How do you cope having a sister you owe your life to and the one thing that she wants most in life is a baby and you have that opportunity to give her one. Toni gave you the gift of life donation a kidney and now you have the opportunity to gift her a baby but it would be in an unconventional way. You have unexpectedly lost your dad and everyone is grieving in their own way and no one is clearly thinking because this story has many lies and once they start to unravel and fall apart they begin to make sense and everyone has to work together to make everything happen for the best of the baby.
I enjoyed the whole story as it all unraveled and want to thank NetGalley for ARC of this book.

My Sister’s Baby by Louise Guy is a beautiful, contemporary novel about family.
Families are messy, complicated and beautiful. Families support each other and love unconditionally. Families will make a way when there seems no way… but what happens when families keep secrets, harbor resentments and deal in deception?
Families come in all shapes and sizes. We meet a ‘normal’ family within the book.
All the characters were realistic and easy to empathise with. They all demand an emotional response from the reader. I did have a favourite character – and that was Mandy.
As the novel opens, the family is dealing with the premature loss of a father. Grief is raw and grief is palpable. We all deal with grief in different ways.
The family is no stranger to problems. There are three daughters. A childhood illness left the youngest daughter mentally impaired. During the teenage years, the other two daughters were hospitalized as the one donated a kidney to the other. Their relationships are complicated, as in any family but love under pins it all. Love is greater than secrets, lies, unforgiveness and resentment. Love stands tall.
My Sister’s Baby is a beautiful novel – but don’t just take my word for it – grab yourself a copy today.
I received a free copy via Rachel’s Random Resources for a blog tour. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

This was an excellent book, reminds me quite a bit of Jodi Picoult or similar authors. The themes of family and secrets were well explored through the characters. I enjoyed the setting in Australia as well.

Compelling sisterly tale!

I was thrilled.when I was asked to review this book. It it about three sisters who've lost their father and mom is not handling things.
There is Toni and Lives who were super close as kids since their parents seemed to be more consumed with Mandy, who is intellectually challenged. As teens Toni band Lives were in an accident and Toni donated a kidney to Liv.

The sisters are grown now and trying to get mom to cope with life.

From there we learn more about the family. The sisters they were in childhood and now. The realistic feelings from Toni and Liv how their lives were shaped being Mandy s sister.

I adore books about family, sisters and secrets and this one was amazing!

I couldn't put it down! The sisterly bonds or lack of maybe, the way the sisters feel now about each other were just compelling.

I really felt for the family with the loss of their father. The moms struggles now. The sisters each having their own issues and just being part of a family.

There was emotions and secrets and surprises.

I teared up a bit a few times but overall just enjoyed the story. Even the sad or hard parts kept the story moving along.

This us a book that will stick with me for awhile.

I am glad the book comes out soon because it will be talked about and sold in the store.

Thank you Net Galley. Goodwood books and the author for this awesome book

5 stars A must read

Liv and Toni were incredibly close as sisters, leaning on each other for love and support while their parents focused on their younger sister Mandy, who had special needs. When Liv faced a life-threatening situation as a teenager, Toni selflessly stepped up and saved her life. However, as time went on, their lives took them in different directions - they now live in separate cities and rarely see each other.
But now, it's Toni who desperately needs Liv's help. She dreams of having a baby but is unable to do so on her own. When Liv finds herself in a position where she could fulfill Toni's dream, she is torn. She wants to say yes and repay the love and sacrifice Toni has given her, but Liv is harboring a dark secret that could potentially destroy their family forever.

This emotionally gripping story explores the depth of a sister's love and the difficult decisions that come with it. Liv and Toni's bond is tested as Liv's well-intentioned plan has the potential to backfire and jeopardize the family they cherish.

As the story unfolds, secrets are revealed and lies are unraveled, creating a captivating and emotional journey. Readers will be drawn into the complex dynamics between the characters and their ultimate fates. This is a thought provoking read that allows one to examine the lengths we would go to for family and how events in our childhood continue to impact us in our adult years.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

How do you measure the depth of a sister’s love? Liv and Toni have always been close, especially growing up with Mandy, their intellectually challenged sister. After a serious accident, Toni donates a kidney to save Liv’s life. Now Liv has the opportunity to return the gift by helping Toni achieve her dream of becoming a mother. Liv’s well intentioned plan has the potential to backfire and destroy the family she loves.

My Sister’s Baby completely snuck up on me. The story started slowly and halfway through I wanted to scream at all the characters. As the story unfolded and the lies unraveled, I couldn’t stop reading and by the final chapters, my tears were flowing. I’m a big Jodi Picoult fan and Louise Guy’s novel is reminiscent of Picoult’s ability to transform a reader’s opinion of characters and themes as the story develops.

A mother of three adult daughters, the youngest intellectually disabled and living at home, is unable to cope with life after her husband dies, leaving the middle sister, Liv, to step in to care for the youngest sister. At the same time, Liv devises a plot to help the oldest sister who is desperate for a baby.

From the first few chapters, I could tell that this was not my cup of tea. I have three sisters that I would gladly help however I could, but not by lying, scheming, and breaking the law. I could not connect with the middle sister who seemed to feel that the end justified any means. Because the writing felt middle school-ish, I skipped a chunk of chapters in the middle to get to the ending, and felt that nothing was lost by that decision.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

In My Sister's Baby by Louise Guy, is a story of sisterhood, devotion, and triumph over less than ideal circumstances. Being raised by their mother after their father dies, Toni and Liv try and help take care of each other while their mom focuses most of her attention on their sister with special needs, Mandy. When Liv needed a kidney as a teenager, Toni didn't hesitate to give her one and did whatever it took to make Liv well again.

As adults Liv may be able to help Toni realize her dreams of becoming a mother, but doesn't know if she can - she's keeping secrets from her that may cause Toni to remove her from her life if they are found out.

The book is full of twists, turns and plot points that I didn't see coming, but most of all, it's a love story between sisters. Their relationship is sister goals and beautifully written.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book. I really enjoyed this and plan on looking at more from the author.

"My Sisters Baby" is a story about sisters, one gives the other a kidney during childhood and this sister then repays her sister with a child... I don't want to give too much away about the story as it's a phenomenal book from start to finish! Written with so much emotion that it oozes out of the pages and twists you won't see coming it is a must read!

Cute little story about sisterly love and sacrifices. Very predictable to me-I jumped around more than anything, but still very easy read and warms your heart.

Thanks you to the publisher and NetGalley for the e-arc of this book.

This was an emotional story, and engaging. I loved the relationship between the sisters, and that they weren't both amazingly supportive and kind to their sister with special needs. There was realistic resentment and frustration, both with her, and with themselves.
