I loved Ada and Wes’ story! It was beautiful and the acknowledgment at the end made me appreciate the effort taken to write this book even more! I’m a huge Rebel Blue fan and am so excited for Teddy’s story. I love the way Layla Sage portrays the mental health issues of her characters in such a relatable and palatable way. I’m so looking forward to the next book and feel super honoured and grateful to have been able to receive this ARC copy of what’s turning out to be one of my favourite series

Thank you to NetGalley & Lyla Sage for this ARC! I read Done & Dusted last week and was impatiently waiting for March to read Swift & Saddled when I realised I could request the ARC and I was so pleased to get it! Sorry to my other ARCs patiently waiting but I had to read this immediately. 4.5 stars for me!

Wes and Ada and their insecurities and how they care for each other and bring out the sunshine in each other was so wonderful! The only thing that was missing for me was a moment of realisation for Wes that he is enough in what he does even if he’s not like Gus! Their relationship is so sweet and easy - his acts of service are so thoughtful.

Turns out interior designer x cowboy is the perfect combo and I loved seeing more of Emmy and Luke. I’ve been itching for the Teddy and Gus enemies to lovers since about 1/4 way through Done & Dusted and the sneak peek at the end has been eagerly anticipating the sequel of a book that isn’t even published yet!!

I want to be in the Rebel Blue girl gang! Emmy, Teddy, Cam (looking forward to unpacking more of her story in a hopeful future book!!) and Ada are a dream and I want a pizza / Taylor swift / crafty girls night in so bad

Final note to say that meddling Amos is my fav

I adored everything about this book! Wes is such a ray of sunshine and everything you want in a man. He is so open, honest, respectful but still has that cowboy edge.
I loved how he was represented and his challenges were a part of him.
Ada was so fun to read about. She has a tough journey but I loved seeing her open up little by little. She embodies that Knee Jerk reaction we all feel when cornered and I was so proud of her by the end of the book
As always the other characters make Rebel Ranch what it is! Amos continues to be the comic relief we all need and I am so excited to see more of Teddy and Gus 💗

✨ Small town
✨ Workplace romance
✨ Golden retriever/ Black Cat
✨ Forced proximity

💗 The depression representation
💗 Stick shift lessons
💗 Girls night
💗 The storm

What stood out to me: the writing, the characters, Meadowlark, and Baby Blue.

What a perfect second book! I find that a lot of the time the second book in an interconnected series isn’t as good as the first one but boy was this one great! I loved the characters ( Wes especially 🤭) and the ranch. I definitely would recommend to anyone who wants a good romance or a new book boyfriend.

Summary: Ada Hart, resilient after setbacks, thrives independently with her own business. Hired for a crucial ranch project, she crosses paths with a charming cowboy, her unexpected new boss. As Ada navigates the complexities of work and personal boundaries, she grapples with the growing connection to Weston Ryder, who is determined to break through her protective walls. Can they resist the pull of love during this pivotal project?

I'm in my cowboy era! ✨

I voraciously read Done and Dusted (Book 1 in the Rebel Blue Ranch series) for the first time in December (and will no doubt be rereading) and fell in love with the entire Ryder family and residents of Meadowlark, Wyoming. While each book could be read as a standalone, you are missing out on so much joy (and tension, looking at you Teddy + Gus) and backstory to members of the Ryder family - TLDR; don't skip a book. They are worth it!!!

Swift and Saddled is my ✨favourite✨ book of the series (so far). I loved Emmy and Luke but there was something special about Wes and Ada from the moment they met. Perhaps it was their openness and ability to be vulnerable with each other. It had me rooting for them every step of the way!!! ...not to mention Weston's softness, which was a joy to read in an MMC and his ability to openly communicate with Ada hit me in the feels, which is not something every MMC can do and do well, especially when he's a 🤠 cowboy god 🤠 There was also no angsty third-act break-up which I was ✨so✨ relieved about but I don't think it would have been true to their character. So thank you, Lyla!

