Oh my lord.. This book❤️‍🔥
I was apprehensive about Swift and Saddled having the second book curse, but Lyla came through and dare I say, I think I loved this more than the first! The vibes were hitting and I could not put it down. I devoured it in one whole sitting!
Wes was an actual dream. The way he always put Ada first and showed her all the ways he paid attention to her and calmed her fears had me absolutely swooning. Especially him cooking the spanakopita for her when he is useless at cooking🥹 I absolutely loved watching Ada grow and become one of the family. Her having the girls night and finally feeling as though she could have the possibility of friends made my heart melt. I adored her fire and spirit from the very first chapter, and the 'How to lose a guy in 10 days" references!
Lyla, this is an absolute masterpiece and you're doing amazing sweetie. I am falling in love with every single character and I truly cannot wait to read all about Teddy and Gus the next instalment of the Rebel Blue Ranch series.

God, I love a cowboy romance. This series just keeps getting better and I'm so happy the author got a publishing deal after her great debut.

This is so aggressively black cat x golden retriever and I ate it up!! Ada was such a relatable and interesting heroine, and her relationship was Weston was so romantic I felt like I fell in love alongside her,

4.5 stars, and I really recommend checking it out.

Thanks to NetGalley, Lyla Sage and Quercus for the free e-arc. All opinions are my own (I just really enjoyed it).

This was a while heap of cuteness, I absolutely adored everything that is west and ada.

There were a few moments I found abit cliche and not the most enjoyable but overall super cute and fun.

as you can see i finished this book in literally a day. i couldn’t put it down. any chance i got to grab my phone and open the net galley app to read, i took it 🫣

one of my favourite quotes — “i see you, ada. i always see you, even when you don’t look at me” AHHHH 💖💖💖💖💖

so i haven’t read the first book and i totally wish i had before being approved for this arc because i would’ve had better context for some of the characters but it’s okay because you don’t feel lost at all! i loved every single character and their personalities. they were all so different but meshed so well together. i’ll definitely be going back to read the first book in the series.

ada and wes had my heart from the very start! i absolutely love a black cat x golden retriever vibe in a book, i eat it up. i loved how ada was a complicated character and she also just wants to be loved and be free and wes gave her that :’) wes was such a sweetheart and i just love his golden retriever vibes, he was so good to ada. i did love their conversation about the past, like ada’s divorce and wes’s depression and it wasn’t just lightly skimmed over, it was dealt with in a great way.

this story was just perfection to me. i’m absolutely obsessed with ada and wes and i can’t stop thinking about them. the perfect combination of sweet, steamy and cosy!!

new obsession? cowboys in romance novels.

read this book if you love:
💌 black cat x golden retriever
💌 city girl x country boy
💌 small town romances

There’s something so comforting about a story that even though you know where it’s going and how it’s going to end, you just know you’ll enjoy it every step of the way. And I so did with this story. The relationship between Ada and Wes is delicious, sweet and comforting. He’s a pillar of strength for her. When her instincts tell her to run, he remains stable and strong. There’s lots of sweetness, a good dose of spice and a whole lot of goodness.

The mental health rep was great, I particularly enjoyed how it was just a fact of who Wes was, not a flaw in him or an excuse for poor behaviour - it was just a fact that his brain worked differently.

I loved Ada, her prickliness, and her wanting to feel like she belonged somewhere. She may have been hesitant, but Wes just allowed her to come to her own realisations without fuss or pressure, he was always there, communicating with her then giving her the space to find herself.

Such a great book.

This made me want to leave big city life and go check out if I could live on a ranch in Wyoming instead.

Ava is an interior designer and has just been hired to work at Rebel Blue Ranch. On her first night in town, she shares a passionate kiss with a stranger at the local bar. Of course, the same stranger just so happen to be her new boss, Wes, when she shows up at the ranch the next morning. Ava is running away for her past failed marriage, focused on developing her carrier and her work at Rebel Blue is the first step towards more like this - just what she wants, so there will be no distraction. Except Wes is very distracting. He is thoughtful and nice, and supportive and patient with her, and she is a little bit afraid of relationships because of her ex, she’s only there for work and then she’ll move on to the next job, away from Blue Rebel and away from Wes…

This was just as good as Done and Dusted. The characters are well written, Wes is the most perfect in how much he wants to support Ava and be there for her, always patient. Their story is heartwarming, growing naturally and their dynamic works so well.

I had loved book 1 and I’m so happy book 2 held up to the same success. Looking forward to the next :)

A new favourite in the series! Ada and Wes are absolutely adorable and I love them together
The communication in this hit the spot, and it had the perfect small town cozy feelings

I loved the properly the same amount as the first book.
Thai is one of my favourite series, I read the first book as I was in a reading slump and it got me through it.
The love between Wes and Ada, what both of them were going through separately and how they worked together to help each other through it.

