Sadly this was not for me, did not read it all. I could not connect to the story. I am not sure because it was last in a series but for me this book was not it. Would recommend maybe read from book 1 then get to this one.
Time can affect so many aspects of our life as in this story but true love can survive even the traumas that test it.
This was a great book. I connected with the characters. I felt engrossed with the plot. I would read another book by this author.
Skye flies from Dublin to the English seaside of Borteen, to meet her father, whom she has literally never met. His name is Buzz, and we find out that he runs the local crystal shop and his story is a really fascinating one! I enjoyed getting to know more about him and also his past.
She also meets the ultimate & amazingly attractive guy next door, Adam, who shows her that she can have room in her life for real love, and he plans on showing her just that.
I love how fast paced this was and light-hearted the romance was, while still obviously being very cute. While this is book 7 in a series and I feel like it could be read as a standalone, you might miss out on some key characters and information that was spoken about in the previous books. I loved the dual POV's, second chance romance and overall the light-hearted feel I got while reading this entire book. The characters are likeable and the story is so cozy.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for this wonderful ARC! :)
This was such a good for your soul and warm/cozy read. Perfect read for winter with a cup of coffee. I didn’t realize this was a series so I definitely will go back and read the others. This book was relatable and a quick easy read. Very sweet
Overall I think this was a nice, easy weekend book. It did feel very slow at times, and disjointed at others. There was so much going on, but it was all slow to resolve. It also felt more like a general fiction book rather than a romance. The romance aspect was a really small part of the story and didn't feel realistic enough for me to buy into it at all.
As soon as I read the blurb for this book I knew it was for me, I really wanted to love this book! I will say I did enjoy the story line, however I struggled with the quick change in character POV with no clear way of differentiating between them apart from a line in the book, no name like in other multi POV books I have read.
Despite this, it was a good story and a cosy read even though there was a lot going on it was an easy story line to follow.
This book was slow in the starting, I was bored, throughout this book. I think it was a decent enough book.
Thanks to netgalley for this book.
This was a nice, light read which counterbalanced the other book I was reading that was very serious. This was about a couple, both of whom are unconventional, who split up and are brought back together. They have a young adult daughter who did learns that she does not know if the man she thought was her father was, in fact, her father. She then learns she is pregnant herself. The story is about this family coming together in Borteen Bay, a lovely place where I would like to live in the UK.
I give this 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. The characters are a little less believeable than they could be and there are a few too many coincidences. However, sometimes this is exactly what is called for. However, there were a few places where the story got a bit slow and there could have been a little bit of tightening of the prose to make it flow a little better.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book got off to a slow start, but it picked up from there and I really enjoyed it!
I wish i could say i enjoyed this book. But it was not my cup of tea at all. There was way too much going on, with four different pov and they were all in the same chapter. Not separated at all. Plus we had way too much going on with the two different couples. This could have possibly been better if Morton did maybe two novella with the each couple getting together at different times. But the couples were extremely rushed! The guy asked her to marry him within maybe 4 conversations! Then he got mad she said no! Like my word! 🤦🏽♀️ plus the main character didn’t even truly get time with her dad. Which i thought was the whole point of the book. It was all over the place.
I do want to thank net galley, the publisher and author for the arc though.

I think everyone has books that are for them and some books that are not and this is just one of those books that are not for me.
I feel it was written in a very old timey fashion that i could not get into. the way the characters interacted and talked to each other just did not seem genuine at all. I did not feel a connection between them.
in a way i feel this book jumped all over the place. i never really knew what direction it was going in and there was a lot of spots in this book that felt like the author was writing an essay and needed to fill up a word count. i don’t know how many times you can repeat the same thing over and over but phrase it differently.
I think another reason i did not like this book is because the characters are older and i simply can not relate to them. there’s lots of POVs in this book through all the characters but even the younger characters i couldn’t relate to.
Now if you love a second chance romance this book may be for you. or if you want to read about older characters i would recommend this.
I never force myself to finish books i’m not enjoying and i would be lying to say i liked this book. this isn’t a dog at the author or her writing because it seems for the right people this would be something super interesting.
The main plot of the story from what i can tell so far is a girl leaving husband for reasons that could have been talked about. i feel she over reacted and they could of had a happy thing between them.
also they say history repeats itself but gosh 3 generations of women doing the same thing? not for me.
it’s cute seeing a family coke back together and to work through things together but they feel distant at the same time.
This was a quick and easy read for me. I didn't read the other books in the series before this one. From reading it, the other books were not prevalent in this book. I was a little lost at points due to the lack character development and how they all tie into the story. Overall it was an enjoyable quick read!
Thank you NetGalley and Joffe Books for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest opinion. Thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This is a family orientated romantic read, set in a coastal, close-knit community where the pace of life is slower and people value each other more than money or advancement in a fast-paced career. It is perfect escapism where you can observe a family righting the mistakes they made in the past, whilst sub-characters also get their chance at finding romance. Although an easy read, it does tackle some difficult subjects. It seems everyone has an inner battle to conquer and we, the reader, are there to watch them every step (or misstep) they make.
A New Arrival in Borteen Bay was a really cute story and an easy read! I just wish it had a little bit more depth. If you’re looking for a light, quick romance read, this is it.
I enjoyed returning to the enchanting setting of Borteen Bay and spending time in the company of Buzz, Skye and Adam. While Adam’s actions sometimes seemed impetuous, I felt this was explained as I discovered more about his character and motivation. For me, Buzz was the real star of the story, emerging as a compelling figure with his poignant creation of a daily labyrinth on the beach, only for it to be erased by the tide - encapsulating both the fragility of life and the enduring spirit of optimism (something he certainly embodies). As the characters come together, the narrative weaves their individual stories, creating a tapestry of resilience, healing, and acceptance. It's a lovely, gentle read to cosy up with on a cold evening.
I really wanted to enjoy this book more but I struggled getting through it. Like a lot of readers already stated, the characters did not resonate with me. I don’t have much to say about this one aside from the fact that I’m glad it wasn’t too long. It is a quick read so I would say still worth a shot since there are still a handful of people who enjoyed it.
This was a fairly quick read, which I needed after reading some lengthy books, however, I didn’t connect with this one. I enjoyed the description, and I love the premise, but there was something about the characters that didn’t really resonate with me. It took me some time to get into the story, and I’m glad that I made it to the end.
The pacing is lovely as it moves the story along very well. The setting is nice, and it was nice to see how everything fits together. I loved seeing Skye’s story, but I wish things felt a little more believable.
Overall a good cute story, took quite awhile for me to get into the story and build an interest in the characters. A lot of the behaviors didn’t seem realistic. By the end I was smiling and happy with this story I read.
This was a brilliant read. What a great story. Skye went to find her birth father in Borteen Bay and all sorts of different and lovely things happen. I love the crystal shop and the beach. A beautiful feel good read. Made you tingle. Just read it. Ace ending.
