Touching heart warming book mainly around best friends and friends through life.
Lise and Emma had been best friends from nursery school living a few doors from each other in Bath. As their relationship grows over the years and the girls enjoy their teenage years and then their time after university making their way in their worlds from two very different families, they fall out, can they ever mend their friendship.
Well laid out over the different timelines, lovely characters, great backgrounds of Bath and Paris cities, all the aspects of love and life.
Really enjoyed reading this one it’s a strong 4stars for me. Took me a few pages to get into the story and the writing and well worth it!
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood books for the early read.
Lise has returned to her hometown after a long period for a funeral.
She is wanting to reconnect with her friend after falling out sixteen years before.
A story about friendships and regrets.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
This story follows best friends Emma and Lise on a journey of love, adventure, family, and heart break. They grew up in Honeybee, neighbors and different lives; but that never deterred their friendship. Their bond was unbreakable; until one night in Paris changed that. This story will make you laugh, happy, and sometimes, a bit frustrated. Once you find out what happened in Paris, you want to scream at them for letting that get in the way of a once beautiful friendship. But the ending will make you happy. So many unexpected reveals that will have you with your jaw open. This is well written and you really start to feel for both Emma and Lise. Very happy with this book!
I devoured this book in one sitting, I had to know what happened! I have read many of this author's books before and I felt like this one had a bit more bite - I loved the cliffhanger that it felt like every chapter ended on, waiting to find out what happened. Excellent writing and storytelling, I will definitely be recommending this when it is released.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read The Year that Changed Us by Helen Rolfe, a warm hearted story about community and friendship.
A warm-hearted and gripping story of community, secrets and the family we choose that will captivate you from chapter one! If this doesn’t speak perfection I don’t know what does!… I was so delighted with the warm fuzzy feeling this book left me with
A wonderful story with great characters thar I enjoyed getting to know.
I devoured this book in one evening. It was a cut and fun read that kept me turning the pages.
Excellent writing from new to me author that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Emma and Annalise made me laugh at times and others my heart broke for them. I thought that Emma did take it a little too far though. Her example is reason why we need to forgive so we don't become bitter.
I admired Annalise for trying however and her determination as well.
Story is great and as. I said earlier I loved every minute of it.
5 stars for a well written story. I highly recommend.
My thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
