I have to say it was the FBI agent turned rare book collector that caused me to pick this one up despite being the last one in a series. As I wasn't a huge fan of the second one in the series. But I loved this one.
Such a great book! I love reading books that take place in Alaska. I’ve loved this whole series!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
The great state of Alaska, a couple who is on the hunt for a missing manuscript and danger around every corner...what else could we ask for in Elizabeth Goddard's conclusion to the Missing in Alaska series?! This was a fast paced mystery where we get to see Nolan, who we met previously in this series, get his happily ever after with Ivy.
I read/listened to the audio version of Hidden in the Night and enjoyed every minute of it. Now I'm looking forward to Ms. Goddard's next book, Storm Warning, coming in February 2025.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

This was a unique, adventure romance. I enjoyed every minute. Perfect for snuggling under a warm blanket with a cup of hotness to enjoy.
Hidden in the Night by Elizabeth Goddard is a work of romantic suspense. The main character is after a manuscript and encounters a past love interest in her dangerous quest. I thought the landscape of Alaska was really interesting. It was clear that movements around town were difficult in inclement weather. However, this also seemed to slow the action down a bit, making the story lag a bit. Overall, it was a good story and I enjoyed it. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
This is book 3 in the Missing in Alaska series, it is a stand alone book, but I feel you will miss some history of some of the characters if you jump right in to this one, plus you miss some good reads as well. This book is full of mystery, romance, drama and so much more. I love this series and have really enjoyed this book. I loved getting to know Ivy and Nolan. Their hunt for a missing girl and a lost manuscript all mix together for a great read. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.
Ms Goddard is amongst the greats like Susan May Warren and Patricia Bradley with their romantic suspense. I seriously don't know how she or the other authors are able to come up with such wild and detailed story lines. I thought I had a good imagination but they blow me out to the water. The way she seamlessly weaves the people and the stories together in each book. She could teach a master class.
Hidden in the Night finds former FBI Agent turned antique book collector, Ivy Elliott, searching for a lost manuscript and an endangered young woman in the Alaskan wild. Nolan Long, Ivy’s previous famous t-plus-one joins in the search for the missing citizen. Will Ivy and Nolan survive against murderous intent in the formidable arctic?
Elizabeth Goddard’s newest release started well but it slowed mid-book. Although Hidden in the Night was light and entertaining, I prefer some of Goddard’s other books.
I enjoyed this story! I had not read the previous books in the series, but found that I was able to follow the story and didn't feel lost. The characters kept me drawn into the story, the writing was fantastic, and I did not figure out the twist! The faith content was worked naturally through the story and was not preachy. This was a great story and I highly recommend it!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Elizabeth Goddard has quickly become a go-to author for me. Whether she's writing for Revell or Love Inspired Suspense, her stories are always gripping, nonstop action, with enough romance woven throughout to warm readers' hearts. Hidden in the Night follows this pattern closely.
Former FBI agent Ivy Elliot travels to Alaska on the trail of a rare Jack London manuscript. The book was on her late father's list of books he wanted to procure, and now that Ivy has found it, her mother asks her to secure it for their bookshop. Ivy arrives in Alaska, drives out to the cabin the book's owner lives in, and learns from the woman that the book is gone, and so is her granddaughter. Ivy continues to investigate, but the next thing she finds is a body. As she is checking for signs of life, Alaskan State Trooper Nolan Long happens on the scene, finding Ivy with blood coated hands. As bullets start flying, Nolan goes into protection mode and helps Ivy with her search for the missing girl, but they aren't the only ones looking for her. The girl was previously rescued from her trafficker, and he wants her back.
As Nolan and Ivy search, an Alaskan blizzard, sabotage, and evil men stand in their way. Can they rescue the girl, find the manuscript, AND come out of all of this alive?
As I said, the action here never stops for a breather. Every time I thought they were finally "safe", another bad guy tried to take them out. I definitely recommend this to lovers of romantic suspense. This one will get your heart rate pumping!
The third book in the Missing in Alaska series fell a little short of my expectations but is still a good romantic suspense read.
When Ivy Elliott’s mother asks her to find a rare book, she moves heaven and earth to accomplish this sending her to Alaska looking for the unpublished Jack London manuscript seemingly lost decades ago. Alaska State Trooper Nolan Long finds himself helping Ivy after a blizzard hits and dead bodies turn up in the search for the missing book. Along with the missing book they are in search of a missing girl who might be the key to finding all they search for.
Hidden in the Night follows the first two books in the series which I really enjoyed and was expecting to enjoy this one as well but unfortunately this one fell short. I just couldn’t get myself connected to the characters and even though I was intrigued with the missing London manuscript, it wasn’t enough to keep me focused on the pages. The romance aspect was well played and did hold my interest better. Even though this wasn’t my favorite, I do believe fans of romantic suspense will enjoy it.
I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.
The third installment of the Missing in Alaska series once again takes us back to Shadow Gap, Alaska and reintroduces us to Alaska State Trooper Nolan Long. Nolan is about to take off on vacation to surprise a girl he met before this story takes place. But instead of surprising her, Ivy Elliot, rare book collector, surprises Nolan by landing on his doorstep! As Ivy is searching for a rare, lost book, she discovers and murder and thanks to her history as a former FBI agent, works alongside Nolan to find the murderer, a missing girl and the lost book.
While not my favorite book in this series, I did enjoy getting to know Nolan better and seeing some familiar faces in this story!
