Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an advanced copy to review!

Piper's Pet Pursuit (love the alliteration btw!) Is an adorable book about one tenacious girl's persistence in getting a pet. Her parents told her she can't have one, so she started treating the "unexpected visitors" as pets, much to her parents dismay. This book is beautifully illustrated with many funny moments that my girls adored (they also are on a quest for a pet). They could relate to Piper's frustrations and creativity to solving the problem, and I could relate to the horror and exasperation the parents felt! Plus the ending was so cute and perfect for this story!

This is definitely a 5 star children's book and I definitely will be picking up a physical copy when it's released :)

This book has eye catching illustrations and the dialogue goes at a great pace to make a book that is a great length for new readers! The alliteration used is adorable. I love the “parents’” perspective to each new ask.

Piper's Pet Pursuit is a wonderful book about a very persistent little girl who wants a pet so bad, she builds an inn for bugs and more to treat their guests with care. The illustrations are beautiful and I know I would've loved this book when I was younger.

Cute little book that demonstrates kindness and to animals and also how to be a responsible little pet owner. Piper has proven herself to her parents and she is given the chance to pamper all the pets she befriends. While I don’t personally love bugs, most kids do so I love the creativity that this book shows them on how to have fun with the wildlife in their own environment. Simply adorable and funny! My kids loved it too!

This was a short and easy picture book to read and understand. Most children from a young age want to own a pet but don't always understand the responsibilities of having one. Not Piper though. She had the plan to show her parents that she was more than capable of having a pet and looking after it. Some of her methods were funny, some parts grossed me out and I completely understood where her parents were coming from and some were plain sweet.

Piper really wants a pet. When her parents teach her to be kind to all creatures, including mosquitos, her parents realize she can take care of a pet of her own. Plus, they just might just not want anymore cockroaches sleeping with little felt blankets or beetles riding on rubber duckies in the bathtub, A cute and beautifully illustrated picture book.

🤗Delightful whimsy🐜🐞🐸🐿

I found Piper's Pet Pursuit adorably entertaining and the bright illustrations combined superbly with the text to make a storybook that should delight any child.

Piper finds a way to quickly wear her parents down when they refuse to get her a pet. Her method appears a bit creepy (crawly) to an adult, but she just wants a live creature (or more!) to care for!

And the last few pages are such a cute way to end the story! I hope the author brings Piper back for future adventures.

Thanks to Whimspire Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the storybook; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Cute story, following a child who wants a pet. It truly captures the mind of a child on a mission to convince their parents. Adorable story with a fun ending.

Thank you author, publisher, and Negalley for the free ARC. This was a cute book. I thought the premise of the story and illustrations were very cute. I liked the story, however, it ended up falling a little flat for me. It ended very abruptly.

A cute story about wanting a pet and going through different animals/bugs to show that Piper is ready to take a care of a pet. A cute book for animal loves and children who are trying to get a pet themselves. I liked Piper's drive to get a pet and the many different ways she tried to show her parents that she was ready to take a care of a pet herself

Piper desperately wants a pet after her friend and cousin have real ones, rather than stuffed animal.

Piper is referred to "persistent" Piper by her parents after constantly requesting a real pet. Piper makes friends with unexpected visitors after taking her parents teaching of making others feel welcome in her own home. These unexpected guests include insects whom her parents don't view as pets. Piper's parents decide that she has demonstrated responsibility and gets a real pet.

This is an entertaining picture book of a girl inadvertently getting a pet after welcoming bugs into her home. I love the illustration by Luis Peres. I highly recommend this book for its warm illustrations that blend very well with the story.

Piper's Pet Pursuit is a fun read that has lovely illustrations. In this book, animal lover Piper is committed to wanting a pet. From her parent's continuous refusal, she proves to them that she is able to take care of a pet through the good habits that her parents taught her. In the end, from all the bugs and animals around the house that Piper keeps bringing in, she gets the pet that she wanted!

This is just an adorable story about a little girl who loves animals and is desperate to have a pet. The illustrations are also very cute, and perfect for the book.

When Piper's parents come up with a variety of excuses to explain to her why she cannot have a pet animal when other kids around her have cats and birds, she decides to apply her parents' instructions on hospitality in a way that leaves them flabbergasted.

Piper's parents are so taken aback by her use of the vintage dollhouse given to her by her grandmother - with which the little girl opens a Bed and Breakfast for some, ahem, unusual guests - that they finally crack!

And in the end, Piper gets her pet. Except it isn't really the end, because it is just the beginning of Piper's plans for her new, parentally-approved pet...

Such an adorable story! I loved Piper and how persistent she was. The ending was sweet, too. Recommend this book for all kiddos!

I absolutely love the humor in this! And the illustrations were bold, vibrant, and fun. It's a cute story with a happy ending. The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars was some of the forced alliteration was a bit much. The story was strong enough without it.

Piper's Pet Pursuit by Cortney Cino is an engaging book that will have kids laughing at the antics Piper goes through in pursuit of the perfect pet. Piper wants a pet and wants to show her parents that she can take care of one so she shows them all the ways she can be a good pet owner.

This book is very relatable to young readers. As a 2nd grade teacher, we do an opinion writing lesson on what animal is the perfect pet and why. This would be a great mentor text to get them engaged in the topic and get them excited about writing.

As a parent this is a great book to have children predict if Piper finds a pet or not, what pet that might be, what pet they think would be the perfect pet and why, etc. After each pet you can ask your child if that animal would make a good pet and why or why not. There are so many great ways to work on reading comprehension with this book.

The pictures are engaging and beautiful. This book will have parents and young readers hooked from the first page.

There are so many great reasons to read this book and as a teacher and a parent I am so glad there is literature like this to engage students and get them thinking and talking about text.

Teachers and parents, do yourself a favor and pick up this book on January 9, 2024. I know I will!

Thank you NetGalley and Courtney Cino for voluntarily letting me read this book and give an honest review.

I could imagine my students groaning and laughing as I read this story. As a first grade teacher, I think young children will find this book very humorous. It would be a good mentor text to use during a persuasive writing unit.
