Fighting for Hailey is the latest book by Katie Reus. The first book in the off-shoot Redemption Harbor series Redemption Harbor Security, this is a fast paced, second chance at love. The intriguing mystery is the identity of a kidnapping culprit and the safe return of the kidnapped person. There is political intrigue, medical research, family, and foster care all addressed in this action-packed story. No forget the romance which is slow burn until it is red hot.
An exciting story with marvelous main character, Hailey and Jesse, plus wonderful supporting characters. Even some of the original series make an appearance. I now know who I want to get their story next but only time will tell if that happens. Fans of romantic suspense will love this grand twisty story.
An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Exhilarating! Love the first book in Katie’s new spinoff series. I laughed so much reading this story. But it is not all fun and games. Three guys and a girl, and guess who bugs out? Yep, the girl but she has her reasons (which I will not be divulging). There is so much nail-biting action that it was hard to put the book down. Only did that once I think, the story kept me so interested and on the edge of my seat. Jesse and Hailey’s story is sweet and I love the chapters with letters. The guys never gave up and I really adored that about this story. The camaraderie was fantastic. Katie spins a story that will keep you interested, entertained, laughing at points, and just plain fun.
Saw the next book and holy cow, cannot wait for it.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. You get hooked from the beginning and anticipate the twist and turns of the plot. Thought it was more of a second chance romance story, was a good beginning to a new series.
Given arc by Net Galley and KP.Press for my voluntary review
Releases. 23 Jan.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I love this author and enjoyed this security series. Hailey and Jesse have a past and Jesse wants answers. When he finds Hailey in their foster brother’s home after he was kidnapped, Jesse is not leaving Hailey out of his site.
As they work to find Easton, old feelings start to build but will old secrets keep them apart? Can they work through their issues?
Great read and I couldn’t put it down.
Jesse and Hailey. A second chance romance with a dangerous twist. Thrown back together when their foster brother is kidnapped, their chemistry quickly reignites. Along with finding out who took their brother and why, they have to navigate their history and if they can/do have a future. Full of colorful characters, solid friendships, and entertaining work styles, this is a quick and fun read!
I love this story! Fighting for Haley was a love story filled with redemption and reminding us what family really means. Haley does what she thinks is the right thing and lets Jesse go. Years later they come back together to save someone they both love and find their own happy ending. I loved this story and can't wait for the next one in the series.

Fighting For Hailey
I want to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
I absolutely loved this second chance romance by Katie. Within this book you get a little bit of everything. You get some romance, action and suspense. This book will have you turning page after page not knowing where it’s going to take you up until the end.
The characters are relatable and lovable and their development through this book is great as well as the dialogue. I absolutely LOVED all of the characters in this one! This book is a must have on your TBR. This book can also be read as a standalone. I cannot wait for the next one!!!
What a good read. When one friend goes missing it brings the others back together in a way only one of them might have imagined. Read this book for new characters and stories from the Redemption Harbor crew.
Jesse has loved Hailey for years and has been waiting for her to finally come back to him when she left him and their other foster siblings Cash and Easton behind ten years ago. She could see great things for them in their futures and knowing she would cause them problems, she didn’t want to hold them back. Even though she ghosted them, they never gave up on her while she finally got her life together and she is now working for Redemption Harbor Security. When Easton was kidnapped, she and her team headed to Virginia to help find him and she also found herself in the process. Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read an arc for this book. The review provided is voluntary.

Fighting for Hailey is a great start to the Redemption Harbor spinoff, Redemption Harbor Security! Katie Reus always does romantic suspense really well.
Hailey was in foster care with Jessie, Cash and Easton, and in love with Jessie. Without spoilers, she has reasons for leaving them when she was 18 to join the military and she cuts off all contact. Years later she finds out Easton has been kidnapped and heads home to help find him, of course running into Jessie. Sparks fly and the tension is hot! Hailey and her Redemption Harbor Security team work together with Jessie and Cash, and some old friends from the OG Redemption Harbor series to locate and rescue Easton.
This book had all the twists and turns you’d expect from a book by Ms. Reus. I highly recommend this book and I’m excited for the next one. If you haven’t read the original Redemption Harbor series, check it out too!