I can see this series being a comfort series that I return to when it's complete and probably before each new book arrives! The characters that Lyla Sage writes feel like long-lost friends and every time you come back to Meadowlark it feels as if no time has passed at all. Few books or authors have done this for me so far and I'm grateful to have found another series to return to (often). I'm soooooooo ready for Gus + Teddy's story (when the time comes) and to return to Rebel Blue Ranch ✌🏻

❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Wes + Ada 4ever ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Swift and Saddled is out on 5th March 2024 🤠 It's perfect for readers who enjoy small-town or cowboy romances 💖 Thank you to Quercus Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book before it was published, you've made my year! ✨

NOTHING makes me feel the feels I feel while reading a Lyla Sage novel. She just gets IT! A cute golden retriever boy who wants to be known as more than just a ‘nice guy’ ??? YUM! A black cat girlie who finds it hard to be vulnerable, EXCEPT WHEN ITS WITH HIM IN THEIR CUTE LITTLE TRUCK DATES!? Where he teaches her to drive stick??? And they have a cute date in the tray??? I’m done, I didn’t think ANYTHING could make me feel the way I felt when I read Done and Dusted but y’all, I think I love Ada and Wes’ story more 🥹🥹🥹 they just both wanted to be loved and to be understood and wanted!? I cry. I cry and cry and fill bath tubs with the levels of tears I had for this book. Both Happy and Sad tears because Lyla Sage demands to make the reader feel everything so fully. Excuse me while I go find my blanket and dog (BECAUSE YOU KNOW, THIS INSTALMENT HAS THE CUTEST FLUFFBALL OF A DOG IN IT who plays the BEST wingman of all time) and finish crying because now it’s time to wait for book three. I can’t deal 🥲🥲🥲

3.75 ⭐️ Is soft cowboy MMC a thing?

Because it might just be my thing. Wes is the ultimate soft cowboy and I have zero complaints about it.

Wes is ready to take on more responsibility and wants desperately to mane his family proud. In order to do so, he decides to take charge on the renovation of the old big house in Rebel Blue Ranch, and turn it into a BnB sort of experience. Ada is the project manager and designer he hires for the task. She's from out of town, and they communicate through email mostly... so neither really knows who the other is when sparks start to fly between them the first night Ada's in town. They're just two strangers. That is, until their meeting in the morning.

This book was great! I had so much fun reading and exploring Rebel Blue life, and although I felt like the development of the relationship was a little choppy -too fast some times, too slow on others- I really did love Wes character so much, he can basically have all 3.5 stars for himself!

The mental illness/ depression rep in this book is so good, too! I loved the vulnerability between both MCs -especially in the intimate/spicy scenes.

This book's timeline starts pretty close after what I assume is the end of book one, and although I haven't read that one yet (and I don't know if I will) I am 10000% reading book #3! The little teaser at the end of this just about almost killed me! Teddy and Gus need at least 3 books to break down that tension!!

*Thank you so much NetGalley for providing me with an eARC!* This review has already been posted onto Goodreads!

Thanks to NetGalley I got to dive into Swift & Saddled, book two of the Rebel Blue Ranch series, early.

Where the first book followed Emmy Ryder, the youngest of the three Ryder siblings, the second brings us Weston, the sunshine and cinnamon roll middle child who’s renovating on a Bed & Breakfast for Rebel Blue.

Swift & Saddled was such a cozy read, and is up to the same standard, if not better, if of the first book, which is why I’ll be waiting for August and Teddy’s story in book three! But until then enjoy the slow steady romance of Wes and Ada, either it’s glares, dimples, swing touches and steamy scenes.

