I enjoyed reading Fighting for Hailey, very much. A lot of action. Friendship that can last through everything. And a love worth fighting for. I liked how the guys have made a ton of money but still hasn't changed who they are.
I loved this story or Hailey and Jesse. Bear spray! The characters (family) were really endearing and the complexity of the plot was great. Loved Jesse's "all in attitude". I'm hoping to see Cash fall next. I enjoyed this story.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
The first book in a suspense romance series that I devoured
When I found out that there was going to be a spin-off of the Redemption Harbor series, I was SO happy ! I loved the Robin Hood side of the badass military agency and it's that same atmosphere that we have here =)
What I particularly liked :
- the plot which was fascinating ! I loved the whole mystery surrounding Easton's kidnapping ! Who kidnapped him ?? For what ??
- the characters that I loved ! All badasses but endearing and with humor =) And it was so good to see old characters again =D
- the romance that was TO DIE FOR ! I love second chance romances and teenage best friends then lovers who reunite years after being separated because of a secret ... I loved seeing them get back together =) (special mention for the excerpts of old letters sent =D)
I can't wait to read the next book , especially with Reese and probably Cash =D
In short, a suspense romance that can be read with great pleasure and which marks the start of a new series that promises a lot =)
This was another really good Katie Reus story. Hailey had been in foster care, with Jesse, Cash and Easton but ghosted them about 8 years ago. She had been sleeping with Jesse but thought she would hold him back, so she went into the service. The three guys wrote to her all the time but she never answered. When Easton is kidnapped, she came to town to find him. She worked for a cyber security company and had mad skills on a computer. Easton was developing a cure for ALS and that was probably why he was kidnapped. All of her team, the two guy sand Hailey worked around the clock to find him. Lots of drama, some romance , people doing shady things and corrupt politicians. A very good story
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review
Loved, loved, loved. This was a great start to the new Redemption Harbor Security. This is a second chance romance between Hailey and Jesse and their fight to find their kidnapped friend. I really enjoyed the relationship she has with her foster brothers Cash and Easton and her coworkers Reese and Ezekiel. I really liked being able to get the bad guys point of view every once in awhile. I highly recommend! I can't wait for Reese's book next.
I just reviewed Fighting for Hailey by Katie Reus. #FightingforHailey #NetGalley
A cute book by an author who always delivers, Fighting for Hailey is more second-chance romance than suspense. Yes, there are a few moments of peril, but it never quite gets the heart pounding.
This book is the start of a spinoff series (Redemption Harbor), and while it can be read just fine as a standalone, there are several crossovers from and references to that original series. I've read a ton of Reus but not Redemption Harbor, but I didn't have problems following.
So among the tropes, in addition to second chances and suspense, we've got the not-good-enough-for-you, found family, and former foster siblings thing going on. Every so often, a chapter features letters the three guys sent to Hailey when she was serving overseas, and it's a sweet glimpse into how much faith they have in her.
What I did find a little off was that Jesse never went to see her after she returned to the States and started working for the security company. What was he waiting for? Clearly, he hadn't given up. Further, Hailey's reasons for leaving nearly a decade before aren't new or original, even the extra bit she carried. I was hoping for maybe a little more there.
But they were all adorable characters who were easy to root for. And I'm very interested in Cash. Jesse is a great hero, but I suspect Cash will be even better since he seems more complex.
I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
This has action, mystery and some angst. I loved Hailey who is her own mix of alpha female, a little wounded and funny. Jesse is alpha and has a huge heart. The writing is great. I finished the book with a smile on my face. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
Fighting for Hailey was a quick read and the plot moved just as quick. I was invested in Easton being rescued just as much as the rekindled romance between the two main characters. I enjoyed all the characters and really hated the antagonists.
Fast-paced action and intrigue that doesn't quit. Lost love, lost friends, lost selves all come to a head to rescue a kidnapped scientist. Red herrings, twists, politics, secrets, and strained relationships all come into play as the clock ticks. And yes, slow to hot burn keeps things spicy. Totally worth the read.
Fighting for Hailey (Redemption Harbor Security Book 1) Katie Reus
More Redemption Harbor who wouldn't love it. This is Jesse and Hailey's story but it is also Cash and Easton's they were in foster care together and are "family". Hailey ghosted them years ago - she thought for their good - especially Jesse. Easton has be kidnapped and they are back together working to find him. There is angst, danger, misunderstandings, evil, suspense, rediscovered feelings, plenty of steam, some laughs and tears, and a great story all to get us to a very HEA. I can't wait for more.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Witty Action-packed Haunting Easy-to-read Great world building Scary Page-turner Informative Romantic Happily Ever After Unpredictable Steamy Wonderful characters Tear-jerker Entertaining.
Again Katie has developed characters you will adore. Hailey, Jesse, Cash & Easton feel like old friends as you get to know them. The bond & banter is splendid. I really loved the fact that despite the circumstances there was just continued love & no bitterness or anger that overshadowed. The sweet venerable ways they figure their feelings & solve the suspense was brilliant. Read it!
Suspenseful and emotive from the very start. Friendship with deep bonds and unresolved issues brings us a riveting and powerful story.
Life is hard. Romance novels should be an escape of sweet proportions. Katie writes them exactly that way.
No, I’m won’t say how or what happens.., but this book is a hug that lasts as long as you read/remember it.
Hailey grew up in foster care and at one of the homes she meets three guys ( Jesse, Cash and Easton ) who become her family. She joins the marines and leaves them all behind. After she gets out she goes to work for Redemption Harbor Consulting. She moves and opens Redemption Harbor Security part of the Consulting company. Her and her team goes to Virginia for a job and that's where all her guys live. But one of them, Easton, gets kidnapped and Hailey goes all Rambo on them.
Jesse made an app for military officers to help them transition after leaving the military. He has been in love with Hailey for years but she left him and he hasn't seen her in nine years. Jesse doesn't plan to let her go again but Hailey is afraid if he finds out the truth about her, he won't want her. But first they have to find Easton and put the bad guys away.
First book in a new series and you don't want to miss it! Second chance at love. Action. Sex. Two people who grew up rough and made successes out of the lives. I loved it! Can't wait for Cash's story or I hope he has one.

This is the first book in a new series and it is a great start. The main characters are a group who grew up in foster care and consider themselves family. When one of them is kidnapped they come together to find him. There is suspense and tension from the first age. The ending is predictable, but the book is still enjoyable. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced copy.
Loved this book!!! This is the first book in a new series , and it is off to a fantastic start! Ifelk in love with characters. all who grew up together in foster care. Hailey is a free spirit who ran away from her friends when her life took an unexpected detour. However, they don't forget about her and keep reaching out. When one of them is kidnapped, she'll do anything to find him
This novel is filled with twists and turns, but mostly with heart as a former couple is forced to work together and face their past.
Fans of the genre will love this book. While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel. Fans of the author will enjoy the cameo appearance of some characters from h er Redemption Harbour series.
Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.
