From looking at many reviews of this book I’m in the minority but then you can’t please all of the people etc. it read like a book for young adults with the decisions made too hung ho to be anything like I would expect an adult to make. Skim read loads as it annoyed me.

I think you have probably read what the book is about, so I won't write about that part. This book was quite the surprise, with all that was happening. It kept me reading until I read the whole book, Life does have a way of unfolding as it's meant to be, and I definitely could see that here. This is an emotionally gripping story, that as their life unfolds, there are so many things I never saw coming. I went on quite the ride with this journey, and when I came to the end, I could see that life brought them to a much better place. I highly recommend this book.
I received an ARC from Boldwood Books through NetGalley, and I highly recommend you read this book.

Omg Amazing!!!! Toni has been unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant for years. Her sister Liv finds herself in a Paton to give Toni the greatest gift ever…but sometimes the best laid plans don’t go as expected. This book was fabulous with an amazing twist I didn’t quite see coming.

I was riveted from the title and synopsis.

I have disabilities myself (physical and sensory rather than intellectual. I have Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus, speech and visual impairments) and so know what it’s like trying to get severe needs met.

I enjoyed the family dynamic and how Liv and Toni helped each other.

I enjoyed the writing style which deal with the subjects sensitively.

I did feel slightly annoyed/saddened at first as how Mandy was talked about by her family in terms of her needs, and I know they’re complex. It’s understandable that needs can affect families this way when the family are good people like they are here, and I have personal experience of this happening.

5 stars, but derserves more. My Sister’s Baby is outstanding and memorable.
ening.

Sometimes, it’s a real juggling act. I felt sad for them all about the husband’s father’s death, as that was something else to add to the already complicated situation.

I was happy that Liv was there for Mandy and that Mandy could voice her opinion about what she did and did not want and participate in conversations to some extent, but I do also recongize how her disabilities affect her.

My Sister’s Baby is a true life lesson and I hope it leads to more disability awareness. Louise Guy does a great job of raising awreness through the family’s experiences.

Thanks to Louise Guy, Boldwood Books and Rachel’s Random Resources for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

This is such a page-turner, it is filled with so many emotions as many family stories are, come and meet the Montgomery family, mother, Sara, daughters Toni, Liv and Mandy as they track through life with many ups and downs, secrets and the love they share.

With the death of their father, Sara is not coping real well at the moment, Liv lives in Sydney and Toni is busy with her marketing position, husband Joel and they also desperately want a baby and Sara is doing her best to cope with Mandy an intellectually challenged thirty year old, Toni asks Liv for help and she arrives to help out. Liv and Toni have always been very close while their parents spent so much time with Mandy, fifteen years ago Toni helped save Liv’s life how far would Liv go to pay her sister back?

Liv takes Mandy home to Sydney for a holiday and to give her mother a break, Mandy makes friends with Liv’s neighbour and friend Barb and Mandy is loving her trip and it has been extended a couple of times now, she is also learning to live independently, things seem to be going well. But when Liv finds that there may be a chance to help her sister with the biggest wish she has that is to have a baby, Liv plunges in with a plan, but will this plan bring them together or pull them all apart?

This is an absolutely fabulous read that takes in so many issues that happen in life today, organ donations and transplants, IVF and people with special needs and grief, but it opens up a world of family love and caring and what extent they will go to, to give the ones they love the things they want most, I did thoroughly enjoy this one my emotions where all over the place and there were tears, and a twist, it really is a beautiful and well told story and one that I do highly recommend.

My thanks to the publisher Boldwood Books and Netgalley for my digital copy to read and review.

Well this book nearly broke me, such an emotional, sad, endearing and heartwarming read. The three sisters will quickly take up a place in your hearts.

Although I didn’t particularly like Toni, I got why she acted how she did, though nothing quite excuses her actions to her sisters, especially Liv.

I adored the authors writing style, she well out across the message that family matters and people can make mistakes whilst working in a persons best interests.

Liv, Toni and Mandy are sisters and when they were younger and Liv needed a life saving operation Toni stepped up and saved her sisters life. Mandy is intellectually disabled and while I know that Toni does love her she has always resented Mandy. Toni is desperate for a baby but has failed with IVF and when Liv offers to give Toni her baby it starts a rollercoaster ride of emotions for everyone. I deeply cared for all the characters in this book which is very rare as there is generally at least one who you don't like and while I didn't like some of the feelings that Toni felt, I could fully understand them and I don't think it makes her a horrible person but rather human. Mandy was my favourite and gave the story the best value. All I can say about the plot twist is I'm glad I was sitting down as it would have knocked me off my feet. I found it to be a emotional read and I reached for the tissues several times.

My Sister's Baby by Louise Guy ⭐⭐⭐⭐

My first book by Louise Guy, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

I'm not going to give any deals but what I will say is this.... Be careful what you wish, you may just get it, and the green is definitely not greener on the other side.
I recommend you read this with an open mind. It will have you emotions twisted in knots. I'm glad I read it and you will too.

I was given an advanced copy by NetGalley for my honest review.

First, I want to thank Louise Guy, Boldwood Books, NetGalley and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

You may want to stock up on tissues for Louise Guy’s emotion filled story My Sister’s Baby. She tackles some very important issues within her storylines that will have readers talking way after you are finished with the book. This is one book where you will want to put it at the top of your tbr list!

This is the first book that I enjoyed every single character and what they brought to the story. Usually there may be a character that I don’t care for but not this one.