"Swift and Saddled" by Lyla Sage is a delightful addition to the Rebel Blue Ranch series, intertwining romance and self-discovery in the rustic charm of Wyoming. The story centers around Ada Hart, a resilient and independent interior designer, and Weston Ryder, the quintessential charming cowboy with depth. Their romance unfolds with a slow, captivating burn, marked by moments of intense chemistry and emotional vulnerability. Sage masterfully portrays Ada's journey from a guarded and self-reliant individual, wary of love due to past traumas, to someone who gradually opens up to the possibility of love and trust. Wes, with his endearing patience and understanding, becomes not just a romantic interest but a pillar of support, challenging Ada's defenses in a gentle, persistent manner. His own struggles with depression are handled with sensitivity and realism, adding layers to his character and the narrative.

Lyla Sage’s narrative style shines in its depiction of emotional complexities and the scenic backdrop of the ranch. The renovation project serves as a fitting metaphor for the characters' own transformations, weaving their personal growth with the physical rebuilding of the ranch. While the story occasionally treads familiar tropes, it does so with a fresh and engaging perspective, ensuring the reader's investment in Ada and Weston's journey. The secondary characters add richness to the story, each with their own quirks and contributions to the main narrative. This book is more than just a romance; it's a story of healing, hope, and the power of giving love a second chance. The blend of heartfelt emotions, relatable characters, and a picturesque setting make "Swift and Saddled" a must-read for fans of contemporary romance, especially those who appreciate a good cowboy love story with depth and heart.

I loved this book!! Wes and ada are perfect for each other! He is so supportive in everything she does and the way her shows his love is amazing. Everyone needs a Wes in their lives

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from Netgallery for this book.

This is the second book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series and follows the love story between Weston (Wes) Ryder, the middle child, and Ada Hart who has been hired as an interior to revamp the old Ranch house.

I love me a good cowboy romance and Wes is a golden retriever cowboy gentleman with his own demons, but you can't help but adore him who meets Ada who has a lot of insecurities from a previous very controlling marriage. Their story together is slow and patient but beyond beautiful. The spice is also delicious.

Lyla Sage perfectly described what it's like living with depression , which Wes struggles with:

'But depression wasn't a logical disease. It was an unexpected cold front in the middle of July. It was impossible to predict, which meant that I spent much of my time worrying about when the other shoe was going to drop. Not if, but when I would sink into another dark hole and have to decide to claw my way out of it. Even when I was happy , I was thinking about when I wouldn't be.'

My second favourite quote from Wes :

' You say you're not nice, or warm, or bright, or any other these other stupid fucking words that people use to describe the sun but I never asked you to be the sun. I would rather have the moon anyway. You're the moon and I'm the tides. You pull me in without even trying, and I come to you willing. I always will.

I can't wait for Lost and Lasso , the next in the series, about Teddy and August.

When I started reading this book, the first feeling I had was 'I'm feeling back at home'. This is what the Rebel Blue Ranch books do to you.

this book is so much more than just a romance. It's fear of the past, of feeling caged, fear of taking the first step and dip into something that could be so much more and so perfect that you prefer running away rather than taking that scary first step. But this book is also a story of love, of falling in love with your perfect half and finding your forever family.

This story is incredibly relatable. Ada is a hard working girl, with incredibly low self esteem, which was pushed even further down by her previous relationship. She's so vulnerable and insecure that her flight reactions were more prominent than her heart, telling her that she could have something so pure and beautiful.

Wes... well, I thought I couldn't love him as much as I've loved Brooks, but his kindness and patience won me over. His certainty that Ada was the one for him, that he was willing to wait for her, for as long as it would take is swoon-worthy. I also appreciated how the subject of depression was discussed. How open he was about it.

Special mention to Amos and Stella, I love how we can catch little glimpses of their life before her accident.

Now I just have to go back to my little corner, sighing every five minutes thinking about Wes and Ada, while getting hyped for Teddy and Gus's book. I'm certain it's going to be awesome, from the banters we've read here and there.

Thank you Netgalley and Quercus books for providing me with a copy of the book for an honest review.

