Sophie and West have a history. It's messy, complicated, tragic and only after seven years have they just about learned to tolerate each other's company within their friendship group. And yet, when widowed Sophie finds herself in a situation where she really needs a fake fiance, West is the one she turns to.
Although not obligatory, it helps to have read the entire series before this one. Sophie and West's story has been hinted at throughout the previous four books, and not only do we get that full tale here in teased-out flashbacks, but there are also reminders of the earlier instalments through the banter in the group scenes - all of which are very funny and one of the major highlights of the book. Sophie is stubborn almost to a fault, but that aside I liked how they (eventually) dealt with their issues, both with each other and with external factors. Full of sharp wit and memorable characters both major and minor, this is a very satisfying conclusion to a series that has continued to get better and better.

This has got to be among one the best regency romance books I've read.
I absolutely adored Sophie and Wes, though at times I wished Sophie would vocalise her true feelings much sooner. I understood her reasonings I just thought any issues or worries with marrying Wes would've been sold if she just told him the truth. Because we all know Wes is that man and my goodness is he understanding and willing to fight 😭
I liked the tension that was built up in the book, it really kept the pacing and intrigue on what will happen next going.
I love the friendship group, I love how they all get each other, aren't afraid to tease and joke together. I think it makes this book so much more enjoyable.

Besides the fact that I think their story was made unnecessarily complicated (like, please talk for 30 minutes and don't stay away from each other for years) - this read was very enjoyable. I liked that it's an NA story and loved the characters! They felt so real and it was everything you wish for.

An enjoyable regency romp filled with a stubborn, caring heroine, a sensitive yet persistent hero, and sneaky minor characters. There are descriptive sex scenes, so this isn’t for under 18s, but the rest of the story is both sweet and gripping. It was interesting to see how it turned out with the hero’s father, and that was a great turn of events, and the ending was quite realistic as it wasn’t the perfect HEA but was still a HEA.

I enjoyed reading this as I had been intrigued by West and Sophie’s story since the very first book in this series. As satisfying as it was to see these two reconcile, however, I didn’t find the circumstances keeping them apart for seven years after the initial rupture all that convincing - it felt like one simple conversation could have settled things years beforehand and it didn't seem altogether in keeping with the characters to not have that conversation. The structure of the storytelling, with chronologically progressing flashbacks eventually revealing ‘secrets’ kept from the reader up to that point, didn’t quite work for me either, probably because many of the reveals felt either predictable or underwhelming in their import.
Still, To Woo and to Wed is a lovely conclusion to the Regency Vows and gives us satisfying glimpses of the couples from the first four books alongside the long-awaited HEA for West and Sophie.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the eARC, which I very much appreciated.

Three and a half stars.
Sophie, Lady Fitzwilliam Bridewell, is a widow and the eldest of five daughters, three of whom are happily wed, the fourth of whom, Alexandra, is also a widow. When Sophie realises that Alexandra has found love with someone but is putting off getting married because she doesn't want Sophie to be lonely, Sophie realises she must take action, after all as the eldest it is practically her job to ensure her sisters' happiness.
Seven years ago, before her marriage, Sophie was in love with the Marquess of Weston, and he with her. But because Sophie's mother was from a wealthy merchant family rather than the ton, West's father was against the match and blackmailed/threatened Sophie. Sophie and West have been avoiding each other ever since, but their recent sojourn in Cornwall with Viscount Penvale and his new bride Jane has thawed the ice somewhat. So Sophie concocts a plan, since her sisters believe she still holds a torch for West, she will persuade him to enter into a fake engagement which they can cancel once Alexandra and her beau are happily married.
After a fatal carriage racing accident which killed his best friend, West has been lamed. He blames himself for his friend's death, and was devastated when the woman he loved married a mutual friend while West was still recovering from his injuries. Now his only joy is thwarting his father's succession plans, to which ends he had led his father to believe that his accident had made him incapable of fathering a child (ie an heir). Now his father has learned the truth and his threatening to sell West's late mother's estate unless West gets married. Whilst initially resistant to Sophie's madcap plan, he sees that an engagement to a woman his father deems unsuitable whilst fulfilling his father dictat to marry would be delicious revenge.
However, Alexandra is a schemer and soon inveigles Sophie into agreeing to have a joint wedding, where the grooms will arrive, on white horses no less *horror*. As the hoax continues Alexandra's demands become increasingly unhinged, but Sophie can't say no. In the interim, West has decided that he will use this opportunity to renew his courtship of Sophie, seven years have passed and he has never felt a fraction of the love he felt for Sophie for any other woman.
I recently read the previous book in this series,To Swoon and to Spar, and enjoyed it so when I saw this available as an ARC I jumped at the chance. Unfortunately, some of the issues I had with the previous book, but overlooked, felt a bit more jarring in this book. Whilst there are half-hearted attempts at chaperoning Sophie and Alexandra, they also have an intimate dinner with West and Alexandra's fiancé which just would not have been permitted. Similarly, when Sophie and West first meet they are alone together which could have led to Sophie being compromised. I know these are modern takes on historical romances but there seem to be some inconsistencies around the way in which Sophie and West being left alone is viewed compared to when one of Sophie's younger sister's is viewed when she is found alone with a young man.
My other gripe is that I found it hard to understand Sophie's reluctance to marry West.
But anyone who knows my reviews knows I focus on the negatives, overall I enjoyed this novel, although I found the four other couples quite difficult to distinguish between which was not such an issue in the previous book I read.
I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review.

Really enjoyable!
To Woo and To We’d by Martha Waters is a great second chance romance between West and Sophie with a great group of other characters. I didn’t realise this was the final of a series and it makes me want to read the others, all on different couples in the friendship group. Some of the time jumps jolts me out the story abit but I feel like that’s just my personal opinion and won’t matter to others.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to have an ARC in return for an honest review.

This is the final book in the series and I've enjoyed all the other books. The series is about a group of friends and West and Sophie have been in every book so it has been leading up to their story. I'm not sure you have to have read all the other books but it definitely helps.
This is a second chance rom com. I enjoyed all the shenanigans of West and Sophie getting together. I don't particularly enjoy stories that go backwards and forwards in time, which this story does, to capture the events between the characters. Just a personal preference but it does impacts my enjoyment of the book. It's witty, enjoyable and if you've read other books in the series you'll be wanting know how West and Sophie work things out.