Mandy was one of my favorite characters out of all of them though. She had a beautiful heart of gold and showed it every chance she could. I really appreciated that Louise created this character to bring awareness of individuals with disabilities. As someone with a disability I would like to see more characters like this one. I enjoyed watching Mandy’s character grow within the storyline.

My Sister’s Baby is a highly addictive and fast paced read. This storyline has a ton of emotional highs, lows, twists, turns, secrets and shocking revelations. It is a story about family and what great lengths they will go to for eachother.

I’d like to thank Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘My Sister’s Baby’ written by Louise Guy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Liv and Toni are best friends as well as sisters and have a sister Mandy who’s intellectually challenged due to an illness in her childhood. Liv is forever grateful that when in their teens Toni didn’t hesitate to donate a kidney when Liv’s failed. Now, Toni and her husband Joel are unable to conceive despite having IVF treatment, but Liv has a secret and offers them the chance to fulfil their dreams of a family.

‘My Sister’s Baby’ is the thought-provoking story of three sisters and the strength of their relationships as they’re tested to the limit. The story has been well-written as the topics of organ donation, IVF treatment and adoption are handled sensitively. The characters and their family dynamics are perfectly described with attention to detail and although there are a few twists and turns along the way I truly didn’t see the final twist coming until it hit me. This is an emotional page-turner that I enjoyed reading although on occasion I had a lump in my throat.

When sisters Liv, Toni and Mandy, along with their mother Sara, lost their father and husband, the family grieved deeply. But when Toni's desperate call to Liv in Sydney arrived, and she begged her sister to come home to Melbourne because both Mandy and their mother weren't coping, she dropped everything. Toni and Joel were married and had been trying for the past eight years to have a baby. Every time Toni became pregnant, she miscarried before 12 weeks. Liv had to be strong for everyone in the family, and her shock on seeing the house - and their mother - in the condition it was, caused her to make some decisions. Mandy had special needs and had always needed her parents. Now Liv offered for Mandy to come to Sydney for a few weeks on a holiday, to give Sara a break and time to grieve properly.

Mandy and Liv's neighbour, Barb, became firm friends. They would go out and explore around Sydney's harbour while Liv was at work, and Mandy had a wonderful time. Gradually Liv made some decisions for the future, decisions that would either be amazing, or have disastrous consequences. The secrets that Liv was keeping - were they too much? Would the outcome ruin the family bond they'd all had over the years?

My Sister's Baby was an amazing read by Aussie author Louise Guy and I certainly didn't expect the major twist at the end! Well done Ms Guy on that one! Set in both Melbourne and Sydney, My Sister's Baby touched on many issues - people with special needs; transplants; IVF and the parents desperation for a baby; familial love - and all were handled with care. Touching, poignant and both heartwarming and heartbreaking, I highly recommend this wonderful book.

With thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks Boldwood Books for my arc copy, here's my honest review from the heart

We are following three sisters in my sister Baby. Each is very different from another. We have Toni,Liv, and Mandy . Toni and Liv are close sisters, whereas they aren't as close to Mandy who is interellcually challenged. Then we have Toni, who is desperate for a baby but struggling, and then there is Liv, whom after a series accident, had donated a kidney to Toni .

I felt for Mandy a lot through this book, and it even brought me to tears 😢 💔. I like how this book touches upon so many topics and some that are unconventional. The relationship between Barb and Mandy pulled on my heart strings 💔.

The ending is so sweet and made me smile.

A good family drama and how they all come together for each other.
After the death of their father three sisters one with special needs come together to help their mother as she is not coping especially with the youngest sister Mandy with her special needs, so Liv decides to take Mandy for a few months while Toni is also grieving for her lost babies to miscarriages and not being able to conceive naturally.
A good twist to the end.
Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the ARC and I give my honest review.

This book had a lot of situations and deep feelings all wrapped around three sisters. The emotions that this book gave out as I was reading really had me turning the pages and getting lost in the world of this family.
The story was filled with sisterly love, family secrets and them trying to navigate the dynamics of what they needed to do and not lose themselves.
Thank you NetGalley, Louise Guy and Boldwood Books for the copy of My Sister’s Baby. This is my personal review.

I always love Louise Guy’s books, her characters always feel very real and this book is no exception.
Family……. sisters, resentment, the way you support each other and the way you can turn against each other I’m sure is very real in some families. Maybe not quite in this kind of setting but yet it was convincing for me. I did guess the storyline early on but it didn’t takeaway any enjoyment for me.
Any easy read and great family drama.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy to read.

I defy anyone to stop reading My Sister's Baby when they've started it.
My heart was in my mouth for a while. I was worried Mandy, who has learning difficulties, would be treated in a stereotypical way. But Louise Guy has great empathy and shows Mandy in a new light. Guy gets under the skin of the three sisters and we understand exactly where they're all coming from. There are complicated family dynamics with old loyalties and dated perceptions.
It's a pacey read with a memorable twist. I enjoyed it tremendously.
Thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and Boldwood for the advance copy.

A death and a birth, two big life events. The death of their dad and a grieving mum pulls Liv back home for a flying visit. Toni is not only grieving her father but another miscarriage. Mandy has additional needs and mum can't manage the needs and get out of bed.
Liv takes Mandy home with her and sets in motion a series of events.
Love is the catalyst but will it work out?
Follow the sisters as their relationship changes and obstacles are theirs to overcome. Will they triumph and still be a family? A runaway rollercoaster of emotions.