Fighting for Hailey is a fast paced pull at your heart strings witty well written storyline with a well developed group of characters who are family not by blood but by choice so when one of theirs goes missing the must put aside old hurts and work together not only to save their brother but clear the air and recapture what once was Jesse and Hailey are a hot intriguing couple and a amazing choice for the beginning of a new series I can't hardly wait for book 2 Cash's story.
I received a advance reader's copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
A great read, full of action and an old love reunited. Easton’s kidnapping brings the old group back together to rescue him and in the process Jesse and Hailey have a second chance at love and take it. The story is well written and very entertaining. It’s a wonderful story that is worth reading.
I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley and are voluntarily leaving a review.
When her foster brother is kidnapped, she has to face her past in order to save him.
Hailey heads up Redemption Harbor Security, a group whose focus is on helping out desperate people who have been failed by the system. After her years in the military, she is a well trained and highly effective operative…and she will need all of her skills when one of her foster brothers Easton is kidnapped. Easton is a brilliant scientist who is working on cures for both ALS and Alzheimer’s, not exactly someone who would be an obvious candidate for kidnapping. Hailey hasn’t seen Easton in years, although she had agreed to meet him for lunch the day he disappeared. She backed out at the last minute, and now is second guessing herself…surely if she had been with him, she could have prevented his capture? To say that her relationship with Easton and her other two foster brothers, Jessie and Cash, is complicated is an understatement. They all had messed up childhoods, and had bounced around in foster homes for years until coming together in their teens and forming a true family. More than that, Hailey and Jesse had fallen in love. Determined not to stand in Jesse’s way when he received a college scholarship, Hailey cut off ties with all three of her “brothers” and enlisted in the military. But even though she has kept herself cut off from them, she still loves and misses them…and has never gotten over Jesse. Now, with Easton’s life in danger, Hailey has returned and must work with Jesse and Cash in order to save the brother they all love. With the help of two of her team members, Reese and Elijah, as well as federal law enforcement, they will do whatever it takes to find out who snatched Easton and why, and to get him to safety.
Hailey is highly skilled and extremely good at her job, but emotionally she is basically a screwed up mess. She cut herself off from the family she had formed so that the boy she loved wouldn’t be held back. Jesse has gone on to create a series of apps that have made him incredibly wealthy, and he has made it a point to use that money to fund meaningful research including the projects on which Easton is working. But he hasn’t gotten over his love for Hailey, and is determined that this time she won’t be walking away from him. Cash, the fourth “sibling”, has also found his way to financial success, and finds himself intrigued by Hailey’s co=worker Reese. Together, they pool their talents, resources and contacts to find out who took Easton and why, and don’t let the mistakes of the past or the dangers in the present get in their way. The plot moves quickly, the characters are well thought out and enjoyable to read. Readers of authors like Rebecca Zanetti, Kat Martin and Heather Graham should give Fighting for Hailey a try, and readers of Katie Reus’ previous titles (including those in the Redemption Harbor series, of which this is a spin-off) will not be disappointed. Thank you to NetGalley and KR Press for allowing me access to an advanced reader’s copy of this novel of romantic suspense.
It had been a while since I’ve read the last of the Redemption Harbor series. Chasing Vengeance in April 2019 was the last in the series that I’ve read. In September 2022 however, I stumbled onto Resurrection, so Skye was still more fresh in my mind. And now we have a new spin-off of the series: The Redemption Harbor Security series! Hailey and her team are employed by Skye to set up this new branch of the company. After being deployed for several years, Hailey now returns home for the first time, to save her foster brother. This means she will has to face her other foster brothers, Cash and Jesse, whom she walked out on all those years ago.
Jesse never understood why Hailey walked out on them, nine years, four months, two weeks, three days and six hours ago. But who is counting, right? But now they have a more important issue: their baby brother Easton has been kidnapped and together they will break every rule to find him and get him home safe. And then, Jesse will never ever let Hailey go again.
True to Katie, suspense will be around every corner. And although you can read it as a standalone, it’s sooooo much better if you read the whole series! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalleyfor providing the arc.