Hidden in the night by Elizabeth Goddard is a good suspense/mystery story. It is the 3rd book of the Missing in Alaska Series. I read it as a standalone book but I think it would be better to read the books in order. Ivy Elliott and Nolan Long are the too main characters. Ivy is a former FBI worker who lives in Florida and Nolan lives in Alaska and works as an Alaska State Trooper. They met each other in their past when Ivy and her Mom went to Alaska to visit and find out about a rare book manuscript of Jack London’s that she is hoping to purchase from this woman Lina in Alaska. However when she goes to Alaska to meet Lina to get the manuscript her plans change because her granddaughter went with her Uncle to be out of harms way for awhile and she took the manuscript with her. Ivy goes on a mission to find Lina’s granddaughter because Lina hasn’t heard from her or the uncle in a few days and she is worried of course. Ivy and Nolan meet again and they work together and help each other along the way while trying to stay alive. They realize they love each other in the end too. Thank you to Netgalley and Revell for giving me the opportunity to read and review a ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
Thank you, Netgalley and the publisher, for an advanced reader's copy of this book! I am providing this review voluntarily, and the opinions expressed are my own and unbiased!
Unfortunately, I have to say that this is not my favorite book by Elizabeth Goddard. I did like the story and Nolan was one of my favorite characters, but Ivy drove me bonkers! If I had been Nolan, I would have given up on her after the first few chapters of the book. So, kudos to him for continuing to try. I guess that's what love does sometimes. The writing was great as usual, but this particular MC was not for me!
I was excited to finally have Nolan’s story. I loved how protective Nolan was, and the sweetness of the reunion element added to the romance. Though a bit of a slow-burn, the will they/won’t they aspect added to the suspense.
The search for the missing girl was very interesting and also intense. Goddard definitely surprised me more than once. I usually become suspicious of the guilty party by at least the 75% mark, but the ending came out of left field for me. And the surprises definitely made this book more enjoyable.
Though Hidden in the Night is part of a series, you could read it as a standalone. But honestly, I think it would be better enjoyed if you read the books in order, especially since the characters from the first two books make a few appearances.
Overall, Hidden in the Night is an exciting suspense with a sweet romance.
I enjoyed this final book in the Missing in Alaska series. Just as Nolan prepares to go on vacation to try to find a woman he met earlier, she shows up in his town in Alaska. They are quickly embroiled in a search for missing people and missing items and they find that their attraction hasn't died.
There are several different mysteries to solve and Ivy and Nolan and others need to figure out what's connected and what's superfluous. It was fascinating seeing the mysteries unfold. There's a ton of action and danger from weather as well as villains. It was interesting seeing how the environment of Alaska played a major part in the story.
Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I'd recommend it. All opinions are my own.
What an exciting, bone-chilling and satisfying story! How can two people, one in Florida and one in Alaska, find a way to be with each other to see if there is a future together? How can one story describe the glories and dangers of icy Alaska and make one appreciate the ones who help with law and order? How can one use one's imagination to build on Jack London's story? (Imagine being rejected 600 times and not giving up writing!) How can one use faith to weave into a beautiful story naturally? Read this book and find out!
I appreciate the publishers allowing me to read this advanced reader copy, and the views expressed are my own.
I really enjoyed Hidden in the Night, the final book in Elizabeth Goddard's Missing in Alaska series. I was quite intrigued and drawn in by the "finding a missing manuscript" part of the plot. A fictional missing manuscript written by a not-fictional famous author. I love the way the manuscript played into the story. The author kept me wondering how important the manuscript was to the other plot points. A missing young lady who was probably in danger herself. The possibility of trafficking being involved. Scientific researchers. Villains who both seem to be prodding Ivy to find the manuscript and deter her from finding it. As a reader I found there was a great deal of suspense and peril and mystery. And of course, it is romantic suspense, so what was going to happen in the relationship between Ivy and Nolan.
The story is told from both of their points of view. They knew each other in the past but had let the other slip away. Was this the opportunity to get closer or would the fact that the one lived in Florida and the other in Alaska be a road block they couldn't overcome? I did love seeing their relationship evolve, though I did get frustrated with them at times.
Another thing I loved about the book is that we get to see the characters from the previous two books again. I was sad to see that it was the final book in the series. I would have loved to read more books with these characters.
The reason I gave it only four stars was because it was a book I was able to set aside and read something else instead of zinging right through it. Plus there were some things in the ending that I was hoping would play out a bit differently and didn't quite seem like they were resolved.
But, I still loved this book and highly recommend it. If you are one who prefers to not have spoilers when it comes to character relationships, you will want to read these books in order. However, each story is a stand alone and has its own conclusion.
I received an e-copy of this book through NetGalley and was not required to write a favorable review. These are my own honest thoughts.

Revell and Netgalley sent me a copy of Hidden in the Night to review:
Former FBI agent Ivy Elliott arrives in Alaska to retrieve an unpublished Jack London manuscript hidden away for decades at the urging of her ailing mother. Her arrival, however, reveals that the manuscript is gone--taken by the granddaughter of the woman who owned it. In pursuit of the manuscript, Ivy sets out to save the vulnerable girl who was previously trafficked and has no idea what she's getting into.
She joins forces with Alaska State Trooper Nolan Long to search for the missing girl, battling blizzards, sabotage, and the worst of an Alaskan winter. Every answer they discover raises more questions--and the danger to their lives and to the missing girl may only be the tip of the iceberg.
I give Hidden in the Night five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
