I can't tell you enough how much I love Rona's book and, as soon as I saw this one available on Audio, I had to get it! I have it on my Kindle and as a signed copy and as I love audio, this was the final push to get me to read it!

I have read every (bar 2) twisty book she has ever written and this was her debut - what a way to introduce yourself! This story of Natalie and her plight to return to her son was addictive! I couldn't believe how deep this betrayal went! And jeez one of the deaths *shudder* even back then Rona's mind was dark dark dark!! But secretly I love that she can still shock me after all this time!

The story is a sad one, a hard one and a shocking one. To have your life cruelly ripped away because of one person, and for a rarity - to be innocent. We have to watch Natalie try to piece it all back together again. To watch her understand what the heck went wrong, and all she wants is her boy. It was intense, someone was stalking her - we know this from the chapters from an unknown quantity. But we have an idea who, because of Natalie's idea of who it might be. We have chapters from the past and the present, and everything pieces together so slowly! It wasn't until the meet-up near the end that I realised I was so wrong as to who was behind it all, and I wished I had seen it earlier!! Such a stinger!!

I really enjoyed this one, it was narrated perfectly, but I was impatient and kept flitting to the Kindle book! What an adventure!

Wow - this book had me going from page one. I thought the hubby was a piece of work to begin with and thought man how could this happen to her. Kept reading and was like lost on how this could happen. As a mom, I would go to the ends of Earth to protect my child which this made me connect to Natalie instantly. Natalie was desperate to get her son back after being locked away for a crime she had no memory of and didn't commit. I was immediately blaming her hubby since his behavior became very closed off and not willing to help her get to the truth to the claims of her wrongdoing. Her husband not only cut her off but divorced her, and took her son, Harry.
In the facility she was sent to it was found that she was taking medication that she clearly was unaware she was taking, again I am thinking her husband is sick and awful. Then the there was the friend in lock up who has a side business and saw Natalie as a mark. So many crazy side stories that kept me guessing.

I like how the book was written in then - Natalie's time in jail and now narrated by Natalie hunting for Harry and a mystery narrator who is following Natalie after her release. Which was well done and kept me wanting more from each viewpoint. I love how she met the performer on the ferry and how he became a very important to the story. I love how the he friend accidently ran into her and gaslit her about being there.... foreshadow much? I didn't see if yet.....

The pace of this book was so good and I didn't want to put it down. We lost power due to storms so candles were found and I finished in one sitting. Bravo Rona Halsall - great book and look forward to reading more of your work. Keep Reading and find your next adventure...

Thank you to NetGalley for the copy of this book for a fair honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This book was twisted! Natalie was so wronged by so many people because she was so naive. I loved how this story was set up with chapters taking place now between Natalie and the person hunting her and the chapters with flashbacks to Natalie in prison. The way the story was structured really added to the thrill of the events in the book and made the book gripping.

I was looking for a psychological thriller when I ran across Keep You Safe. The book tells the story of Natalie who is wrongly imprisoned for a crime she didn’t commit. Upon release from prison, she is on a quest to be reunited with her son and find out who really sent her to prison.
While the story sounded right up by alley, it fell short by a lot.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

Natalie Wilson is married, works with her husband in a finance company and is a young mother. When she is arrested for a financial crime that she doesn’t remember committing, Natalie is obviously upset. Natalie is devastated about not being with her young son after she was convicted and sentenced. The story begins with her getting out of prison and on a ferry searching for her son and switches between her days in prison and her trying to find her son. Unfortunately, I listened to the audiobook, and it never fully drew me in. I found my thoughts wandering and I kept losing my place in the storyline. I did guess some of the twists at the end. It looks like the title of this book changed from Guilty Little Secrets when it was originally published in 2018. I was really hoping to like this one more, it just didn’t do it for me.

Rona Halsall easily became a favorite author once I ran across her books. When I saw the audio version of this available, I jumped at the opportunity to listen to it.

One day Natalie is a stressed out new mom to a baby boy living in the safety of her home with her husband. The next day, Natalie is framed for a crime she didn't commit. Based on the advice from her less-than-involved lawyer, she pleads guilty in exchange for a shorter sentence which ends up being over three years. At no point does her husband reach out or help her.