This is the 1st in the Redemption Harbor Security series. This book is a start of a new series but spinoff of Redemption Harbor. A great second chance romance with a little bit of suspense thrown in to make an enjoyable read. Hailey grew up in foster care with Jesse, Cash and Easton but when she turned 18, she decided to leave them and join the military. But she found out that Easton was kidnapped and with her job now working for the Redemption Harbor Security, she is going to find out what happened to him. She breaks into Easton’s apartment and meets up with Jesse. That is when her feelings for him come rushing back. They decide to work together to find out who took Easton and why. With them working together it also brought Hailey in contact with Cash. Now they were all together like in the old days except for Easton. The more they try to find Easton the more danger they find themselves in. Will Jesse and Hailey get back together again and will they find Easton alive and well. I recommend not only this book but this author if you enjoy romantic suspense. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for providing an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Hailey and Jesse! Jesse was obsessed with Hailey and very protective, which I like to see in a hero. He could have made things hard on her for bailing when she was younger but all he cared about was getting her back. I really enjoyed Hailey and Cash’s relationship. As foster siblings, they truly acted like blood siblings. And Easton just seems like a sweetheart. I hope to see more of him in this series. This book set up the next with Cash’s interest in Reese and I’m intrigued. I already like how Cash is chasing her.
I enjoyed the books in the Redemption Harbor series so when NetGalley offered the first book in Katie Reus’ new Redemption Harbor Security series, I jumped right on it and I’m so glad I did. This is a great start to what I’m sure will be another fantastic romantic suspense series from Katie Reus. I so enjoy found family story lines and this one has all the elements I look for in that genre. The characters – Jesse, Cash, Easton and Hailey all grew up together in foster care and they have a special bond that comes through the incredible writing of this author. My heart broke for Jesse, Hailey and Cash as they were searching for Easton – I could feel their emotions and the incredibly tight bond they have with one another. Of course, there’s a bit of mystery thrown in since Hailey left their little found family eight or so years ago without an explanation so there’s that! There’s palpable chemistry between Jesse and Hailey and I loved the banter among them when they were together with Cash. That being said, I’m really looking forward to reading Cash and Reese’s story! I highly recommend this author if you’re a romantic suspense reader because she has a convincing and believable way of writing her characters. I’m grateful to have been given the opportunity through NetGalley to read an advance copy of this book.
Great kick off for a new series. There are great characters. An intriguing mystery. Sexy romance. This one kept me engaged. I couldn't read fast enough. I was invested in Hailey and Jesse. As well as Easton and Cash. I'm looking forward to this series continuing. There are a lot of intriguing characters to enjoy.
This is about four teens who formed a family unit while in foster care. They were everything to each other. When Hailey leaves them to join the Marines it left the others broken hearted and confused. Jesse was never going to get over loosing the woman he loved. Nine years later, he still loves Hailey and he comes face to face with her. They are coming together to find Easton, since he was kidnapped. Will this be their chance to reunite and pickup where they left off? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and KR Press for the E ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
4.5 Stars. This was an excellent start to this spin off series. Hailey used to be in foster care and where she met her found family in Easton, Cash and Jesse. Hailey and Jesse dated, but she felt Jesse was destined for greatness and that she would only hold him back, so she joined the military and pretty much ghosted them. Now Easton has been kidnapped and Hailey will do anything to help rescue him, even if it means working in close proximity with Jesse.
This book has one of my favorite tropes, which is found family and you can tell how strong the love is with Hailey, Jesse, Easton and Cash. I think the book focuses more on Hailey and Jesse's second chance romance instead of the suspense angle, but both are prominent. I was engrossed in the story and finding out what happened with Easton while also rooting for Hailey and Jesse to get together. Also Katie does what she does best and gave us sprinkles of the couple for the next book and I am so pumped. I need Cash and Reeses story like yesterday! Also one of my FAVORITE characters ever was in this book and that automatically added 32493849328 bonus points.
I've read some of Redemption Harbor, but not every book and I could still follow this story fine. Overall, I really enjoyed and now I can't wait for book 2!
