This series is one to read if you are in for the long haul. Emberly definitely has put in the detail and effort, and she has excruciatingly done a great job keeping her readers engaged with action, sass, and heartbreak. She is brutal with her administrations but I am here for it. I absolutely love the way she wrote this series and look forward to book 3.

Absolutely loved it! She for sure knows how to leave you dangling! Veyka is still that girl! Arran is growing with Veyka and I love this story. The twists this book takes are maybe even better than in the first!

After Veyka is ripped through the void and falls through a bunch of worlds, the gang goes to the human world in search of Avalon and answers to the void prophecy with Parys and Gwen staying behind to keep things running smoothly.
This was really giving the vibes of throne of glass plus Arthurian legend with a plus sized heroine. I feel like so much and so little happened at the same time. Imo a lot of this book was just filler so more random Arthurian names could be dropped in. Also for Parys to have miraculously discovered the same thing that the rest of the gang was just offhandedly told seems like a cop out, and for Gwen to not take his information seriously is so out of character and stupid. I really don’t want her guilt to be a major plot point in the next book but seems like that’s where we’re headed. Still enjoyed this and will read book three but in 500 pages I need more answers.

I had been anxiously waiting to read the second installement of this series!
It is a perfect fantasy book, balancing action and romance
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this ARC

Thank you netgalley for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review. I liked how we finally got to venture beyond the castle in this book for an extended period of time. I also liked the inclusion of the chapters from Parys pov. I honestly struggled to get through this book. I felt as though the major conflict that we begin the book with was resolved far too quickly. I also felt that the pacing was super slow in the middle and towards the end. I found myself not really loving the two main characters either. I think this series has so much potential but I really struggled with this one.

I really wish I liked this book more but it was too chaotic. I struggled to keep up, follow the story, or even understand what was going on most of the time. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 is for the cliffhanger, I feel like the last couple of chapters was the only time I wanted to keep reading. Otherwise I felt like there was a lot to read in the book, but not all that much happening
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the DRC!

"Throne of Air and Darkness" by Emberly Ash dives deeper into the Secrets of the Faerie Crown series. Veyka Pendragon grapples with her role as High Queen of Annwyn while facing unexpected truths and challenges. While the story gets a bit tangled at times, fans of twisted mythology and fantasy romance will still find this dark and enchanting sequel worth a read!

This is the second instalment in The Secrets of the Faerie Crown series.
I found this to be a more politically-focused and action-packed instalment, than book one, and I personally enjoyed this. It still had frequent steamy scenes and a swoon-worthy romance, as well as a cast full of all the most loveable characters, alongside this too. The perfect fae romantasy!

I love this series and the author is fast becoming one of my new favorites. Just enough spice.
The world building is fascinating and it's so easy to fall in love (or hate) characters. I found myself not wanting this one to end. I can't wait to continue with this series!

It picks up right where book one ended. Loved how fluid the writing and plot were. Sometimes authors tend to break a
little from one book to another, but I loved how it felt that I was just reading the second half of book one.
Tho I thought that some things were a bit repetitive.
We follow the MC in their journey and the tension between them was so palpable.
Will definitely read the next book.

This book felt like a lot happened. I think this book had so much happening but at the same time didn’t feel rushed. Overall I really loved this book and this series.
I loved how Veyka and arrans relationship and bond solidified this book and although I felt that Veyka feelings gave me whiplash a little in the end I really loved her and how she was with Arran. I loved the spicy scenes between them!
The side characters had huge growth in this book, I felt like Parys really stepped up this book along with Guinevere, I loved how their friendship was growing. I think my favourite side character is Cyara I love what she becomes in this book! And love her growth and strength!
Again this book had amazing world building and Fae/magical system that kept growing and advancing. I cannot wait for the next book!

Omg, I couldn't get enough of this book! Due to real life, I could not just sit and binge it in one sitting; I had to take quite a few, but it was so worth it! I loved these books so much! I want to be part of this world so much. The drama, the action, the romance of it all was brilliant. I need more!

Just magical. Beautifully written. I love this story very much. Chapters have depth. I couldn't put this down.

As with book 1, the dedication absolutely hooked me, and after that I just couldn't put this book down.
I loved the journey (both emotional and physical), that Veyka and Arran went on in this book, and how both of them helped heal the other.
My heart almost burst with happiness at the found family and friendships within this book, especiaply after Veyka felt isolated for so long!
I loved all of the intrigue that had me second-guessing what was going on, and how emotionally attached I was to the characters.
The ending had tears streaming down my face, and all I could do was sit there staring at the wall for a bit, trying to process what happened.
𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝑰 𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒚𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕: dark fantasy, steamy romance, multi-POV, healing after trauma, found family, intrigue, prophecy, quest, diversity.
💢 𝙏𝙒𝙨: depression, suicidal ideation, death of a loved one, grief, violence, child abuse (including low detail memory of r*pe), consensual sexual scenes
☆I reveived an ARC if this book from the author. All thoughts are my own honest opinions.☆

Thank you to NetGalley, Emberly Ash, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for an ARC copy of "Throne of Air and Darkness".
"Throne of Air and Darkness" by Emberly Ash is a breath-taking continuation of the Secrets of the Faerie Crown series, delivering another dose of thrilling mythology, romance, and fantasy that will leave readers utterly spellbound.
Veyka Pendragon's world is shattered as she grapples with the revelation of long-held secrets and the betrayal of those she once trusted. Her struggle to reconcile the truth with her desires creates a compelling emotional arc. Alongside Veyka, Arran Earthborn remains a formidable presence, his unwavering determination to protect his beloved leading him down a dangerous path fraught with peril. The intensity of their bond is palpable, igniting the pages with passion and tension that will leave readers breathless.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a captivating escape into a world of magic and intrigue.