While in prison, Natalie is taken in by another inmate who offers her protection. Having no idea how to navigate prison life, Natalie hesitantly accepts the help.

Once Natalie is released, she is a new woman with new skills. She is bound and determined to track her husband down and finally see the son she hasn't seen since the night she was arrested.

I was hooked pretty quickly and really enjoyed listening to how the story unfolded. It switched back and forth from Natalie's time in prison and her search for her son. Both points of view were intriguing, making me want to keep listening.

While this book has already been released, it will be re-released January 10th. Fans of Halsall and domestic thrillers won't want to miss out on this one!

Thank you to NetGalley, Rona Halsall, and Bookoutre for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook in exchange for a candid review.

I loved this audiobook that I got to listen to from NetGalley! It kept me on my toes the whole time!

Natalie is imprisoned for a crime she thinks she did not commit. But her mind isn’t very clear, so she is not sure what is going on. Even her husband has left her. But why?
Finally she is released from prison a bit early and sets off to find her son, who is preschool aged now and who may be in danger. But who is the threat to him? And who is really in Natalie’s side? She has old friends and meets some new ones, but who can she trust, if anyone to help her?
This is actually the second book I got to listen to by this author, and I loved both of the books.
The narrator was good—I listen to my audiobooks at 1.5x speed, and even with a British accent, she was easy to understand.
I highly recommend this book or audiobook to anyone who loves thrillers with twists that keep you guessing!

Thank you Netgalley, Rona Halsall and Bookouture Audio for this audio Arc of Keep you safe.

Really enjoyed this Psychological thriller By Rona Halsall. Sarah Durham narrated this one and I loved her voice., Although I did find with this book I needed to speed the audio up slightly. Mainly because I felt that the pace of the book and the voice didn't quite match for me. Otherwise, Sarah Durham has a great story telling voice and have had a look at more books that she has narrated.

The pace of Keep you safe was medium, a nice build up throughout the book from the POV of Natalie and 1st person. The storyline, especially for parents will definitely be relatable, The drive to find and be with your child drives you to experience everything and anything. Even if you read this and not a parent, you will find it very compelling and experience the eagerness of how and why Natalie is so desperate to see her son and get her life back.

The little twists and turns were great and kept me completely engaged and the pay off at the end of the book was a good mix of tension, doubt and betrayal.

I'll be looking to read more of Rona's books in the future!

Natalie Wilson is arrested for stealing over a million dollars from a client at her husbands finance company.
She has no memory of the theft, as well as the multiple online shopping sprees her husband keeps complaining about.
With her questioning everything she's being told that she has done since her son was born she feels like she is going crazy.

Keep you Safe follows Natalie Before, During & After prison. Her determination to get her son back and find out the truth.
This phycological thriller will keep you wondering, Who can she trust, who believes her, & who is betraying her.
Thank you to Net Galley & Bookouture Audio for the advance listeners copy of my first Rona Halsall book.

This is my second Rona Halsall novel, and I'll now count myself as a fan. Keep You Safe follows a mom desperate to get her son back after her time in jail. But she finds herself confused about who she can trust in her new life and finding her son seems to slip further and further away. The story is told in past and present timelines, is fairly predictable and has a few too many convenient coincidences for my taste, but overall it was still an enjoyable listen.

This was ridiculously good: every time I kept thinking I’d worked it out I was wrong. Loved the characters, loved the plot

I listened to this on audiobook.

This has been a very entertaining story with some pretty intense moments, lots going on. The story was well written with some good interesting characters, a couple of whom you weren’t sure whether to trust or not at the outset, so had me guessing and wondering for some parts of the story. Although there was one character that I had a bad feeling about and turns out ai was right to.

The narrator Sarah Durha was new to me, don’t think I’ve listened to anything of hers to date. But I liked her, thought she did a great job with all of the characters, giving them a unique voice throughout.

I did feel sorry for Natalie at times, all that she had to go through with no real help from anyone, not even the legal system. There was plenty of action throughout, not to mention drama.

I’ll definitely be looking forward to reading/listening to more of this authors books in the future.

