It was lovely to return the the Ever After Agency to see their next case. I liked that not only did we get to see a new case but got updates on Poppy too.
This is a second chance romance with a little bit of enimies to lovers vibes too. I loved that the set up with the case so different from book 1 and definitely gave an interesting spin. I enjoyed that part of the book took part in Paris and the additional side characters that were involved. I liked both of our love interests in this and the background story to their original relationship. There are some hilarious moments and good banter in this. Sandy Barker really did a good job at building the story up and it didn't feel too rushed. Overall I think this was a good romance and I look forward for future books in the series.
Shout out to my Ex is the second book in the Ever After Agency series.
I had a really hard time getting into the book. It seemed like it dragged too much for me. The first half of the book was like slugging through. I did end up liking the end but if it wasnโt an arc I would have never got to the end.
I really enjoyed book one from The Ever After Agency so was curious to see what would happen in book 2. We see how Poppy from book 1 is doing as she is still with the agency, but the story is really focused on Cassie trying to reunite her sister Elle with her true love from uni years, Leo.
There were several laugh out loud moments and quite some drama and moments that had me wondering what will Elle do now. Overall I really liked nearly all the characters, well all except those we are not meant to like and it was a fun and entertaining story.
I absolutely loved the first book in the Ever After Agency series so I was delighted when Poppy (plus Tristan!) and the matchmaking crew made many appearances in Shout Out To My Ex.
I am a sucker for a love story, especially a second chance romance, and even more so a matchmaking business that believes in happily ever afters. Unfortunately, I didn't love Elle and Leo's love story. I'm not a fan of the miscommunication trope or "I never stopped loving you even though I haven't seen you in 10 years and I fell back in love at first sight again." I appreciated Elle's rise to fashion fame and her close relationship with her sister much more! Even so, I loved the backdrop of Paris along with Paris Fashion Week. I could envision Elle's designs and Leo's collection as well. There were moments that felt like kismet, but were orchestrated by Poppy, who is still a hoot. Overall, a fun read.

๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ (๐ฐโ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐) i had the wrong month down for this one. However, I cannot sat anything negative about this book. This is brilliant beyond words, Barker has really done it again.
I love that Poppy was back in this one. I love how the dual narrative lets us know the characters even better. Elle is still hung up on her first love Leo.
Thatโs when he pops back up in her life- seriously men have a knack of that. Only this time heโs known as Lorenzo.
This is a book with a very healthy extra added. Itโs gorgeous from beginning to end and I have devoured this in just one sitting. The story is brilliant, I love the characters. Barker reaffirms with every book why sheโs such a brilliant writer. I think this is my favourite book to date.
I cannot wait to see whatโs coming next
This was a wonderful warm hug of a book!
Shout Out To My Ex is the second instalment in the Ever After Agency series. It can definitely be read as a stand alone - I havenโt read the first one, but will be going back now.
Itโs a wonderful tale of second chance love. Filled full of descriptive and atmospheric settings - I honestly felt like I was in Paris with Elle (MC). Colourful, relatable characters that made me laugh out loud and feel empathy for - some not so nice characters too! The friendships, family bonds and romance were beautifully written and had me invested from the first page.
A genuine, heartfelt romance peppered with hilarious banter that will leave a big olโ smile on your face.
Many thanks to @netgalley @boldwood and @sandybar for an advanced e-arc ๐ Out now.
The Ever After Agency is an exclusive dating agency operating at the top end of the market, known for its secrecy and professionalism. In this installment, the focus is on Cassie, who enlists the agency's help to reunite her sister Elle with her first love, Leo. Set against the backdrop of Paris Fashion Week, the story delves into themes of love, betrayal, and sisterhood, with well-developed characters and intricate relationships. The author skillfully captures the glamour and chaos of the fashion world while weaving a compelling narrative of romance and friendship. With engaging characters and a satisfying conclusion, it's a recommended read for fans of heartwarming stories.
This book is an absolute hoot and I loved every minute of it. It's the second in The Agency Ever After series and although I enjoyed the first one. This one's even better.
Elle Bliss is a successful fashion designer but she is also still pining for her first love Leo. When they broke up, he just disappeared leaving a lot of unanswered questions. Ever since no date has ever come close.
Her career is flying high and when her designs are going to be shown in Paris at Fashion Week she can hardly believe it. But then Leo appears, but he's now going by the name Lorenzo and has completely changed. He's rude and arrogant and won't go away. He's everywhere. As her sister encourages her to work with Leo as he's the most brilliant up and coming shoe designer. But can she work with him?
This is so much fun and it's filled with drama and twists and turns. I really enjoyed this and could see it as a netflix series. It was such an enjoyable read. Fun and light-hearted and perfect for a rainy day.
Enemies to lovers with a second chance at romance. Makes for a feisty, fun read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
Shout Out to My Ex was a great second chance romance with a ton of witty banter and fast pacing. I really enjoyed getting to know Elle, Leo, Poppy and Cassie and the parts they played in trying to get Leo and Elle back together after many years. He was the one that got away (actually took off and ghosted her) and she is still pining for him, while being incredibly angry at the same time. The way that this book is set in the fashion world but still feels like it could happen right around the corner is a breath of fresh air.
Elle is a fashion designer, who puts all of her energy into her work. She still isn't over Leo, her first love who mysteriously fell off the face of the Earth.
Her sister (and business partner) secretly contacts the dating agency, in hopes that they find him, and that Elle and him will have a second chance.
Well they find him, he goes by a different name and is a celebrated shoe designer. And a completely different person, than the guy she was in love with.
Their first meet doesn't go well and it's only downhill from there on. They cross paths all of the time, and the more they do, the more she starts to notice the glimpses of the guy she used to love.
It's a very funny enemies to lovers romance, set in the most beautiful city. :)
What is better than a second chance romance with all the drama of a lovers to enemies to frenimies to โฆ. ? Perfection!
I can't believe I didn't review this fabulous book as soon as I read it. Thoroughly enjoyable tale set in the world of fashion and paparazzi but with down to earth relatable characters. Fun with plenty of twists and turns.
An original and fresh play on the idea of a dating agency along with a lost love trope that drew me in and had me rooting for the main protagonist. Highly recommended and I'm off to buy the first in the series and pre-order the third.
I loved the first book & the second in the series did not disappoint!
Who doesn't love a happy ever after with the struggle to get there. Sandy Barker brings these characters to life. It was great to catch up with Tristan & Poppy's life & seeing Elle & Leo's reconnection grow.
Recommended read.
A super cute read that takes the idea of a happily ever after and actually monitizes it. I have to admit I was ready to not finish this when we first met Leo ahem Lorenzo but Iโm so glad I stuck it out. Elle and Leo are a really cute couple and this second chance romance had me on the edge of my seat. I quite enjoyed this read!
I received this advanced reader copy from NetGalley and the opinions in this review are not impacted by that.

My thoughts ๐ญ
Little did I know this was the 2nd book of a series but could be read as a standalone. This book began slow but once it took off it was such a good read. I really enjoyed the second chance at love with a long lost lover trope and loved the Fashion & Match Making twist to it. I seriously disliked Leo for 3/4โs of the book but once his reasons were revealed I understood. I became his fan and cheered the relationship on ๐ Could they have done away with a few characters and made this an easier to keep up with story? Ummm, yes especially Franzia.

Although this is the second book in a series, you really don't need to have read the first one, although it does touch on book one it isn't in a way that leaves the reader confused. With 2 POV - Poppy the matchmaker and Elle the one to be matched unbeknown to her. Although a matchmaking story it is based in the fashion world with both Elle and Leo being fashion designers, I really enjoyed this backdrop. This had some comedy moments throughout and I'm glad that I decided to read this despite not having read the first one.
This is the 2nd installment of The Ever After Agency series, and I enjoyed this one just as much as the first.
In this one we meet Poppy again, who we got to know in the first installment but this book revolves around Elle, and her one true love who she hasn't seen for 10 years - Leo.
The book is told from 2 different points of view - from Elle's and also from Poppy's, but each chapter is labelled clearly so there is no wasted time trying to understand where you are at and who is who.
Great storyline, with great characters, and a generally easy to read storyline so that before you know it you have finished.
Looking forward to the 3rd installment in the series
Would definitely recommend.
I love that I keep getting approved for second books in a series that Iโve had the pleasure to read the first one through NetGalley as well. This book was just as good as the first. I love the second chance romance, the fake relationship and the representation of family issues. I am enjoying Sandyโs writing a lot!
A super quick read (with a slightly slow start) but a cute HEA romance! Lots of tropes - fake dating, family issues, and second chances.
