This was a cute Christmas story that isn't something typical of the holiday that you see oversold through children's books. This was a unique story of Christmas that is captivating to the child. My 8 year old loved all of the characters, not just the main character which I believe is due to the great characterization and personalization of each by the author. This book is part of a collection of stories, however you do not need to read them all to enjoy this book. The illustrations and storyline were both fantastic and kept the attention of my son. Thank you NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is a great book for children that are fascinated with dragons. The language is a bit advanced for young kids, although there is a glossary at the end, and the dragon scene can be a bit scary for kids that are easily scared. Overall, my 4 year old enjoyed the unique plot to this Christmas story.
The illustrations are about the cutest ever! I love that they include word definitions & some interactive games & puzzles in the back of the book! The story itself is cute & rhyming & I like the "to the rescue" theme, but Santa & his reindeer along with the rescue crew battling an evil dragon on Christmas Eve may be a bit more frightening for some children than
what they are ready for. I like the message but have mixed feelings about how its told.
My grandchildren have now requested I read this book to them at least twice a day. They have each chosen a character to be the hero and take turns weaving the story into the magic of this season.
Daisy the deer and her friends must help save christmas!
With some christmas magic and determination they will help Santa ensure every good boy and girl gets a new toy under the tree!
This story was fun and engaging, the illustrations were bright and colorful.
My kids loved this book from beginning to end and it was easy to engage in conversation about and prompt my kids on what will happen next.
Thank you Netgalley and Publishers for this ARC for review purposes
A beautiful story with a wonderful message. Filled with marvelous and charming illustrations. Perfect as a Christmas gift for kids, since it also has a couple of games!
The digital illustrations in this picturebook are beautiful. The characters are all cute and cuddley except for Leo the Lion who has an appropriate amount of fierceness. When a dragon ambushes Santa and he and the reindeer become sick from the dragon breath, Daisy and her friends take over to deliver the presents. When the dragon attacks them, Leo braely fights it off. The illustrations of this battle are gorgous. But the cute cuddly animals and the dragon battle seem to appeal to two different age groups. The book is written in rhyme, but the word choice sometimes create awkward rhthms that don't scan.
Daisy the deer, Leo the noble lion, Felix the sly fox, Rosie the gentle rabbit and Olivia the wise owl are the characters of this 57 page children’s book.
It’s Christmas Eve when these friends hear a crash in the woods. They go running when they hear screams of help. They find Santa with his sleigh and his one reindeer. A sinister dragon attacked Santa’s sleigh. With courage and thoughts of all the children waiting for Santa, Daisy the deer takes the lead with Leo the lion and Felix the fox by her side with magic given by Santa off they go to deliver presents but are confronted by the dragon. Leo the brave lion takes on the dragon while Santa with his sleigh led by Daisy, Rosie and Felix go to do their deliveries. A great battle takes place between Leo and the dragon where Leo with his mighty roar defeats the dragon.
This is a book that’s part of a series. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful. The story shows how friendship is important and gets things done by helping each other. It’s a short magical tale with Christmas spirit.

I liked the illustrations in this book bit felt that the rhyming cadence was a bit awkward with word choice.
I love that there are activities for children to do at the end of the book.
I'm going to rate this as 4 stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC
Daisy the Deer and the Christmas Rescue Crew by Mr Sam is a children's picture book. The best part about this book is the pictures. They are full color and very detailed 3D. Very child friendly.
This is a good Christmas story with problem solving and working together to help Santa. A dragon has attacked Santa while in flight on Christmas Eve. The reindeer gets sick and crashes. Daisy the Deer and her friends, Leo the Lion, Rosie the Rabbit, Felix the Fox, and Olivia the Owl, rush to help. Rosie and Olivia stay with the reindeer and heal him. Someone must deliver the presents! Daisy the Deer hitches up to the sleigh, and Leo and Felix go with her. Santa gives them magic to fly.
The dragon attacks again, and Leo the Lion courageously fights it. Leo wins, and the others finish delivering gifts. Afterward, they have a nice Christmas together back at home.
There's an Activity section at end with a
Vocabulary page, a maze, a page to color Daisy the Deer, a Dot to dot, and a place to write a Letter to Santa. Some families might like this, but it limits the book to doing those activities just once. The lines on the pages rhyme with the next line, mostly. The vocabulary is rather advanced for very young children to understand, but they will get the main ideas from the pictures. And really, the pictures are great!
