This book was a psychological thriller with so many twists and turns. Such an original concept but plays on the fears we all have in the school playground. The ending was very unpredictable and I will definitely read more from this author.

Absolutely loved this book! Story line kept me hooked and interested to keep reading. The plot was interesting and kept me guessing throughout with the ending. The ending didn’t disappoint.

I really enjoyed reading this book, I found the storyline imerssive and compelling, Faulkner manages to grab our attention from the first page and it's definitely one of those books, you can't put down for too long as you want to know what happens next and how the story ends. I love a morally grey characters and the reader very quickly realises that every single person in this story has dirty secrets. The dual POV and short chapters make for an easy and fast pace and I really enjoyed how Tash's and Sophie's stories eventually meet at point zero through loads of plot twists. The way Faulkner gives us Tash's 'outsider' feeling and her desire to 'fit in' and be part of the 'cool/rich/wearing expensive clothes' mums group is very convincing and the realisation that nothing is actually as it seems from the outside is well constructed. Overall, it's not easy to write an original and fresh book in this genre and I was so pleasantly surpised that 'The Other Mothers' was such an enjoyable reading experience.

struggled too get into this book but it was one of them you dodnt want to put down cos you wanted too find out what happened snd get to the end which wasn't as great as it could have been. Its a good read if you like thrillers regarding mums.

While dealing with a complex murder investigation, it also throws a spotlight on the difficult relationships between mothers.

Told from two perspectives and timelines, we follow Tash as she tries to fit in with the playgroup mothers as well as be a freelance journalist, and Sophie a young nanny who died in suspicious circumstances.

Will Tash solve the murder? Will she love to tell the tale? Tash soon finds herself embroiled in a very risky investigation and has to question everyone around her, who is safe? Who can she trust?

Lots of characters, most of them with a murky secret to hide. A gritty read.

Another superb novel from Katherine Faulkner, and equally as engrossing as Greenwich Park. The other mothers seem to have a much better life than the principal character and she is desperate to integrate herself into the group. However, other people's lives are not always what they seem, and secrets abound. Well written and full of delightful revelations, this is a very enjoyable novel.

I'm interested in thrillers surrounding mothers and motherhood. And this book does make a few good points about that topic but it's mostly a domestic thriller about the murder of a nanny.

The book suffers from bad characters and their questionable decision making skills. It's told from alternating POVs of Sophie, the nanny from a few months before she was killed and present day Tash, a struggling journalist in search of her next big story.

It starts off slow but slowly gets interesting and while I wasn't hooked to the book, I wanted to keep going to find out what happens. I wasn't fond of the ending and as a whole, thought it could have been far better,

Took a long time to stop being a slow burner and the ‘action’ start and feel could have been a shorter book,I found some of the writing choppy and the sentences worded too short and was sometimes re editing in my mind instead of concentrating on the story etc,,also found the beginning a bit confusing as to who was who
Once the story got going was much more enjoyable

I loved this book! It kept me gripped throughout, and I raced through. I thoroughly enjoyed Greenwich Park, and I was excited to read this one - The Others Mothers definitely exceeded expectations. This book will keep you guessing until the end.

Honestly the most I've been gripped by a novel in quite a while, with many twists and turns, I found myself constantly wanting to keep reading, particularly towards the end. While there were a fair few predictable moments, there was also quite a few points where I didn't know what to anticipate and was shocked when the next big moment was revealed. Will definitely be sharing this to my platforms soon.

This was everything I love in domestic noirs! The characters are well written and given dimesniin. There are twists and turns and the author expertly builds suspense and tension through her descriptive and evocative writing style. Its split pov and also deals with the topics of privilege and class very tastefully and honestly. Amazing!

Tash, who longs to be part of this group, is envious of their seemingly perfect lives.

As Tash delves deeper into the investigation, she realizes that the group of mothers is not as perfect as it seems. The story alternates between Tash and Sophie's perspectives, giving us insight into their worlds and the secrets that they hold.

The author, Katherine Faulkner, has done an excellent job of creating a gripping and suspenseful tale that is hard to put down. Her writing is detailed and descriptive, making it easy to visualize the different scenes and characters.

Overall, 'The Other Mothers' is a fantastic read that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It was a huge page turner and by the end I'd been spun around so many times. It's a thriller and becomes really gripping when you realise who is actually involved in the crime isn't who you think at all, or is it?

This happens after Sophie's mother approaches Tash, begging her to investigate. She is convinced that her daughter was murdered, but is unable to provide any proof or information to support this assertion.

Increasingly caught up in the case, Tash is dismayed to discover that Sophie actually worked as a nanny for one of the women in the 'yummy mummy' clique that she herself has recently been accepted into. Delighted to be hanging out with this well-heeled and popular trio of women, it takes a while before Tash starts questioning why they have chosen to include her in their social circle at all, since she would not otherwise be a natural candidate for their friendship.

Nor are the women willing to talk about Sophie at all, which Tash finds puzzling. There is clearly more to the story than meets the eye, and the book does an excellent job of taking the reader along for the suspenseful ride that the lead character unexpectedly finds herself taking.

Faulkner has written a marvellous book - intriguing, suspenseful, and highly enjoyable. She also provides an intelligent and nuanced take on issues of class and privilege. Her insightful observations about new motherhood, and how different people deal with this all too common - but nevertheless fraught - change in their circumstances lend the narrative greater depth and authenticity. This is definitely a writer to look out for.

I have not read Greenwich Park, no idea how I missed it…. but it’s being added to my TBR list having now read and thoroughly enjoyed The Other Mothers.