GUYS!! this book was so cute!!! I was literally giggling & kicking my feet the entire time. Swift and Saddled is the perfect small town romance with just the right amount of spice. The romance is sweet, steamy, and it just felt authentic. Ada & Wes may seem like opposites; she is the black cat to his golden retriever energy. But they balance each other so well & you can truly see how much they care about each other. The male main character was so refreshing. Wes is the sweetest/nicest boy and he would do anything for Ada. I love that the author included topics of mental health & Wes’s struggle with depression. It is rare to see that representation in male main characters and is something I wish we would see more of in books. It made the story feel real and honest.

SMALL TOWN COWBOY ROMANCES are my kryptonite. I absolutely adored Done & Dusted and I knew I needed to read this one.

This had all the charm you’d expect a small town romance with a side of boss x employee. Ada is an interior designer and she meets Wes in a bar unknowingly to her that he’s her newest client. There’s an element of instalust (not my favourite trope) which fits into the premise and builds from there. A whole lot of denial and tension later and we hit some really well done spicy scenes. This book brings back Emmy & Brooks but also gives us more of the other characters like Gus and his cute kid Riley.

There were a few things that didn’t work for me, I felt the storyline was a little choppy in areas and not fully cohesive (a character who is closed off opening up really early into the book) and there was a plot hole I’ve picked up on either (to do with an ex) which I felt could’ve bought a little more drama to the story.

A strong 3.75 star rating & I’m looking forward to the next instalment.

You know how you start reading a book, blink and suddenly it’s over? I had consumed this book in one easy reading and I really enjoyed it. The writing style flows easily, the characters have distinct voices and this is a book one can easily snuggle up with on a Friday night.

I love how certain things were handled. A character with depression but it’s not the main focus nor did it come up as a source of conflict. It’s just something a character has and is dealing with.

My only real source of criticism is a plot point that becomes unresolved. You never do find out why a certain thing happens and, to me, I find it makes the FMC’s divorce and the impact an odd part of the book. It never goes deeper than the top surface level and becomes a quick insecurity and a quick source of conflict. That’s the only bit that I felt was unfinished.

I am now beyond ready for Book 3 with this one cementing Teddy as a favourite but also seems to be a hint to book 4 and yep, sold and sold.

WHEN I SAID NOTHING COULD BEAT DONE & DUSTED…… MAN I WAS WRONG…… Swift and Saddled is pure perfection and feels like seeing a rainbow after a dark storm.* Releases 5th of March 2024*

“Swift and Saddled” by Lyla Sage is the second novel in the Rebel Blue Ranch Series. It follows Wes Ryder, a golden retriever Cowboy and pairing interior designer Ada Hart. Wes is trying to prove himself to his family by undergoing a massive restructure on the ranch's old big house. Ada is the “black cat” and is trying to prove herself in the interior design industry by undertaking this big project to gain more clients in the future. When Ada arrives in Meadowlark, Wyoming she finds herself in a steamy exchange with a hot cowboy… only to find out this cowboy is her new boss…. Will this ruin her entire career?

Let me tell you, I thought Done & Dusted was the perfect book but after reading Swift & Saddled I am wholeheartedly convinced Lyla Sage will forever be my favorite author, she can DO NO WRONG. This book is so raw and vulnerable and both character representations were out of this world. The chemistry and tension building throughout this book was top notch. The pacing blew me away and the mental health representation was immaculate. Lyla Sage continues to BRING IT and I will forever be in awe of Wes & Ada.

“ I followed my dreams, and they led me back to you” - Ada Hart

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

Lyla continues to delve deep into the topics that most people are afraid to talk about and she does them justice. I could relate to Wes on so many levels and I was able to relate to Ada in the same ways. These two are damaged and are able to seek comfort within themselves as well as together, and that is not something you see often in romance novels… AND I LOVED IT. You are left rooting for Wes & Ada separately as well as together. The character development throughout this book is immaculate and you’re able to build such strong connections to both characters as a reader.

The pacing is perfect throughout, the relationship building is not rushing and at the same time isn’t slow, it is the best of both words with an insane tension build throughout. There is a perfect contrast in sweet fluffy loving moments and spicy tension from start to finish.

All I can say is welcome to my all time favorites Wes & Ada….

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND READ BOTH BOOKS FROM THIS SERIES! I cannot wait to see what else comes from this series. I will forever recommend this book and I am eternally grateful to have received an ARC copy, Thank you Lyla Sage & Quercus.

