinely make a great anime, especially for fans of campfire cooking in another world with my absurd skill who wishes there was a little romance in it!

a huge thanks to kodansha comics and netgalley for an e-arc. all thoughts are my own and not influenced in any way.

-Contains spoilers- I absolutely loved this story, it's about two people who don't really fit in. One who has an odd hobby that makes people avoid her whenever she is at events. The other is a Duck who is known for slaying monsters and being cruel. After an attack on an event the two of them meet and hit it off right away. Two souls used to being alone find someone they just click with.

I absolutely Love the flow and emotions of the characters. Can't wait to read the rest of this series and see where their story goes.

I got this from as an ARC from NetGally-

This was a fun and surprisingly sweet read. The concept (and wonderful cover art) drew me in and it was every bit as silly as I thought it would be, in a good way. I really liked the main characters and I want to continue with the series!

I was immediately drawn into this by the art style and the concept, and I feel like the mangaka did a really great job with the setup! I fell in love with both main characters basically at first sight 😂 and loved their dynamic when they interacted! It was so charming to see them bond over monsters, and the historical romance vibes was pretty strong too. Even though I was taken a bit aback by some of the developments, I think it still fit with the vibe. Absolutely looking forward to continuing the series!

What a ridiculously silly and entertaining manga! "Pass the Monster Meat, Milady" follows a young woman named Melphie who is obsessed with cooking and eating monster meat, so much so that she cannot find a husband due to her weird tastes. She has a chance meeting with a Duke known for being a bloodthirsty monster killer, and they totally hit it off! Their weird personalities really jive, and soon, the duke proposes!

I thought this manga was super creative and hilarious! If you're looking for something fresh and new, try this one out! The artwork is great, very detailed on some pages, but then flips to some chibi style art during some of the sillier scenes. So far this seems like it could be good for the teen and adult age range. I would definitely try reading the second volume and totally recommend!

Thank you to netgalley and Kodansha comics for providing an arc for this manga in exchange for an honest review.

This manga is incredibly swoon worthy, cozy and light-hearted, I instantly fell in love with it upon the first few pages of reading. I personally found the fantasy elements and the world quite endearing as I loved the concept of the monsters and the female lead's fascination with monster meat cuisine was so unique and entertaining. The story is full of so much fun and I adored both the female and male protagonists because although they do exemplify the common trope of the strange but charming girl drawing the attention of the misunderstood, mysterious and cold male lead, it was done in such a delightful and delicious way. It satiated my appetite for a good, romantic read with a lot of comedic moments.

I felt so immersed in the world and the artwork is gorgeous! This is honestly the perfect read for fans of shoujo romance fantasy mangas who just want to escape into a world full of magic and who want some feel good cozy vibes. I've gone ahead and ordered a copy as I am definitely going to be reading the next instalments for this.

Overall, this was personally a 10/10 for me - such a great start that introduced the characters really well with super cute artwork and a captivating story. I am eagerly awaiting for the next book!!

This is one of the best Mangas I have read in quite some time. It has a very interesting concept well also having romance as a centre it’s a really cool world where a lot of people are scared and how both of the main characters have different names for different reasons and how they slow into toes lives very well. I did absolutely enjoy the different creatures and designs android the character arcs and also in joyed the way the main couple interacts with each other, although I think it’s a little bit insta love it was really enjoyable so I can actually look past that the art style is absolutely stunning and there was enough text to help with the tech manga but not enough the crowd at the Page

A super cute and well illustrated manga about a woman obsessed with eating monsters and a man obsessed with hunting them. A match made in heaven, right? Well...you'll see! It ends on a cliffhanger so I'll definitely be picking up volume 2.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!
