My son is a big baseball fan, so I like to get him books that teach him new facts about the sport or simply are about it. He loved this book and enjoyed learning about so many different players who have made it to the Hall of Fame. Highly engaging for a child even though is not the main audience. My son loved the stats and learned a few new facts about players and teams he didnt know before.

I was expecting more on the Hall's artifacts rather than a catalog of Baseball's best players, but still a good and engaging read.

Thanks to James Buckley, Quarto Publishing Group and Netgalley for access to the advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

For me, baseball is all about memories – individually and collectively. Those “remember when” moments that we all share. This book is full of such memories – of players we remember and those we wish we had had a chance to see.

The book is organized by position and provides a short description of the accomplishments of each member of the hall of fame. It also provides a short history of the establishment of the hall of fame.

Recommended for baseball fans everywhere and will likely be a best seller at the hall of fame itself.

"The National Baseball Hall of Fame Collection: Celebrating the Game's Greatest Players" by James Buckley is a tribute to the sport and its legendary players, making it a perfect addition to any baseball fan's library.

Buckley weaves together biographies, statistics, and photos, chronicling the greats of American baseball. Organized by position, then by player, you can choose to read this cover to cover, or dip in and out, sampling favorite stars or bits of trivia.

This is an update to the previous edition from the Baseball Hall of Fame and the layout makes it an ideal coffee table book or gift - especially for those who have not yet had the opportunity to see the memorabilia at Cooperstown in person.

[Reader’s Note: The Advanced Reader Copy I was graciously provided was a digital version, not the full format version and the final corrected proof. This proved a bit of a challenge, as there were some formatting issues that are unique to this specific situation. I am unable to say whether the final published digital version of this book will present some of the same challenges.

Personally, I would purchase the physical format of this book for myself first. The photos, sidebars, layout, and copy really work beautifully as a whole and lose a bit of the experience and wow factor when condensed down to fit the window of my 11” iPad.

That being said, it’s possible the published version of this book will have a digital version geared specifically for e-readers that makes both experiences equally enjoyable.]

This book is an enjoyable for those who love history or baseball. It happens that my family and I enjoy both! The book is organized by positions/roles such as pitchers, infields, managers, etc. The stories are interesting and the photos are fantastic. I will be buying a hardback of this book for to gift to a couple of baseball lovers in my life.

Thanks to Netballsy and Epic Ink for this galley.

My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and author James Buckley for the opportunity to review an ARC of this book.

If you are a baseball fan, and in particular if you have an appreciation for baseball history, then you will like this book which is all about Cooperstown and the members of Baseball's Hall of Fame. This is not a book per se with chapters that you read in order. It would best be described in my opinion as a coffee table book. There are sections devoted to the various positions in baseball (e.g., pitcher, catcher), accompanied by stories and photographs about the most famous players as well as a listing of other players in the Hall.

It is one of these books that fans can revisit over and over again. The author did a very good job compiling this information with numerous factoids and tidbits of information, particularly about the early days of baseball.

You will savor this book if you are a fan.

The perfect book for a baseball fan! I am more familiar with the modern baseball players and have heard about some of the more famous old ones (Babe Ruth etc) but it was nice to read more about the older players who made their name as a baseball hero back in the day.