ARC Rating 5/5 ⭐️

Aaaaaaah!! PERFECTION. STUNNING. This was just so fucking amazing, and I loved it even more than the first.

I really really enjoyed this book and the characters growth and development throughout.

"I wasn’t an early riser. Or a night owl. Really, I would just rather be sleeping."

Me too Ada, me too.

Ada, is a interior design who comes to help on Wes' new project on the ranch.

It's angsty, its slow burn, its multi layered characters, and it's a really cute storyline. The story touched on real life issues and feeling, really well.

"But I never asked you to be the sun... I would rather have the moon anyway.”

Overall, it was my favourite read of the year so far, and i cannot CANNOT wait for Teddy and Gus' story.

Thank you, NetGalley, Quercus Books, and Lyla Sage, for sending this eARC for review. All opinions are my own.

Save a horse, ride a cowboy.

This had everything that I love. Small town romance, hot cowboy obsessed with the female main character? He's sweet and caring and goes out of his way to make Ada comfortable. The extended cast of characters were all super fun and although I haven't read the first in the series I will be going back for it. The spice also hit the right balance of just enough

Thank you Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for honest review.

When I requested this I didn't realise it was the 2nd in a series BUT it's also one of those books you can read on it's own and it still works. Same characters but each book of the series focuses on a different couple.

Small town romance with a hot cowboy? Sign me up.
Ada and Wes are adorable, but Wes is something else. He's super sweet and caring and will do anything for Ada. Their whole relationship is so wholesome, there's so much open communication.
Sometimes in books like this the spicy scenes can feel either too much or just chucked in for the sake of having a spicy scene, but in this they flowed and felt so natural. I loved that.

I absolutely love Wes. These two had me squealing while reading, it was so cute. Aside from the romance (which was fantastic) I love the way they renovated the house, it really made me so happy. The two of them worked so well together. He is sooooo good at understanding people, but it makes me sad that he doesn’t put himself first more.

The only thing that dragged it down was a personal preference thing. I don’t love when one person is still healing from a past relationship while in the next one. I love that Wes is majorly supportive and patient and incredible. And I love that Ada is growing and caring about herself and is also amazing. But that is just something that I don’t love because of my own constant need to help others that I am trying to overcome. I am definitely Wes if he was a she and less perfect, and also not able to drive.

I received this as an arc from net galley and I have rated it 5 starts because omg it was an amazing read. I fell in love with the characters in the first book of the series but I loved learning even more about them and each persons story. This was a very quick read for me and I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out.

It is almost guaranteed that I will love a book if there are cowboys involved and I definitely loved this book!

I read Done and Dusted in one sitting so I knew I was going to enjoy this book, but there were so many things that added to this story to make it even better!

There is mental health representation and characters with flaws that make you love them even more. Also a lot of cowboys! What’s not to love!

Lyla Sage writes romance that makes me kick my feet and giggle with every tiny moment in her books!

another 5* review for layla sophomore book!
my favourite trope of all time is black cat x holden retriever and boy did this story deliver it in heaps. once again i’m put into the world of rebel blue ranch and it makes me never want to leave. I loved ada and west their love story was so precious to me because Ada seemed so closed off in the beginning but over time and many uses of sweetheart her heart cracked and let West in and it was so worth it because he is truly a man obsessed with her and i want my books no other way!

This book exceeded all my expectations. It was perfection! It felt like a big warm hug 🥹🫶🏼 Weston Ryder is the most precious man I’ve read ever about. He is a walking green flag. He’s caring and nurturing and falls hard. Ada Hart is cynical and lonely but also sassy, driven and I found her so likeable. It’s definitely black cat x golden retriever vibes. Ada and Wes really complimented each other so well 🥰 Wes communicates so well! I LOVED THIS! ❤️

The mental health rep was so well written and it was great to see Weston being so open about his past struggles with depression.

I could talk about this book all day, I just adored it so much 🥰 I love that we got to see lots of Emmy and Luke again too 🥹