3.5 stars rounded down

I enjoyed Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage, so I was so excited to receive an ARC of Swift and Saddled. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Swift and Saddled follows Ada Hart, an interior designer who is contracted to renovate a property on the Rebel Blue Ranch in Wyoming. She is hired by Weston Ryder, but the day before she is due to meet him and begin work on the house, she sees him in a bar and ends up making out with him without knowing who he is.

While this was a fun meet cute, once I got to know the characters, I felt like this encounter wasn’t something that would be in their natures to do. It felt a little insta-lusty, and if I’m honest, I didn’t feel much chemistry between them. I almost feel like we were expected to believe they had chemistry because of their make out session at the bar. I would have much preferred them to have met for the first time on Ada’s first day of work, and the tension and chemistry could have been built up organically while in the forced proximity situation.

As for the characters, I adored Wes. He was just wonderful - so thoughtful, sweet and caring for those around him. I loved how open he was with his mental health struggles, although I wish the author would have delved into that aspect a little more. As for Ada - I liked her, but I didn’t love her. Her to’ing and fro’ing with her feelings for Wes irritated me a little. I understood that she had trauma, but like with Wes’s mental health struggles, I wish we had explored that more. There was also an aspect of her past that came up again, but was never resolved.

I really enjoyed the found family aspect and seeing Ada make a home for herself at Rebel Blue. This story had a very cosy feel to it, but I do wish it had a little more angst to it. It all felt very easy, which was quite nice in a way, but I could have done with a smidge more conflict.

The writing was fine, but it was a little too conversational for me. I enjoyed the spicy scenes a lot more in this book compared to the ones in Done and Dusted. The dialogue in D&D during the intimate scenes did make me cringe at times, but that wasn’t the case in Swift and Saddled.

I thought the ending was very sweet and I was satisfied with how the story ended. I will definitely be picking up the next book in this fun cowboy romance series.

4.5stars!!
Second book in the series but definitely can be read as a standalone
I was pleasantly surprised to see characters with mental health issues that didn’t overtake the whole plot and didn’t overshadow every conversation between our main characters.

This series is based on a ranch in Wyoming and it definitely makes you want to visit but after this book you’d definitely want to find a cowboy like Wes!
Wes and Ada meet and have a lust field no names experience and of course the meet the next day to find they’ll be seeing much more of each other. I wouldn’t say this is filled with comedy or even that much drama but the story moving at a fast enough pace that the renovations they’re working on and the direction their lives take towards each other means you don’t need much else.
Mildly spicy when it does make an appearance on page

'Done and Dusted' kickstarted a love of cowboy romance for me and ended up being one of my favourite books of 2023 so I obviously had to read this as soon as it landed on my Kindle.

Setting is incredibly important to me and Rebel Blue Ranch and the small town of Meadowlark in Wyoming are so wonderfully vivid and alive. Sometimes in romance I find that that is the only focus and while there is often character development, the setting is usually secondary, but it's vital to 'Swift and Saddled' and it adds so much depth and colour to the romance. And I love the romance.

The dynamic between Ada and Wes is pure angst and teasing and it's divine. The tension that Sage builds between them is wonderful and I raced through it in two sittings, I was so desperate to see what happened between them.

So much about the Rebel Blue Ranch series is about home and found family and combining that with romance just gets my heart going, especially when cowboys are involved.

I have the paperback pre-ordered and I'm so excited to add it to my shelves - don't even get me started on my excitement for book three announced at the end of this...

Thank you to NetGalley and Quercus for the review copy!

I'll start by saying just how cute the book cover is. It's adorable.

I very much enjoyed this small town cowboy romance. I love a small town setting and this Blue Ranch series delivers. I read and enjoyed book one in the series, Done and Dusted, but I found this book more compelling, I think because I was invested in Wes's story. I'd wanted to learn about him since reading book one. He is my favourite type of hero, the lovable cinnamon roll hero who is kind and thoughtful yet firm when he need to be. I loved him.

I also enjoyed Ada's story arc, the girl who turned up in Rebel Blue Ranch was very different t the girl we find at the end of the book, a girl who finds her way and her voice because of Wes and the rest of the Ryder family. Their love story I found to be authentic and believable. I found it so heartwarming.

The only thing that stopped this book being a five star read for me were the spicy scenes. I'm not a huge fan of them, so skipped them, but that's just my taste.

So overall I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading book three in the series.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.

want to start off by saying i love the first book and see the potential in this series. however going into this i knew i wasn’t going to enjoy it and i was right. honestly i just wanted luke and emmy crumbs and to see more build up for the gus and teddy’s book. the chemistry just wasn’t there for me with wes and ada i didn’t really feel any connection to them. i think if we had spent more time with wes in book one and also met ada earlier i might have liked it more. however happy that we got some set up for book 3 & 4 in this one i think ill enjoy them more
