An adorable reverse roles manga, with a princely female lead and the popular guy at school. It just so happens that she's a little taller, a littler more popular, and she drives him totally crazy. Haruma Ichinose might just be falling in love with his Yuki Mogami, but how can he handle the fact that she might be cooler than he is?
Ichinose is definitely struggling to admit to himself that he has a huge crush on his somewhat oblivious classmate Mogami. But what if she seems to have feelings for him too? This comedic slow burn romance hits all the right notes.
Next to Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun, I think this might be the most shojo Shojo Manga to have ever existed. Of course, I'm exaggerating, but as a huge fan of Nozaki-kun, this manga did an excellent job of bringing me back into that comedy-romance atmosphere and making me really invested in the characters. In only 13 chapters (plus a few more bonus chapters), I think it's possible that every shojo trope known to man was used.
I thought the role reversal was cute and added a fresh touch to the ordinary shoo manga scene; however, all the tropes one after the other made it a bit much at times. It took me a couple different tries to finish the volume because I kept having to put it down and come back to it later. I could see this being very fun as an anime.
The constant bonus chapter side stories pulled me out of the main story and overall made it more comedy than shojo, making it feel very "filler episode" heavy. 2.5/5 Stars
This was SO fun! Cool guy finds himself in competition with a charismatic girl who gets more attention than him. In their dynamic, it is clear that the girl is the traditionally 'cool' one and he is the 'damsel in distress' leading to some funny scenes. This is clearly a romance where both people like each other but won't admit it! Very likeable characters and the chapters followed very shoujo-esque routines, but didn't take itself too seriously and joked about this fact throughout.
Having googled this, it appears to have three volumes in Japanese and it appears to be completed, so I am looking forward to reading the remaining volumes once they are translated into English!
I was provided with a complementary copy of this manga by Kodansha via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, which I leave voluntarily.
I liked the art style for this manga.
This was such a cute story. I love when the main character is a guy who is like "I'm in love with my friend but thats not manly to say out loud". Classic. The story focused on the usual tropes and seeing as I'm someone who loves those tropes I was here for it. Some of the characters were a lot at moments but thats high school stories. I liked it and would be interested in seeing what vol 2 has in store.
Has a really nice art style, the artist did a great job.
The male main character is a bit much for me (seems kinda whiny) but I completely understand that he’s probably supposed to be like that as it is a role reversal kind of thing.
I think I liked it enough to keep reading more of the series.
I read the actual story but didn't get past the second bonus chapter. I think more of a graphic novel girly than a manga girly. I couldn't connect with the characters. I didn't want to read on and keep having more experiences. The art was well done, and I enjoyed the idea of the storyline, but I don't think it was executed well enough to bring in a new manga fan like me.
Adorable, and really funny as the main character deals with all the regular heroine shoujo manga tropes.
First of all, I love a tall queen and a short king. Secondly, I love how our FMC had short hair that you typically don't see. This was such a fun read!
A very enjoyable comedy shoujo manga! It was rather refreshing that it flipped the stereotypical gender roles, even if the plot was somewhat predictable. Overall, very fun.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an e-ARC copy of this book, in exchange for this honest review.
This is a comedy manga that plays with clichés, stereotypes and gender roles. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and there's definitely a good dose of surrealism. I would recommend it for anyone wanting something fun, light and different within the rom-com genre.
My Knight by: Saisou
I thought this was a really cute shojo romance/ comedy. Ichinose is so into Mogami, but he can't admit to anyone that he might want to be with someone like her. Mogami, for her part, is starting to catch on, and I think she really sees Ichinose as someone she could be with. But when both do nothing but deflect and miscommunicate, it's going to be pretty hard to get them to admit their feelings for each other, believe each other, and end up together. The series looks pretty short, so maybe I'll stick with it and see how they get together.
I recommend this one if you love those silly high school romances.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A huge thank you to Netgalley and @kodanshamanga for this ARC copy. The physical manga is out now.
Thanks NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for this arc
3/5 stars
This is a funny concept, but I foundbitbto be lacking. I didn't feel like any of the characters were very well rounded, nor was the storyline very cohesive. If you want something low plot silly vibes this would be good
Really enjoyed this one.
Loved the art work.
I also love the front cover to this.
Hope to get a physical copy one day.
This volume was great and very refreshing. Think of your typical shojo romance and flip the gender rolls! It remind of the relationships between Haruhi and the Host Club Boys! I would recommend this to any romance fluff lovers!
NOTE: Unable to add link, my apologies.
Re-read 2/17/24-“That girl is going to reincarnate in another world someday and get a harem.” Too cute and I want to be that girl, just sayin’, lol.
THIS WAS JUST TOO CUTE!!
Et hem, I mean, it was SO ADORABLE MY HEART MELTED!!!
Ummm...what I meant to say is...
I really liked the role-reversal of the female being the "hero" and the male being the "heroine" in their behaviors. Also loved the body positivity of a 6 foot plus female romantic lead with the male romantic lead being shorter and while he was a little upset he was shorter, no one else minded and they all still loved the female lead and there was no tall shaming going on. (I don't personally have the problem, being altitudally-challenged, however it was nice to see in the book.)
I really enjoyed this and can't wait for the next one to come out so I can devour it! I will be recommending this at the store, definitely! 5, it's just so CUTE, stars.
My thanks to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.
Thank you so much for letting me read this manga. this is such a cute kind of cozy story. The art style was a little off putting some times especialy the male main character gets distorted a lot.

This was a super cute read! She's My Knight Volume 1 follows Ichinose, a cool and popular high school student who finds himself challenged by the even more loved and charismatic Mogami who is unintentionally like a hero in a Shoujo Manga. What starts as a rivalry turns into more as he fights to understand his feelings, while finding himself in a lot of odd situations.
The story is pretty plotless, but it's a cute slice of life manga with such adorable characters I definitely found myself rooting for them! I also love their friends they are so fun. If you are after a cute easy read, that is very low stake I would definitely recommend!
Thank you to NetGalley and Kondansha Comics for providing me with an eARC in return for an honest review.
I don’t like the male main character, so it didn’t really hold my attention. I don’t like the jumpy male types in some manga. When they act kind of tsundere or whatever. The art is so cute though! Amazing style.
I so enjoyed She’s My Knight volume 1! What a fun fresh manga! The art is great, it has cozy (and sometimes cringey) vibes and kept me laughing out loud. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lighthearted romp of a shoujo manga. It did have some downsides for me - I didn’t love the strict gender norms that the plot is based on, and I wasn’t 100% in love with the characters. The good news is those are not deal breakers for me! I still really enjoyed this fun manga and would easily pick up volume 2 the next time I need a good laugh. I’m sure I could grow to love these characters and I look forward to seeing more.
Haruma Ichinose has a huge problem. He is no longer the most popular student! He has met his match in Yuki Mogami. She is 4.7 inches taller than him and seems to always come to his rescue and other students rescue on a regular basis. She is the prince of the school while Ichinose seems to have become the heroine in a shojo manga. Being cast as Cinderella certainly does not help him resolve his feeling for Mogami. A fun, episodic manga that has great potential if you like role reversal, parody, and a good cast of characters!
Thanks Netgalley and Kodansha for the opportunity to read this title!