A gripping psychological thriller that keeps you listening until the end. The length a mother’s love could go the save her child’s life and the feel of betrayal for the people you trust the most. The narrators makes an excellent with the pace of the story and the emotions involving the characters.

Not for readers with high blood pressure!! 🤣 this book had me STRESSING over fictional characters, Natalie can’t seem to catch a break but she’s not making the wisest choices either. You never know who you can trust…

The pacing of this book got a bit frustrating with the back and forth between then and now, I found myself getting annoyed at the cliffhanger chapters between the timelines but that’s just me being impatient. I liked the narrator a lot, I would give this 3.5 stars.

I listened to Keep You Safe by Rona Halsall in about 24 hours, so clearly I was entertained and wanted to find out what happened with Natalie and .Harry.

Natalie is a new mother to baby, Harry, and she is accused of embezzling money. She pleads with her husband and the police, insisting that she is innocent.

The court finds Natalie guilty, and she is put in prison. While in prison, Natalie yearns for her baby boy. At this point, her husband has cut her off, and she has no communication with him or her son. After three long years, she is released from prison and on a mission to find her son, who she thinks is in danger.

This was an entertaining listen. I listened to it quickly at 1.5x pace and didn’t miss a beat. The narrator, Sarah Durham, did a wonderful job.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the advanced listen in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

3.5 ⭐️s, rounded to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was a good read (well, I guess listen as I had the audiobook). I struggled with the story jumping from then to now with a mystery narrator, but only a few times I had to rewind to catch something i missed. I also wasn't a fan of the main character--she felt a bit dense. I did enjoy the book as a whole, the narrator was great, and it had a nice twist (that I hadn’t caught on to as others did).

Thank you to NetGalley, Rona Halsall, and Bookouture Audio for graciously sending me the audiobook to review.

Keep You Safe has a great plot that had me hooked from the beginning. The story follows a young mother who was wrongly imprisoned for a crime she didn't commit. In the 3 years she was there, her husband disappeared with their 8 month old son. Not telling her where there were going.

My heart ached for Natalie. Her sole purpose upon her release was to find her little boy. And as a mother myself, I was with her every step of the way.

The story switches between "pre incarceration" and present-day explaining her arrest and then her present hunt for her child and dealing with a mysterious pursuer.

Who is this mysterious person?

These chapters were so exciting and action-packed, and the audio contributed immensely to the book.

Halsall knows how to build up suspense layer upon layer, keeping the reader engaged, and I would never have guessed this is her debut novel! It's a little more predictable than her more recent releases, but a great read all the same.

My favorite book by Rona is The Bigamist, and I can't wait to read more of her books in the future.
Thanks to Netgally and Bookature Audio for the arc.

3.5 rounded up
I definitely liked the way the book was written and thought the character development was great, but I figured out the ending pretty early on and I think there was a major plot hole with the main character not having seen or heard anything about her “famous” husband in the years she was imprisoned. Even when she got out, she didn’t look him up or have someone else look him up online? That would’ve cleared things up pretty quickly.

As for the audiobook format, I enjoyed the narrator, but did have some trouble figuring out when she was going back to the past and when she was talking about the present.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

For me, this was pretty disappointing. I recently read another one of Rona Halsall's books "Love You Gone" and it was everything you could ask for in a thriller. So when this book was offered to me to review I jumped on it, but I cannot say this book was nearly as engaging or thrilling.
The story begins with intrigue as Mom of baby Harry is arrested and is forced to serve 4 years in prison for a crime she did not commit. Now fresh out of prison she is determined to get her son back and figure out who set her up....which leads to her life being at risk.
The story flashes back and forth between Present and Past. There was nothing that kept my interest and I found myself trying to rush through the book because I pretty much called the "bad guy" from the beginning and kept wanting to shout at Natalie for how blind she was to the whole situation. It was predictable, long winded and just did not hold my attention.
One thing that kept bothering me over and over was Natalie would remember her child that she ultimately was separated from when he was about 6 months. The way she would remember things or talk about him was like he was a 6 year old child. It just didn't jive.

I am sad to say this book did not work for me. I would like to read more by this author because I really liked the previous book I read by her.

Thank you NetGalley and Rona Halsall for the opportunity to review this advanced audiobook . I was not paid or influenced for this review.