First of all I want to thank to Netgalley for this book. I enjoyed this book but I feel like the story could have been a little better. I loved book 1 but I just feel like this one kind of fell flat compared to book 1.

3.5 stars
Had to round this time too because even though the story was so much more exciting than the last book, I also never really cared if I had time to read it. Also, I had thought that Veyka had finally stepped up to be the queen she needed to be, but when she learns of her new magic, she becomes selfish and stupid again. Refusing to practice and learn it because she doesn't think she has to. Which was very annoying.
So we pick up right where the first book ended. Veyka's magic has been ignited with the joining of her blood and Arran's. But it's a magic that she has no hope of controlling. At first anyway. While Veyka is being thrown around between worlds, Arran is getting ready to tear the world apart to find his mate. Which is also something they learn when their blood mixes. Thankfully that mysterious part that has always linked these two together is also what brings Veyka back to him. Parys is convinced that Veyka is the queen spoken of in a prophecy that is thousands of years old, and she's having a hard time ignoring him. To get answers, a very small group of them decide they must travel to place where it came from. But that also means going to the human world.
A lot happens on their travels. The banter between Veyka and Arran was always fun, and while Veyka fights very hard to deny being his mate, even she can feel how right it is for her to be with him. These two become much closer as they travel, but I must say that if Arran is going to promise play with his vines then he should have delivered on that. He does push her to learn how to use her new power and it's really only because of how badly she hurt one of her friends that she tries. And finds she rather likes being able to do what she can now. It's impossible for this group to get where they're going without going into human towns, but they're surprised at how easy they can blend in. Well, except for Arran obviously. Some of these towns have already been destroyed, but some of them are wildly active. They gain a human traveling companion who's too suspicious to trust. And they also meet some more fae that have lived in the human world for thousands of years. It's not exactly a warm welcome, but we learn a lot more about the darkness that has been taking control of the humans and attacking everyone in sight. We also learn that Arthur had many secrets that he was keeping from Veyka. Something that infuriates her when she finds out.
This book we actually get dual perspectives, but it's not Veyka and Arran. The second is actually Parys who was left behind with Gwen to run the kingdom in their absence. Now, while his parts were definitely not as exciting, they were all still very important. Because there are still traitors in the palace and unrest to deal with. Him and Gwen each pursue different targets that end up linking together, and definitely no good comes from it. Bad timing leads to a devastating ending but we do get to see a whole new bloodthirsty side to Gwen.
The end definitely had the most going on. The group gets to their destination only to be told they can't actually speak to anyone. Though Veyka is able to get confirmation on some things with carefully worded questions, which does help them. Someone thought dead comes back with a vengeance and one is struck down by another in their group. There's a massive battle but with only three fighters on their side, Arran and Veyka are woefully outnumbered. Veyka does manage to get revenge on the one who made her suffer so, but it had a far greater cost than she ever expected.
Obviously, this ends on another cliffhanger. But you know what? This time I'm not even mad. I just want to get the next book and find out what happens now.

Veyka is being pulled away. The secret she has spent years protecting comes to light. Arran and Veyka are on a quest for the truth through the human realms.
I was more invested in the first book. The middle of this book was a little lacking in my opinion. I did like having other POV besides Veyka and Arran. I can’t wait to read the next book because the cliffhanger leaves you wanting more.
Thank you to Emberly Ash, Victory Editing and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Cliffhangers are killing me. Loosely based author retelling and love it. Absolutely cannot wait for the next book. Definitely recommend!!!

Once Veyka (the FMC) and Arran (the MMC) are joined, not only does their mating bond fall into place, but Veyka's powers finally awaken.
And luckily for the kingdom, her powers may be the key to ridding the world of these demon shadow people. But first, the gang must go on a road trip to the human realm to get some answers.
Compared to book 1, I didn't find there was as much spice in this book (but it's still steamy AF), largely because it's hard to find alone time when everyone is in tents 🤷♀️. However, there is a hot spring scene, and I *love* a good hot spring scene.

There is a lot of heartbreak in this book as well, and when it comes to a certain bff, I'm not ready to let go yet (but I know I very well might have to 😭)
I couldn't even handle the cliffhanger at the end of this book! I screamed when I saw the 99% pop up at the bottom of the screen and wasn't ready for the book to end the way it did.
